Hollywood and Bollywood, despite similarities in their names, hardly have anything in common. Except that the latter often borrows concepts from its older cousin. Yet, it manages to make something different from the original. "Action Replayy" is an example of that.

When proposed to, Bunty (Aditya Roy Kapoor) refuses to marry his girlfriend because he has seen his parents Kishan (Akshay Kumar) and Mala (Aishwarya Rai) fight since he was born. Even on their 35th marriage anniversary, they fight as if they were sworn enemies. A determined Bunty steals a ride on a time machine invented by his girlfriend's grandfather to go back in time to make it all right.

Doing this will be tougher than he had imagined as he finds his parents very different from what they are today. Parenting ones parents, Bunty would realise, is the toughest job in the whole wide world.

The basic premise isn't new. Even before "Back To The Future" made it famous, travelling to the past to correct one's present was staple food of science fictions. It is, after all, the ultimate human fantasy.

What is new is how "Action Replayy" lays bare the difference between two of the biggest commercial filmmaking centres of the world, Hollywood and Bollywood. While in "Back To The Future" the stress is on science fiction and survival of the time traveller, here it is on human relations and the various emotions associated with it.

Also the paper thin, cliched villains of the film shows that Bollywood is still in a time-wrap. But "Action Replayy" can perhaps afford to, it being a time-wrap story and all.

Lot of efforts have been made to get the sets right, and surprisingly it often works. Vignettes of ancient advertisements, painstakingly made a part of the set by the filmmakers, make it a thrill to watch, especially for those from that era.

The costumes, however, try too hard to be retro. If you watch films of those period, they were not so flowery and jazzy as in this film. However, given the lighter vein in which the film is made, it is perhaps justified.

Aishwarya and Akshay are as good as Bollywood can get, which isn't much. Pritam's music is average and only when we do an action replay from the high plinth of the future, will we come to know the corners of the world he has plagiarised from.

Few spoofs are hilarious, especially the one on the Gujarati band led by Mahesh Kumar whose brother can sing in two voices. The one where the son is desperately trying to make his retro father understand the concept of sex and uses the typical Hindi film analogy of two flowers meeting is a laugh-riot.

Despite this the film misses many opportunities for gags that can easily be part of a time travel film. Just the inclusion of names common today like Obama, Mallika Sherawat, Saif Ali Khan etc., does not necessarily make it humorous.

"Action Replayy" despite its best intentions and few successes, fails in many others. Perhaps it will take someone else to say action-reply and better the present for Bollywood.

Ajay (Shubh Mukherjee) is a scriptwriter waiting desperately for that one big break. He spends most of his free time playing video games. His fed up girlfriend Jiah (Sabina) finally drops him an ultimatum to get his act right in two months and become serious in life or she would zoom off to Australia forever. Just as the two-month period is about to get over, Ajay manages to sign a script for a group of newcomers. He writes a thriller for them by replacing their story of bank robbery with that of a theft of an expensive diamond necklace from a museum. The reason being he was impressed by one such real diamond necklace which he had gone to see with his Sharad Sir (Anupam Kher). The real costly diamond necklace enclosed in an invisible glass box can only open with two passwords, one of alphabets and the other, numerical. After his script is complete, when Ajay and Jiah’s engagement is taking place, Police inspector Gupte (Milind Soman) barges in and arrests Ajay for the diamond necklace theft from the museum. The proof, the police has on hand being the closed circuit TV cameras in the museum that had captured Ajay frequenting the museum and spending a long time there everyday because of which he is the prime suspect in the theft case. Ajay’s argument that it was all for the research for his film script is not convincing enough for the police. Ajay however, escapes from police custody as he realizes that the theft was all a part of the sinister plan by the film’s makers and that they had carried out the theft by using his film script in which he had mentioned the two passwords, which had turned out to be the actual passwords! But as Ajay tries to prove his innocence, one by one each of the four producers are killed. What happens next as Ajay struggles to prove his innocence forms the rest of the film.

Debutante director Mohan Savalkar exposes his limited talent as a director. His amateurish handling of the thriller takes the film further down. The writers of the film appear to be living in some dreamworld where it is important for a scriptwriter character in a film to crack an internet password to write a good script! If that is not plain kiddish for you then you got to watch the film to see how easily and conveniently the writers and director have taken the audience’s intelligence for granted. In the climax when the heroine is tied with bombs, the hero uses the same passwords that were used to steal the diamond necklace to untie her and he succeeds! Also if the main culprit was bumping each of the four producers within the film why did he not bump of Ajay before?

The only saving grace of the film however is the acting and the chase sequences. Shubh Mukherjee is better than his debut film Aasma. Sabina Sheema has screen presence and Milind Soman puts up a very convincing act as the tough nut police inspector. Anupam Kher is good as usual.

Music by Bapi Tutul is average and the item song shot on Rozza is so-so.

Nakshatra is a perfect example of cinema made taking for granted that the audience’s intelligence level is that of a thirteen-year-old!

CrimeCraft is a persistent world shooter with a mixture of RPG elements and Third Person Shooter kind of game where people gain rank up, customize their character and choose gun skill etc. The fights happen into a specific maps where two team face each others and it feel a little like a Warrock or Combat Arm style gameplay. Normally you can have up to 3 gun on your character, but being a bad sniper, finding the rocket launcher cheat and disliking the grenade launcher... I choose not to have the skills for the third gun. This video was recorded while i was a lvl 21 and 13rd rank as a pvp player at that time. I was in the Blood Dragon Gang and the funny thing is that in this team deadmatch the leading player of the other team was in my gang we ended up having both 30 kill but i got the highest score (probably because of melee kills). I think that video is fairly representative of the kind of action you may have in this game

Tropico de Sangre (English: Tropic of Blood) is a dramatic film based on the true story of the Dominican Republic's historic Mirabal sisters. The film focuses on Minerva Mirabal and tells the true story of how she and her sisters came to represent the greatest threat to dictator Rafael Trujillo and his regime. The Mirabal sisters were in involed in an underground movement against the government. They were assassinated in 1960 by men under the instruction of the Luis Amiama Tio according to Pupo Roman, although their death was made to appear as an automobile accident. Many citizens were outraged and a few months later Trujillo was assassinated by an ambush lead by Antonio de La Maza, who was played by actor Cesar Evora.
