Sixty-Three Years of Service: The Wednesday Deal Turns to Gospel By Dave Wilson

2026-10-08T13:13:15.420-05:00

Some weeks call for the blues. This week calls for the choir. This week, the Quinn Records TM Wednesday Deal is all gospel. At the center of it is Sixty-Three Years of Service For The Lord by Leroy Crisp & The Original Southern Harmonizers. A title like that doesn’t need much explaining. It’s quartet gospel the way it was meant to be sung: harmonies built over a lifetime of Sunday mornings, testimony set to music, and a sound that carries the tradition forward. The Original Southern Harmonizers are in good company this week. Rev. Anderson Sparks brings Got Something Money Can’t Buy (QR011117-1). Albert Phillips & The Divine Messengers deliver A Message From The Messengers (QR051129-1). The Masonic Quintet of Waukegan, Illinois, whose Songs We’ll Never Forget remains one of the label’s best sellers, returns with Do You Know Him (QR031119-1). Both volumes of the Gospel Millennium Storybook round out the lineup with a cross-section of the label’s gospel roster. This is the music Quinn Records TM was built to preserve, and it’s still here for anyone who wants to bring it home.
