Meditation is the art of being aware and conscious in our day to day living.No one can tell how much time any one will take in learning meditation, so it helps to be patient and relaxed while we are on the path of meditation.There are many things which can facilitate meditation. One such is the Baoding ball. Know how to use this Chinese meditation ball.
Baoding ball is popularly known as the Chinese meditation ball. It is a ball originally composed of iron. It is called
Baoding ball because it originated in Baoding China. These balls are usually used for exercise and meditation. It is said that the balls can effectively calm your mind and you body. It improves blood circulation to the different parts of the body and relaxes the different muscle joints. It comes in different colors designs and sizes and each design has a symbolic meaning on it.
Steps in the proper use of the Baoding balls:
1. Choose the right type of baoding balls for your hand. If you are just a beginner, start with a small size of baoding balls. Through time, you can move on to a much bigger ball if you have already developed the technique. The size of the baoding balls depend on the size of your palms.
2. Get a hold of one baoding ball. Try to rotate the ball in your palm and fingers. Let the ball run from your palms to your different fingers from the thumb to the opposite end. Develop a technique or strategy. Then transfer the ball to your other hand. Do the same routine.
3. Once you already developed a technique, try to add the other ball. Now this is the hard part. Rotate the two balls on your palm and fingers with out them touching each other. It takes time and practice to master this routine.
4. Once you’ve done it perfectly, rotate the balls in the opposite direction, again without letting them touch each other. It will really take dexterity and practice to master the art of spinning the baoding ball.
5. Transfer then the two balls into your other hand. Do the same routine. Concentrate and do this process slowly and at your own pace so that you may not harm yourself. Forcing yourself will only strain your hand and you will end up frustrated.
6. Proceed now with the next maneuver. Get a hold of one ball, toss it from one hand to the other. You are now then holding the ball alternately with your hand. Get then the second ball, now you are holding the two balls. Simultaneously toss the two baoding ball into the air and catch it in your palm. Do this repeatedly.
7. Another maneuver in using the baoding ball is the squeeze and relax. Get a hold of the ball, squeeze then the ball tightly to the point of creating tension in your palm. Slowly and gradually release then the ball. Do this slowly to attain relaxation in your hands. Do this maneuver and incorporate it with your breathing. When you squeeze the ball, that’s the time that you will inhale. As you slowly relax your hand, that’s the time that you exhale. So squeeze and inhale, relax and exhale.
8. Lastly, use the baoding ball in your feet. You may do this in a sitting or standing position. Position the ball under the ball of your foot. Try to rotate and manipulate the ball in a circular motion using your foot. Repeat this for a few cycles and do this step on you other foot. Proceed then with positioning the ball under your toes, try then to grip and add pressure to the ball using your toes. Then after you grip, relax slowly and gradually your toes. Do this same maneuver with the other foot.

I am sure this will be a great help for all of you who want to meditate and exercise and want a healthy life.

I am updating this blog after a long break but in this long break I collected some valuable wisdom for myself and for you all. Today let me share those pearls with you.

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about 15 minutes. After that, you'd better know something.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do, but to the best you can do.
I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important. It's what they do about it.
I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it, there are always two sides.
I've learned that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to think.
I've learned that you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I've learned that you should never tell a child her dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if she believed it
It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological.
I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I've learned that sometimes when my friends fight, I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to.

Lesson From A Little Frog

Some of the most memorable lessons in life come from stories. This story may sound like nursery fables but give you an important lesson of life and that is to have believe and faith in your self. World may say thousand words that may discourage you but if you go on trying and trying a day will come when all the doors of success will open in front of you and you will be on the top.
The Frogs and The Tower
There once was a bunch of tiny frogs...
... who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...
The race began...
Honestly, no-one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top".
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...
... Except for those who in a fresh tempo were climbing higher and higher...
The crowd continued to yell
"It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...
...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...
This one wouldn't give up!
At the end, everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how the one who succeeded had found the strength to reach the goal?
It turned out...
That the winner was deaf.

Why do we close our eyes when we sleep? When we cry?

Love, laughter, heroism, friendship, and virtually every emotion we feel as human beings can be inspired by words. Unfortunately, fear, anger, and hatred, can also be invoked by words.

Language is at its best when used to inspire others to find the best in themselves.

There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words....it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. How Full Is Your Bucket?

How Full is Your Bucket? by Tom Rath is a quick, but worthwhile read. The books subtitle really says it all, positive strategies for Work and Life. The book's main concept uses the metaphor of a bucket and a dipper. The bucket stores positive emotions. The ideal situation is where a bucket is full or overflowing bucket and at the other end of the spectrum is the undesired state of an empty bucket. The dipper on the other hand, either fills up or empties others' and our own buckets. We fill buckets by increasing positive emotions and empty buckets by decreasing positive emotions or via negativity. As simplistic and commonsensical as it sounds, this concept is backed by extensive research.

The introduction starts with early psychology and how it looked at "What's wrong with people". However, Don flipped the question and started researching on "What's right with people". Over the course of time, it was uncovered that human lives are shaped by interactions and these are rarely neutral. Most of our interactions are either negative or positive.

Negativity Kills. The authors' cite the example of the Korean War and how the American POWs were made to feel hopeless without using much physical torture. The Korean captors used the weapons of self-criticism and mistrust as well as withheld positive support to mentally break down the POWs. On the other hand, positivity increases productivity, loyalty, engagement in social circles and better customer care. The authors identify praise and recognition as the critical components of positivity.

We live in a negative culture where praise and recognition are rare. However, the authors caution that the praise and recognition given has to be personalized. "Employee of the month" type of praise and recognition hardly work as it is impersonal and almost everybody in the end ends up getting one. In the process, a lot of research is cited including an interesting one done by Elizabeth Hurlock which showed that children who were praised improved much more than those who were ignored or criticised.

Time and again throughout the book, the authors state the advantages of positive emotions and the disadvantages of negative emotions. The authors urge the readers to wisely use the daily countless moments of interactions to fill buckets and state that the magic ratio is 5-to-1 (5 positive interactions to 1 negative interaction). Studies prove link between optimism and lifespan. For example, cigarettes reduce lifespan on average by 5.5 yrs in males and 7 yrs in females but negative emotions have a deadlier effect on lifespan.

In the middle of the book, Tom presents his personal story of how optimism and 'bucket filling' helped him overcome a rare disorder called the Hippel-Lindau disease which causes unexpected tumours in the brain, pancreas and other body parts.

The authors' time and again urge to make bucket filling a daily practice in our personal lives. Furthermore, personalize the praise and recognition. The mantra "Individualise, Individualise, Individualise" is oft-repeated.

The book winds up with "Five Strategies for Increasing Positive Emotions".
