It is that time where I bust out my crafty closet goodies and get busy

and it is also that time where I drool over all of the crafty goodness

soooooo while I was thinking I looked at my chalkboard hanging in my living room and

it came to me...

my summer bucket list...

they are all over Pinterest and soooo

I pulled out my chalkboard markers and got to work...

First I asked bub and hub what were some of the things they wanted to do this summer

Bub kept telling me he wanted to go to Chicago or New York

to see the Ghost Busters... well that didn't make the list...

I am keepin things real!!!

there is NO way in Hello Kitty that I will be able to squeeze in a trip like that

and I gently reminded him of our vaycay plans to Disney...

ok I wasn't so gentle after he mentioned it for like the 113th time

so needless to say 99% of our Summer Bucket List items are on here...

I noticed after a little bit it started to get a little slanted....
and I tried to correct it...

and it obviously worked because as you can see they are perfectly straight...

I just let the slant be and kept going....

I must say
my whole family was pretty impressed

I even sent a text to MY mama and she was like

not really but enough likes that it just tells me (blank) likes....

FIVE, Rocked the House, and toots

FIVE for FRIDAY!!!
WHOO HOO!!!!
so excited to be back in this party...

so I am not so sure about you

BUT today was my last day

and well I am excited

this week has been cray cray on crack

B.U.S.Y

MONDAY

was the Senior Elephant Walk

the graduating seniors from the high school come back to their elementary

and walk through the halls to see their former teachers

and to encourage the little kids to stay in school

I LOVE THIS WALK!!!!

this group of kiddos was one of my faves!!!

with some of my girls.... I had these beauties in 3rd grade...

I feel old

aren't they BEEUTEEFULL???

as they walked by the first time

I handed all of my kiddos these little treats...

they were suppose to look like little popsicles but what ev...

I felt sorry for the kiddos that didn't get one but hey...

they didn't have me so no treat for you :)

plus I would have had to buy like 40 of these...

ahhhh I am a teacher not a NBA player

TUESDAY

This was a bitter sweet day....

one of our co-workers was diagnosed with breast cancer

and we had surprise PINK day at our school

for her

after school we had a team photo and a prayer circle

(she was having a mastectomy the next day)

WEDNESDAY

we had a peti mani end of the year party...
my hall mates andI had pinterest pics to help us get the perfect pedis...
it was fun...

THURSDAY

LOTS of schtuff for Thursday...

we finished our art project...

sorry I didn't take progressive pics...

just final product pics...

basically we got 8X10 canvases

painted them in their fave color....

collaged (kinda)

and then layered a personal transparency pic on top...

these pics don't do it justice...

these turned out pretty cute

not as cute as last years

SHINE project but still nice *wink*

we also ROCKED the HOUSE (cafeteria) at the last awards ceremony

because we took

FIRST PLACE in the city's Water Poster contest...

and....

third, second, first, and GRAND CHAMPION in the animal shelter poster contest...

OH YEAH!!!

this teacher was

HAPPY

and no I am not competitive at all

my across the hall 3rd grade bestie

these were super cool

and they laid them out in the hall to dry and the 4thies

FRIDAY

YAY....

I handed out my good bye gifts...

the kids got one of these...

they are mini-recorders

but all year I have been calling them tooty toots...

the kids think that is funny....

in 4th grade our music teacher

teaches the kiddos to play the recorder...

they love it.... sooooo

I thought they would love these...

and then I couldn't forget my friends....

hubs helped me with the saying...

I passed these out without the kids around...

the saying is a little on the naughty side BUT I got good laughs

and that is what counts....

i added a little
sumthin sumthin on the back of the bubbles...

well that is it...
I am tired
that was FIVE days of cray cray on crack!!!
and I didn't even include....
retirement party for 3 of our teachers
decoration crew for retirement party (sorry no pics)
interview committee all day with 8 interviews
talent show (not me the kids)
end of year after party
sealing my schtuff off from summer school teacher...
and I think that is it...
I am too tired to think anymore

kissing frogs, getting our geek on, and heart melting

I feel like I have just taken a little vaycay from my blog
I have no excuses
NONE
I have been UBER busy
today I had plans with little man BUT it is RAINING
remember that word in this here blog because that does NOT happen
in my part of the woods
we were fixing to head in to stage 2 drought water restrictions and
now I think we have gotten like 7 inches in two days....
and that my friends explains why my kiddos were whack a doodle yesterday!!!

FO SHO I blame weather on their behavior
with this group it is a little harder to do that because
CRAY is our everyday but yesterday was like
CRAY CRAY on CRACK and well what else do I blame
WEATHER!!!

so what have we been up to....
2weeks worth or more
probably more

my sweet dad
had surgery...
he is on the mend still BUT doing much much better

don't you love how he has his phone

got my hair done again...
yes I change my hair with the months...
my hair diva is a close family friend and I love seeing her
this was on my bday
look I got my nails done too and
got a Texas mustache shirt and
AND AND I got to drive
THE JEEP!!!

Bub has been spelling things like crazy
he loves writing his name and spelling it out with whatever he can...
I though this was CUH-UTE!!!

had a date night with hubs downtown San Antonio...
that was fun!!!
I think I need to join an intervention for too many selflies
I take way too many self portraits...
LOL

my baby brother graduated from college...
they are sporting the UTSA ROADRUNNER sign

we found a tree frog
it was amazing...

no worries I didn't kiss it

we got our geek on with our SUPER HERO masks
my school's field day was super hero themed...
so cool....

mom even geeked out

one of my former kiddos...love her
this was after the teachers participated in a water relay...
i got a little wet

went to the Renegade Craft Fair in Austin

don't let that precious smile fool you...
he was a tooty toot the whole time...
seriously...

we had a little trip to BUCEES
love that place

been reading a lot of this for night time
yes I married a geek
and it is rubbing off on my bubs
that's OK I love my little geeks

Drew taught MEMOW how to play a game on the phone

LOVE IT

we have been working on our camouflage handprints
SO FUN
it is a great end of the year project...
here is the 411
they trace their hands
and find a place in the room to pace it...
BUT first they have to make it camouflage
they LOVE IT

can you even see this ZEBRA one???

I will have more pics of this later because every class is doing it and then we get to go into the other classes and CHOMP their hands...
it proves that good camo helps in survival
the kiddos love this and it is a super easy and FUN activity

we also went to the art show
this cracks me up
because our art teachers were FIRED because of budget cuts last year
BUT the district required us to put together an art show anyway
IMO this was ridiculous...
our kinder teacher and a teacher's aide spent countless hours on our presentation
and it showed
ours was by far the BESTEST elementary display
the art show is staged in the local mall
BUT it had to be manned so those two stayed down there too
here are pics of what my kiddos did...

and honestly we wouldn't have had time to do some of these pieces if it weren't for
some insane opossum dying in my ceiling
and creating a decomposing slime trail down my wall
and my class having to be relocated without any of our things
proud of my kids for their awesome works of art...
finges crossed art teachers are in our future because
KIDS LOVE ART

while at the mall
we had a little family dinner

we stayed too late... shopping and looking
and got locked out of the store we parked at
and had to take a SPOOKY backdoor exit...
SCAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

been doing some fun morning journals

and this was the heart-warmng response that I got from
one of the sweeties!!!

hubs knew my week was stressfull...
our scores came in and
there were all kinds of changes in who is teaching what grade
and let's just say I am the only one left in 4th
my buddies went to 1st and 3rd....
WHAAAAA
and add to that I am now the 4th grade head teacher....
NO STRESS
there were changes in EVERY grade
3 teachers are retiring
one teacher might move to Dallas
soooo see stress
add to that 2 of the teachers retiring I had my heart on Bubs being in their classes...
so I want to cry
anywho
hubs and bubs took me out...

This week was a STATE TESTING week... BLEH

excuse me I think I just threw up in my mouth!!!

OK back to blessings

since the last week was that...

we didn't do too much in the classroom

BUT what we did do I took pics of it

I have to say our new custodian is
AWESOME...
his first day was the day I discovered the
OPOSSUM DEATH
so he was initiated into our school family on a very sour slimy note!!!
and now my room has flies...
lots and lots of FLIES
GIANT FLIES
and let's just say they were actively monitoring during the test too...
I know I have personally swatted over 30 of them into little fly heaven...
and let me tell you they are HUGE.
and SUPER SLOW
I think they are full on opossum guts
but hey what do I know...

got my new computer...

I decided on a MAC and I am so excited I did!!!

this is a pic of all the "geeks" getting my mac just the way I like it

they were super sweet and set it up

just for me...

they bookmarked stuff and set up my numerous email accounts and all kinds of stuff...

TWO

my mama and I LOVE going to auctions

and the big red barn auction in San Marcos, Texas is one of our FAVES

so we had a girls day

I wanted this big bad boy

but I ended up at my top price and it still went for couple hundred above that

WHAAAAAA

still wish I would have gone for it

oh well

guess I will have to go to another auction

another thing I spotted at the auction

right from the beginning was this GIANT MOOSE

OH I wanted this moose so BAD

we waited and WAITED for the moose to come up...

and waited some more

the more I waited the more I thought of all the fun things I could do with this in my

CLASSROOM

yeppers in my CLASS

I had thoughts of bunny ears for Easter, a red nose and Santa hat for Christmas, giant sunglasses and a beach towel for summer vaycay,

I mean these thoughts just kept popping up and every time I thought of a new costume I got more excited

I finally went up to one of the auction assistants and asked when he would be coming up

and

with tears in my eyes I am going to tell you this....

he said it was already auctioned off a few weeks ago

BUT the owner hasn't picked him up yet

WHAAAAA

the new owner obviously does NOT appreciate McConaughey the Moose the way I would

he would have a HAPPY 4ever home with me!!!

WHAAAAAAA

so if you have a giant moose head you are looking to get rid of or know someone that does
and you want to help me in my moosey dreams
please let me know
needless to say my little fam is going to a market days tomorrow and first on my list is
GIANT MOOSE HEAD!!!

ok school related

we have been doing quick reviews on poetry and reading and dramas
and everything else I can
squeeze into their little 4th grade brains
to do a final last minute prep for
THE TEST
yes we have another TEST
2 to be exact...
we took the writing test a few weeks ago and next week we have
reading and math

I was getting a little sad with the thought of me leaving my room...

1970's car smell, Farley and the DELL, and FIVE for FRIDAY

Well ladies and gents...
the opossum situation is somewhat resolved!!!
We are back in our room BUT
it still has a lingering odor of this crazy smelling deodorizer thingy ma bob that they placed in my ceiling.
SERIOUSLY I kinda would prefer the slime smell...
OK not really but this deodorizer was OBViously picked out by a MAN...
I can only think that it is probably named
1970's mirror hanging car deodorizer
good news is I got a completely new ceiling, my room has never been cleaner (it was sanitized and disinfected more than once), and I get to teach with my windows open to help get the 1970s smell out... not so bad...
and side note the deodorizer thingy is suppose to be dissolved within 2 weeks...
one down one to go :)

and I know it is Saturday BUT I love linking up with Doodle Bugs

has the blue screen of death and
after some awesome customer service said the Farleys NEVER
they said there is nothing they can do for me except for me to send it into them and they will replace it...
WHY WOULD I want a NEW one...this one IS NEW and it already DIED...

and they said that they couldn't save my files
all of my stuff ( I know I should have backed it up)
all of my stuff would be lost forever in cyber space...
hopefully it is swirling on a glitter galaxy or greatness

seriously my laptop is less than 3 months old...

So I posted this yesterday
on my facebook page...

So came to school today... Needing to prep my room for THE STATE test tomorrow and a opossum decided to die in my ceiling over the 3 day weekend!!! I have a ceiling tile oozing red and yellow dead critter slime, my room smells like dead opossum nastiness, and apparently GIANT flies are having a complete life cycle party within the deceased animal because they are buzzing all around too. So what did I do??? I turned on my scentsy and high tailed it out of there!!! How was your day?

Yep that happened to me yesterday...
can you believe people actually questioned if it was an April Fools Joke...
PEOPLE I cannot make this possum slime up!!!
IT REALLY HAPPENED...
I was told today that we will not be back into our class until Monday...
MAJOR cleaning and disinfecting will be going on!!!
MAJOR!!!!

well today was the test and
after I promised my first born if I make a mistake while administering the test...
which is funny if you REALLY KNOW ME...
well after that and while I was on my 10th mile of active monitoring...
I started thinking about that rotten opossum and how the stinky slime that oozed down our wall and through the tiles was kinda like a metaphor to State Testing...

It stinks....

so here are some way random things...

I already posted about this BUT this was really fun and it was even better delivering them!!!

I was feeling YUCKY on Monday and stayed home!!! My little dog was confused... she kept checking on me.

My nephew turned FIVE... time flies by so fast. K (my nephew) and Bub are 6 months apart.

I can't believe how excited my kiddos were to do this. I get excited for them to do these too!!!
they didn't want to stop for specials... I made them... teacher needed a break!!!

SO I AM MEAN!!! My kiddos are like PEEPS in a microwave... about to explode... and their behavior would not be featured in a Miss Manners Magazine so in order to control some unwanted behaviors and keep me sane.. I came up with my CHICK CASH... I only did this for this craft... so they had to earn a chick.... be good and do your best.. that is all I ask adn if they strayed away I took it back... YES I DID!!!
and if they still had their chick... they had to solve it correctly... they should solve it correctly... we have only been working on this since OH FOREVER!!!! and then and ONLY then could they make their ADORB Easter Treat!!!
NOTE...kids pictured above are not my kiddos from this year!!! they are my kiddos from last year and are the offspring of my best teaching buddies so they just got to make them for being cute... and under the promise I get to take their PIC... of course they said YES because I am their FAVORITE TEACHER EVA... and shhhhh one of them has their mom this year as a teacher and I am still HIS favorite... HA HA HA!!! HEE HEE HEE *wink*

Easter Craft, smoosh, & peeps

I am going to try to make this a SUPER

QUICK

EASY

TUTORIAL

on an EASTER CRAFTY CRAFT

I am making with my fourthies

and I tested it out with my 4 year old...

so it is safe to say it is good for ages

4 and up...

hang on to your panties grannies cause here we go

GATHER your supplies...

all materials were bought at my local TARGET...
I try to find any excuse to shop there so
here is yours...
and yes that is edible grass

don't forget the PEEPS!!!
oh and ribbon you need ribbon
BUT I forgot to take a pic of that
BUT anywho... you need ribbon
it was found in my craft cabinet
BUT I am sure Target has ribbon too

NEXT...

squirt some icing into the bottom of the cup
smoosh (like my technical term)
SMOOSH about 1/4 of the grass into the bottom of the cup...
be sure to smoosh around the edges...

put icing on bottom of peep
place peep in cup onto edible grass
get a few eggs
put icing on the bottom of those and place next to peep
we tried to hide the marshmallow scar from the separation of the conjoined peeps

that could be it... it is cute like that... it is...

BUT

I couldn't stop there...

I poked holes into the sides of the cups...

I had to use the tip of my hot glue gun... to burn the holes through...

ADULTS ONLY for this

do you see the holes????

then I pulled ribbon through the holes and WHA LAAA

I used different ribbons
because I am like that and well I was using ribbon scraps and that's what I had...

soooooo what do you think....
super easy...
even a 4 year old can do it...
NOT THE BURNING A HOLE THROUGH THE CUP PART...
do that before hand...
but it is pretty simple and not too too expensive...
I am pretty sure my kiddos will love it...
I thought about making them write about their favorite PEEP or something but ...
I won't

Drew and I didn't stop there...
we decided to make cupcakes too...
these were not for my kiddos
BUT could be...
we decided to deliver them to family and friends instead!!!

so you do the same thing as above....
smooshing the grass in the glass and all...
make sure you smoosh it real good...
BUT don't smoosh it too much because you want it to still look like grass

We made our cupcakes in a little silicone pot but you could do it like normal...
I got the silicon pots in the Easter section at TARGET... holla

ok so after you get over how cute the flowerpot PLUS chocolate cupcake looks
squirt icing on the top... don't be neat.... it will be hidden
but if you are OCD go ahead and make it neat...
I know you have too (HEATHER I LOVE YOU)

then you are going to take your grass nest out and place it on top of your iced cupcake...

BLURRY PIC ALERT...
put a big glob of icing on the back of the peep...
see it is super clear in this blurry pic *wink*

stick it on your nest

grab a few eggs... add icing and stick them on...
remember to hide the marshmallow scar...

done...

Pile It On, Bundled, and First 3

SOOOO I have something to share with you....
I have to admit...
I LOVE making these :)
and my kiddos LOVE them too!!!
It all started with this one....

my kids LOVED this
and had a blast reviewing math skills using a station geared
for OLDER KIDS...
here are some pics of how I set up the station
(back in November)

they solve the problems
and then go and search
for the strips that need to be piled on
their plate

well ever since they loved this Pile It On activity
and buyers responded so well to it

Friday Tears, Sea World, and a Jeep

It is Friday...
I didn't even want to type that word because
my Spring Break has come to an end....
WHAAAAAAAAAAA
please hold while I wipe my tears away!!!
Seriously I LOVE being home with Bub and I needed a break for sure!!!
BUT
now I have to start thinking about W-O-R-K
NO I will not
I won't do it!!!
I would rather do all of my laundry
(and put it away... I hate that part)
I will wait til Sunday night because I still have some Spring Break left!!!

Hubs knew EXACTLY how to start off my Spring Break...
he got us tickets to the local hockey game...
I LOVE HOCKEY
before Bub, we went to all the games
but after Bub, my fear of flying hockey pucks took over and well lives just get busier
SOOOO we stopped going
and I will only go if we sit behind the goalie because the BIG safety net is protecting me
and the fam from PUCKS!!!
I know from experience...those suckers hurt... I got hit by one (twice in the same year)
a few years back
NOT FUN!!!
anywho... our seats were FAB
and the game was AWESOME... we lost BUT it was a good game

I made a goal to walk 50 miles this Spring Break...
what the H to the E-L-L was I thinking???
really 50 miles in one week...
Ok so after the 2nd day of walking and I was only at like mile 2.5
and had a grand total of 7 miles (maybe)
and I was dying...
my leg hurt...
my feet were killing me
I was dying y'all
my foot was doing some kinda zombie flat foot walk...
my butt cheek was begging for me to stop...
I pushed myself another mile (maybe)
and then I had to do it...
I called hubby to come and get me...
but not until I took this pic...
the Bluebonnets are GORG in my neighborhood
this is at one of my favorite houses in the neighborhood...
aren't they PURTY???
anyways... I was telling hubs (in the car) I made a goal of 50 miles and he just kinda snickered...
not nice
BUT true
I made him take me to get breakfast and we did...
every Sunday after I walk we go to my FAVE Panera..
so I talked to him about what would be a reasonable goal and well
I lowered it to 20 miles and well I only need 6 more miles... YIPPEE!!!

We went to Sea World on Wednesday
with some of my favorite people!!!
I taught both of them!!!
and their mama is one of my besties!!!
we had a blast... and I am not gonna lie... I tracked my miles here
and that is how I am so close to my goal!!!

we had a great time until SHAMU
decided to splash us
NOT FUN
I was in the NON SPLASH ZONE
and the rest of the group sat in the SPLASH ZONE
so of course they should get wet...
ME
I don't do salt water
and I got SOAKED too
NOT FUN
well that ended our trip...
Bub decided SHAMU is naughty
and I decided I need to write a letter to Sea World
explaining they need to increase their SPLASH ZONE WARNING by about 4 rows...
YUCK!!!!
not to mention we smelled...
like fish and probably whale...
OH my gosh JUST the thought of what is in that water
makes me ILL
moving on!!!

NOT ME!!!
Hubs got one
I won't hold it against him
well maybe a little!!!
If you remember I was in LOVE with a Mango Tango Jeep in the SUMMER
but when we came back from vaycay
it was gone... insert tear!!!
I seriously was sad and frowny for a few days but got over it!!!
A few weeks later I got my truck (which I love) BUT it is not a JEEP!!!
A JEEP with big wheels and RIMS and a sound system I can't bust and well
that is what Hubs got yesterday... YAY for him!!!
In all seriousness I am happy for my Hubby... he deserves a new car!!
He works very hard for our family and always SPOILS me
he has gone through a lot these past few months and has been a real trooper!!!
I am proud of his courage, strength, and tenacity when it came to being the executor of his mom's estate...
it was and still is an everyday thing we have to work through and he has been AMAZING!!!
he deserves to treat himself... even if it is like my dream car just white... BUT
he deserves it and PLUS he LOOKS HOT in it... not gonna LIE!!!

and I am sure he will let me drive it!!! *wink*

we moved into an older neighborhood years ago...
so my neighbors are getting up in the years
and imagine if you will...
across the street from me is Mrs. Maxine
she just lost her hubby in November... we loved Mr. Johnny
and then next door to Mrs. M
is Mrs. S
bless her heart she lost her husband a few years ago and
she is not doing well...
she has around the clock home nurses to help her get around
and then next door to Mrs. S is Mrs. Sandy
she too lost her hubby a few years ago
BUT she is very active and on the go
she is hardly ever home and well I don't have to worry too much about her
and then next door to Mrs. Sandy (are you still with me???)
is Mrs. Betty...
she also lost her husband
almost a year ago this month
I know this month must be hard for her and her kiddos live out of town
SOOOOOO we of course delivered a Jar of Happiness to Mrs. Betty
today...
you should have seen her face... it was priceless
I had a pic of it...
and a pic of her with Bub
but well they are maybe on a cloud or just gone...
oh well

BUT
because all of my little old ladies across the street talk to one another
Bubs and I will be making one for all of them too...
and I'll get pics of that!!!

YAY I made it...
it is Saturday and my Spring Break has officially begun
HOLLA!!!
I wish I had some great teaching things to share with you BUT....
I do NOT!!! whaaa

we had CBAs (aka kinda benchmark testing) most of the week and
then we had a half day which I was not there for
I was getting my boobies smashed... more about that later...

Goodwills around the country get donations that are actually highly collectible or
REALLY valuable... and so instead of selling these item in the store they
put them online...
Hubs of course searches for nerd gear and
I look for important things like Fire King.
vintage Farley Candy Advertising, and other totally random stuff!!!
I have won quite a few things BUT I will warn you right now...
shipping and handling can be pricey... be sure to check that before finalizing
your bid...it all depends on what Goodwill it is coming from...
some think their handling should be more than others...

we got Bub some storage for his toys...
he has basically taken over the front den with all of his SCHTUFF
and I was going NUTSO
so we found this unit at COSTCO and it is a great solution
each basket is themed...
cars, Angry Birds, blocks, puzzles, Star Wars, games, Legos, and one more I can't remember...
but the rule is only ONE basket can be out at a time...
and then if he wants another basket... then he has to clean up the contents of that basket put it back and then he can get the next basket...
it has been working GREAT!!!
and the playroom/front den has never been cleaner...

Rachel's Sentence Stretchers have been a life saver...
My kiddos hardly ever make shorty short short sentences now!!!
and they loved the task cards...
I did 10-12 cards a day and I taped them around the room
so they had to travel around the room to complete the activity...
they LOVE this!!! and believe it or not they don't get toooo hyper :)

I was NERVOUS!!!!
my mom is a breast cancer survivor...
double mastectomy
with reconstruction
nice new tatas and no more cancer YAY

well anyways I needed to get my mammogram and
yesterday was my first time
I am not gonna lie...
it hurt a little and I never knew my girls could go so flat...
I opted for the 3d imaging and so I should get my results on Monday

I was hoping to get them yesterday
BUT since I was just a screening I will find out Monday
YES I am nervous... that is just how I am!!!
but I am also mad
I am mad because in order to get the 3d imaging I had to pay an extra $50
I can afford that
but many people that came into the imaging center after me
could not
and DECLINED it...
I saw about
this is the best way to find breast cancer
and I am not sure why it has to be an extra fee... it should just be the norm
it made me very upset!!! VERY!!!
Women should not have to pay an extra fee to get the best imagining available
early detection is the key to fighting breast cancer
not fair...
if boys had to get their manly parts squeezed flat to check for cancer
I am sure the best imaging wouldn't be an upgraded fee
think about it!!!

she is a 2nd grade teacher from San Diego...

her newest creation is super cutesy...

There are 6 pages of activities in each book, two sorts (one simple, one advanced), and some other word finding/organizing activities. Kate made this to be a streamlined process for the entire year of Word Study. They are great for the whole class and for interventions later in the year. These are super duper easy to prep (which I love!!) and they help keep the sound/spelling patterns organized for the year. This product includes ten mini-workbooks. There are pictures to anchor the spelling patterns. The patterns are long vowels, diphthongs (laugh every time I say this word), and r-controlled vowels.

These are so cool because this is a really tough skill, but this makes it super fun! It can be used as a center, but gets the kids up and moving. Kate is a genius and scatters the bags all around the room and lets the kiddos wander and work. It's really engaging and a great intro to teaching expository writing. Non-Fiction and Fiction available.... Yeah!

Epic Fail, Rodeo Fever, and not to scale

I had every intention to actually get this posted on Friday
but an impromptu trip to the Pottery Barn Outlet about 30- 45 minutes away
got between me and my blogging
and I was super sad girl when all of the couches I loved
were either too small or not comfy or way pricey...
so couch hunt 2013 continues!!!
but the trip was not a total loss I did get a great wallet from the Kate Spade Outlet...
and it was like 40% off and then another 20% off of that
which for you math geniuses is NOT 60% off
because it just isn't
but I told hubs it was and well
40 PLUS 20 does equal 60
and when I have to confess to the OCD money man (AKA hubs)
when he asked did you get a good deal... it sounded better... RIGHT?

but alas I am here
on the chair not from Pottery Barn
smiling about my new wallet but not wanting to break it in QUITE yet...

we have been working SUPER SUPER HARD to get my MIL's house ready to go on the market...
my family...
parents, sibling and sibling in laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends
have ALL been helping out A LOT....
so I decided to buy dinner one night...
I kept thinking about the Pizza Hut commercial and those yummy SLIDERS...
sooooooo that is what we ordered and

I was feeling a little ill on Tuesday
I think I had RODEO Fever
so the only cure is to go to the RODEO...
so I grabbed my cutest cowboy
and we headed down to the RODEO grounds...
and we just so happened to meet one of my besties
who also had the fever...I think it is contagious
and it just so happened that KINDER was on a field trip
OH MY GOODNESS
at the RODEO
so we tagged along...
bub was so excited to be the caboose
for one of the kinder lines...

well I have been sporting a party on my wrist and
all of my favorite bracelets are invited
bracelet parties are so much fun...

so what do you do when you are teaching aaawwuubbis and some of your kiddos are NOT getting it...
well you have a contest...
AH-MAZING how fast they catch on...
we have been studying how to make a complex sentence using subordinating conjunctions...
just the words SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS... makes their little brains turn off...really it does...
it goes into a little automatic shut down phase
kinda like when they see a multistep math problem
BUT when you call it AAAWWUUBBISS
the brain stays on...

ok so they know what they are...
some can write them
BUT I wasn't 100 percent sure they were COMPLETELY
and totally getting it...
sooooo
I threw a contest...
each group got a different colored post it and during their reading time they had to be on the look out for SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS....
each kiddo could only put one sticky in each box
and once the box was full
no more stickies were allowed
it was more peer pressure than teacher pressure to get the stickies up there
they had to come to me to get it approved
WAS IT STICK WORTHY...
they also had a recording sheet
so it went like this...
read as a writer looking for SC
find it and show it to Farley
they had to prove it... explaining why it was a SC
(could quickly tell who got it and who needed more help)
if it was worthy they recorded it on their sheet and a sticky
and then the search went on...

as the game went on... the slower ones were being taught by the quicker ones
because remember each person could only post once in each square so if they found another one for that square they had to have another group member come to me and prove it... so the quicker ones were teaching (or reteaching) the slower ones
it really helped
we played this game for 2 days because they LOVED IT...
haven't figured out the winner yet...
probably green...
blue is apart of yellow because I ran out of yellow... ooops

back on my healthy eating
and with this little baby it will be much easier to make my smoothies
thanks hubby for my new blender
right now I am blending....
1 small banana, 1 small orange (sometimes) , 1/2 a cup of blueberries, 1 cup of spinach leaves, and 1/2 cup of greek yogurt... oh and 1 cup of ice... BLEND BLEND BLEND...

you have a nice yummy smoothie
it is a little odd in color BUT
it is yummy
I take it to school and sip on it all morning
NOTE**** I do NOT take it in a Margaritaville blender cup to school
that was my cup for this morning...
it is one of my favorite things to drink out of... hardly ever a margarita in it...
OK only the day I got it did it have a margarita in it...
so the cup gets lonely and it is my duty to make it happy so...
it is now my official weekend smoothie glass...
