After listening to several interviews of Eric Margolis on the current events in the Muslim world, I could not wait to get my hands on his first book War at the Top of the World: The Struggle for Afghanistan, Kashmir and Tibet, Revised Edition. Eric Margolis is a true war correspondent who has lived and met with the who's who of the Muslim world and most importantly knows the history, culture and the geography of from West, North, East Africa, Middle East to the Stan countries in Asia. However, this incredible book focuses in the region between China, India & Pakistan and it explains in easy to read writing the complex relations especially issues surrounding Tibet and the Kashmir region. This book goes into detail about the recent history, culture and the incredible atrocities committed by all sides. Mr. Margolis also does a great job explaining the Western role and the grave danger which can come out of this otherwise unknown region to most American. If you appreciate history, Geo-politics and current global events you must read this book.

After reading War at the Top of the World: The Struggle for Afghanistan, Kashmir and Tibet, Revised Edition, I could not help but continue with American Raj: Liberation or Domination?: Resolving the Conflict Between the West and the Muslim World which was a book which I could not put down. This great book addresses the relationship between the many Muslim countries and the Western Europe predominantly Great Britain, France along with Soviet Union now Russia, however the main focus is that of the Israel & United States. It is also a breath of fresh air to read a book dealing with such topic in which the author remains un-bias and simply relates the facts. If you read this book I'll guarantee you that you will know more about this US-Muslim world relationship than 95% of the Americans. Its a shame that more people are not aware about Eric Margolis & his two incredibly informative and reliable books.

After following Professor Walter E Williams through many of his interviews I decided to pick up his most recent book Race and Economics: How Much Can Be Blamed on Discrimination? (HOOVER INST PRESS PUBLICATION). Professor Walter E Williams along with Thomas Sowell are two of my favorite economist today and I appreciate the simplicity and clarity which he articulates issues especially in the African American and the so called minority community. If you consider yourself part of the so called minority, black or Hispanic community and you are concerned about the overall conditions, look no further than Professor Walther E Williams and Thomas Sowell. Although a recent book, this is a good starting point.

This book is clearly not for everyone, but it is well researched and very logical and I appreciate the historical context and the author's courage and knowledge.
If you appreciate religion & history as a curriculum you will love this book and it is an easy read. It stresses the relationships between the many different civilizations which existed in today's Middle East Region & Africa on how they borrowed from each other and in some cases plagiarized. But the key focus is the character of Jesus Christ. This is definitely one of the most eye opening read I've experience, it will shake your religious belief at its core.

I first heard about this book from a reference on The Road to Serfdom: Text and Documents--The Definitive Edition (The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek, Volume 2). This is a masterpiece! Essays written over 2 centuries ago which is still relevant to our current conditions. Bastiat breaks down in a simplified &concise manner the consequences of government interference in the free market. But most importantly these essays caution us that whenever we violate or disregard free market principals the unseen consequences are greater than the seen and intended results. This should be required reading.

Another master piece, and incredible read. I am amazed that it took me this long to discover this book. If you are in the legal field or a concerned citizen I highly encourage that you read this incredible book. Bastiat breaks down law & how it is misused and leveraged by those who are drunken with power and the impact to the mass.

This is a great book for anyone seeking a clear understanding of the history of the Federal Reserve System, its genesis, purposes and implications. I enjoy reading the late great Murray Rothbard and this is an amazing book. Not only was Murray Rothbard a great economist, but his knowledge of history especially US history is impressive. I had initially read his other great book What Has Government Done to Our Money?which also is a must read for any concerned citizen.

Wow, this has got to be one of the best books I've read thus far! Walter Block is one courageous man for having the guts to not only entertain but to rationally defend all the individuals which we are wired to treat as villains & detest in our society.
Nevertheless, I appreciate professor Block's acute diagnosis of the so called villain not only from a moral but also from an economical perspective. This is an easy read, yet incredibly concise and it has definitely broaden my view overall. This book reminds me alot of another great book I read 3 years ago Vices Are Not Crimes: A Vindication Of Moral Liberty (American Classics).
Just goes to show, if we can all just apply the Golden Rule "Treat others as you would like to be treated" consistently, our society would be 1000 times better! Read this book than give it to a friend.

I heard about this book about two years ago, however last December I came across it by mistake and decided to pick it up mostly out of curiosity and it did not disappoint. Arthur Koaestler was a renowned writer who wrote lots of other great books, however The 13th Tribe is his most famous work. Although it did get a little boring half way, it quickly became very interesting and I got through it smoothly. (slow reader) If you have any interest in the Jewish people at all, The 13th Tribe has got to be a must read from a historical perspective. I personally had many reasons to read it, first for its historical scholarship, secondly I am a great admirer of many great minds of Jewish decent (especially the Austrian Economics Scholars) and lastly because I wanted to evaluated its religious context. Great book!

This book surprised me the most simply because the title alone could not have prepared me for the pages ahead. Even though it's a short book, it has got to be considered a masterpiece as far as political thought is concerned. This book is as Murray Rothbard so eloquently articulated the direct opposite of The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli which I read 3 years ago due to the strong influence of the late great Tupac Shakur.
Where The Prince advices the tyrant on the devious actions to take in order to maintain or increase power, The Discourse on Voluntary Servitude informs the citizens on how to dethrone the tyrant in a non-violent manner. Machiavelli was despised and hated for centuries, unfortunately in the past 150 years it appears that most head of states have been eagerly adopting the teaching of Machiavelli. Therefore it's time that the people become acquainted with The Politics of Obedience: The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude.

Have you stop and looked up at the sky lately in the day time and wonder what happened to the blue sky and at night and ponder where are all the stars?
Have you noticed these planes flying throughout the day leaving behind a thick long lasting trail behind?

It is common knowledge today the Air Force is behind the spraying of toxic mixture of chemicals such as barium, aluminum salts, polymer fibers and silicon carbide. Nevertheless, the Air Force continues to claim that these activities are contrails, "streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air by an airplane or rocket at high altitudes." Although it has been largely ignored by the media and when pressed it's refuted, nevertheless the cat is out of the bag and this very dangerous experiment is being used on us like lab rats.

The potential motives are that the spraying is being used to combat global warming by blocking the sun while others believe that it's about manipulating the weather patterns or controlling the weather. However, some believe that the the Air Force is experimenting with the idea of using the weather as supre-weapon (WMD) in conjunction with the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) in Alaska. Others believe that there is a more sinister motive behind this activity which is to control food supply by introducing genetically mutated seed which are resistant to these chemicals unlike the organic ones.

The results of a decade of such activities are an extraordinary increase in respiratory illnesses on children, elders and now young adults especially in the more densely populated cities and towns. The fallout of these chemicals are also poisoning the pristine nature of heavily sprayed states such as California and the South Western states especially New Mexico. It's poisoning the lakes, and destroying the soils as well as reaping havoc on trees and vegetation.

I sincerely hope that the citizens of this country can wake up to this great danger!

A few days ago a good friend asked me for my opinion on Occupy Wall Street and I replied, they are occupying the wrong place, they should occupy K St., Capital Hill, Pennsylvania Ave. and the Federal Reserve!

I applaud and support every one's freedom of speech, press, assembly, and freedom of petition, however I also support one's right to negotiate and establish contracts.
I appreciate and even share the same frustration and disappointments of this protest however I also believe that this movement misdiagnosed the problem and instead they are focusing their energy and anger at the wrong crowd therefore occupying the wrong places.

Although there is alot of blame to go around in regards to our current economic conditions, the bulk of it should be attributed to our Federal Government, the Federal Reserve and the lobbyists on K st.
The other frustrating thing to me is the ignorance of many laying the blame on Capitalism, in which out of all the ISM one can choose Capitalism it is not, instead call it Corporatism, Fascism, or Cronyism.

The sad reality is that the US political system today is dominated by the industrial complexes made up of the biggest corporations in its respective industries. I suppose one can start with the House of Rockefeller, House of JP Morgan along with the Rothschild coming together to essentially create the Federal Reserve System thus birthing cronyism as we know it.

Essentially, the bigger corporations unite to create a cartel in which they hire well connected lobbyists (some former politicians) to push their agenda through laws, regulations, corporate welfare, bailouts and government contracts. They invest millions of dollars through the Political Action Committees and fund raisers in donations to candidates who are most sympathetic to their agenda. Due to the extreme high cost of campaigning candidates understand early on who's buttering their bread and in fact most candidates are actually chosen by them.

Once in office especially in the Executive branch majority of the cabinet positions are filled by upper management and former CEO's of these same corporations who are now in a position of power to facilitate their industrial complexes. Regulatory agencies are created and manipulated by these same cartel to deprive the free market of competition and eventually hurting the consumers which is the public they pretend to protect.

Propaganda are manufactured justifying corporate welfare worth billions of dollars at the expense of the tax payers and through deficit spending in which our government borrows trillions of dollars on the backs of future generations and pays for it with inflation (printing money) which hurts the current working generation especially those on fix income.
Policies are implemented which eventually ends up picking winners and losers in the market and worst of all creating economic boom and bust such as the dot com, real estate, and the biggest of them all a currency bubble.

More and more ridiculous laws are passed which strips us of our GOD giving rights of private property, self defense and pursuit of happiness all in the name of protecting the abstract public good. In a nutshell today we have a government which is a wolf in sheep's clothe. But it is not all about money because to me money is simply the means to an end which is power and the only institution I know which has a monopoly on power is the government.

However, throughout history every society has been ruled by a tiny minority by the consent of the overwhelming majority and it is this consent or obedience which is at play and those in power are fully aware of it. They can hide behind the curtain like the Wizard of OZ, they can stroll in the their invisible clothe like the Emperor's New Clothe however they cannot hide the fact that it is Frankenstein.

To quote my favorite Founding Father Thomas Jefferson:

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

A tale of 2 sports (football & futebol)

Professional Football is the most profitable & popular sport today in USA, and professional Futebol also referred to as soccer is the most profitable & popular sport globally. I enjoy and appreciate both however from an economically point of view I feel that Futebol as a sport has a much fairer and efficient system which affords more opportunity because of its free market capitalist model. American football as a sport is based on a socialist system which to me leaves a lot to be desired at least at the amateur level or outside the NFL & other professional leagues.

Outside of the NFL football is dominate by NCAA in the amateur level & it is very regulated through the US school system which eventually falls under the authority of the US Education department. On the other hand, futebol globally runs on a completely independent governing body named FIFA where disputes are resolved through arbitrators instead of government courts.

Most of the top players in the NFL today come from very poor begins and the so called ghettos of the inner cities of USA, likewise most of the top professional futeball players today come from the so called ghettos of the inner cities of Brazil, Argentina, other major European cities and West Africa region.

In order for a talented football player to eventually turn professional and play in the NFL he will need to go through the educational system. Such student athlete will play for schools where he is not allowed to be compensated even though they may collectively generate hundreds of millions of dollars for their schools. If the student athletes gets caught receiving such gift or compensation he faces sever sanctions, scrutiny which can severely impact his future eligibility & future earnings once available for the NFL draft. Also such talent cannot enter the NFL unless he attends a college program stays for at least 2 years. Throughout this entire time the exceptional talent and his family will remain deprived of his fair financial gains.

However, an exceptional futebol player can join the youth division of a reputable professional club as young as 7 years old where he can better developed under the tutelage of the best available trainers, coaches and competition. Being a recognized talent the youth is fairly compensated & accommodated. For this financial commitment the professional club can benefit by either developing & keeping the exceptional talent or the club can choose to sell the player to another club willing to pay a fair value. The futebol player is also able to negotiate his new contract heavily influenced by his sale price.

Take Leo Messi consider by many the best futeball player in the world still only 24 years old. However, at the age of 11, he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency which would cost $900 a month. for treatment. FC Barcelona after learning about this phenom offered to pay for Messi's medical bills and compensate his family to move to Spain where he enrolled in prestigious FC Barcelona's Youth Academy.

Messi excelled at all youth level and made his official debut for the first-team as a 16 years old professional for arguably the best team at the time. Today Messi is recognized and loved throughout the world and he is the 3rd highest payed futeball player in the world behind Christiano Ronaldo & Samuel Eto respectively who both share similar professional beginnings as Messi.

On the other side of the spectrum take Cam Newton a 22 year old rookie quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. Newton was drafted 1st overall in the 2011 NFL Draft after ending his career as an unpaid quarterback for the Auburn Tigers which made tens of millions off his stardom.

Newton like Messi was an exceptional talent at an early age, however while at University of Florida Newton's career was almost finished after he was suspended by the team over an allegation of a stolen laptop which led him to transfer rather than face suspension. In no way am I defending Newton's possible indiscretions or allegations, but to destroy a phenom's dream, professional aspirations and ability to provide financially for his family is wrong.

Newton transferred to Blinn College a junior college program where he excelled and became the most highly recruited player out of junior college. Newton would then spend much of the 2010 football season in a controversy regarding allegations that his father Cecil Newton had sought money in return for his son playing for a major-college team, in violation of NCAA rules.

While at Auburn last year Newton became the best football player in college and led his team to a championship season while winning the prestigious Heisman Trophy award. Throughout his remarkable season Newton was greatly criticized for non football issue involving his dad and could have easily destroyed his football career again.

Today most of if not all of the top 100 Futebol players in the world began their professional careers by age of 13. There is no scrutiny & these talents are celebrated for their youth & potential and some club supporters even criticize their clubs for selling such talents and not paying them more. Most importantly none of them played or attend college in order to become professional soccer players. However, in the United States football and basketball talents cannot turn professional until a certain age and most likely unless they attend college. While in college they are forbidden to be compensated for their labor which generates hundred of millions of dollars.

Adding insult to injury are the Bowl games for College football which operate as independent non profit charities and collectively generate a quarter of a billion dollars every year. Not only don't they pay tax, instead they are subsidized by the local and the states they operate out off through tax credit worth in the millions. The players who are the main attraction in these games get $0, yet the CEOs of these bowl games make the highest salary of any other charities in US. Everyone else employed by these charitable institutions such as the Sugar Bowl make an exaggerated salary on the backs of the players and the schools as well.

The solution to me is for American football and basketball to follow the free market approach of futebol.
First allow the NFL or another interested private entity to buy out top programs from NCAA and incorporate them as their Minor League system similar to MLS, NHL and World Futeball. That way the top football prospects can focus on their trade exclusively and we can eliminate all of these scandals and corruption involved with the current bureaucratic system we have today.

Today the irony is that USA as a country achieved incredible economic success due to adopting a free market capitalist approach during the late 19th and early 20th century, yet it has chosen to adopted a socialist model for its sport of football while Europe with its socialist leaning chose the free market approach for its biggest sport futeball. Therefore, if the proof is in the pudding consider this post eaten!

WAR What is good for?

To borrow from General Smedley Butler "War is a Racket", it is mass murder committed by states. However, there exists a great ambivalence about murder in our society because we condemn it when one individual commits it, yet we celebrate it when our government perpetrates it on a mass scale.

War is destruction, War is misery, War is Hell on Earth, War is a creation of the state and it can only be forged by the state, hence war is the health of the state.

After lying and deceiving its citizens, propaganda is manufactured where opposition is vilified therefore this campaign is justified. Nationalism pride is invoked to justify the eventual sacrifice of the youth and the slaughter of so called enemy mostly civilians.

In the end the propaganda of the victorious is instituted as excepted history to be learned and accepted by the incoming generations. Memorials are built and holidays are celebrated, but what's great about hundreds of thousands or even millions of young adults dead as its casualty. However, once we revise this history and dig for the truth we always find that war always begins with a lie. In other words the TRUTH is the first casualty of WAR.

For those who fought and survived the stench of War it becomes a living nightmare.
For those who were deployed and did not participate in the battle field it is taken for granted.
For the politicians who declare and engage in it, War is romanticized.
For most of us who are fortunate to be shielded from its wrath, we become hoodwinked.
War what is good for? Absolutely nothing!

The truth behind the assassination of Amilcar Cabral

Amilcar Cabral is arguably one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century whose thoughts and leadership skills deserves greater appreciation globally and I consider him one of my heroes.

However in this post I would like to address his assassination and the conspiracy behind it. Therefore, I would like to hopefully paint a clear picture for those who are not familiar with the facts.

Amilcar Cabral was murdered by Inocencio Kani a fellow PAICG naval commander at approximately 10:30 pm on January 20^th 1973 in front of the PAIGC office in Conakry upon his return from a dinner at the Polish embassy accompanied by his then wife while unarmed and unprotected.

Due to declassified Portuguese archives and testimonials it is clear that the conspiracy behind Alimicar Cabral’s assassination was a plot involving the Portuguese secret police force PIDE-DGS (Policia Internacional De Defesa do Estado) similar to US C.I.A. and several Guineas PAIGC members led by Momo Toure & Aristides Barbosa who were both imprisoned in the 60s and later released by the Portuguese.

In fact shortly after Cabral’s death with the help of Guinea Conakry’s Sekou Toure (dictator) Kani and the rest of the plot leaders were captured and interrogated resulting in 43 guilty of participation in the plot and about 10 were executed including Kani.

According to eye witness testimonials, the original plot was not to kill Cabral but instead to kidnap him and deliver him to P.I.D.E. with the hope that it would gravely destabilize PAIGC and the perpetrators were promised protection from Portugal and even independence for Guinea only and not Cape Verde Islands. As the story goes Kani panicked upon Cabral’s refusal to comply at gunpoint and shot him and even while wounded Cabral kept insisting with Kani to give up on the plot in which Kani shot him a few more times ending his life and forever immortalizing him.

At the time PAIGC’s leadership was composed mostly of Capeverdeans while the great majority of the fighters were Guineas and some of them did not agree with Cabral’s philosophy of the Cape Verde-Guinea unity which created great resentment amongst some of the Guinea members. This fact then became the focus of the Portuguese plot which was to create a Sikhism within PAICG therefore sabotaging PAIGC’s fight for independence of Guinea and Cape Verde.

However, the leadership of PAIGC was well aware of this plot from its inception and was able to remain united and arrested most if not all of the perpetrators and charged them with treason which was to be be carried out by execution. However, Cabral being the undisputed leader of the movement and PAIGC refused to follow through with this and instead he pardon several of them and placed the plot leaders under house arrest.

The sad reality was that Amilcar Cabral’s personality and principals made him an easy target for the simply fact that he did not believe in using violence and fear to assert authority. Instead, Cabral had incredible charisma and leadership skills which he was able to bring consensus in most if not all of the key issues involving the PAIGC and he personally trained most of the leaders of the party which is why the movement continued flawless after his demise.

The true genius of Amilcar Cabral was that as an outsider he was able to unite the 7 ethnic groups within Guinea (Balantes, Fulas, Manjacas, Mandingas, Papeis, Barmes & Bijagos) to fight their colonial oppressor (Portugal) but he was able to integrate a completely different people the Capeverdeans into this struggle and eventually influencing the Portuguese politics. This influence eventual resulted in the military overthrow of Caetano’s regime ending five decades of Fascist regime in Portugal making way for democracy.

Today, some politicians invoke Amilcar Cabral’s name for selfish reasons which to me tarnishes his true legacy being his genius in executing an arms struggle to end Portuguese colonialism and by convincing the rest of the world by invoking great speeches through out the world over a period of about two years from 1970-72.

For some June is the month for high school graduation and today most seniors look forward to college assuming they have been accepted. Therefore, here are some of my common sense suggestions from a rational economic point of view:
For your bachelor degree if money is an issue consider the following:

Choose a state school close to home being that it will cost you over 20% more to attend an out of state school and 50% more for tuition if private. The irony is that they almost all use the same books as they all must follow the Department of Education mandates which pays them through student loans. By staying close to home you can afford to commute as oppose to living in a dorm while being charged a 4 star hotel rate, besides you have access to all facilities from dusk to dawn. Get yourself a decent laptop, an used car and you should be fine.

Always purchase used books, because most of these books are useless to you after you have completed your courses. If you can, buy or trade your used books with other students or buy from an off campus used book stores. Lastly, you can always chip in with a classmate who's taking the same class and photocopy the pages off his or her book. The cost of selected course books in college is a scam in my opinion.

Don't be closed minded and only associate those you know or feel comfortable around, rub shoulders and diversify your connections because in the real world it's based on who you know not what you know.

Understand who maybe the better students in each of your classes and make it a point to become friendly with them, because you will probably learn more from studying with your better classmates than from your professor's lectures especially in big classes. In addition, also seek your professor's help after class if you are not clear on a lecture or topic. Ask for permission to record lectures and listen to them later on as part of your studies.

Never declare a major until your Junior Year, use your 1st two years to complete all of your general requirement courses. Too many students declare majors only to change them during their junior & senior year.

Take as many summer courses as you can, the classes are 1 month compared to 3 months during the regular semester, they are also smaller and worth the same credit and in most cases cheaper. To get the most out of your loans check for Internet course availability or another institution which offers them for cheaper if you must go to a more expensive school.

Do all you can to get an on campus job preferably in the financial aid, admissions, library or a faculty which you like. You will probably gain more practical experience or knowledge from them than your entire college tenure.

Introduce yourself to the Alumni Department in which you could make connections for a great internship position which can quickly turn into a job position once you graduate. Its also great for your resume.

Lastly but certainly not least focus your major on disciplines which are in greater demand and those you can use any where in the world such as engineering and computer science. A good example is for you to ask the international students on what they are majoring in and follow them, because they pay a higher out of pocket cost (no loans) they focus on practical disciplines. Instead, US students tend to focus on the easier pseudo-science liberal arts degrees which is useless without continuing towards a master and doctorate degree.

I feel that the reason we see so many of these liberal arts degree is the fact that because most US students do not pay for their education out of pocket they don't give that money the same value. The institutions in return have to continue to introduce newer courses and degree in order to justify the cost and more federal government subsidies and loans. This eventually inflates the money supply for higher learning which results in higher cost of tuition.

Before the creation of the Department of Education (1979) the cost of Education was so cheap that most students paid for college cash simply by working part time during the summer. Also most high school graduates did not attend college and instead they went right into the job market where they gained practical experience and became productive members of their society. Eventually most of them would sacrifice by saving their hard earned money and purchase their first home within 5-10 years mostly cash or with a very small mortgage. Yet what most people fail to comprehend is that this was the 70s and if you don't believe me, just ask anyone who attend college before the 80s and ask them how long it took them to payoff their student loans and then as him or her, what was their major.

Economics of Education

Education is a topic which arouses strong emotions yet most folks I come across are ambivalent in their reaction. The problem is that most people I know are economically illiterate and don’t take time to rationalize when it comes to the current condition of our educational system.

In this blog I will attempt to simplify this otherwise perceived complicated issue through thoughtful rationalization. With this said I will also hypothesise that every parent wishes to have their child educated and every person prefers to be smarter than dumber. Then why the escalating cost and declining academic result?

This can be easily explained through applied economics in which there are markets composed of producers, labor, and consumers. In a free market a producer forecasts a potential demand and begins the innovation process in which labor is hired along with capital to deliver the supply of what is being demanded (wants) by the consumer (public). If success is achieved than more producers (entrepreneurs) joins in creating competition therefore increasing the value or utility of the end product while reducing its cost.

This is the consistent end result of every voluntary free market, however when the market is compulsory such as our education system the end result is perverse and the consumers are left paying a higher cost for an inferior product or result.

In our education system the consumers being the parents and ultimately students in most cases don’t have a choice in regards to the schools they send their kids unless they are wealthy. Our bureaucratic education department (monopoly) decides for us therefore eliminating competition. Every producer is at the mercy of its customers in a competitive market while every customer is at the mercy of the producer in a monopoly. Knowing this the labor organizes to form unions which also discourages labor competition through intimidation and works to protect only their interest (artificially higher compensation) also ultimately at the cost of the consumer .

In the case of our education system the producer is the government, the labor is the teacher's union and the consumers are the parents and students. The reality is that the administrators are bureaucrats appointed or hired by politicians who are in many times heavily influenced or supported by unions in their elections. Therefore the end result are curriculum dictated by the status-quo to be delivered by unionized teachers in an institutionalized manner much like all other government institutions.

Out of all markets, education is the only one which has not yet really evolved even with the technology and Internet revolution of this last century, in addition most brilliant minds don’t pursue their careers in it due to its compulsory nature. Instead it seems to attract lots of people intrigued with power or egalitarians.

The more money the government throws at education the less educated the students become and the more expensive the cost of attending school. The reason is because most of these new dollars are not really going towards educating the students, instead it’s being wasted in the growing non productive regulations or bureaucracies, purchasing exaggerated priced books from connected publishers, increasing teachers salary and benefits along with construction of massive schools which resembles penitentiaries.

What most people don't realize is that in order for the Government to continue with their increase spending on education it will have to tax it from productive sectors of the society, borrow it, or just inflate which will eventually result in higher cost of living.

The solution in my option would have to begin by first empowering the parents and the students by giving them the ability of choice such as the voucher program in which they can choose where they send their children to school. I feel parents are better equip to make this decision, because they have their children's best interest in mind and they will be able to apply this voucher better than any egalitarian.

Secondly, government employees should not be able to unionize, even the great socialist F.D.R. understood this. Most politicians are temporary caretakers who will say and do almost anything to get re-elected especially in our political system. I'm ok with unions in the private sector, however in the public sector is just absurd because the taxpayers have no say in the negotiations.

Thirdly, some of the absurd regulations currently in place will have to be abolish in order to make education for profit which simply means efficient. This will certainly integrate current technologies and Internet more prominently. This will bring accountability, better opportunity and innovation instead of programing students with propaganda, creativity and expression will be encouraged. Today the best public school teacher will earn exactly the same income as the worst if the they both have the same tenure and its nearly impossible to terminate a bad teacher unless he or she commits a crime.

Just think about banking for instance, there are still brick & mortar, however the ability to use ATM, online & mobile banking has definitely made a significant improvement in banking. I argue the same will occur in a more voluntary education system.

Today we see an increase in these pseudo science courses and majors being established and encouraged which have no practical use in the workforce except perhaps in the bureaucracy or soon to be established position within government.

Speaking from personal experience, I majored in Economics in which I had to purchased several very expensive books and sat through several classes, however I learned more about my field of study from reading Economics in One Lesson: The Shortest and Surest Way to Understand Basic Economics, The Road to Serfdom: Text and Documents--The Definitive Edition (The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek, Volume 2),& How an Economy Grows and Why It Doesn't (comic book)than

my collective economics courses. These 3 great books cost me less than $50 on Amazon.com while this year I will finally pay off my college student loans after 11 years. Something is definitely wrong with this picture!

Social Insecurity

I’ve contemplating posting this blog for sometime and in my opinion it is the greatest political issue facing this empire we call The United Sates of America. As far as political issues is concerned, this has got to be the 700 lb gorilla in the room which no politician wants to acknowledge.

My interest in this topic started in 09, after I read “The Social Security Swindle” which blew me away and I tried my best to reject the facts which were being conveyed, which I've cross referenced to the conclusion that this incredible book exposed Social Security for what it truely is a Ponzi Scheme.

Our Social Security Program was introduced as a social insurance program funded through payroll taxes called Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) as of part President Franklin D. Roosevelt 1935 New Deal. The main problem with this program was and remains that it is unconstitutional according to the bylaws of the Federal Government. There is nothing in the US Constitution which delegates this power to any of the 3 branches of the Federal Government. In fact the Founders & Framers rejected such usurpation of power and even the Supreme Court at the time rejected the bill.
However, President Franklin D. Roosevelt threaten them with the help of Congress by proposing legislation usurping new powers to add additional judges to all federal courts whenever there were sitting judges age 70 or older who refused to retire. This would have resulted in FDR appointing six new Justices to the Supreme Court along with 44 judges to lower federal courts, thus getting the majority votes needed to pass his New Deal. After several months of very intense debate the Supreme Court finally caved in and essentially became what it still is today, a rubber stamp of the Executive Branch.

The other thing to consider is that US Social Security System is a socialist and centralist program borrowed from Germany –Prussia empire led at the time by Otto Von Bismark as chancellor who was very instrumental in consolidating what was a confederation of German states into the Germany Empire in 1871. Bismarck, a devout Lutheran and was anti-Catholic deliberately restricted democracy by promoting government through a strong, well-trained bureaucracy with a hereditary monarchy at the top. An anti-capitalist, Bismark helped create what we today refer to as the Welfare State in which FDR’s NEW DEAL especially our Social Security System was copied from.

Knowing this history allow me to explain why our social security system is the greatest Pyramid Scheme ever forged. First of all social security is not an insurance program instead it's a tax on income referred to as payroll tax. As you know the government forces your employer to withhold the first 15% of your wage. But in order to circumvent the initial legality they called it an insurance. (Benefits and 7.5% payroll tax match are all part of the overall compensation)

All Federal taxes collected are credited into a single US Treasury account which is then debited to pay for every Federal expense. Most people believe that there is a segregated account just for social security to be credited. Instead there is a so called Trust Fund which the government credits with Treasury Bonds in place of revenue which was collected and immediately spent. In other words imagine you writing a check for yourself for a million dollars and claiming to be a millionaire.

Today it is estimated to be approximately $55 trillion dollars worth of unfunded liability between Medicare & Social Security. This means our Federal government over the years have borrowed against itself $55 trillion dollars of its own bonds which it has to pay interest on in place for the payroll taxes it collected and spend in pursuit of an empire, wars and other domestic debacles.

Another major problem is that elders are living longer and there are people who contributed $20K throughout their entire working life beginning to collect $20K per year. In 2009, & 2010 Social Security paid more than it collected making it essentially bankrupted and with the Baby Boomers preparing to collect their so called entitlements, it is impossible that my generation can generate enough tax revenue to pay their benefits.

This is a simple transfer of wealth taking from the poor to give to the wealthy, in which my generation overburden by increasing cost of living or loss of purchasing power of the dollar will have to pay higher tax which will be transferred over to our parents and grandparents. The saddest aspect of this reality is that it will eventually make parents & children political adversaries and our government is the greatest culprit in this mess.

Another disappointment is that a large percentage of the Baby Boomers failed to invest for their retirement and they are instead depending on their social security benefit. Therefore this is all they have, in which the government has made a promise which is impossible to keep unless they significantly cut benefit or significantly increase tax in which my generation will not be able to save at all.

Basically, there is no difference between Bernie Maddoff’s scandal and our Social Security System.
For years Maddoff was revered as an investment genius, however he was simply running a Ponzy Scheme in which he took money from new investors and he paid older investors incredible profits. If you were an old investor of Madoff, you reaped great profits however if you were an new investor you lost all your money. The downfall of Madoff was that he ran out of new investors and old investors began requesting their money due to the 08 credit crunch therefore a double whammy.

On second thought there is a major difference between Bernie Madoff & our social security system, and that is that our contributions are coerced while Madoff’s clients invested voluntarily. In addition our government can always raise tax or inflate our fiat money supply with the help of the FED. In other words it can just print money.

The solution has to be based on reality and although tough the ethical and moral solution is to abolish it. First you make contribution voluntarily by giving the wage earners an option to invest their retirement and purchasing insurance through the government or in the private market. Secondly, lets call it what it really is which is Well Fare Program in which benefits will continue to be paid only to those that qualify base on financial needs.

At this time we have wealthy people and well to do folks collecting social security benefits which is insignificant to their life style, while many wage earners are overburdened with income tax. This is a perverse transfer of wealth taking from the productive and poorer and doling to the unproductive and wealthier member of our society.

This is the result of socialism or collectivism and relying on government instead of the free market!

Once upon a time not long ago, there was a civilization called the Moors by Europeans.

They were black Africans of North Africa, spreading from Tunisia across to Morocco, down to Senegal and Mali. Moors or Berbers were names or references to all those who lived in North Africa, meaning black, however the Moors were very diverse, including Arabs, mulatto and mix, nevertheless the overwhelming majority were black Africans. Their story is one of the most incredible and valuable and to me it’s the missing link in this chain of Western Civilization as we know it.

After the Prophet Muhammad’s triumph of Mecca in Arabia Peninsula, Islam spread like wild fire mostly in a peaceful manner, as far East as China and as far west as Senegal in a span of less than 200 years. At this time in the demise of the Roman Empire which had controlled most of Western Europe, stood the Germania Visigoth Empire which ruled the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). Europe fell into the Dark Ages, due to the fact they experienced centuries of retrogress similar to what Africa has experienced over this past three centuries.

The Moors crossed over from Morocco and in less than one generation defeated the Visigoth who outnumbered them at least 5-1 in battle and conquered most of the Iberia Peninsula, southern France, and southern Italy including Sicily. Although impressive as it may be militarily in regards to skills, strategy, tactics and weaponry, the greatness of the Moorish Empire as a whole was its contribution to Europe as Al Andalus (name of Spain and Portugal from 711-1492).

Its dynasty can be divided into 3 different dynasties, the Umayyad Caliphate out of Damascus or also referred to the Caliphate of Cordoba, Almoravids and the Almohad out of Morocco. The Umayadd Caliphate was Arab rulers who conquered the Visigoths with a predominately African force commanded by Tariq Ibn Ziyad from which we today get the word tariff and the Rock of Gibraltar. However both the Almoravids and the Amolhad were distinctly Africans rulers who were Muslims.

At that time Western Europe was in a state of decay and the progress made under the oppressive Romans virtually disappeared. In fact the real Renaissance or Rebirth should be credited to the Moors, who brought science, mathematics, aesthetic architectures, developed art, and built hundreds of universities where people from all corners of Europe came to study. To drive home this point, the Moors developed hundreds of universities compared to less than ten in entire continent of Europe.

The Moors made great contribution in advancing culture and arts introducing different types of music instruments and genre which over the years has morphed and credited as Spanish. In agriculture they introduce ingenious methods of cultivating through crop rotation and arrogation. They introduced many different types of fruits, vegetables and crops which were unknown to outside of Africa & Persia.

Cities such as Cordoba had running water through lead pipe plumbing which would take close to 600 years to be duplicated in other parts of Europe. Most of cities had hundreds of public baths along with the great use of windmills which would again take centuries to be implemented throughout Europe as a power source for energy. The Moor also made great contribution in the field of pathology and medicine especially in surgery through application which would take centuries to being duplicated else where in Europe.

In construction, the Moors built miles of paved roads, incredible castles which still stands today in southern Spain for all to marvel at. In all aspect the Moors were centuries ahead of its contemporaries. Their contribution, in all departments of science, navigation, technology and literature were great, to the point that it gave the Portuguese and Spain 200 years of head start to the rest of Europe in reaching Americas.

Under the Moors, Christians, Sephardic Jews and Muslims lived for generations in peace and thrived in commerce. In fact, they did not imposed their religion and allowed freedom of religion worship, although conquers they respected the native’s cultures, so much so that they were well received in replacement of the despotic Visigoth.

After at least two centuries of Catholic Monarchs power consolidation while continued internal power struggles within each of these 3 Moor Dynasties, they eventually defeated the Moors and expelled them out of what is today Spain and Portugal. This is referred to as the Reconquista which was concluded in the fall of Grenada after the union through marriage of Isabella of Castile to Ferdinand II of Aragon. They implemented the Spanish Inquisition to convert Jews and Muslims alike to Catholicism at gun point and in which estimated hundred of thousands if not millions were expelled from their land while thousands were murdered. In addition, thousands of priceless books were burned, records destroyed by the highly Orthodox Catholic Monarchs. After Ferdinand and Isabella of Castile consolidated power to depose the Moors, they financed the conquest of the New World or the Americans by committing what has got to be the greatest catastrophe in human history led by the conquistadors. In addition, they spearhead the Transatlantic African slave trade along with the Portuguese Monarchs which is arguably the second greatest human catastrophe. Their despotism also led to great affliction to their own citizens who opposed them.

In conclusion, it is amazing to me that such legacy as the contributions of the Moors can and is omitted from our history books for the mass, and discredited or diminished amongst the so called intellectual class.
Human history is very old and throughout this evolution many civilizations have made great contributions to the human race. Although most of these civilizations are long gone physically, they can still live in our consciousness, and acknowledging their true legacy can only inspire us today to improve our current conditions.

Recently, I was speaking with a friend and somehow our conversation digressed into our 16th president which I sarcastically referred to as Il Duce. Like Benito Mussolini the Fascist dictator of the Italian kingdom, Abraham Lincoln was this country’s first fascist dictator. An admirer of Alexander Hamilton and a disciple of Senator Henry Clay of Kentucky, President Abraham Linclon’s image can only summarized as a pure propaganda .

Immortalized in the image of Roman God Jupiter sitting on his thrown to be worshiped, I would like to shed a spotlight on the truth.
Abraham Lincoln married Mary Todd who came from a well connected wealthy slave holding family and being a great admirer of Henry Clay, Lincoln initiated his political life a Whig.

Whigs were essentially mercantilist which was in fact an earlier version to Mussolini’s Fascism. Through his talent and connections Lincoln quickly became one of the most powerful attorneys in the state of Illinois eventually becoming the top lobbyist in the railroad industry. At the time Railroad was arguably the most profitable industry in the country. Contrary to popular belief he was not a struggling attorney, instead he was wealthy and well connected amongst the elites.

According to records of his time, Lincoln was not a well liked popular figure, instead he was a very polarizing and this had nothing to do with the slave issue. But as far as the slave issue is concerned, Lincoln was in fact a racist whose solution for the natives were extermination through genocide of the Plain Indians in order to make way for the transcontinental railroad through the debacle known as the Union Pacific Railroad. This project was very similar in bad management and exploding cost much like the recent Boston’s Big Dig, the only difference was that thousands of natives were slaughtered and imprisoned.

Linclon’s original plan for African-American slaves and free persons were deportation, he believed them to be inferior people and believed that his American should be reserved for whites only. He wanted to ship them back to Africa, Caribbeans, Central & South America. In fact there was a meeting at the white house where Lincoln invited some of the black leaders of the time to persuade them to influence the rest of the freed black to leave US which they respectfully disagreed. Also, most people today aren’t aware that even in 1850s there were lots of slaves in the northern states especially New York, in other words Lincoln was no Quaker nor an abolitionist.

Emancipation Proclamation was nothing more than political theater essentially outlawing slavery in only the territories in which the Union government had no control or authority at the time. All of the states which sided with the northerners were allowed to keep their slaves. In fact, Lincoln said “My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.”

Save the Union he did but it coast over 500 thousands American lives (mostly southerners) equivalent to close to 5 million people based on today’s population, destruction of countless southern towns, and cities by his generals such as the barbaric General William Sherman who terrorized southern civilians intentionally and later participated in genocide of the Plain Indians. General William Sherman wrote a letter to his wife stating that his biggest regret was not killing all of the southerners.

What today is erroneously referred as the US Civil War was initially referred to as the War between the States, the correct term should be the War over Southern Secession or Southern Independence. The United States of America was forged as a voluntary union with the Federal government delegated numerated limited power by the states themselves. Although, the Constitution does not spell out secession, it was clearly understood by the founding fathers in which even Alexandre Hamilton admitted to the states right to secede. The action of President Lincoln would clearly be unthinkable in the eyes of the founders of this nation who preceeded him by at least 70 years, all one needs to do is read the writings especially of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.

Also, a less know fact is that the New England states were planning to secede before the confederate states, they even met in Hartford Conn. over their opposition to the War of 1812 which made it illegal to trade with England which was its major trading partner.

Lincoln was very hands on with the so called Civil War, and in addition he ran the country as a dictator, suspending habeas corpus jailing thousands of Northerners, along with shutting down hundreds of newspapers and making live miserable to anyone who publicly opposed his aggressive policy. He was against southern states like Virginia seceding yet he helped what is now West Virginia secede from Virginia. He also introduced the income tax, and fiat currency in order to finance the war by creating ramped inflation and indebting the Union.

So by now if you still reading, you might be wondering why did the Southern states secede to form the confederate states? The answer is simple, TAXES. Lincoln was a mercantilist who believed in protectionist policies, monopolies and tariffs and all of these policies favored the more industrial economy of the Northern states. In order for the Federal Government to subsidize those enterprises, he had to disproportionally increase taxes on tariffs which would have detrimental affect on the southern economy which would be forced to buy more expensive finished products from the northern states while facing high tax overseas in retaliation for their exports. Most of the southern states leaders were also disturbed of the increasing Federal government's power and growth, making their concerns very similar to the 13 colonies few decades prior.

President Abraham Lincoln was Nationalist which promotes privileges for the connected elites and is the natural enemy of Liberalism and free market capitalism. Lincoln was a statest and a dictator like Otto Van Bismark, Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Franco, Mussolini, Mao and Castor to name a few. In this blog I will attempt to articulate why I feel we are on the road to hell by being radical without the religious connotation. The road to hell alludes towards a society where individual liberty or freedom is disregarded and therefore a few could dictate to the mass based on their prejudice leaving a great majority in a state of affliction.

On the other hand the road to heaven is base on the principal of individual liberty, protection of private property and due process of the law prescribed to protect each individual equally. In saying this I must also clarify that in my opinion the road to hell is indeed paved with good intentions and this is the main reason some are hoodwinked in supporting their own individual demise.

In life there are the natural & the artificial, in which the natural tends to be simple and rational most of the time, while the artificial is obscured. For instance, nature creates individual trees and from this man attributes forest. Nature creates individual animals and from this we interpret them as groups, flocks, schools, pride and etc. Whenever rational one can only conclude that in reality there are no forest just trees, therefore in my mind the group is never greater than the individual, because the individual is real whereas the group is artificial.

With this said I feel that most of the problems we face today as a society is that we put more emphasis on the group than the individual with good intentions which eventually results in resentment even hatred amongst the groups. Nevertheless, I’m not advocating solitary living or discounting benefits of socializing which I greatly appreciate along with other human institutions such as family. Instead, I am proclaiming that just as a human will be born and die as an individual he or she should have this natural right recognized & protected before all form of human created groups or institutions.

The main reason that I feel that we as a society are on the road to hell is because as a society we have misconstrued the meaning of vice for crime. In this matter I prescribe to the genius interpretation articulated by Lysander Spooner which he points out that “Vices are those acts by which a man harms himself or his property. Crimes are those acts by which one man harms the person or property of another. Vices are simply the errors which a man makes in his search after his own happiness. Unlike crimes, they imply no malice toward others, and no interference with their persons or property. In vices, the very essence of crime --- that is, the design to injure the person or property of another --- is wanting”.

Today our legal and criminal systems are based on the faulty foundation of prosecuting vices as crimes by destroying scarce resources along with millions of lives due to this simple misinterpretation. Today we can safely estimate that approximately 80% of all those incarcerated are due to their vices and not crimes. Personal use or injecting illicit substances despite potential harm to oneself, gambling, prostitution, pornography assistant suicide or prize fighting to name a few are vices. However, murder, robbery, rape, slavery, torture, abuse or personal defamation, are indeed crimes and should be punished along with the victim made whole or compensated for their personal loss.

We need to realize that human history is very old and most of what we today consider vice was not the case, at least Pre Victorian Era. A lot of this ideal is elitist in a sense that those entrusted to serve the public (every individual) believe that they know what’s best for everybody based on their prejudice along with the need to dictate your intimate personal life on behalf of this artificial public good or interest. Besides, the 4th amendment of the Bill of Right affords every person in US the right to be left alone.

The vices which deal with commerce should be left for the market to decide, such as if you don’t want a liquor store, a porn shop, or a casino in your town, them do not patronize. The owner and the patrons have just as much right as the dissenting voices, the line is crossed only when either party violates the others individual rights.

Furthermore, what I may attribute as a virtue may be interpreted as a vice and vise versa especially when religious believes is involved. For an example, in most Middle East countries they have these virtue police punishing women for kissing their own boyfriends in public, whereas in Europe or Brazil this is as normal as breathing, in fact in some countries such as the Netherlands its customary to give 3 kisses as a greet.

In closing, my virtues and what I consider vices are for me in my attempt to live a moral life and I’ll do my best to assist my kids with good examples as best as I can. However, I don’t feel it is just to punish or impose by force my own personal virtues onto someone else, because that my friend would be a crime.

Federal Godvernment

Why should anyone in this country care about the founding ideals, the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution & the Bill of Rights? In addition, why should you care about its history in its proper context and why should you invest the time to read this blog?

Today we are dealing with many issues which seem complicated and not relevant to our daily lives and many of us are unconscious or ignorant of their actual impact to us, hence some feel ignorance is bliss. In writing this blog, I hope to articulate in a concise manner the foundation to better survey the current political landscape and the many important issues we are currently facing and what’s really at stake.

The genesis of the creation of The Unites State of America was a very unique concept and nice experiment while it lasted. This union was conceived by 13 individual colonies incorporated independently of each other which gained their individual independence from their common oppressor British Kingdom under George III of the House of Hanover at treaty of Versailles.

Another point is that these 13 colonies did not fight a Revolutionary War; instead they fought a war for independence. A revolution is when a dissenting faction fights to overthrow their oppressor and take over their reign with a drastic change of political ideology or social culture, such as what Fidel Castro did to the Batista regime. The colonies did not want to overthrow King George III; instead they wanted their liberty and their right to govern themselves.

Once these 13 individual sovereign states of America gained their independence from the British Kingdom they decided to voluntarily form a confederation mostly out of necessity of protection from foreign European kingdoms such as Spain, British & France, so they would not be divided & conquered.
However, they wanted to prevent all potential form of governmental despotism which they experienced under British Kingdom in particular George III. In other words they saw this union as a necessary evil therefore the framers wanted to chain this beast they were planning to create.

Immediately, the founders were divided into two factions, the Federalist and the anti-Federalist. The federalist wanted a federal government which was pure servant of its employers the independent states and would deal mostly with foreign affairs. The anti-Federalist wanted none of this because they accurately feared the Federal structure would become what it is today, Frankenstein. (Read the debate between Madison & Patrick Henry). They first attempted with the Articles of Confederation, but the strong influence of Federalist founders such Alexander Hamilton & George Washington who represented the interest of the elite and wealthy heavily concentrated in the state of New York led to the replacement the Articles of Confederation with the US Constitution.

Out of fear of threats of foreign forces and to facilitate commerce amongst the states the Federalist won the debate and this union was conceived by the Voluntary consensus of the sovereign states. In addressing some of the valid points argued by the Anti-Federalist, James Madison penned the US Constitution in a very concise manner and numerating the specific power delegated to this Federal Government and its 3 separate branches by Articles & its specific delegated power by Sections. Because each states ware created by individuals, James Madison also addressed Patrick Henry’s concerns by stamping the Bill Of Rights to protect individual rights over the specific powers delegated to its Federal Government.

The constitution is essentially a contract amongst the states who ratified it and although it does not in so many words address secession, all of the founders including the biggest Federalist of the all Alexander Hamilton understood and accepted that every and any state not satisfied with the union could secede from it.

Imagine getting married to your spouse and no matter how bad or abusive the marriage may be to either party, no party can divorce each other. Imagine the audacity for someone to declare that your marriage preceded your own solitaire existence.

There are countless, quotes from all of the founders addressing this most important matter of this union. In fact most people are not aware that the New England states were planning to secede before the southern confederate states beat them to it.

Another area which is seriously misconstrued is the fact that the United States was conceived as a Republic not a Democracy. There is a great difference between the two, in a Republic individual rights are first and states second, and federal government’s power last as far as priorities are concerned.

Democracy is when the majority faction can rule the minority factions and do as they wish, such as a mob and no individual rights to be protected and no due process of the law. Whereas a Constitutional Republic observes these areas first and foremost no matter the wishes of the majority.

Today, almost all of Patrick Henry’s prediction (read Anti-Federalist Papers) has come true, starting with the dictator Abraham Lincoln along with Progressive Era and socialization of the Federal Government (the nanny state). The ideals, and ingenuity to forge a nation which would end serfdom, and I believe eventually slavery in a peaceful manner, has instead cannibalized itself detouring from the road of prosperity right back to the road to serfdom.

Since my last blog, I have been contemplating on what topic I should discuss next. Since I have focused most of my writing on Economics, it’s only right that I address History which is another area of my interest.
I believe understanding one’s history offers a great insight of our present conditions therefore foresight of the near future.

Quite often the historical interpretation of people & events supplied to the mass through our educational system is not only distorted, misconstrued, exaggerated in some cases flat out fabricated. Being that the motives are numerous, I would rather focus on three of the most flabbergasted historical contents of the United States, Christopher Columbus, Union of the States & Abraham Lincoln. In the interest of keeping the blog concise & interesting I will post them as 3 separate blogs.

One of the most celebrated historical figures in US today is Christopher Columbus, after all he discovered the New World which prompted interest in this new land leading towards the greatest exodus in human history. Therefore, our capital, countless streets, schools, towns, & cities bestow his name. However, the history that is attributed to Christopher Columbus is dishonest to say the least. First & foremost, Christopher Columbus did not discover any new land; because natives have been living in the islands he visited for thousands of years, especially Hispaniola (today’s Dominica Republic & Haiti). In fact, seamen throughout the Mediterranean for centuries prior had navigated the Atlantic especially the Nubians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Romans & there are accounts of empires of West Africa venturing as far as today’s Mexico in search of trade.

Most are not aware of the Olmec civilization who were Africans who migrated from possibly Nubian or Kemet to settle in today’s Mexico some thousand of years before Christopher Columbus. Archaeological remains such as the Olmec head as tall as 9 feet weighting 25 tons carved out of a single stones along with many other archaeological discoveries such as cities concentrated on the southeast portion of Mexico has been consciously kept out of classrooms and the mainstream.

In addition, there are several historical accounts of Zheng He an navy Admiral in the Ming Dynasty venturing to the new world in search of commerce from the Pacific. Zheng He led a fleet suggested to be greater than then the famous Spanish Armada in the early 1400s, at least 60 to 70 years before Christopher Columbus. His Expedition also included Southeast Asia, India, Arabia Peninsula, and East Africa to name a few. To their credit, some mainstream history books acknowledge the Vikings under Leif Erickson settling in Northeast Canada.

The manner which this history is pronounced one would think that the Spanish Empire & Christopher Columbus originated in a vacuum. However, adjusting it to its proper historical context, one must know that for approximately 800 years the Iberian Peninsula was controlled by the Moors (North African Muslim) who defeated the Visigoth Christians in the mid 700 Ad.

In this time Spain & Portugal flourished in all aspect as a civilization, far exceeding its European neighbors. The Moor Empire or influence at its zenith span from north Spain to Ghana while stretching west as far as today’s Tunisia. Even today in the Andalusia region of Spain on can still see and experience the Moor influence. The Moors were accomplished sailors who had mapped most of what is credited to the Catholic Empire of Portugal & Spain. At its demise sealed by the marriage of Ferdinand II of Aragon & Isabella I of Castile, the Catholic Monarchs inherited the knowledge and maps of the Moors and destroyed many more especially due to the Spanish Inquisition where
Ferdinand & Isabella murdered and expelled hundred of thousands of Jews and Muslims from their land where they had lived for generations or centuries.

The real Christopher Columbus was a tyrant who slaughtered hundreds of thousands of natives especially in the islands of Hispaniola & Bahamas to the point of extermination in a span of a few years. He deceived those close to him and could lie with the best of them. The atrocities he and his gang levied on the natives of the several Caribbean islands range from robbery, rape, enslavement to insane cruelty such as feeding people to dogs. After almost exterminating a race of people in a short span of time, he later initiated what would become the African slave trade to replace the slave labor of the natives he encountered.

Christopher Columbus resembled more Roman Emperor Nero than a pioneering explorer or map maker. The best contemporary accounts of Christopher Columbus time could be found in the letters of Bartolomeo De las Casas who was an eye witness and documented the genocide of the Tainos and other natives of Caribbeans. Bartolomeo a Catholic Spanish priest of that time wrote of accounts that could only be described as hell on earth if there is such a place.

Christopher Columbus' legacy is not only the atrocities that he performed on the Caribbean islands but the example instilled on the Spanish Conquistadors such as Francisco Pizarro, Hernan Cortes, Francisco Vazquez, Diego De Almagro,Vasco Balboa, and Juan Ponce de Leon to name a few. Theses so called conquistadors were some of the worst criminals, mass murders of their time, who stole, tortured, and killed thousands of natives from South; Central America and western portion of today’s USA.

How we can celebrate these characters today and brush their history with a broad brush & fast drying paint on a historical canvas is immoral, leaving me dumb-found not knowing whether to cry or laugh?
