Taking New York

I got back from New York on Wednesday and boy was it a trip to remember, so much so that I thought I had to share my experience on this blog - think of it as my guide on how to experience New York in a few days without breaking the bank.

Having heard mixed things from people about New York, some saying it is an unfriendly city whilst others preferred it over Los Angeles (a city which I adore), I thought it was about time to experience the 'Big Apple' for myself and I'm really glad I did as I completely and utterly fell in love with the city. Words cannot describe why but if I had to find a description that could sum up NYC then the below comes close....

"They say that NY has an electric energy and when you go there, you feel alive and you can do anything!! People like to work hard and party hard as they all want to reach the top and fulfil their dreams. They all work together to make the dreams come true and nothing can stop them. Some people say that NY has so much energy that it can wear you out, but it makes you feel unstoppable."

Pacha

I had 3 full days in NYC (and two half days) and pretty much saw the whole of New York, which also included going Electric Zoo Festival (on arrival), Pacha and doing plenty of shopping. Scroll down to see just how I did it...

The flights
With regular flights from the UK and only 6 hours away it certainly makes for the perfect long weekend, city break. I flew out on Friday midday, arriving in JFK for around 14:30 (EST time), and left the city on Tuesday around 18:30 (EST time) arriving back into LHR on Wednesday at 6am. I flew by American Airlines but I wouldn't recommend them- I didn't have the best experience compared to BA but I got an alright deal at the time of booking.

Accommodation

Where you stay in New York is important especially if you haven't been to the city before as it's a big place and you want to be near all amenities - the less time you spend travelling the more time you can see the city!

I pretty much left booking my hotel until the last minute and luckily came across The Hampton Inn United Nations on East 43rd Street. The Hampton Inn is a branch of Hilton so you know you are going to get good service and I certainly did - the staff were super welcoming, the room was a good size, the breakfast was great and there was a gym - what more do you want?

Inside Grand Central Station

Situated near the United Nations, with the Chrysler building in sight, only a short walk from Grand Central Station and about a 20 minute walk from Times Square the location of The Hampton Inn was beyond perfect! I would highly recommend the hotel and when I visit NYC again I will certainly be staying there.

Getting Around

The subway was super easy and cheap to use. I found it particularly handy when I wanted to get from JFK to my hotel in Manhattan - probably the quickest way to do this journey as it only took around 40 minutes. I found everyone super friendly and helpful when I needed to figure out where to go.

My other my main mode of getting around New York was walking. Buses also proved handy, as did hailing a yellow cab (surprisingly not pricey at all). The latter made for a favourite way to get around the city as they allowed me to see more of they city rather than being underground on a subway.

'Touristy' stuff
People say NY is expensive but I disagree especially when you compare it to the prices you pay in London or Los Angeles to see tourist attractions. We saw the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock and the Statue of Liberty (so the main attractions), which start from $18.

The Statue of Liberty cruise was a great way to see Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty - highly recommend it.

Views from Top of the Rock - I recommend going just before sunset and staying after - makes for great views.

When you are walking the streets of NY people will stop you to sign up for their tourist deals and I'm normally weary of this but in NY it's kosher. I would recommend City Sight Seeing as you can see two attractions for $49 - not bad when you convert to £ (good old exchange rate).

Apollo theatre was a moment.

Further to the above we decided to go on the City Sight Seeing hop on, hop off bus tours (once again I'm not a fan of these but NY converted me) and I totally recommend these to everyone who has not experienced the city. At $59 you can see the whole of NY in two days and it includes a night tour of the city, which made for the perfect way to end our time in NYC! Not only did we get to see Brooklyn, the Bronx, Harlem, Uptown and Downtown NY but we got to learn about the history of each of these places thanks to the tour guides on the bus.

I'm normally quite apprehensive with bus tours as I think they pass through the city too quickly and you don't get a chance to see the sights but the ones in NY were quality as you could get off at a selection of stops and then get on another bus and of course there were plenty of opportunities to take photos.

Yankee Stadium - there was actually a game going on as we passed by, sadly didn't go. Next time!

Another good thing about these bus tours is they allowed me to see all 5 boroughs in two days and places I wouldn't have had a chance to visit if I hadn't used been on the bus such as China Town, Little Italy, the Yankee Stadium. Now that I have seen all these places the next time I visit New York I can explore my favourite boroughs in more detail i.e Brooklyn.

Food
Completely honest we didn't eat much in NY - made the most of our complimentary breakfast and because of the heat and trying to do everything my hunger for food seemed to vanish. From what I did eat and see NYC is perfect for those after a healthy diet. I'm gluten free and vegetarian and NY had plenty of places to meet my requirements, which was great! There are also plenty of smoothie trucks scattered around the city, which kept me going from breakfast until dinner.

A favourite place to eat for me was Pax Wholesome food - highly recommend you check this place out. They did the best quinoa salads! Yep I went to New York and ate a salad, crazy I know. I'm waiting for the day they open up one of these in the UK.

Shopping

Shopping in the US is the best, thinking about it most of my purchases this year have all been from my travels to the USA (I went to Los Angeles in December/ January and pretty much haven't needed to buy any clothes since). I prefer the fashion in the States as it's so much cooler than the UK and you get collabs that are not always released here, this applies more so to Adidas purchases.

I hadn't planned to buy much in New York, apart from trainers, however being in the city on Labour Day meant many shops had sales so I couldn't resist as I love a good bargain! Most of my purchases came via Forever 21, the one on fifth avenue was closing down so EVERYTHING was half price!

Times Square

Times Square shops are open until 1am so you can do a bit of shopping after a night out or after dinner. I highly recommend you go the H&M and Forever 21 in Times Square as the selection of the clothing is oh so cool - I bought a ton of stuff from Forever 21 in Times Square, after I visited the fifth avenue store. Could have bought half the store but it wouldn't have fitted in my suitcase!

If you love touristy merchandise then there are some market stalls I discovered on the side streets of Times Square on my last day in NYC when I was rushing to the station to go to Soho. To be honest though Times Square isn't really that expensive for touristy things with most small items coming under $5.

Soho is another place I recommend you visit for shopping. I rushed through Soho on my last few hours in New York as I really wanted a pair of Adidas trainers - the main Adidas store can be found here and it's massive! What I love about the Adidas stores in the States is you get pieces you can't always get in the UK, I got some cool trainers, my favourite things at the moment and a few t-shirts.

Whilst dashing through Soho I passed by the Dash store. As a fan of the Kardashians I couldn't go past Dash and not go inside - it was minimalist inside and the Dash dolls were super cool and friendly! I have to say though the store was quite hidden and can thus be quite easy to miss, not sure how I noticed it but glad I did!

And Finally...

New York City is certainly a place you HAVE to experience for yourself, it really is like walking through a movie set. The people are SO friendly, there is so much history and it has a great buzz. That buzz may be why I was able to handle the long days, jam packed schedule and sweltering heat without feeling tired.

Seeing the Statue of Liberty really did make me think about all the people that have come to New York to make their dreams come true and succeeded. As they say if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere, I can see that being true.... *salutes*

J.Lo & CL for Paper Mag

Paper mag 'hit it out the park' for their latest issue of the magazine which sees two covers and spread - the first features J.Lo looking oh so hot alongside Oliver Rousteing, and the second sees a personal fav Jeremy Scott posing alongside K-Pop singer CL (she's super cool if you don't know).

To me the two covers represent two ends of the high-end fashion spectrum - on one side you have Balmain, the super luxury and glam brand and on the other you have Moschino, the quirky and fun brand.

Personally I love both Balmain and Moschino (like come on if you had an unlimited budget you would so kit out your wardrobe with Balmain and Moschino pieces, well I know I would) and Paper mag did a great job with the shoot that sees the creative directors of the brands pose alongside two artists who represent the brands perfectly. J.Lo is the epitome of luxury whilst CL is so cool and totally embodies Moschino.

J.Lo & Oliver Rousteing for Paper Mag
First of all how amaze does J.Lo look - she certainly does not look 46, talk about good genes and good diet of course! Without a doubt J.Lo and Rousteing embody high end luxury and make the perfect fashionable pair for this shoot.

Nicolas Moore is the photographer behind the shoot whilst Rob and Mariel are responsible for the styling.

CL & Jeremy Scott for Paper Mag

For those of you unfamiliar with CL - she is super famous in the K Pop music scene and is part of the girl group 2NE1. To be honest ever since I saw this cover and editorial I have become totally obsessed with CL's style - she's so cool. Like I would totes have her wardrobe - just check her insta out for style inspo!

Marcus Mam is the man behind the lens whilst Lizzie Barrois is behind the oh so fab styling, which is on point.

I want CL's whole look in the shot -the jewels, crown, Moschino outfit. Yep every single bit.

Kim Kardashian West for Vogue Spain

It's the editorial that nearly got Kim K unwittingly involved in the Twitter spat of the month (unless you have been living under a rock you will know exactly what I am referring to) and boy is it a good editorial - I am going to go as far as to say it's Kim K's best editorial to date. Fact.

Shot with no direction by Theo Wenner, the August edition of Vogue Spain sees Kim K in a completely different light - a more natural one to be precise.

The Beverly Hills Hotel works as the perfect setting for the shoot, which sees the reality star work a number of poses sans makeup. All I have to say is if I looked like that without any slap I would not waste my time putting on makeup in the morning.

This has to be my favourite shot from the editorial - like I actually think you could get away with wearing this look out and about, I know it's PJs but still...

The shot that nearly got Kim K involved in the Nicki/Taylor twitter spat because she captioned it "Imma let you finish.." Still makes me laugh!

I love the Beverly Hills Hotel so much, it's such an iconic place and this shot embodies everything about it - it's just perfect!

Balmain A/W 15 Campaign

Kendall and Kylie Jenner for Balmain 's A/W '15 campaign - THAT. IS. ALL.

Although it was tempting to make this post a sentence long, as it's certainly a campaign you can stare at in awe, I have to say the latest Balmain campaign was another top move by Olivier Rousteing.

Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the sibling influenced campaign sees the oh so fab Jenner sisters looking ferosh alongside Bella & Gigi Hadid, Erika & Joan Smalls, and Armando & Fernando Cabral, with the latter fronting the menswear campaign - talk about the Jenner's stealing the fashion limelight.

KENZO presents Here Now

Normally not mega on Kenzo but their AW '15 film and print campaign, which sees the brand join forces with independent filmmaker Gregg Araki, didn't half catch my interest.

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (Kenzo's creative directors..for those wondering) are known for their work with filmmakers and their latest venture Here Now sees Avan Jogia, Jacob Artist, Jake Weart, Jane Levy and Nicole LaLiberte all front the campaign. The campaign is styled by Jay Massacret and sees the actors kitted out in head to toe Kenzo - obviously.

Here Now is set in a diner and follows an encounter between two couples and at just over 6 minutes long it's perfect for those of you that don't have the attention span for a long movie - bam.

The movie poster esque ad campaigns are amaze and probably one of the best campaigns I have seen this year....scroll down and have a look below.

Katy Perry x Moschino

Katy Perry as the new face of Moschino is like a match made in fashion heaven and certainly not a surprise; the popstar has rarely been seen wearing anything other than Moschino of late, everything from her Met Gala look to her tour wardrobe has been Moschino. Nothing wrong with that because the two are as fun and quirky as each other. The only other celeb I could see fronting the campaign as well as Perry would be Miley Cyrus - imagine that.

With Inez and Vinoodh behind the lens Perry is seen working her Kris Jenner esque pixie cut (apparently that's a term now) whilst wearing a number of Moschino looks, all whilst looking effortlessly cool. Scroll down to see the fun campaign...

That Moschino handbag is lush, because that is all that you notice in this pic - not how amaze Katy Perry's bod looks - body inspiration anyone?!

Favourite shot from the bunch, partly because I want to strut around London in this look.

Ciara is a mega babe, brilliant singer, dancer, (who doesn't wish they could do the 'Got Me Good' dance routine) and has amazing style and a body to die for. Can you tell I am a Ciara fan, well my love for her has just got bigger because last week it was revealed she has become the face of a favourite designer of mine - Roberto Cavalli *screams.*

No secret that I ADORE Rihanna and I do love a good editorial so it was only a matter of a few days before I blogged about Rihanna for V Magazine, and believe it's a good one.

Shot by Steven Klein and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Rihanna is seen working a platinum blonde wing, which she totally pulls off. This might be the first shoot were I like every single shot! It's difficult picking a favourite shot. Scroll down and have a look at the electric editorial....

Recall the saying 'green and pink should never be seen' - naa not on Rihanna, she totally makes the colours work. Bam.

Kendall Jenner for Calvin Klein

Kendall Jenner is everywhere in the world of fashion at the moment, between her and big sis Kim you just can't get away from the Kardashian/Jenner clan...not that you would want to (not being sarcastic - honest).

Following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber and Lara Stone, Kendall Jenner fronts the new Calvin Klein Jeans #mycalvins Denim series campaign, which is set to make its debut at Opening Ceremony on April 15th. The collection will also be available online on the Calvin Klein website from May 2015.

Shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Melanie Ward, Jenner features alongside model Simon Nessman wearing a number of streetwear inspired clothes, and boy does she show just why she is making waves in the modelling world.

For those of you that love a good old sports piece this is certainly the collection for you and if you don't like a bit of sportswear in your wardrobe well just have a look at the striking campaign, which shows Jenner working a very natural look. Cause she a fashion killa....

It is no secret that I adore Rihanna - from her style to her music, I even love her attitude. So, naturally I am loving that Rihanna is everywhere again - in the last week alone we have been graced with not one but two magazine editorials featuring the beauty that is RiRi...obvs had to blog it. Also gave me an excuse to use music lyrics for a title - double score ;)

Rihanna for US Harpers Bazaar
Let's start with Rihanna's most recent editorial featuring in US Harpers Bazaar's March 2015 issue. RiRi is seen recreating the famous Jaws photo to mark the films 40th anniversary and you bet she does a fab job.

Shot by Norman Jean Roy and styled by Mel Ottenberg the Barbadian beauty is seen working a number of swimsuits by the likes of Burberry, Mugler and Chanel all whilst swimming with real sharks. Go Rihanna!

Rihanna for i-D Magazine
I love a good i-D magazine cover, they always do something cool and different so when I saw their pre-Spring 2015 music issue featuring Rihanna I fell in love with it.

The cover was revealed just a few days after Rihanna gave the world FourFiveSeconds featuring another one of my favs Kanye West and of course the legendary Paul McCartney - it's a good song, with an unexpected country vibe, which you all need to check out if you haven't. Good timing.

Shot by Paolo Roversi, Rihanna is seen sporting a braided look in a number of denim pieces all styled by Alastair McKimm (matches Rihanna's styling in the music video of FourFiveSeconds). This shoot is all about the eyes so go on scroll down, have a look and see the intensity of Rihanna's eyes...

Rihanna shows us how to work an all denim look, yep exactly like this. Spot on.

SS 15 campaign Roundup...

First blog post of the year and it is long overdue considering it is nearly February - my bad...I got busy holidaying and just life in general.

Hmm how to start of the first post of 2015? After all one could say the first post of the year sets the tone for the year to come and well since we all know I love a good campaign I thought I would pick out my top 5 campaigns that are currently doing the rounds. Not predictable at all....go on scroll down.

Alexander Wang
Never one to disappoint, especially when it comes to campaign settings, (remember last years, you know the one set in a public loo, yeah that one), and this time round is no different. The location shows the models strike a pose in a party bus - whoop. Shot by Steven Klein, styling by Karl Templer and with Pascal Dangin behind the art direction this is one party bus that you sure want to be on this year.

Alexander McQueen

From one Alexander to another, yep Alexander McQueen's SS 15 campaign does not disappoint, not that it ever would. Karolin Wolter fronts the campaign which is shot by David Sims....

Balenciaga
Steven Klein works his magic once again but this time for Balenciaga. Sasha Pivovarova fronts the striking campaign, which sees her trapped in what I would describe as a detention centre all while looking perfect in head to toe Balenciaga...can't see the crime in that, can you?

Dolce and Gabbana

With Domenico Dolce behind the lens and Stefano Gabbana behind the art direction the SS15 Dolce and Gabbana campaign was not going to disappoint. Well actually there is one thing that disappoints and that is that the amaze clothes and accessories are not in my wardrobe...

Agent Provocateur
Naomi Campbell fronts the Agent Provocateur campaign which sees the model work a number of sexy poses, obvs had to include. Ellen von Unwerth is the 'g' behind the camera and does a damn good job...

Vogue Paris 'Panoplies'

Whilst everyone starts to round up the best things of 2014 I thought I would rather dedicate my last blog post of 2014 to the best editorial of the year -Vogue Paris' 'Panoplies'. Very suited since most of my posts consist of me gushing over editorials in magazines around the world - truth.

With Giampaolo Sgura behind the lens and styled by Claire Dhelens and Celia Azoulay the editorial sees models Elisabeth Erm and Magdalena Frackowiak live out every girls dream - yep they get to wear the best of the best of designer wear whilst being human Barbies - can't think of anything better!

The only question to bare in mind whilst scrolling through this post would be is which human Barbie do you want to be - Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu or Ralph Lauren? Moschino Human Barbie all the way for me....would wear that look in a second....

Kendall Jenner for Dazed & Confused

On one end of the Kardashian/ Jenner spectrum you have Kim Kardashian West showing us her nooks and crannies - I judge not as at the end of the day it's her body and her choice to do that cover, you know what cover I am on about - whilst on the other end sister Kendall is making waves in the fashion industry and boy are those waves getting bigger and better by the day. Quite an extreme spectrum when you think about it, really.

Since I set my eyes on Kendall Jenner's Dazed & Confused Winter issue covers I have been in awe. The reality star turned model is seen on not one but three covers and she looks completely different in them all. If you thought the covers were good wait until you set your eyes on the editorial inside the magazine, which shows Jenner's versatility as a model and just why Marc Jacobs was right to put her on his runway.

Photographed by Ben Toms and styled by Robbie Spencer this is one editorial that is certain to shut up all those who ever doubted Kendall has got what it takes to make it in the big old world of high fashion. I am not afraid to admit I, like most, was a bit skeptical when I first heard Kendall was trying to make it as a model and you know what she's proved me wrong - good on her! Kendall certainly does have it what it takes, scroll down and see why....

Versace for Riachuelo

Nothing like a bit of Versace in your life, always have been a fan, so naturally when I set my eyes on their collaboration with Brazilian department store Riachuelo I had to share it. Versace AND Brazil... yep what more do you want.

Fronted by the beauty that is Adriana Lima and shot by Mert and Marcus, the campaign is full of nautical opulence (never thought you would see those two words put together did you?). Scroll down to have a look at the quirky campaign, and give yourself another reason to love Versace....

This is certainly my favourite shot - love the jewellery too.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Vogue Mexico

If you follow me on Twitter, in amongst my random ramblings, you may have seen me tweet my love for an editorial in the latest issue of Vogue Mexico. Well that editorial has mesmerised me so much so that I felt one tweet does it no justice and it needs a whole blog post to allow me to share my love for it.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is seen on not one but three covers for the November issue of Vogue Mexico but nope I'm not awing at the covers; for me it was the editorial inside that caught my eye. As someone who loves an editorial or a campaign that glamourises the most unglamorous of places this editorial was right up my street. Yep, Huntington-Whiteley is seen striking a pose or two in stunning Versace and Miu Miu pieces in non other than...wait for it...a laundrette - glam or what?!

Shot by James Macari and styled by Sarah Gore Reeves this is one shoot that will make you think twice about what you wear when you next pop over to your laundrette....go on scroll down.

The Antonio Berardi jacket is stunning - love the bold colours going on in this shoot.

What better way to wait for your washing than with some pizza...

This is exactly how to pose for your next selfie when you are bored in the laundrette...washing powder in tow and all.

Again another outfit I adore and another chance for RHW to show us how to pose on a washing machine.

RHW shows us how to look cool whilst waiting for your washing to finish, that is if you don't fancy pizza or an ice lolly....

It is Mexico, so yeah weather is suited to eat an ice lolly...in a laundrette.

Mary Katrantzou x Adidas Originals

If there are two things I like it's a good print design and a bit of sportswear so naturally when I heard Mary Katrantzou, a.k.a London's Queen of prints, was set to do a collaboration with Adidas I was obviously going to dedicate a blog post to the collection - well here is that post.

The collection takes inspiration from track shoes worn by medal winners in the 70s and 80s and sees a number of neoprene pieces and trainers that would make any winner stand out on the track.

Have a scroll and see some of the pieces from the collection that is set to hit stores on 15th November - I recommend flagging that date in your diaries ladies because this is defo a collection that will sell out fast.

This bomber jacket and dress is the stand out piece for me - want it!

Go Hard or Go Home

Interview Magazine always do have good editorials in them and the October issue sees a stand out spread and no it's not because it reminds me of the streets of Liverpool after the city has had a big night out - don't worry I can say that I'm Northern...

If a saying could sum up an editorial then 'Go Hard or Go Home' would be perfectly suited for this spread that shows models Lily Donaldson, Daria Strokous, Andreea Diaconu, Edita Vilkeviciute and Anja Rubik after a messy night out *not necessarily pictured in a Northern city*

Styled by Karl Templer the models are seen working a number of pieces, by the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, DVF, Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga, illustrating how to look glam whilst sprawled across the streets of your nearest City (or how not to end up after a night out)

Fabien Baron's amazing photography adds to the vibe of the shoot, titled 'Pretty Wasted,' which is certainly one to check out, so go on scroll down and have a gander, and see how not to end up after a night out...

L'Officiel Italia A/W '14 issue sees Coco Rocha channel Minerva and boy does she portray her well...so well I had to share on here - standard.

Styled by Peggy Schuller and with Kristian Schuller behind the lens the striking shoot sees Coco Rocha work a number of cinematic poses in classic pieces by Chanel, Valentino, Dior and Alexander McQueen, to name a few. Scroll down and have a look at my favourite shots from the shoot....

Alexander Wang for H&M

Yep that time has come, to awe at the Alexander Wang for H&M campaign or if not awe at least have a look.

With a sporty vibe around the collaboration having Footballer Andy Carroll (West Ham) and kick boxer Rivaldino Santos, front the campaign alongside models Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fonatana, Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann, is quite the fit. You may be thinking out of all the sports men out there why Carroll and Santos? No idea, I was surprised at this but hey ho who knows what is going on in Alexander Wang's mind - maybe he's a secret West Ham supporter... ;)

The TV campaign is also set to debut on TV screens end of October and with the collection set to hit stores 6th November it is certainly set to get fashion lovers everywhere excited. In the meantime though wet your fashion collaboration appetite with a first look at the ad campaign by scrolling down...

When I Walk In Your Shoes....

On Thursday evening I went along with a friend (lucky for me she had a plus one) to check out the 'When I Walk In Your Shoes' exhibition at the Westbank Gallery in Notting Hill.

Curated by Amy Winehouse's tattoo artist and friend, Henry Hate, the exhibition features a variety of artworks by current artists all celebrating Winehouse. Named after the first verse in Amy Winehouse's 'Help Yourself' the exhibition reflects Winehouse's unique style and sound.

The exhibition is on until the 1st October so I highly recommend you check it out, especially if like me you love art, music and of course Amy Winehouse. It was certainly really cool to see how various artists interpreted Amy Winehouse through their art. Amy in Wonderland was certainly my favourite artwork out of them all - the three paintings can be interpreted however you want...

Vogue Japan: My Market Days

With fashion week currently taking place - NYFW is done and dusted and LFW is in full swing - rather than blog about the catwalk happenings in the fashionsphere, (after all where can't you see that), I thought I would blog about an editorial that has caught my eye.... no shocker there, right?

Vogue Japan's latest spread is the oh so amazing editorial that has caught my eye this week. Why? Well not only does it feature my favourite Moshino collection and have Anna Dello Russo as the genius behind the styling of the shoot, which features models Lindsey Wixson, Catherine Loewe and Hanne Gaby Odiele work their best model pose in the Supermarket. Giampaolo Sgura is the man behind the lense and he sure knows how to make grocery shopping look like a fun, quirky past time.

South West Four 2014

Since I haven't done a music related post in yonks and as myself and my friend went to SW4 yesterday, it's only right I bring some music love...well kind of...to my blog.

Yesterday was the first time I went to SW4, this year the lineup stood out to me, especially for Sunday so I had to get myself some tickets. It was actually set to be the highlight of my August and perhaps because I had such high expectations for SW4, it could be why it wasn't as AMAZING as I was expecting it to be (note the capitals). Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, I did have fun but I think after yesterday it's fair to say I'm not going to be going again.

Why I hear you say? Well the crowd plays a big part that's why and a lot of people there were not there for the music, half of them spent most of their time shoving everyone out the way to go in and out of the tent and a lot of the time did not recognise who was playing. The amount of people that asked me who Eric Prydz was (serious face to palm moments) was unreal. As a music lover I specifically went to SW4 to see Eric Prydz, Kolsch, Madeon, Gorgon City (who I didn't get to see/hear fully...) so that kind of stuff does grate me a bit. I've been to a lot gigs and festivals in the past few years and SW4's crowd was the worst - having a good crowd makes all the difference - believe me it really does! I also think with a festival because there are so many sets (in this case) it is difficult to see them all and after yesterday I've decided I would rather just see them when they do their own headline tour e.g. take Deadmau5 - I saw him back in 2012 in a really intimate setting and he was SO good - I was so close and it was amazing - yesterday in a open field with thousands of people, nope, not the same.

All that being said, a highlight set of the day was Kolsch - after seeing him at SW4 I would want to go see him again, I absolutely adore Kolsch 's remix of Sky Full of Stars and Cassiopeia so I made a point to go along to the Edible tent and he did not disappoint! The mixes Kolsch did were on point and where enhanced by the visuals.

Eats Everything was another highlight - his mixes are good, if you are not familiar I highly recommend you check him out here. With this set the visuals made all the difference and Eats Everything went all out, I swear there was fire, which come up from the stage when he started his set, followed by massive balloons falling on to the crowd. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for Eats Everything's full set as it clashed with Eric Prydz who was performing on the main stage literally 25 mins after Eats Everything started his set, but for that 20 minutes that I was there he was really good!

Leading on to the man himself Eric Prydz, someone who I have wanted to see for so long I was so excited! Eric Prydz's set was cool, the visuals were great but I have to say it was spoilt by the outdoor setting (it was too light, the visuals looked much better when it got darker outside) the crowd and poor sound system. The music needed to be much louder, I do like my music at ignorent levels, but come on, to enjoy house/techno music you have to have it turned up real loud! I was also disappointed Eric Prydz didn't include Pjanno in his set, it is my all time favourite of his and I have wanted to hear it live for so long, but alas I didn't get too. That being said it hasn't put me of Prydz, I still would go and see him but just not in a SW4 setting....

Phresh out of W Mag....

Every now and then you get a magazine spread that makes you do a double take - I'm talking so good that you actually have to look twice just to make sure your eyes are not deceiving you and you haven't just imagined what you have seen! Believe me when I say that is exactly what happens when you see the September issue of W Magazine.

W Mag have gone all out for this issue, not only is Rihanna looking fierce on the cover but it gets better because my fav puts her best fashion foot forward to celebrate all things Balmain with, wait for it, Naomi Campbell AND Iman - yes you read correctly and can I just say Rihanna doesn't half hold her own next to the legendary models.

Shot by Emma Summerton and styled by Edward Enninful, the three wonder women are seen modelling pieces from Balmain's A/W '14 collection - go on scroll down and get ready to be amazed!

Osmoze S/S '15 Jeans Campaign...

Ever since the World Cup I have become obsessed with everything Brazil - it has totally left a mark on me...

So naturally when I saw the Brazilian brand, Osmoze SS '15 campaign I totally HAD to blog it - not necessary because of the clothing but more so because of the amazing Brazilian landscapes (the Island of Fernando de Noronha to be exact) all enhanced by the photography and of course models Candice Swanepoel and Marlon Teixeira.

Shot by Gui Paganini, styled by Pedro Salles and with Daniel Burmna behind the art direction, the campaign sees a variety of colour and black and white shots, which show Candice and Marlon working their magic in a variety of pieces from the brand's S/S '15 collection. With the breathtaking scenery as the backdrop I think you will all be thinking the same as me after seeing the campaign - leve-me para o Brasil ;)

Really like the print of the shirt in this shot.

Thought I would throw in one of the black and white shots, even though the colour shots were my fav....
