Author: prenoyyonerp

Healthy aging and wellness is simply defined as living a healthy lifestyle and living in a state of optimum well-being; no sickness or any type of disease, feeling happy and contented, and maintaining a healthy relationship with other people.

Here are a few tips which will give you insight on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Poor nutrition has a detrimental effect on your health so it is best to begin with you seriously looking at a whole new eating plan.

You are what you eat. Remember that the systems in our body are working nonstop each day and they need proper nutrients to keep on operating normally. It is not bad to be a vegetarian but going vegan is not the only way to stay fit.

Bear in mind that a wide variety of healthy foods can help you on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Everyone should eat most foods from vegetables, fruits, breads, grains and cereals. Eat some meat, milk, cheese, and yoghurt. And have small amount of fats, oils, and sweets. A chocolate bite won't kill you!

Strive to maintain your ideal weight. A lot of people don't really feel like they have a diet issue, but are shocked when the doctor or nutritionist tells them that they're overweight or underweight. How do you know whether you have an issue or not? Consult your doctor.

If we have problem, most of us do smoking and drinking even forget to eat our meal. This is not healthy. Problems are normal. We should not forget to maintain a good lifestyle even though we have problems. If we do, we are facing a big problem.

Good food and exercising go hand in hand and it is no use just having a well balanced diet as exercise also enhances your well being and releases stress and tension. If you enjoy a good work out then join a gym.

Staying completely hydrated with drinks is crucial, but water is by far the most vital drink. Water can help clean your system out and keep you energized throughout the day. It may seem like a lot, but on average you should be drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day.

Make a point of taking time out so that you can recharge. Try yoga or meditation, even relaxing in a hot tub surrounded by candle light will revive your mind and body. It is important to chill out and not burn out.

You should always try to maintain a happy and positive viewpoint. You can join clubs, meditation or yoga centers or participate in various activities, as these things will not only improve your life but will also keep your spirit and mind in high spirits, away from stress and tension.

Another major factor in maintaining a healthy lifestyle is social support. This is your network of friends and family that will support you in your journey. It is important to have this support because otherwise it can become very daunting and overwhelming.

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, let us change our bad habits and eat more fruits and vegetables, and do exercise. Instead giving more time in playing PS3 and other computer games, why not try to play outdoor game such as basketball and badminton. It is a sort of exercise and aside from that we will meet new friends. We achieve a healthy lifestyle and healthy relationship to others.

Healthy Eating Guide For Kids

Author: TARKITIM

Eating can actually be healthy and fun. But with the proliferation of fast foods and other tasty cholesterol-rich snack items, making your child see the beauty of eating healthy and natural food may become a challenge. Since access to unhealthy food choices are easy, and the choices are plenty, what‘s the best way for introducing healthy eating habits to your kids? Here are some effective healthy eating guidelines to consider.

Healthy Foods Actually Tastes Good

The typical fast food fare can be very tempting for most kids today. The problem is that the usual fast food fare consists of high-salt, high-sugar and high-calorie food items, which kids find so appealing, and are also easier to eat. For parents who are concerned about their children's eating habits, learn to keep your cool. The reality is that healthy food can actually taste great. However, making your children love eating healthy food may require more effort and extra planning. While carrot sticks or cauliflower stalks may not be as fun as a plate of French Fries, you'll require a little time and creativity to make these natural food items appealing to your kids.

Slowly Introduce Your Kids To A Wide Array of Fruits and Veggies

Making your children adopt healthy eating habits need not end up in a shouting match, or a concentration camp forced-eating regimen. Slowly introducing your children to a wide array of fruits and vegetables will help in jump-starting their appreciation of healthy eating. As most fruits are naturally sweet, it should not pose much of a barrier for kids to like. You can even create stories about the fruits and vegetables they consume, to make things more interesting. The most satisfying thing is that, once your kids consume the fruit, you're assured that they're getting their fill of vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Cook At Home, And Involve Your Kids

According to most healthy eating advocates, every child should be taught how to cook, both in school and at home, and not simply be fed with slogans about good nutrition. The truth is that good and healthy food can actually be cooked in just 15 minutes. Also make it a practice to involve your kids in cooking food at the kitchen. Guide your kids through the recipe. While the older kids can chop the veggies, the younger ones can help toss the salad dressing or veggies. It will also be great if you could bring the kids along to the market when buying your ingredients. The best thing with this activity is that children will easily understand the significance of food preparation, and have a better appreciation of healthy eating.

If you're kids are initially not receptive to your healthy eating suggestions, don't worry. Never give up in your quest to make your children find the fun in healthy eating. As most children will outgrow their often limited eating habits, their tastes and food choices shall develop and expand, over time.

Although it may take you more than 10 or 15 tries before your kids start appreciating the perks of eating legumes, beans, cabbages, squash, lettuce and other greens. Once they find the fun in eating fruits and vegetables, you'll soon find yourself with happy, contented and healthy eaters.

Author: Christopher

A rather upcoming concept in mainstream industry, green engineering essentially means the optimum use of energies and resources to reduce harm to the environment. Since a long time now, the focus has been on a 'green' world. This of course goes on to include a whole lot of changes relating to global climate, optimum use of energy and sustaining ecology as a whole.

The concept of green engineering essentially encompasses using such modern techniques that would ensure efficient use of technology and create products that help the environment. Across the world, engineers and innovators are working towards developing such techniques that address the environmental issues faced by societies. Green engineering is thus involved in supplying the tools, methods and the required technology to provide impetus to this innovation.

The three basic principles of green engineering are:

- Minimization of pollution at the source itself

- Minimizing health risks and hazards to people

- Providing cost effective technology

In this, a green engineer clearly understands and supports the philosophy that controlling these three principles is likely to provide the greatest benefits to people.

What Does Green Engineering Include?

Since green engineering is the basis of establishing a sustainable ecology, the process is required to start at the beginning. Some of the aspects covered by green engineering include:

- Monitoring engineering processes to assess environmental implications

- Conserving natural environment in a way that promotes human welfare

- Energy that is used should be as harmless and natural as possible

- Ensure adequate recycling happens wherever possible

- Decrease industrial waste

- Reduce any form of reduction in natural resources

- Constantly improve on technologies to ensure adequate 'green' engineering

- Wherever possible, reduce carbon emissions

- Use of technology that gives impetus to carbon efficiency

One of the prime objectives of green engineering is to create a sustainable ecology with a rather holistic approach. Taking up the 'green' approach right in the beginning ensures that a constant pattern of sustenance is followed throughout. Another major advantage of starting with green engineering early is its cost effectiveness. Planning and implementing this in the initial stages is definitely far more economical and energy-saving that making changes later. To get the most out of this engineering pattern, crucial changes in production functions must be made at the time when materials are chosen. Use of such materials as recycled ones, or those that can be put to multiple uses are thus recommended.

With a sudden spur in the demand for green engineers, there are a number of career options that have come up in this field. Some of these job types include the following:

Geothermal Operation Engineer: A person working in this sector would be responsible for the proper functioning of the plant. In addition, he would also be required to monitor, assess and provide solutions to any problem encountered.

Environmental Engineer: This is particularly of interest to those who are adept at understanding the ecological aspects. Some of the possible areas included in this would be to provide clean air, land and water to people as well as work towards reduction of pollution.

Electrical Engineer: Electrical green engineers are particularly involved in providing opportunities of electricity by natural resources. These include electricity generated by wind turbines, solar panels and hydro-electricity.

Solar Operations Engineer: This job type includes the optimum use of solar energies. Specialists in this field are skilled in harnessing and using solar energy for a number of purposes.

Smart Grid Engineer: These engineers are responsible for monitoring the electrical power infrastructure. Since they mostly work with new technologies, they must be skilled at quick understanding and resolution of problems.

Thermal Engineer: Specialists in the area of thermo-dynamics deal with the issue of heat transfer, mass transfer and fluid dynamics. The main areas that a thermal engineer would have to deal with would be the production and maintenance of various cost-effective and sustainable heaters with the use of natural resources as well as optimum use of thermal to generate power.

Energy Engineer: An energy engineer is involved in dealing with a mix of electrical and mechanical engineering. In other words, people opting for this career are required to use energy as optimally as possible for everyday needs without disturbing the environment.

Considering the importance of a green engineer, it goes without saying that this arena is one of the most upcoming and well-paying segments. Those involved in this must always look for ways to improve their existing conditions without causing ecological damage.

Author: Len Jarosz

Is living clean and green difficult? Well, it can be a little difficult when you are not completely sure how to go about doing it. Some may assume that living green is a complex or difficult process. In the past, it was tough to live green. Other than keeping your energy expenditures down and replacing inefficient appliances, there was little a person could do. Those with significant budgets could procure solar panels for the home. Today, solar panels are not a luxury as they have come down greatly in price. And, thankfully, there are scores of other minor methods that can help improve your home's ability to go green. Some of these other methods are well worth exploring.

For example, did you know that there are organic cleaning agents that can replace many of the traditional chemical detergents that are commonly available on the market? These detergents are made with natural products that do not deliver the problematic fumes that can make the interior of a home unsafe. And, most damaging to the environment is the release of these chemicals into the environment when they are washed down the drain. The impact of such weak disposal on the environment can be significantly enormous. Through using biodegradable and natural detergents, this negative impact will be completely eliminated. These natural detergents are also no where near as expensive as some assume which makes them quite accessible to a variety of budgets.

Sometimes, taking a few basic simple steps is all that is needed to enhance the ability of a home to go green. Purchasing incandescent light bulbs is another simple method for reducing your home's proverbial carbon footprint. Such light bulbs use far less electricity than the traditional light bulb and last much longer. In addition to helping the environment, these light bulbs also help keep you home budget in check!

Then, there is the most common means of making sure a home is green: recycling. Recycling is significantly important to preserving the environment because it is able to reduce a number of problems associated with environmental depletion. Paper, as most are well aware, derives from trees. When you recycle something as basic as a newspaper, you are eliminating the need to need to cut down trees for future paper production. Recycling plastics is something many people will take part in although they may not be completely sure how this improves the environment. The reason it is so helpful is because plastic derives from petroleum which requires oil to product. By recycling plastic, you are reducing the need to deplete oil reserves. This helps keep the environment clean and keeps the price of a barrel of oil low.

Yes, the steps one can take to ensure a home is properly green are no where near as tough as some assume. Simply taking a few basic steps will certainly deliver the results needed to turn your home into an environmentally sound abode. Yes, if you want to contribute to the environment, you can do something about in a rather easy to achieve manner.

OCS Waste is the leading <a href="http://www.blogger.com/http" www.onslowcontainer.com?="">North Carolina Residential and Commericial Trash Pickup company, working alongside Governement organizations to provide services including Document Shredding in the Carolinas and Efficient Recycling services.

Author: King of Kontent

Some people like being in public, and prefer to go to a local fitness center to work out, meet new people, flash their muscles, or just get out of the house. There are numerous fitness centers available to the public, so they have their benefits. On the other hand, there are just as many, if not more, physical benefits in home gym fitness equipment, and many other benefits as well.

Let's say the cost of a membership at a typical fitness center is $35/month or $420/year. You may have to drive through the horrendous traffic to get there, and though it might be a large center with lots of equipment, there will probably also be a lot of people using the equipment, meaning you may have to wait for a machine quite often. A lot of times, you may have to clean the equipment yourself before you can use it, unless you want to sit in a pool of someone else's sweat. Bad, loud music is also a possibility, and with traffic, cost, and lack of convenience added together, you might be better off investing in some home gym fitness equipment.

Start out with what your budget can afford. For the price of 1 month at a fitness center, you can get an exercise ball, a jump rope, and a set of dumbbells for your wrists and arms. Over the next several months you can add a stationary bike, a stair stepper, or both, and they are quite inexpensive. You will find that you can exercise much more frequently, and never have to wait for somebody to leave a machine before you can use it. You will also save on gas, and time, by not having to drive to the gym through heavy traffic, and if you want to listen to music, it will be YOUR music, and thoroughly enjoyable. You might also consider adding a treadmill, or a low-impact elliptical trainer, and a set of free weights to add muscle if so desired. Another advantage of the portable home gym fitness equipment is when it comes time to move, as each piece is easily packed and transported.

If you paid dues as a member of a fitness center for 15 years at $35/month, you would have paid over $6,300.00 as a member, not counting the gasoline cost of going to the center three or four times a week, which would be a considerable sum by itself, and the time saved by not commuting is extra time you can use to work out, or enjoy other hobbies. If you have the room, you might want to invest in an All-In-One gym. They are fairly compact machines, and have a wide variety of exercise options not available with portable fitness equipment . It takes a few hours to put one together, but they last many years, and the benefits to your body, including reducing blood pressure and lowering the risk of heart disease, will make home gym fitness equipment one of the best investments of your life.

Author: gaurisharma

Yoga practice should be more focused, balanced, and centered. You stand stronger and remain more grounded throughout the sequences. Other days can be less steady and more wobbly, constantly struggling to find your balance with each yoga position. The tree pose happens to be one of those yoga positions that can give a clear indication if you are going to have a strong practice or a wobbly one. It can appear as one of the simplest yoga positions but can be extremely challenging. Fortunately there are techniques and strategies to help stabilize your body through this position.

When starting to do the tree pose find a vertical line about six feet away from you that you can fix your eyes on. Balance yourself firmly on one leg. Bend the knee of the other leg and place the foot on the inside of the opposite thigh. Bring your hands together in front of your chest to assist with your beginning balance. Once you feel steady on your one leg, then lift the two hands to above your head and straighten your arms as if trying to touch the ceiling all while focusing your eyes on your vertical line.

Stand firmly without wobbling or swaying for as long as possible, breath deeply and slowly. Release your arms back to your side and bring the foot back to the floor. Use a stripe on the wall, a doorway molding, a pole, any straight vertical line as your focal point instead of a spot. When moving the hands from in front of the body to above the head your line of vision can shift ever so slightly so with a linear focus your eyes can adjust without having to shift your balance.

Practice yoga to improve balance, get more energy, relieve tension and increase strength. If you are serious about improving your health and appearance then the next yoga positionsmove are up to you.
Losing Fat The Healty Way

Author: Animesh Pal

One way to prevent this situation is to make people conscious of the risks of being overweight or obese. Here are some diseases that you are putting yourself in risk of if you are carrying a lot of extra pounds:

1. heart disease

2. stroke

3. diabetes

4. cancer

5. arthritis

6. hypertension

Losing weight helps to check and keep these diseases under control. The quick weight loss systems which have spread like fire these days, do not provide lasting results. More often than not, dieting methods which comprise dietary drinks, foods and supplements or pills do not work. If they do, the results are just temporary.

It is better to rely on a healthy weight loss option which will provide a lifetime of results. You have to set sensible goals and not expect to lose a lot of pounds in a short span of time.

The following are tips on how you can lose those surplus pounds the healthy way:

1. Do not starve your self.

The key to a healthier way of losing weight is: Do not diet.

You may seem happy and feel that you are losing those unwanted fat from your belly and thighs by omitting meals. But remember that this would not last long. Your body cannot put up with having insufficient food to fuel the energy that you need everyday. If you get used to omitting one or two meals a day, your stockpile of calories will be used up instead of the energy that should have been supplied by your meals. So if you just eat one huge sandwich in one day, it will end up straight to your problem area (i.e. highs, buttocks, hips).

2. Start your day right.

Mothers always say that breakfast is the most significant meal of the day. Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump-start your metabolism. Your food intake after you wake up will be used to burn fat all day long.

3. Eat small, healthy meals frequently.

Five small-serving snacks per day is better than three hearty meals. Eating more frequently, and in small servings, can prevent over-eating. This will also boost your metabolism and make calories burn faster.

4. Decide on how much weight you want to lose. Keep your goals sensible. In the long run, it is virtually unachievable for you to lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks. Have a mindset that you want to eat healthy to stay healthy for the rest of your life. Once you have decided on a weight loss plan or program, stick to it and make sure that you follow your own set of dieting rules.

5. Drink lots of water.

Your body needs an adequate daily supply of water to burn fat and keep your cells hydrated and healthy.

6. Avoid too much sugar.

Design your meals around lots of fruits and vegetables, some bread, rice or pasta for that carbohydrate fix that you need, plus lean meat and protein rich-foods. Sweets, sodas and pastries should be once-in-a-while extravagances only.

7. Watch your fat intake.

Fat is not the culprit to being overweight. You need this to keep your weight at the proper level. There is such a thing as healthy fats. Olive, peanuts and canola oil have them. Tuna, salmon and mackerel have omega-3 fats which is good for the heart.

8. Exercise.

Leave your car if you are only going a few blocks from home, take the stairs instead or the elevator, jog, cycle or skate. Use these activities and other home chores if you are too lazy to go to the gym and take exercise classes. Make sure that you do this on a regular basis and you will not even notice that you are already losing pounds with these everyday activities. It does not matter how much weight you plan or need to lose. What is important is that you set practical goals for yourself.

Go slow. If you have already lost 5 or 6 pounds, give yourself a break then try to lose the next 5 pounds. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, have enough sleep and exercise. This will give you a higher chance of losing weight and improving your health, which would result to a new, healthier you.

Most popular weight loss pills are essentially herbal and natural in nature and composition. These herbal pills are made by combining several natural ingredients in different quantities. A number of them are readily available in your favorite super store, while some of them are up for sale online on sales portals as well. Most of these pills are yet to be clinically tested and proved comprehensively for safety standards. A well known example is perhaps the herb, Bitter Orange, which is known to suppress your appetite, so that you don’t feel hungry to eat your food. On the other hand, weight loss pills made out of a substance called Chitosan, is known to block absorption of dietary fat into your body, which may prove quite dangerous under high dosages. Country Mallow is yet another herbal substance that is supplied in the form of weight loss pills. Ephedra and Guar Gum are also known to possess some properties, that control your appetite and block dietary fat metabolism.

How these weight loss pills interact and work individually and collectively with your body system, is still unknown and it needs further advanced research. Using these pills could be a risky venture, especially if you’re taking other synthetic medications, or if you’ve been suffering from one of those terminal diseases. Keep in your mind that even if you’re currently ingesting these weight loss pills, you still have to consume and use some amount of calories, than your body actually uses, just in order to lose weight.

If you’ve have been taking these weight loss pills, you’ll need to be on your guard to avoid many unforeseen adverse side effects. Neither these pills are clinically tested and proven for safe use nor are their chemical structure conducive for human consumption. A majority of these weight loss pills are a combination of more than ten substances, whose real effects are yet to be tested. Furthermore, they tend to drastically suppress your appetite, so that the energy reserve of your body system is made to deplete after sometime. This rapid depletion of body energy may create severe imbalances in your body system’s ability to carry on with normal metabolic processes.
Then, pour over enough water to cover the chickpeas and an additional 2 cm more. Leave to soak overnight. In the morning they will look plump and swollen.

Step 3: Drain and purée chickpeas

Hold the chickpeas over the sink and drain off the water with your hand over the bowl.

Don't overfill the blender! If the blender is small, you will have to do it in batches. If you have a bigger mixer you can do it all at once.

Close the blender and pulse a couple of times, then blend on full power until you create a breadcrumb like mixture. Check the consistency by stirring with a spoon. If necessary, blend again on full power until you create a fine purée. Then transfer into a bowl.

Step 4: Purée the rest of ingredients

Introduce the parsley, coriander, chilli, garlic along with 2 tablespoons of the puréed chickpeas into the bowl of the blender.

Step 5: Mix and season

Spoon the blended mixture into the bowl of puréed chickpeas. Then add the flour, the cumin, the crushed coriander seeds, the baking soda and about one and a half tablespoons of salt. Finally, add some pepper. Combine it all together thoroughly with a spoon. If it looks too dry, a few drops of water can be added.

Step 6: Preheat the oil

Place the saucepan on the hob and add the oil. Then heat it up on a medium high setting.

Step 7: Make the Falafel balls

Take a small amount of the blended mixture in your fingertips and mould into small balls. Then place onto a baking tray.

This amount of ingredients should make around twenty five to thirty balls.

Kept covered, this mixture will keep for one day in the fridge.

Individually, spoon half the batch of falafel balls into the oil. Allow to fry for 2 minutes until golden brown, stirring with the slotted spoon, so they brown evenly. Then remove and drain on a tray prepared with some kitchen towel. Now repeat the process with the remaining falafel balls.

Step 9: Serve and enjoy

The falafel balls are now ready!
