Selfishness is mankind's fundamental defect. Selfish means: self-centered, self-serving, self-important. At the root of every problem is selfishness. Giving is the opposite of acting selfishly. Divine love is the opposite of selfishness.

No other "religion" teaches to put others first, to love your enemies. Christianity is the only one that teaches you can be totally changed and become a person with a new nature.

We are products of a corrupt culture that teaches selfishness. All sin is selfish. No one ever sins for someone else -- we do it for selfish reasons.

You can't change the fruit without changing the root. That is why you must be born again! Only by receiving Jesus Christ, and letting Him change you, can you be a truly unselfish person.

Pride is self-importance and self-focus -- which leads to selfishness which is selfish thinking and selfish acting -- which is the opposite of Jesus' command of agape love (John 13:34).

Pride and selfishness always go together. A truly humble person cannot be selfish at the same time.

Pride is the root of selfishness -- and thus the root of all evil. Pride is hidden but manifests as selfish acts. Selfishness is the cause of all evil. All evil proceeds from selfish actions. Selfishness is the only manifest problem, but pride feeds it. Dealing with the root cause of the problem is the only lasting solution.

GALATIANS 5:19-21 NKJ
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4 NKJ
3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

It takes faith to put others first. It takes faith to receive, but it takes even more faith to forsake -- because it does not seem to be in our self-interest. (Hebrews 11:27)

ROMANS 12:10 NKJ
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-7 NKJ
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

As I read everything I wrote, the words fell off my lips and into my heart. Me as a woman is definitely seeking change. When one person is changing, the ones around them will (for the best). I'm neva a selfish person, but I'm also not perfect. Don't take and take and take and never give. It's like handing someone the world and you throw them a pebble. Have a good day everyone.

Please take time to read...This is some good info on a healthy marriage and relationship working towards marriage advice.

Marriage isn't scary, what makes it scary is when things don't work out and your left to deal with the repercussions leaving an individual to not want to marry again. To be in a healthy marriage and to be able to marry, is a definite no given feeling knowing that it was in your destined plan, NOT under certain circumstances which forced a marriage. To be selfish is to be married foolishly not knowing the difference.

So many marriages end in divorce because of sinful pride. This sinful pride often lurks in the carnal attitude one has towards their spouse. So many married people have the attitude that they'll only do their part if their spouse does theirs. That attitude just won't work in the real world...not if you want to stay married. God never intended for a marriage to be a parasitic type of relationship where you only give to get. A marriage is supposed to based upon UNCONDITIONAL LOVE where each person gives 100% regardless of how much effort the spouse puts in. Is that fair? Of course not, but true love isn't based upon fairness. Was it fair that Jesus Christ should paid a debt he did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay? No, but He did it anyway because He loves us (Romans 5:8). Love oftentimes is not fair.

The Bible clearly teaches that we are no better than the heathen if only give to get. If we only love those who love us, then where is our reward? Jesus said in Matthew 5:46...

Biblical love is unconditional love. A parent who truly loves their child will NEVER disown their child. A husband who truly loves his wife will NEVER divorce her. A wife who truly loves her husband will NEVER divorce him.

People get divorced all the time because they get tired and want out. The green grass they seek is rarely what they thought it would be. You can't run from your miseries. We are living in a selfish generation where people look for excuses to run, shirk, and quit. It's just not right. Marriage is NOT an agreement, it's a lifetime COMMITMENT.

Often, marriage is simply two people putting up with each other for a lifetime. A marriage is like a horse and carriage. Everyone wants to sit up in the carriage, but who wants to clean up after the horses or change one of the carriage wheels? That's right, no one! There are going to be good times AND bad times in ANY marriage. If you've had few problems in your marriage up until now, then you have something to look forward to (because the bad times will come).

Though opposites attract, they usually make lousy marriages. A man who likes a clean house will continually fight with a wife who is a slob (and vise versa). When dating, people often feel more comfortable with people who AREN'T like them. Unfortunately, this often leads to troublesome marriages. Then again, love is blind...you can't decide when and where to fall in love. Life must take it's course. If you are married to someone who is very different from you, then make the best of it. A husband and wife must both COMMIT to treading through the bad times and swearing 100% loyalty to each other. The MOST important thing in any marriage is that you both RESPECT each other. Equally important is that you both COMMUNICATE. A person should always say "excuse me" before interrupting their spouse in a conversation. A husband should never unexpectedly bring home guests. A wife should never hand her husband money in front of people. A husband and wife should never correct each other in the presence of anyone. A successful marriage must be based upon mutual loyalty, respect, communication, and honesty. A husband and wife should be BEST friends. If they're not best friends after several years of marriage, then something is wrong.

A husband and wife should be loyal to each other above every other human institution or organization (this includes church and family). This is my opinion. I don't believe that a wife should ever counsel with her pastor without her husband knowing about it. If your husband is abusive, then leave him quietly and don't drag other people into your marriage. As soon as possible, communicate with him and talk it out. Seek Christian counseling if you need to, but don't allow ANYONE to split your marriage up. Everyone nowadays seems to be a marriage counselor (and they cause many divorces). It's amazing how someone who has only known you for less than an hour has your whole life figured out (and now they're telling you what you should do). Please don't listen to people. Tell your mother/father/sister/brother/friend/co-worker/etc to mind their own business. So many marriages/relationships have been destroyed by meddling people with assumingly good intentions. The Bible teaches that NOTHING should ever come between a husband and his wife...nothing (Matthew 19:6). If the husband and wife are at odds with each other, then leave it be...don't take sides or make things worse.

In fact, it's not a good idea to meddle with other people's problems period. Oh how people love to give unsought advice. Oh how people are idiots that ruin marriages. I'm telling you in this article to cut loose from all the idiots and make a vow in your own marriage to be 100% loyal, committed, faithful, honest, and protective of each other!!!

The very same people that you think are your "friends" during your marriage/relationship problems will be the very ones who abandon you when the smoke clears, the dust settles, and your marriage is in ruins. And who is to say they are just giving their ignorant advice for their own gain or hatred towards your relationship. My point is, if the advice doesn't sound or feel right, then you shouldn't be standing there to hear anymore.

Marriage is NOT 50/50...it is 100/100. If you don't give 100%, then shame on you. If you're fortunate enough to be loved, then your spouse will pick up the slack and be there for you. Certainly, there are times of weakness in all our lives when we need someone to pick us up and even carry us along. Unfortunate is the man or woman who is all alone in life. My heart goes out to you.

Some healthy advice right here. Your household is your home. Respect those that respect you. Take it or leave it and ask yourself, what is God telling you? What do you feel in your heart?

All I can say is, I Love my Best Friend and my future Hubby Michael. You are my completion and other half. 100%. Muahhhh baby, God Bless you.

Are you always tired and confused as to what to do everyday you wake up and then find yourself a sleep again? Thoughts running through your veins like poisonous venom. I live so contaminated by fantasy. Steady thriving on freedom. Confused and distressed by reality. Uh where has everyone gone?

Does anything ever make any sense? So many questions, but do we ever actually get the answer? Yes, yes we always get an answer. The answer is in your actions. Your body language. The people you hang out with on a daily. Your social life. That mirror in your bathroom. Look at yourself and tell me what you see. Whats deep inside your soul or even on the surface.

As for me, here's my inner thoughts. Why am I here? All you do is hurt me. Always putting people in my path to degrade me in anyway possible. So many tests but yet no commitment nor loyalty and love. I'm always assuming everyone around me is ready to hurt me at any given moment. My mind corrupted and damaged from pain. Smiles hide my true deep emotions of rage as they look at me with plans of deceit. As I'm always feeling this adrenaline of sadness overcome my happiness.

So I'm pitiful you say. Yet your Gods gift to this earth. Amazed at every sarcastic remark but your face tells me more. I see right through you. Nothing can hold me down but myself. Affects of another persons actions can't justify my spirit.

Thoughts like this use to pass through my head on a daily till I figured out who I was. How strong I can be. How powerful I actually am when fighting my demons.

Let go of every single negative thought. I know its hard. I know life is a challenge. You must take hold of your own destiny. Life is like an infection and only you can cure it. Find what works best for you. The easy way isn't the best way. Look forward to a new beginning instead underneath molded rocks.

Do you smell that? Fate! Yes, it's fate stepping in to uplift you. To motivate you. Grab it. Hold it. Hug it. Confide in it. It is your loop hole. Trust it.

Everyday that you wake up look in the mirror and tell yourself you can do it. You can make this day like no other. Don't listen to them inner thoughts of endless discouragement. If you can't make one promise in this world, promise yourself strength. Strength to over come all fears and possibilities.

Never believed in fairy tales, dreams or happy endings. Done a lot, been through a lot and made some bad choices along the way. But everything I have been through and done still hasn't made me a bad person. Just a person that has made bad decisions. Following those bad decisions I managed to put myself through school, get a few certificates and diplomas and actually have my own little business that I'm sure will pick up soon if not later on. But FAITH has been my backbone.
Then there's my son. The best baby in the world. Changed my life and way of thinking from being with no child to having one. From everything I grew up knowing about parenting has made me make sure to do my best to guide and protect my son by all means. Now he is 16 and a young goofy kid but he is mine and I Love him unconditionally. Over all, I did good raising him. The most important character he picked up from me is his HEART.
Then there is my belief in GOD. As so many out there, it was up and down. I mainly called on him when I was hurt or in trouble which was more times than being happy back then. As I have matured and come to a better understanding about who I am as a person, I realized I believed in GOD more than I thought. But even with these horrible trials and memories I still managed to control who I am. My heart is my gold mind. With a few little repercussions here and there, (nothing that can't be over come with patience) but through all my misfortunes, GOD still manged to Love me and put people in my path to love back.
Which leads me to my soul mate Michael. Not just words but deep in my soul, there is a complete oneness. A deep understanding and compassion of the most loving human being I have ever come across from the opposite sex. I never knew someone existed like this. Now we are going to church as a family and motivating each other in ways I never knew was possible. Still getting use to this but I feel complete with dreams and goals for the future.
Thank you GOD for loving me through the good, the bad and the ugly. #lovinggodscreations

What is this world coming to? This weather is bizarre, people are acting crazy and no one can seem to just care about life.

From record-smashing March warmth, including 80s in northern climes, to a startling lack of snow, to in one location, record snow leading to a spring snow melt mess, 2012 so far has thrown a number of curve balls for those looking for a bit of "normalcy."

An April snowstorm in the Northeast!!!! What??? This is nuts. Can anyone explain this? What is really going on?

I'll tell you, it's the revelation. Don't know what that is, it is the revealing.

In this world, there is going to be a lot to reveal. Starting with the people. It is because different environment give different type of people, different type of behavior which we see them improper, to them they think it is normal. Even on the internet, people have gotten terribly hostile and rude. Most have lost sight of life and what's important in it. People are full of greed and materialistic things these days or too wrapped up in themselves.

As far as life in general, why can't we just except the fact that we all have to find our destiny. Live our lives as constructive as possible. Help those that need help. Be considerate to those that can't seem to be polite.

It isn't that difficult to just take a less fortunate a meal because they have no means of taking care of themselves. Show someone there are people out there that are compassionate. Even if it's to prove to yourself that you are capable of being a human being rather than the ones that destroy our planet with hate and corruption.

the world isn't gonna be around much longer. So what are you going to do? Are you gonna continue the madness, or become apart of a better being?

Family and what that really means

Isn't it amazon how family says they have your best interest at heart, when there the main ones destroying your life? Just makes me so aggravated how two faced people can be, including family. I mean really, the "blood is thicker than water" statement basically is just words. No matter where you come from, who you are and how long you been here, everyone knows that loyalty is ONLY true when it's comforted by the ones who truly mean it. Who honestly love. Who respectfully concern there life with yours.

People can say and do a million things, but in reality, actions speak louder then words. It doesn't matter who you are, know your boundaries, evaluate your life and honestly ask if you are making the right choices. Most familiarize them selves with selfishness and tend to acknowledge life as they see it because that's what they were taught, or how they were raised.

People, don't blame the people that guided you in this life rather they did it right or wrong, blame yourself for not breaking the cycle. No matter the damage, corruption, or news feed, build your own boundaries, your own life, your own goals. It's not gonna get handed to you on a silver platter because of the way destiny has made its routes in your life. We have challenges and heart aches for a reason, to build our tolerance, to raise our motivations and most of all, to concur what many feel we wouldn't.

Once you have found your foundation, you can build from it. Don't let others destroy your motivation by bringing you down. You can be your own best-friend.

Are You Ready For The Truth

Many are tired of the same oh life isn't fair syndrome. Come on people, Stop thinking about do's and don'ts and pick yourself up cause in the end, who will? Give yourself more credit than you do. Pat yourself on the back every time you have to wake up in the mornings and head out to work even when you don't feel like it. Congratulate yourself on surviving heart ache. Forgive those that have hurt you and move on. Drink that fresh brew of coffee to hype yourself up for the day to come as it unfolds.

Relax your mind before heading out that door and realize how 
grateful you should be to have a job and how many are without. In this 
economy many are struggling to survive. Unemployment clients are loosing
 more of there earnings than working a regular 9-5pm job. 

Relationships are on the rocks cause they lack communication issues. Appreciate having that special someone next to you instead of being alone. Life shouldn't be at a halt because you can't figure out what to do next.

Constantly be forgiving even if you feel that someone isn't worth it. You can't judge anyone cause at the end of the day, are you perfect?

Why are you so depressed? What is making you think you are cursed
 because you have responsibilities in life? Many make the mistake of 
confusing life challenges with curses. I believe it is a blessing to 
have a job. To work and support yourself as we'll as your family if you 
have been blessed with one. Snap out of the pitty party mode and stand 
up and say "I am a woman/man of responsibility's." In time you will 
receive great blessings from which you deserve for your hard work.

Life is not easy nor is it motivating at times. But love yourself
 enough to breathe steady when life hits you the hardest. Find ways to 
uplift your spirit. Be your best-friend.
