Hey everyone! Hope your summer is going well. I don't know about all of you, but where I live has been having record weather, with temperatures in the 100's and high humidity. yuck! It has been making it almost unbearable to be outside. Although this has just given me the excuse to stay inside and paint my nails. This summer I have come across some new (or at least newer to me) nail art trends, plus my favorite colors for the season. Here is what I think are the summer nail trends!!

Neon polishes have been an ultimate favorite for me this summer. The nail polish collections I'm completely obsessed with are the Orly - Feel The Vibe & China Glaze - Summer Neon Collections. These collections have the best neon colors!! Pastels are also still popular this summer, which collections like Essie's Summer Collection. Ombre & Gradient have become universally popular from ombre hair, ombre clothing, and of course nails! The nail art isn't all that new, but is very popular this summer, especially tribal.

I decided to do my first ever nail art contest! I'm super excited and I hope you all enter! The rules are relatively simple - Paint Your Nails!! lol. Ok... there's a little more to it. For this nail art contest entries must include at least one of the nail trends mentioned. Send the entry to my email pinktattoo.mail@gmail.com and I will confirm your entry. Hey everyone! So I'm really excited to share what I received in my Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox! Unfortunately, I missed out on the Spring one, which had tons of great things in it. BUT! This box was just as exciting!! Just incase you don't know what Influenster is, here's a little recap!

What is an Influenster?

Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread
This yummy bar is made with real bananas and almonds. It contains 5g of Fiber, 20% of your daily value of vitamin B5 and 6g of protein. I wasn't quite sure if I was going to like this bar, because one I'm not a huge fan of granola bars & two I also don't like nuts. As you can tell though, I ate it!! haha! I actually was so hungry I ate it before I could take a pictures, so here is a nice shot of the wrapper. opps, sorry! I have to admit I didn't have high hopes for liking this bar, just because of my own preference. In fact though, I LOVED it! I completely tasted like banana nut bread! I kid you not! I could not believe how fresh the banana taste was. I would definitely check out this bar! It retails around $3.29 for a package of 5 bars and is sold at most major retailers.

Sally Hansen Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme

This hand lotion is made with shea butter, which helps to soften hands, smooth cuticles and condition nails. It claims to have an active moisture complex formula with Cermaides that help lock in nutrients so hands maintain their ideal moisture level. It even claims to offer 24 hour moisture and last through hand washings!! With my love for doing nails and my career in the health care field (frequent hand washing - dries out hands), this hand lotion is a favorite!! The lotion is a very nice consistency, which I enjoy because shea butter can sometimes be too thick. The lotion has a very pleasant scent, may like an orange/dreamsicle smell! The full size of this product is $5.99 and can be found in most drug stores and mass merchandisers such as Target or Walmart.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color

Super new and a hot nail trend right now! This polish allows you to create a gorgeous 3-D nail art effect in just seconds! It is so easy to use! Once the a thick layer of nail polish is applied the cap to the nail polish bottle which contains the magnet is held over the nail. After just 10 seconds you get the really cool effect seen above! I had been wanting to try this out for awhile now and am so glad I got my hands on it! I would totally recommend to nail polish! I would be extremely fun for younger children, under supervision of course! This polish is a little more pricey being around $9.99, but in my opinion TOTALLY worth it!

Tampax and Always have come together to premeire the all-new, stylish Radiant Collection, a complete offering of premium tampons, pads, liners, and wipes that meet all of a woman's feminine care needs. I could not believe the cute little "clutch" all the products come in. I plan to just through the whole thing in my purse, because no one would ever know! I think this would be a great starter kit for a girl, especially with the clutch. Everything about this collection is cute and it makes that time of the month a little more bearable!!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30

This sunscreen contains ultra-luxurious hydration silk ribbons, which help to nourish and pamper skin while providing broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. I was very impressed by this sunscreen. I normally hate the smell of sunscreen, but this lotion has a very light coconut smell that is very pleasant. I really like the feel of the lotion and is perfect for this outrageously hot summer everyone is having!! This retails for $8.99 and is available in SPF 12, 30, and 50.

Hey Loves! OMGosh has it been awhile! I have a two weeks left of school and then I'm all yours. Well... kinda... studying for the NCLEX may consume some of my life after school. Hopefully, not too much! haha. It's been forever since I've done a mani for Pink Wednesday so I thought it would be a perfect break from all my studies to do a gradient/ombre pink mani! I'm actually quite impressed by how it turned out. Unfortunately, my camera is being a little stubborn and it's hard to see the ombre effect but, it's there!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush + Bronzer

Like Blush & Bronzer? The minute I saw these blushes advertised I had to know why they were "bouncy". Well it's the formula actually. It's this amazing mixture between being a cream and powder blush. I'm quite the fan of these (if you can't tell)! I had the hardest time choosing what color I liked the best, so I just bought them all! Walgreen's was (and maybe still is) having a sale of all Maybelline cosmetics buy one get one 50% off + the cosmetic counter had a dollar off coupon + my own coupons. I kind of felt like an extreme couponer, but it was so worth it! The formula of these products are creamy and very buildable. I found it very easy to build the color and make it more pigmented. Unfortunately, my camera was a ms. sassy and didn't photography the swatches as amazing as they really are. So just imagine the swatches 10x more pigmented and bright!

Now the bronzers!! No summer is complete without an amazing bronzer! I believe these are new and I only found them on a select Walgreens. I love both colors. These bronzer are extremely shimmery and fun. Since they are made of the same creamy formula as the blush, they are super easy to apply and blend, which avoids any hard lines. No one wants to look like a bad bronzed Snooki and these beautiful bronzers will definitely prevent that! I really like the Sun Glow, but I'm also into combining the two to create an amazing bronze look!

Do you having any of the Dream Bouncy Blushes or Bronzers? Which is your favorite? My top three are Coral Candy, Fresh Pink and Coffee Cake. Glitter Tips for an All Black Mani

Hello! Happy Wednesday!! I'm a little bit sad that I haven't participated in Pink Wednesday in a long time. Usually, school has kept me too busy. Especially with Wednesday exams, my poor nails have been neglected. Today I have another excuse for the lack of pink, because I had my Nursing School Senior group picture today. The dress code was a black shirt and dark jeans, thus the black mani. I have to ask you all this because I'm not sure if I'm a little OCD or whatever, but I HATE dark clothes with dark jeans!!! If I wear a black shirt I go towards lighter wash jeans and the opposite with a white shirt I then will pick darker jeans. To solve my issue I wore a white cami to break it up and give some contrast. Am I crazy or do you all feel the same way?! Comment below!

Here are the flats I wore with my all dark attire! These are one of my favorite flats. I purchased them in the fall from Charming Charlie. I absolutely LOVE that store, it's like an accessory wonderland and everything is divided up by color.

This picture makes my feet look crazy awkward, like my feet are opposite. yikes!

Hey all! So I finally got around to testing my Kiss Nail Dress from my Influenster Love Vox Box. As you may know from some of my other nail posts, I love creating my own nail designs. Don't get me wrong I love the idea of these, I just feel like I'm doing myself an injustice. Well that was before! After seeing how easy these were to apply I may have just changed my mind.

My Review
I saw some reviews that made it look super challenging and impossible to apply these, which made me completely freaked out. I hate to say it, but I don't know what was happening for those people. If you've ever placed a sticker on something, well your pretty much set! I made sure my nails were completely clean before applying with a little nail polish remover. I placed the Nail Dress right under my cuticle and smoothed out the edges. The Nail Dress are relatively long and since my nails are pretty short right now, I cut off some excess after applying. Then I folded over the remaining excess and with the supplied nail file, I filed of the remaining Nail Dress. I really can't believe how easy it was to apply and how much it looks like polish. There are varying shapes so it was super easy to find a sticker that matched the size of my nail. They've held up really well, and best part no chipping!! I think these are great. I can't wait to be a little more creative and cut some of them and create different nail designs. I also really want the one with rhinestones!!

Urban Decay: Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I've been absolutely dying to try Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion Primers. They were on HauteLook one day and I decided to quickly grab them all. So what is primer? Why use primer? Primer helps eyeshadow last longer and helps prevent those nasty creases that occur after long eyeshadow use. Urban Decay is known for these potion primers and they currently come in four different variations: Sin, Original, Greed, and Eden.

These eye shadow primers help to prep, brighten, and provide all-day wear. They can also be used as primers, highlighters, or eye shadows on their own.

Sin: Sin is a shimmery champagne color, which I absolutely adore.
Original: The original formula is a sheer nude and meant to completely disappear when blended to provide the purist primer.
Greed: Greed is a gold shimmery color and would definitely make the eye pop.
Eden: Eden is a matte primer and is also suppose to be nude when blended in.

All four of these primers are amazing to have. Sin and Greed are great for when I wear shimmery eye shadows to add to the shadows effect. They have great stay power and have lasted all day without any creasing for me. My only complaint is I bought the old version of the primers, in that their packaging requires you to break open and depot the primer because it is very difficult to get it all out. If you are thinking about purchasing one of Urban Decay's primers I'd recommend purchasing the new squeeze tubes to avoid this hassle. Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Primers? Truvia Natural Sweetener

Truvia is a natural sweetener that is refreshingly uncomplicated, made from the best tasting part of the Stevia plant. I'm not much for adding sugar in general to things, but if I'm looking for a zero-calorie sweetener this would be the one. Artificial sweeteners are not really good for the body, so if I were to be looking for a zero-calorie sweetener I would pick Truvia because it's natural. Truvia can be found in most major retailers and has a suggested retail of $3.99.

Hey Ladies!!! I have an amazing product to tell you about today, Billion Dollar Brows. If you're one of the unfortunate one with less than perfect eyebrows you know exactly how I feel. I first got my eyebrows waxed in middle school and after that decided to maintain the shape through tweezing/plucking. In theory this was a good idea, although, I became almost OCD in the fact that almost every morning or evening I spent forever in front of the mirror over plucking my eyebrows. It came to the point my eyebrows were getting too thin because I obsessed over plucking every baby hair, which led to plucking too much of one eyebrow and then having to match it to the other eyebrow. It was a horrible cycle to say the least! I have met many like me, so if you do something similar you are not alone!! After I realized thin eyebrows were "out" I needed help. I had many attempts to allow my eyebrow to regrow and of coarse go wild... yuck and then go to the salon and have someone reshape them. Although, every time I came out of the salon disappointed. I went to multiple salons and had multiple people wax my eyebrows, but I was never happy. I was so jealous of the woman with beautiful full eyebrows that had perfect arcs.

I recently made a new decision to again try to regrow my eyebrow, but this time go to a professional salon specialized only in eyebrows. At first I was excited, but this slowly faded as I thought this may not be the answer either. The problem was me, MY eyebrows! My eyebrows are just too thin, and with all the waxing and over plucking the hair is growing back sporadically and for some strange reason is not growing directly under my eyebrow line. I attribute this to the waxing line, but have no idea why this would have occurred. I also realized I don't have an arc! My eyebrows look very straight, and I felt there was no hope to ever having a beautiful arc.

If you are in this situation you know exactly how I feel. Eyebrows seem like just a minor body feature, but they have so much impact on the face. They make makeup look more dramatic, draw more attention to the eyes, and give a person a distinct look. So I've really felt like I'm missing out. But.... My Opinion:

My Opinion:

Where was this a few years ago. For one of my high school senior pictures I had changed outfits, which must have bumped my eyebrows causing the hair to go out of place. Uggh! I still look at that picture with dread. The application is super easy, just like putting on mascara, just brush your brows. This product would be great for anyone. We use primer and finishing powders and sprays for our makeup, well why are we forgetting our eyebrows?!

My Opinion:
This eyebrow pencil is amazing. When I had wanted more dramatic, arched eyebrows my stylist provided me with an eyebrow pencil. The eyebrow pencil I received from the salon was horrible. I have very light colored brows, due to my blonde hair. Even with the salon's lightest pencil it didn't match and looked completely drawn on... icky!! I was soooo amazed that the Universal Eyebrow Pencil worked for me! The pencil consistency is very creamy, which makes it very easy to apply light or darker depending on skin tones and hair color. I also love that the pencil is retractable, so no worries about it ever breaking. The spoolie brush is also perfect to help lighten up the color and make sure it is blended properly. I seriously can't find anything wrong with this pencil. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are nervous with picking out the correct color. This pencil prevents all guessing when it comes to finding the right eyebrow pencil for you!

Forever 21 Jewelry Haul

I thought I would share my recent Forever 21 jewelry haul. I picked up a few rings, necklaces, a bracelet and earrings. Jewelry can really add a little "something" to any outfit. I really love longer necklaces. I also love wings, so when I saw the black wing necklace I had to grab it!

Hello everyone! So today I finally (actually it was very fast shipping, but I just was so excited) received my Alisa Michelle cuffs in the mail today. Alisa Michelle has become my favorite line of jewelry currently. She takes melted down coins and hand stamps sentiments on them. The cuffs I purchased were on HauteLook a few weeks ago and sold out super fast. I was so disappointed I missed it, but I found Alisa Michelle on Facebook and she was continuing the amazing price HauteLook had on her website. I thought this was so amazing of her and I quickly jumped at the chance and purchased both cuffs. I thought I purchased one gold and one silver, unfortunately, I purchased both gold. I was thinking about exchanging one for silver, but the gold is absolutely beautiful in color I'm deciding to stick with gold for both. So below is the packaging the cuffs came in.

The cuffs are sturdy, but flexible enough to bend around the wrist. I absolutely love the saying on them. They will be great as a "pick-me-up" if I'm ever having a bad day. I like the cuffs because I can visually see them better than a necklace. The cuffs cost $110 (each), but I got the discount that made them $29.99 (each). Alisa Michelle jewelry has been worn by many celebrities such as, Hilary Duff, Halle Berry, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Taylor Swift and Faith Hill. I was actually just getting rid of some old magazines and I came across Alicia Keys wearing a Alisa Michelle necklace. I love everything about her jewelry from the look of it, to the sayings and words stamped on them. I already asked for the necklace below for a graduation gift. After graduation from nursing school, I'm so nervous to take the NCLEX (the boards to become a registered nurse). I figured if I had this necklace to wear it would be a simple reminder that "I can do this".

MAC Studio Fix Foundation

One of the most basic, fundamental, and also in my case necessary makeup items is foundation. Flawless looking skin is something all women try to achieve. I finally decided it was time to update my foundation routine and upgrade to a foundation other than the ones I find at the drugstore. The MAC Studio Fix Fluid is perfect for me. Maybe its because of past teenage skin insecurities or just personal preference, I really like a full coverage foundation. The Studio Fix Fluid is just that! This foundation provides a "natural matte finish and medium-buildable coverage", just like I like. The matte finish is amazing. My skin looks like it has been airbrushed and is shine free, maybe because it also absorbs and disperses oil. Awesome, right? I don't know how many other foundations seem to absorb into my skin throughout the day, causing my face to look like a hot mess by the end of the day. Well, this product sure doesn't do that. Just add a little setting powder and you're good to go. MAC claims the foundation "contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections". This is like music to my ears. I really don't have any major imperfections, but its good to know that if a pimple suddenly appears, I have this tool in my bag. I have some colored spots and freckles from sun exposure, and this product is great for making my skin looking completely even. This foundation also contains protection from UVA/UVB with a SPF of 15. This is a key element for me. I never leave the house without a moisturizer that contains a SPF and now my foundation also contains it too. This foundation is also oil-free so it won't clog your pores!

As you can see this is the perfect match for my skin. This is the first time I have ever come across a foundation so close to my natural skin tone. I was so happy the girl at the MAC store helped me find this, which is such a plus that there is always experts there to help. I've been applying this foundation with a foundation brush. I may also try some other methods to see if those work better or not. Just thought I'd let you all in on my new favorite foundation. I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I'm almost sick of pink, almost. I kinda feel guilty saying that. I hope someone else feels like this, so I don't have that statement riding on my conscience. Anyways, I thought a light pink with gray poka dots would be perfect for Pink Wednesday. Don't get me wrong pink is my favorite color, it just may mean I have a new nail design in the works that doesn't include pink.

Today's mani is dedicated to all my Single Ladies or those that absolutely despise Valentine's Day. It my Anti-Valentine's Day mani, with the broken heart in the middle. For those of you who don't have that special someone in your life right now, no worries I'm gonna tell you how to enjoy your Valentine's Day anyways.
