Down in Jamaica they got lots of ... goats, no seriously ... it's sad, they are hit by the cars and buses all the time. While they are raised for food, road kill is not the intention. When this does happen however, and the animal needs to be attended to .... well, I would like to say curried goat is really good. Waste not, want not. It all so works really well on that person on the bus next to you that snores .... Always Go Classy!

Sometime there is just that meal that you can't forget. Well, I had several of those meals at Hedonism II while I sat in the water on the Nude Beach! There is a young man who walks the Beach with a Lobster in one hand and a Crab in the other .... ALIVE!

He calls himself the Fire Mon ..... he should call himself CHEF Fire Mon.

After a little negotiating on the price he disappeared to cook my meal. Upon his return, I paid him the negotiated price and sat at my little table that I had placed in the water and dived into one of the best meals I have ever had in Jamaica. Peeling back the aluminum foil I exposed Crab that had been cooked in Coconut milk with garlic and spices, Garlic Bread and a Lobster that was perfectly done. OMG my mouth is watering now.

I highly recommend that if you see Fire Mon ..... ORDER! You will not be disappointed!

Two Hotels in Jamaica to Reopen - former Grand Lido Braco and Hedonism III

But no news on if they will have clothing optional areas.

The National Insurance Fund-owned Rio Bueno Resort, previously operated by SuperClubs as Grand Lido Braco Resort, and up to April 2011 as Breezes Rio Bueno. The hotel is to reopen under new management in the coming weeks. - File

SOME 900 jobs will become available within the next few weeks, as two hotels, one in Trelawny and the other in St Ann, which have been closed, are set to reopen.

The former Grand Lido Braco in Trelawny and the former Super Fun Resort in Runaway Bay, St Ann, will be reopening following last week's signing of lease agreements between the Government and two tourism entities.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett in making the announcement said, "The 226-room Grand Lido Braco has been leased by Sun Wing Limited and will be operated by Blue Diamond Resorts Limited, while the 226-room Super Fun Resort will now be under the management of Royal DeCameron which currently has two other properties - one in Montego Bay and the other in the Runaway Bay area."

"The reopening of these properties comes at the start of the 2011/2012 winter tourist season and will result in some 900 jobs being made available. We signed the management contracts for the companies to take over the reins of the resorts and I am looking forward to the reopening."

Winter season boost

Bartlett said the reopening of the resorts, which will bring back some 550 rooms into operation, could not come at a better time, as Jamaica is expected to welcome approximately 1.3 million visitors during this winter season.

He said the new operators of the resorts have given their commitment that their engagement with these hotels are long-term.

The Grand Lido Braco Resort and the Super Fun Resort were closed earlier this year, at the end of a management contract with the Super Clubs Group.

N Resort has blossomed since our last visit in December. Plants and shrubbery have matured and the beach has more sand; yet some things remained constant - quality meals and outstanding, friendly service. This is not a resort for the all-night party crowd or the “drink ‘til you drop” bunch. This is a nude resort with a nice beach, a big pool with a water-slide, all staffed by people who really care. Located about 30 minutes from the Montego Bay Sangster Airport, this is a place for couples - a place to sit by the pool with your partner, a good book, and a Red Stripe. This is the place for a long walk up the beach - there is nothing for two or three miles. This is a place for an unrushed meal, either with friends or just together.

The rooms are located along the ocean east of the port city of Falmouth. You can see the large cruise ships as they dock there for a day with their masses, but not have to fight the mob. Each of the ten buildings is made of knotty pine, and the rooms are large and have everything you need. The large king-sized bed is surmounted by a mosquito net (which was not needed),

and a small fridge, phone, desk, day-bed, TV, and safe are included. There is WIFI in all rooms (AND IT'S FREE), but if you didn’t bring your computer, you can use the one near the main desk. The oceanfront rooms are really ocean-front!

Your balcony comes with either two chairs and a table or a daybed and a table and is almost in the water. The ocean-view rooms are a little further back, but have real ocean views. The garden view rooms are currently not in use. The rooms are rustic looking but quite comfortable, but, frankly, I was in our room only at night and during one afternoon thunderstorm.

The meals were delicious. The cuisine was a mix of American and Jamaican dishes. My favorite was probably breakfast with a large selection of goodies, including custom made omelets. Lunch was a choice - eat at the pool bar or the main dining room.

Both were good choices. The evening menu varied from day to day. At least three to six main entrees, including vegetarian, were offered. One night was a beach night with a fire-eater as entertainment followed by dancing on the beach. Every night was different. The Italian restaurant was open two nights, along with the main dining room. The Italian is the Jamaican version of Italian adapting some of the local vegetables and spices. People are requested to dress for the main dining room, as required by Jamaican law. What is considered “dressed” is open to your interpretation - pareos and loincloths were in vogue, although in the evening, sport shirts, shorts and sundresses were seen.

We were at the resort during Halloween. The decorations, meals, and entertainment were outstanding. A number of “deceased” performers were starred, including the late Michael Jackson who arrived with glove, in a custom fitted casket. The guests joined in with costumes, and a lucky couple received three free nights. “Pirate’s night” also saw many guests in costumes of one sort or another. Some participated, others didn’t, but everyone had a good meal.

The greatest obstacle to overcome was “sand gravity” - the tendency to park on the beach or by the pool and luxuriate.

For those interested, there are two tennis courts, with a resident tennis pro, water aerobics, water volleyball, and a water-slide competition, along with other poolside
games. A glass-bottom boat was available most mornings, weather permitting, and a snorkeling trip was scheduled. A Jamaican cooking demonstration was done one day by Chef Jeffrey Martin, winner of the “Best inJamaica” competition in 2008.

For those desiring pampering, spa treatments, massages, and hair styling are available at a reasonable rate.

While we were there, there were about sixty guests present. This provided a nice number to support activities. The one thing that really impressed me was the quality of service. The entire staff was dedicated to make our vacation the best.

Another cute idea for a theme night is there Naughty School Girls & Boys. There were Naughty Professors, Cheerleader, Private School Girls .... There was even a Flashing Priest with a very large .... plastic props are great ;) Fun was had by all.

A Simple Theme night for those of us who are not as creative as others.

Just wear a simple Team Shirt from any sport. It all works.

I said I was going to put up a day by day report of all the activities and events at Hedonism II ..... well, equipment problems have put a damper on that plan. My patch cord for my camera failed ...ggggrrrrr. Tomorrow I leave this beautiful island and Hedonism II. Once home laying on my desk is another patch cord. Well, October 28 had me sitting in the lobby greeting another 50+ guests to Hedonism II Hedoween Spooktacular. Everyone loves the H2 Bumper Stickers and having lots of fun with Bart's Funny Money.
It fun watching people strolling by in Hedonism II Anniversary Memorabilia from years past. I have my 6th Anniversary Madonna T-Shirt and my 10th anniversary Black Robe. People are even wearing Go Classy Tours Memorabilia T-Shirts.

Friday Nights Theme is now Rock Stars
and the Main Coarse was LOBSTER

Yes,I forgot to take pictures of the Yummy Lobster Tails ....
I was to busy eating.

The Entertainment Staff did a wonderful combination of music starting from about the Sixties. Some people dressed as actual Groups or Singers, others just dressed like a Rock Star would. Other wore there favorite Rock Star T-Shirt.
It was a fun and entertaining evening.

Off to the piano bar, and yet again I didn't make it to the Disco ....

So, I would have like to have told you that I went out to the beach or laid by the pool and basked in the warm Caribbean Sun as the Cool Tropical Breeze caressed my body ..... NOT!

Actually, I sat at the entrance of the dinning room welcoming arriving Go Classy Guests to Hedonism II with T-shirts, fans, bumper stickers and personalized lanyards. Hey, I'm not taking back home 6 suitcases. It was awesome seeing old friends again and putting names to faces of new ones.

By the time I was done with all of that, it was late in the afternoon and one of those cooling afternoon showers moved in to make everything green and refreshed .... NAP Time :)

Good to go for the rest of the evening .... I thought.

Theme Night on Thursdays

Black and White Night

What a great idea, everyone has something that is either Black or White. While probably 30% of the people dressed Black or White, I was disappointed that more people didn't participate. I think this is something that will catch on as more people hear about it and come up with creative attire. This could turn in to a fantastically fun evening like Toga use to be.

The evening was also Talent Night. What a surprise one guest got up on stage and sang a love song to his girlfriend as she videoed his performance. At the end, she was invited up on stage herself where her then boyfriend, now fiancé proposed to her. What a story she will have to tell back in England.

Off to the Piano Bar ..... and then to bed ..... didn't make the Disco again. ...... Maybe tomorrow night.

Arriving in Montego Bay

Upon landing at Montego Bay Airport I proceeded through Immigrations and sneaked by Customs with 6 CHECKED Bags and 2 Tag Alongs

(FYI extra bags on International Travel Delta charges $125.00 per bag)

But, I had …… 220 T-Shirts, Fans, Lanyards, Name Tags, Bumper Stickers and the Kitchen Sink.

Well ok, I did leave the kitchen sink at home.

Arriving at Hedonism II

The trip from Montego Bay to Hedonism was uneventful. I think, I slept most of the way. Upon arrival it was a BIG Homecoming of hugs and smiles. Speedy checkin and I was off to my room on the Nude Beach room 2126. Great room ground floor, Ocean Front, air conditioning is working great and the WiFi signal is strong, even if the connection is slow. But hey IT WORKS …. That’s why you are reading this ;)

While the food was tasteful it was not something you would write home to Mother about. Carved Turkey, Corn Beef, Fish, Chicken were the main meats as well as the Pasta Station. The Salad Table was well, lacking …. the Lettuce. Only shredded Cabbage and all the additional items that would normally be found on a Salad Bar.

Wednesday Theme Night is now FETISH FANTASY

Dominatrix, Master, Sub, Leather, Lace & Latex

Of the Guests at the resort about 20% were dressed in Theme Attire. The ‘Fetish Fantasy’ Costume Contest if you win sport a Bottle of Appleton Rum as the 1^stPrize with points being given to the Runner Up. Points can be redeemed for other items if you acquire enough points during the week.

‘Fetish Fantasy’ Showcase was entertaining while some of the show was OK, with the real highlights being Winston in Drag (he makes a Beautiful Woman – so jealous ;)

There is a act that is similar to the scene in Dirty Dancing with the water bucket only behind a white curtain backlit by a bright light.

It was very entertaining and very tasteful done. It was my personnel favorite of all the acts. As the evening winded down people slowly made their way to the Piano Bar for a Sing Along.

How lucky was I, Mega who used to perform at Hedonism II and a Young Woman by the name of Stephanie (who now must be one of the Hot Singers on the Island) were there and added much to the evening music. Mega singing "Leave Your Hat" On was outstanding and then. A GUEST sang an AWESOME version of "Give Me Fever"! OMG she should sing professionally.

Black and Nude at 'Hedo'

The 2011 Miss Black Nude Pageant takes place September 29-October 2 at the Hedonism II resort in Negril. It will be the 15th time the contest will be staged in Jamaica.

Delores Dickson, who started the contest in 1992, told The Gleaner that there are 12 contestants this year. She said it has grown in stature since its initial start as a pageant for mainly exotic dancers.

"It has a very diverse audience, everyone from doctors, lawyers to blue-collar workers," Dickson said. "The audience is primarily black but whites, hispanics and other ethnicities follow the contest."

The Miss Black Nude Pageant and Hedonism II gained strong exposure after it was shown several times on the HBO adult programme, 'Real Sex'. Veteran Jamaican marketing executive, Dave Rodney, is consultant for the contest.

He agrees that it has caught on, especially in urban centres in the United States.

"I get the information out to American urban audiences via print, radio and social media. I target mainstream and multicultural audiences who are likely to be interested in Jamaica and in attending the event," Rodney explained.

Prizes range from jewellery to vacation packages and invitations to social events. The 2010 contest was won by Sharminter 'Twinkles' Mintz from Washington DC.

Go Classy has been notified by SuperClubs that Breezes Bahamas has suffered damage from Hurricane Irene the following is an excert:

Due to the passage of Hurricane Irene over the Bahamas yesterday, Breezes Bahamas has suffered some damage and will therefore not be accepting any new arrivals.

As the damage is primarily roof damage, it will take some time to properly assess same and effect necessary repairs. We would not be able to adequately deliver the Super-Inclusive product and service to our mutual clients during the time of repairs, and in that regard we will begin to accept arrivals again as of November 1, 2011.

1) For guests scheduled to arrive between now and September 1^st we will do our best to re-accommodate them in another resort in Nassau.

Carol his loving wife sent this statement:

To all my family and friends:

It is with a heavy heart that I must share that my Ed passed away at 7:45 a.m. yesterday. He only had one day of pain and I feel blessed that he went in such a peaceful manner. He will be missed by all for sure but Leo and Nana will be happy to see him!

A long time client and dear friend to A.J. and Gennie and part of the original Hedonism II Halloween Group. Gennie recounted all the fun times and wonderful themed parties that Ed and Carol used to throw. One of her most wonderful memories was when the original group got together and threw her and AJ a 50th Anniversary Party. Anyone that knew both Ed and AJ know they are hamming it up together right now and probably looking for the best spot on the beach ;)

The Memorial was a typical Ed & Carol party with about 100+ friends, co-workers, relatives, etc. Gennie was unable to attend, but a lot of the old gang was there, Ray & Pat, Ray & Lorraine, Rich & Peg, Don & Cookie, Eve, and abunch of other familiar faces.

The Staff of Go Classy will truly miss such a wonderful,

fun loving man.

Hurricane Irene cannot stop the Hedonism II alumni from the 14^th Reunion Party!! Hundreds knowing that the hurricane was just days away made the trip to be with friends and have fun on the beach. Folks came as far away as Florida, Texas, Oregon, and Montana. Amazingly the weather could not have been better Friday.
It was bright, sunny and very hot which made the ocean very welcoming to cool off.

Go Classy Tours, Chief Operating Officer attended the event (the lucky one…) and gave out fans, stickers, and $20.00 redeemable cards for future travel.
Many people on the beach came up and asked what was all the partying about and could they join in on the fun. Of course, the Hedonism II alumni welcomed them with open arms and introduce them to the proper ways to party. Folks brought salads, fresh fruit, cookies, shrimp, all kinds of snacks and of course the food had to be accompanied by inventive cocktails. Games were held with the most unique ice carvings and everyone were holding their sides from laughing so much. Later that night Hedonism II alumni attended a free concert at the Fairbanks Beach Resort and Inn.

The band members were all Hedonism II alumni and they sure could put on a performance.
Then Governor Christie of New Jersey said that the hurricane was approaching and a Mandatory evacuation of the entire New Jersey coast would go into effect at 4:00pm Saturday. Too make things even more difficult for everyone to leave Mayor Bloomberg of New York City closed all public transportation at 12:00 noon Saturday.

But, word has it that the party will go on at Hedonism II and the reunion will be held same time, same place, next year. See you there!!!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that have already been effected and those that are still in the path of this storm.
