I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived today. I decided on this model specifically because I could get a great deal on shipping via Amazon prime. But I wanted to answer a couple of questions that I had before buying the item that I didn't really see answered anywhere else. Hopefully this helps some people.

-This unit is great for singles or possibly even couples. I am single but love to cook, I also work a full time job and am going to school full time, so spending 20-30 minutes (Because I let them overflow) a few times per week doing dishes by hand is just impracticable. I was a little worried about what you can actually fit in it, and I don't know what the heck a place setting is, so here is what I could fit in it in one load: One large Frying pan, One Medium Sauce Pan, A couple large drinking glasses, a "standard" dinner plate (I am guessing 10.5"?), a couple of small plastic containers, and a few cooking utensils. I was able to make these all fit by removing the cutlery basket - I figure that I have enough forks/spoons to save them for the next time. So there is a practical expectation of what you can fit. It seemed to clean all of that stuff very good on the normal setting. If I was having company over I may have to run two separate loads, one for pots & pans and one for plates, bowls, glasses, etc.

- I am fairly impressed with the quality of this unit. I was a little worried that this would be more of a toy or a novelty item, but it really does work great. It works exactly the same way as a full sized dish washer does, just on a smaller scale. The faucet hookup makes it flexible and easy to install. It was very easy, it took me about 5-10 minutes until everything was up and running.

-The size is bigger than I was expecting, I will admit I had assumed that I had plenty of space and didn't measure - Luckily I have about a 1/2 Inch of clearance from under my cabinets and about an inch on every other side - It was a really tight fit, you should not be stupid like me and measure before purchasing.

-The unit is pretty loud, pretty comparable with a standard dish washer, I would guess that they have less room for sound dampening with the smaller size. It doesn't bother me but it is something to keep in mind for small apartments if you have sensitive neighbors.

Just some other tid-bits:
-Unlike some models I looked at, this unit has a drain pump instead of draining via gravity, so in theory you might be able to put this at a lower level than your sink, like under your cabinets. I haven't tried that, but the drain water does come out with substantial pressure.

-It comes with the quick connect faucet connector for hooking your drain/input hoses all together. It also has a separate drain hose for permanent installation, the manual says that you will have to supply your own input hose though for permanent installation.

-This unit uses a "dumping" method for the detergent. You put the detergent in an indent on the door and it dumps it when you close it. So there is no sort of "Pre Rinse" or anything.

-It seems to handle pausing the cycle pretty good. Even pausing the unit in the middle of draining doesn't phase it at all. Nice for me because I frequently forget to put things in until the wash cycle is halfway done.

-It does have a spot on the door for putting Rinse Agents in (Like Jet Dry, etc), which should help with drying. A nice addition!

-Speaking of drying, the unit doesn't seem to have any sort of air or steam drying or anything. It just sits for 15-20 minutes after the rinse cycle and waits for the water to evaporate to dry the dishes. Works great for glasses, plates, pans, etc. Not so great for plastic, which doesn't retain heat as good, but this seems like the case with a lot of dish washers, I can deal with it.

-The unit claims to use a max of 1280 watts (1200 for the heating element), and 2.5 Gallons of water per cycle. The Normal Cycle lasts 90 minutes, and the Heavy cycle lasts about 120 Minutes, Light is around 40 minutes.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the unit, and the awesome deal on Amazon prime shipping. I also purchased the 3 Year Squaretrade warranty just in case. I have no worries that I will need it, but I have heard that these portable units in general are prone to leaking. Again, I am not concerned about THIS particular model, but the additional warranty was just about $20 or so and I have heard great things about Squaretrade. I would definitely recommend this to any singles/couples stuck in an apartment without a dishwasher, and sick of tired of doing them by hand.

I will update this review if anything changes.
3 Week Update
I am STILL very pleased with the unit, it has saved me so much time. It is definitely holding up fine, and once you learn how to pack things in there you can easily fit MORE than I had posted in the original review. I am also impressed as you are able to fit full sized cookie sheets and pizza pans in it (Just put them on the very top).

After using it for about a month, I would recommend as a tip that you use the Gel detergents over the powdered detergents, as I have noticed that sometimes the powdered detergent can leave residue on the dried dishes. It just seems like the gel detergent mixes better.

Other than that, I still recommend this. Of course I will update it if anything else happens.

I bought this crock-pot specifically for traveling, and I bought a "crock pot travel bag" to go with it. The first time traveling, my soup spilled everywhere (even though we carried it upright). The lock kept the meat and veggies in, but I had a huge mess to clean up when I got to work, and I lost a good inch of liquid as a result. I will be more careful next time and pack it in the car on the floor with towels, but the entire reason I bought a locking-lid crock pot was so I wouldn't have to go to all that bother.

It is very handsome, though, and cooks nicely.

EDIT -- Later today, I was taking the crock pot home. The food inside was warm, but not hot. It had been on the "warm" setting for hours and was turned off completely for 15 minutes before being packed up. I locked the lid, and 15 minutes later in the car *pop* the lid shattered.

Very, very dissapointing.

I am extremely pleased with this product. I had a 1.5 cup chopper that worked ok for very small amounts of food, but things like a large bell pepper, cut into finger sized pieces, would get tangled up and not cycle through the blades. This 3 cup chopped fits a lot more stuff in it's bowl, and so far, has worked perfectly for me. It is much easier to clean than a full sized food processor, and takes up a lot less space. Ideal for making small batches of guacamole, salsa, soup, stir fry, ect. It's noisier than my full sized food processor, but quieter than the cheapp 1.5 cup chopper I bought.

I received this as a gift to replace my well used West Bend skillet, which kept me going for about 6 years. What had drawn me to the Oster was that it had a tempered glass lid that you could remove or leave hinged and ready to cover your item when needed.

So far I have made pancakes and scrambled eggs in my new skillet and I love it! The non-stick coating allowed items to come off the pan easily and it was a breeze to clean. I also love the glass lid, so I can see the food without having to lift the lid. On the warm setting I was able to keep the eggs ready to eat and warm when breakfast was slightly delayed. There are no vent holes, but this was not a huge deal to me.

If you would like a good, all-around electric skilletthis one is a good price of good quality.

I would definitely recommend.

I saw this steamer in an ad in Runner's World and just had to have it. Since going on the South Beach Diet, I've upped my intake of eggs, fish, chicken, and vegetables tremendously. And because I live an extremely active lifestyle, I never have time to wait for things to thaw before cooking. I was defrosting frozen meat and nuking scrambled eggs and frozen vegetables in the microwave everyday when I did some reading and found out that microwaving destroys over 90% of the healthy vitamins and nutrients in foods. Researchers have found that steaming is the best way to preserve nutrients if you have to cook a food.This steamer gets the job done better than I'd ever hoped. While it does take a little longer to cook with steam than in the microwave or on the stovetop (add 5-15 minutes of cook time), it is a more hassle-free way to prepare food. You don't have to constantly check your food to see if its burning or stir it. No more exploding eggs in the microwave or rice stuck to the bottom of the pan. Just load it up, set the timer, and leave it to cook. For example, I stuck a couple of frozen chicken breasts and a cup of brown rice in, set for 45 minutes, and left to do something else. Halfway through I poured in frozen vegetables and seasoned the chicken and rice. The chicken cooked through perfectly, the vegetables were tender, and the rice was perfect. Hard boiled eggs are easy too.
Clean up afterwards was a breeze. The plastic containers are easy to wash off, but the drip pan fills up quickly and when full is hard to get to the sink to pour out without spilling. Cooking directions and times are approximate, so there is some trial and error involved. But since I love it so far, I will definitely be using it several times a week and get lots of practice. I highly recommend.

I have only had this lovely toaster for a brief time, but I am very pleased. It does everything as advertised and it does it well.

I already have a great Black & Decker toaster-broiler that I continue to use. I consider this item in a different class. They have different strengths.

*First Impressions:
It smells like new plastic and chemicals out of the box. Up close it's easy to see that the pretty shell is made of black plastic, but it's not cheap-looking. After thoroughly wiping down the main unit, running the removable pieces through the dishwasher (top-shelf) and running the toast-cycle a few times, the odors went away. I wasn't sure whether the little measuring cup was going to be much use.

*First Cooking Trials:
I made hard boiled eggs. The eggs weren't boiled so much as steamed in the shell, but that's being picky. The eggs came out perfect on the first try. The little measuring cup was very useful as the amounts of water needed for different yolk-hardness were clearly marked on it. The process was almost idiot-proof.

The eggs went from refrigerator to sandwich in around 10 minutes and cleanup took another minute or so, consisting of rinsing the steamer tray and lid and wiping the heating tray with a damp paper towel.

A poached egg sandwich takes about 5 minutes from fridge to plate. It's a simple matter of placing the food on the appropriate tray (with a good bit of oil for the egg or else it will stick), pressing the right buttons and then coming back when you hear the toast pop up. The tray for heating sausage is more than large enough for a Garden Burger veggie patty if that's what you prefer and if you don't mind it soft and steamed. The toaster-slots can fit a wide range of breads, but perhaps not a thick bagel. The toaster has a clever timer so that toast is done at the same time as the egg.

The black plastic shell on the oven turns out to be an excellent heat-shield.

*Cleaning:
The trays can get messy -- in particular, the heating tray ends up with hard water deposits. Everything is easily cleaned with the exception of the steaming tray used for hard-boiling eggs, which has little bits that protrude to catch a sponge or a paper towel. The trays are made of plastic and are already showing scratches after just a few uses, but it's not noticeable from 3 feet away.

*One Annoying Thing:
If you cook something in the sausage tray, you'll find that its juices will drip down onto your egg and pool on the surface of the egg. Keep a bit of paper towel handy to swab the top of the egg before you remove it from the poaching cup.

*Usefulness:
Quickly hard boil eggs for tomorrow's lunch while you prepare for bed. Have it make your breakfast in the time that it takes you to make your morning cup of coffee. Make the kids a quick after-school snack. Make yourself a quick late-night snack. Any time you're in the mood for eggs and want them quickly. And it also makes toast.

*Summary:
I really like my new toy. It has that cool-gadget-chic that makes it fun to use, the black case looks sweet on a kitchen counter. It's easy to clean. When I ordered it on the advice of a friend, I thought that it was about $10 dollars too expensive, but the expense appears to be the consequence of making a high-quality product.

Given all the concerns about e-coli and mad cow, we decided last year to start grinding our own beef and lamb. This grinder does the job perfectly. We grind right into the short round Ziplock boxes (about a hamburger's worth), which go into the basement freezer, and then we turn out the frozen "hockey pucks" onto a plate to defrost in the microwave, or right into the pot for bolognese sauce or sloppy joes. ("Honey, would you bring me up a couple of hockey pucks for dinner?)Assembly is easy and cleanup is easy (put a slice of bread through after the meat to make it even easier, or grind up an onion if you're making meatloaf anyway). The knife and both plates store inside the screw cap, so I don't worry about losing them (though KitchenAid sells replacements, as does goodmans-dot-net). The grinder even comes with a handy wrench-thingy to help take it apart if it tightens up.
The knife and plates are not stainless (which wouldn't hold an edge), so you do have to dry them off right after washing, but I put everything, including the wooden stomper, right in the dishwasher, and after more than a year nothing has had a problem.
[...] - this isn't an industrial tool! You can't set the mixer speed above three or four when grinding (less if the meat is gristly), and you've got to cut up the meat small enough to fit in the feed tube (the instructions say one-inch cubes, but long strips work too). Treat this right and it will return the favor.
About the only thing that would make this more perfect is a cylindrical brush to clean out the horizontal and vertical shafts, since the dishwasher spray can't really completely reach both, and the horizontal shaft has a screw thread that tends to catch crud (Right now I'm using a folded sponge, and the abovementioned bread slice).

I've used this attachment more times than I ever thought I would. I've used it to prepare food items for my family as well as food items for crowds as large as 200 and regardless of what it is I've been making, this attachment has rolled through it without complaint. In combination with other pieces such as the sausage stuffer or the fruit attachments, you may well find that this single attachment stays on your machine the longest. I am absoultely stunned at how easy it is to put together and how simple it is to get wonderfully ground items out of it. I've had no trouble grinding any cut of meat (marbled or lean), type of meat (venison, beef, pork, chicken), or state of meat (cooked or raw). Things like chickpeas also get ground just the way I like them. The two, differently sized grinding plates give you just what you need in texture. My biggest pleasure in using this attachment is during hunting season when my husband brings home more than one deer. Venison burger meat and sausage processing never went faster. No more late nights with a hand-crank grinder!
When you're done, there's nothing simpler in the cleanup. Nothing seems to stick to the plastic (plus, it's dishwasher safe!) and the metal pieces wash up quickly by hand. Even the little wooden stomper cleans well (and I've felt lost without it when I couldn't find it during sausage making). I think this attachment is the easiest to use of all of the ones I've tried.
I'll never regret the purchase of this attachment.

I work in the food industry, so I'm unfortunately comparing this to its commercial counterparts. If you have small batches of meat to be ground at a time, this grinder is so much better than the crank grinders and gets the job done in a quarter of the time. I still use it, but here's what I don't like about it:

The blade is junk. It doesn't cut the meat at all, and is more prone than ever to getting silver skin and grizzle wrapped around it, forcing you to stop and clean it regularly throughout the proccess. More so than most other grinders.

Stomper: They call this a stomper? Are you serious??? I have the new model that does not come with a wooden stomper, but instead has a plastic contraption that acts both as a wrench and a stomper. It's not solid in design, and is quite smaller than the hole so it tends to pull more meat up when you pull it out than it pushes down to begin with.

Since there is no gasket that comes with this and everything is plastic, the seals aren't real tight, and meat tends to squirt out around the plate quite often. This isn't a real big deal unless you're looking for a specific texture, as for sausage.

Horrible grind. Based on all the other faults with this machine, you'll never reach that beautiful solid grind that you see with commercially ground meat. It's more of a squishy mess, even with the large dye plate.

Good luck stuffing sausage. I spent thirty minutes fighting this machine to get ground meat into the casing with very little luck. I managed one link in that amount of time, gave up, and immediately ordered a Grizzly sausage stuffer (which is absolutely amazing, but that's another review).

I am very happy with the ease of clean up. One of those bristle wands that you use for scrubbing cups works great for getting in the grooves of the attachment as well as in the holes of the grinder plate. Just don't forget to hand dry the metal parts immediately or you'll have rust everywhere. I store all my parts in a zip lock back with some rice to keep them together and dry.

So if you just need something small to make a quick batch of burgers or meatloaf with very little effort, this is a great deal. But if you are trying to make large amounts of sausage of the same quality that you would find in a meat market, you may want to keep looking.
