I am disappointed in Bruce Jenner. Especially after all the shit he gave to Kris Jenner for not being good enough, for not allowing him to be in control... probably he blames her for his not coming out to, well, himself... After all, SHE was in control.

Right? Bullshit. HE was lying to SHIMSELF, therefore, their whole marriage was a lie or a s-ham, so Bruce, sorry but you don’t get the pity vote as far as I am concerned.

And BTW, this has nothing to do with LGBT (am I missing one.. if so, sorry to anyone who was left out of the rainbow!) issues, Hey, I am all about my peeps; but this man went on tv and persecuted her, for all his problems, to the point where he even had his sons feeling sorry for him. Wow, and just a few (single and ready to mingle) months later, Bruce is out and telling the world that HE is really SHE inside while he remains staunch in saying that Kris is such a blah-blah-blah... it was all HER, The Bitch! Well, that part might be true...

It was all about HER. But the way I see it is the Bitch is Bruce, not Kris. Now that Bruce is finally admitting to himself and the rest of the world who S-HE really is, He is ready to hang up his jock strap for a over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder, which is probably stole from Kris, er, at least from her checkbook anyway.

So what are we calling HER these days? Is it Bertha or Berniece, trying to stay close to the root of what his mother gave s-him the day she popped him out with a pecker, as we get ready for the impending day where s-he goes in for the ol' wax n tug, and s-he emerges... a SHE once and for all...

Maybe we should keep it Hollywood style... call her Brenner… That's me Call'n em how I'm see'n it?

I don’t like that the artist painted the infamous Lewinsky blue dress into Bill Clinton's Presidential painting... it’s basically putting his subjective opinion for the whole world to have to choke down. Did he happen to paint a shadow of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Bush's mantel? Or the mountain of debt in the fireplace he left America to deal with? Besides, what Clinton did was personal, not professional, and it certainly did NOT affect the entire world. Seriously?

I wish you would have just kept your political opinions to yourself. This was completely unprofessional. So really, who is the liar? I am here to tell you… they ALL are. But it speaks volumes about your character, and your beliefs. If you are going to do this for one President, who was a great President, that left the country in a surplus while doctoring in many beneficial programs, by the way… then I hope you are not going to be a hypocrite and only paint your honesty like you did for Clinton but for every Presidential painting you do. I mean, come on… Bush flat out lied to this country in order to go to war with Hussein on a completely false premise all for his families personal gain… can you say Oil? Lest not forget to mention that many people (both thousands of American soldiers and Iraqi soldiers and civilians) were killed by Bush’s lie. In the lie meter, my vote says Bush clearly takes the cake!

By the way… Did you do the same for the Bush painting? My guess is no… You don’t have the balls for that. Personally, I think Shanks was a childish for painting the dress on the sly. Have some balls and at least say what you did upfront so we can all be in on the joke! Waiting years afterwards to drop your dirty little secret doesn’t say much for your character professionally or personally; Shanks should be fired from all other future artistic endeavors on professionalism alone. You were paid for a job and you failed. And out of respect for a man who did many good things serving YOUR country, out of respect for his hard work and dedication, you owe it to him to repaint the Clinton portrait, sans the scandal. I can only imagine what the portrait for Obama is going to look like.

Here is what I say… Let’s see your own painting, shadows and all! Matthew 7:2-3: For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

The story for future reference…

The artist who painted the official White House portrait of President Bill Clinton says he quietly included a reference to the Monica Lewinsky scandal — and the infamous blue dress — in his painting.

“If you look at the left-hand side of it, there’s a mantel in the Oval Office,” Nelson Shanks told the Philadelphia Daily News. “I put a shadow coming into the painting, and it does two things. It actually literally represents a shadow from a blue dress I had on a mannequin, that I had there while I was painting it, but not when he was there. It is also a bit of a metaphor in that it represents a shadow on the office he held, or on him.”

The revelation of Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky, a White House intern, created a firestorm in American politics and led to the president’s impeachment in 1998.

The 77-year-old Shanks, who has painted everyone from Princess Diana to Pope John Paul II, said Clinton was the hardest.

“The reality is he’s probably the most famous liar of all time,” Shanks said. “He and his administration did some very good things, of course, but I could never get this Monica thing completely out of my mind, and it is subtly incorporated in the painting.”

The 2001 portrait is part of the National Portrait Gallery’s collection, though Shanks says the 42nd president would like it removed.

“The Clintons hate the portrait,” he continued. “They want it removed from the National Portrait Gallery. They’re putting a lot of pressure on them.”

But a museum spokesperson told ABC News that they have not received any requests from the Clintons to remove the portrait.

The shadow is not the only controversial part of the painting. When the portrait was unveiled in 2006, it caused a minor stir because Shanks left out Clinton's wedding ring.

According to Shanks, Clinton personally chose him to paint his official portrait. And in a 2001 interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Shanks insisted he was taking the assignment seriously.

“There are times when I love to play all kinds of complicated games in painting,” Shanks said. “But I think this is one case when I need to be fairly straightforward. I’ll just try to paint the man, his intelligence, his amiability and his stature, maybe paint him fairly close to humor and try to get it just right.”

Last year, Lewinsky wrote publicly about the affair for the first time.

“It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress,” Lewinsky wrote in an essay for Vanity Fair. “I am determined to have a different ending to my story.

“I, myself, deeply regret what happened between me and President Clinton,” she continued. “Let me say it again: I. Myself. Deeply. Regret. What. Happened.”

SHAME on you Mattel! Do We Need a Plus Size Barbie?

Let me start my rant with this statement… I am all for a plus-size Barbie, in fact, I would welcome it for any girl of any size, I mean we have plus sized models heralding plus size clothing lines worn by beautiful plus-size women everywhere… clothes that guaranty to make a women feel beautiful and sexy, professional, refined, classy, with a hint of MEOW! I don't think that image made the mark at all! It seems like Mattel forced the caricatured extreme onto this beauty of a doll. (who represents a larger percentage of real women, btw) If you are going to do plus-size model, then by George, make her life like!

First I should off by explaining what my issue is… it’s that chin. Honestly I think the doll itself is proportioned nicely. I think she looks beautiful! Maybe the skirt is a tad too short because one bend over or a brisk wind and it would be labeled Indecent Exposure. Yes, the original Barbie also has a shorter skirt but let’s do the math people… the larger Barbie is going to have a much shorter path in finding reach the gold in them their hills… It wasn’t her body proportions that have me peeved… it was that CHIN! Not all women who are heavy have triple chins, let alone double chins, and I have seen plenty of average women who have a little extra padding because of this little thing we have on this planet pushing everything down to our toes.. maybe you have heard of it... it’s called gravity?

Now let me be clear in saying that “I am NOT saying it is bad to make this size of Barbie at all” but WHOA, doesn’t anyone else see that the measurements of her chin are waaaay off? I know a lot of women who sport a bit of a chin and I know women have a chin and a half PLUS…

It’s a friggen’ doll people!! So why wouldn’t you glamourize it up a bit more, you know, how you obviously did for the original Barbie…? That original Barbie which certainly isn't all that life-like in her size -2, which includes her BMI number of 7. So why not go with the same ‘doll enhancements’ for the plus-size doll to emphasis her beauty?

The tone of this doll screams that if you are rather curvy, then you will be sporting pelican-like features that drape from your mouth like you are packing a giant dukie inside of the diaper-ish draping from the bottom of your nose.

Plus, come on folks ... it's a doll - not real. Look at the example we got with the original Barbie. Since you went to the extreme of ultra-skinny size negative -2 that you chiseled out for the original Barbie, it does make sense that the more "extreme image of the plus-size doll’s chin went from supposed-to-be-double/but-went-triple-plus” chin would be right along the lines of your past faux pas... Ask poor Ken. Boys are still crying in their sleep after that CASTRAT-ophy… Who is running the store over there? Do you need some help? Perhaps you need to hire some consultants that live on Main Street for advice- not at the Beverly Hills Chop, Tan, Sculpt, and Botox shop.

Needless to say… I am not happy about this feeble( and thoughtless) attempt at a plus-size Barbie doll. Maybe I just don’t get it! I don’t get why the beauty image for any size woman be such a difficult thing for these corporate white-breds to get right? Then again, what am I expecting really because in reality, in the plus-size scheme of things... every pun intended of course… neither of these Barbie’s are anatomically correct...

So if I am to understand this correctly, is this what a plus-size woman looks like glamourized… says the idiots at Mattel’s corporate round table, along with their staff, marketing team, and probably a few lawyers I would imagine… That is what they came up with?!? WOW! I am surprised you didn’t add a touch of dumpling on the back of her ass just for the reality of it all… which by the way Mattel... cottage cheese thighs affect every woman no matter what size that they are-- Idiots!

My question is this… CEO's… are you THAT OUT OF TOUCH? Like have you not had a real date in a while… ? Or are you that friggen’ rich you bought your arm candy from straight off of the Playboy Mansion lot? If so, you people need serious help.

Go ahead… Ask a woman… ANY WOMAN. She doesn’t even have to be plus size; in fact, for grins and giggles, let’s just go average, make it a size 12/14. NOT size 18 body with a size GINORMOUS chin… and for Pete’s Sake, put a dress on her… a real woman doesn’t need to dress like a Ho-bag needing to get noticed. She will be plenty noticed by the woman she is; and that part of her body has nothing to do with what you created. So do yourselves a favor and take your Barbie back to the drawing board… Do woman all over the world some justice by showing off the beauty that lies within and without each and every one of us… just as we are!

Hold Your Heart Tenderly so You Can Love Those Around You With Tenderness!

Message For a Friend... You are a vessel my friend; you are a receptacle for your feelings. That means that as much anger, disgust, resentment, rage, sadness, sense of betrayal, defeat... etc. you are feeling. YOU are the person that is holding onto these feelings.

I get that you have this stuff happening but unfortunately, the other people in our lives are not capable of understanding what we are feeling.

They may know how history but no one person could possibly fathom the extent of how we feeling, and the filters that it went through, nor the trauma that came in the form of habits and denials that we also experience because of those feelings.

And like unrequited love, no other person could possibly feel anything close to what we are feeling so no matter how MAD you get, how much ANGER boiling through your veins, it is ONLY YOU that has to deal with the fallout of all of that energy.

Others around you will 'experience' their own blueprint of the situation but their experience is no way near anything that yours can be because we are so unique in ALL ways.

Like in unrequited love, that other person may not know us but not how we feel, nor to what extent, but that doesn’t make what WE are feeling within ourselves in any LESS THAN if the person in front of us was our partner for 2 days, two years, or twenty... we still experience our own deeply profound, unique, experience when its good, bad, on the rocks, or sublime… it’s OUR experience, not theirs.

And because of that, I am concerned for YOU. Because you have been talking about your feelings, which A)… is great because I know you and a little of your experience… and is good because you are moving these feelings but I would like to see you try to release them. Forgiveness isn’t really about someone else. It’s all you baby… "I release the part of me that ANGERS me when I think of you… I release the part of me that RAGES in me when I think of you. Get it?" You can insert any word in between to get the jist. It will never change. The only change will be... change. But it can only come from you.

I want to see you healthy and happy and obviously life circumstances are challenging you at home but all this energy is going to take you out, not make her feel ONE IOTA LESS OR DIFFERENT than how they feel because their experience, the good, bad, ugly, betraying part of them is a completely different experience that they have from yours. Everything from their upbringing, filters, past betrayals and other relationships all make up a part of the person who stands before you…

If you both wrote a book, what would each of yours say? Two completely different takes because it comes from two entirely different sources, even if we have lived together for twenty years, those partners are having a very different reality than your understanding of it. So whatever you have to do to release all that toxicity from with you has to be done. You have to make the choices to walk away from the toxicity or it will take you out.

FOR YOUR CHILDREN, you need to be in touch and loving the parts of you that are healthy and happy and sometimes, it takes walking away from the craziness (NO MATTER WHAT AND FOR GOD’S SAKE DON’T LOOK BACK!) for YOU. Which really means for your children who love and adore and desperately you to show them EXACTLY HOW TO WALK THE WALK.

Everything you do, they see. They learn, and then grow into their own experiences that will go like this... either they hate you for what you did and choose to be completely the opposite or they learn the dysfunctional manner that your own story was staged upon. Or they choose to see a happy parent, full of love. Not Bitterness. Don’t you see how much they want your happiness? Need it actually!
YOU, KIMOSABE… are the teacher here. It won’t be an easy journey but it will bring you ultimately what you really do want in life, and what you deserve. A new beginning, a closed door, and hope.

Remember to hold your heart gently. It's fragile... but generous with love for those around you.

CARMA… Drive… with Care Please Hot Doggie!

The other day, my son and I were coming home from karate. It seemed like every idiot was out there, driving with us. On the way to karate, we had a lady cut us off, almost hitting the front left side of my car, but on the way home, we met a real winner. Or should I say WIENER.

So this guy comes out from behind us, totally speeding until he got stuck behind some mini-van (better him than me, so I sped up (so he couldn't zoom passed me either)as I moved into the Left turn lane.

Unbeknownst to me… he finagled his way from behind me, to next to me.

I am in Left turn lane #2, he was in Left turn lane #1. As the light turned, I started my turn. Two seconds later, the A-hole next to me is cutting me off to get into my lane so he can make the next Right… as were we.

So we are driving and I tell my son, see, this is what scares me about you being on a bike, or out walking… If these people can cut me off and I am in a two-ton car, then imagine what that would do to motorcycle or a little kid like you?

Just then, we pulled up to the light together. I rolled down my window. (yes you had to know something like this was gonna happen) and I say to the guys, HEY, ASSHOLE… (yes, I have taught my children how to cuss by merely sitting in the back seat of my car although the first time my daughter said SHIT, was the last time I said that word or any word close to it in my car again… but I digress so moving on…) I have kids in my car. Do you mind driving like a normal person?

He had to know that when I rolled my window down that I was about to exchange some not so niceties with him because obviously, this was the type of loser who got yelled at often because he was ready to sling the insults the second he saw my car window move.

He was armed, ready to give me a ration … he started to scream, saying that I needed to be careful, and then he yelled at me to, “Pay attention to the road, Lady!”

This also says to me that this isn’t his first drive-like-you-are-riding-a-bull Rodeo. In fact, I imagine by the way he was swerving in and out of traffic and cutting me off that this guy is always called out on his driving … In fact, I am willing to bet that he sees people going for their windows quite often on a daily basis!

For me, it was a teachable moment… especially as he went to make a Left and wasn’t quite paying attention cuz he focus was still on me that he made a Right turn right into the back of a white Honda. OOPS!! My son and I got a great laugh about that… hahaha idiot was driving bad, trying to blame us and he hit some car.. hahahahaha… I have to say that we got a great laugh out of it.

In fact, my son turns around and looks at me and says, “Mom, that guy got his karma by hitting that other car!! Get it Mom, CARma!

Have Ache Will Travel... The $29 Bliss or Miss?

Groupon is the best thing EVER!! I got a deal on a massage (or so I thought...) for $29, I got an hour massage. I am thinking, wow, this is great. My back has been bothering me with all of this rain, so a nice, relaxing message would feel great. (ahem, NO, I am NOT soliciting massage therapists!) And for $29 bucks... even better. Cuz it's not like you can ruin a massage right?

Well, WRONG, you can. I was telling the girl about one of my first massages, done at the YMCA from a dude who looked like Jesus. It was so weird, I had a hard time relaxing with the Son of God’s hands all over. Anyhoo, I’m digressing a bit. I do that sometimes. Sorry. It's a slippery slope in the inner workings of my brain.

Still on the digression progression, let me get back to my story. Massage, Jesus, Guilt, all things considered it was a memorable massage and not just because of being rubbed down by a holy-man-look-a-like, he went so deep that my massage threw my back out. I woke up the next day in pain and could hardly move. Maybe God was punishing me, not because he was really JC but because thinking of something makes it just as sinful as doing it... then again, I guess I kinda was doing it huh? Hmmm, Lets just move on to THIS massage.

I was talking to this massage therapist about the Jesus Massage in the context that I just wanted a nice and relaxing massage. I didn’t really want something to deep, I was really just looking for to having a nice break from life for an hour.

But that didn't happen. The conversation started with no deep tissue massage, moving onto the Jesus dude, and then onto onto her recent move from Oregon, or was it Wisconsin and then Oregon? Then onto her being a 1099 employee (which BTW by IRS regulations, she ISN'T) to moving, different types of Crocs, the Croc store at The Block, the new styles and the non-slip surface on the soles of Croc’s and then we got on the subject of taxes and jobs... She mentioned something about all Chiropractors are paying by doing the 1099 thing and then she moved on to how bigger companies are not paying health insurance benefits by making full-time employees into part-time employees, which brought us to Obamacare: YES!! The O Word!

As a 1099 Consultant, she cannot qualify for Obamacare and she makes too much to qualify for State Aid so she has no choices available to her. Then the topic sort of found its way to corporations paying benefits (rather NOT paying them, in lieu of making everyone part-time) and ended up how Obamacare is driving small businesses out of the small label, moving into obsolete... please... woman...

a) I wanted a relaxing massage. Do you seriously think this is relaxing?

b) It’s OK not to talk while doing massages... really it is. I mean, she had more of an issue with the uncomfortable silence, which btw, I had NO problem what-so-ever with that part, in fact, I kept not answering in the hopes that she would get the hint. Finally, I just gave and schooled her for a bit on how people pay taxes vs. how corporations pay taxes.

I told her that I have not paid taxes in years... if ever. I think I did one year and perhaps, that was the impetus for me never to do it again.

What's your secret, do you ask? Well I might as well tell you, as I did her, during this hour-long session. You start up your own business... but wait, she is a 1099 employee. So I went down the check list for her on what the IRS standards on the interpretation of "What makes a 1099 Contractor?"

By this point, she had done my back and flipped me over and started to work on my neck and shoulders. But I had her thinking with all of my brilliance, so she kept asking me questions. The only problem was HELLO, YOU ARE DOING MY MASSAGE, REMEMBER? I had to have her move or to stop in certain places because the 1 inch square of neck between my collar bone and the base of my neck has been massaged now enough to last me a lifetime... ok, so I over-exaggerate, but not by much. I tried to hint a couple of time by moving, telling her my neck hurts, getting up and cracking my neck and by golly if she didn’t just go right back to the same exact spot... OUCH already!

I wish I could have said, hey finish my … (arms, face, neck and hands...) but at this point, I was ready to get this $29 massage experience over with.

Look, she was a nice girl, but I didn’t pay to chat for an hour... no wait, to give free financial advice, while she got paid; She pretty much gained the pleasure from this visit… me? No.

The cherry... this was a Groupon for Chiropractors... Twins, Daniel and David, or something like that. She wanted to grab one of them to come in so they could give me the shpiel... Chiropractic... Good... Blah... Blah...

They pushed their services, (or was I just converted?)) asking to complete forms, talk about back problems/pain, past Chiropractic… they even asked for my insurance card. (Um, no) I am seeking a massage. Oh and, thanks for the great $29 for one hour of bliss … but no thanks.

What is Love? The Intimate View

A long time ago, I wrote a column called Up Close and Personal: the Intimate View. Someone recently asked me to answer the question, What is Love?

He came from a more technical perspective in his definition. But we all know that there is no place for thinking when it comes to love, right? Well is also made me remember how much I enjoyed writing that column... so if anyone has a question you would like me to answer or address, Bring It!

And for now, site back and enjoy this little ditty about Love... specifically, What Is Love?

My understanding of "real love". First, I don't think you can say "absolute concern". The term implies a level not obtainable. If I have absolute concern for my wife, I cannot have absolute concern for my children, my dad, mom, and so on. "Absolute" leaves room for nothing else. For example, consider the known temperature "absolute zero." I think it's -459 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the temperature in which all atomic motion ceases. That is, all atoms come to a complete stop. They can't get any colder. So, when I hear/read "absolute" I think highest, most, the top, pinnacle, can't go any higher, any more, you see?

Love (toward another human) is an intense desire to see that person continue throughout their lifetime to grow spiritually (not necessarily religiously), but to find spiritual growth and enhancement. It is selfless (not selfish). Love MAY also be that feeling you get when you are very close to the higher power of the universe. Love might be God and God might be love. I can't prove it though.

Thanks for putting up with me. These have been the thoughts I have when I consider the definition of "love".

I see the meaning of absolute entirely different; I don't see "absolute" as final, although it can be one of its definitions. Love is not final by any means; it is the foundation and part of a continual process. Although there are many definitions of "absolute," here are the first five according to www.dictionary.com.

abásoálute 1.Perfect in quality or nature; complete.
2.Not mixed; pure. See Synonyms of pure.
3. a. Not limited by restrictions or exceptions; unconditional: absolute trust. b. Unqualified in extent or degree; total: absolute silence. See Usage Note at infinite. 4.Unconstrained by constitutional or other provisions: an absolute ruler.
5.Not to be doubted or questioned; positive: absolute proof. Absolute Philosophy. a. Something regarded as the ultimate basis of all thought and being. b. Something regarded as independent of and unrelated to anything else.

Do you have more than one child? If so, do you not have absolute, complete love for each of them? You mentioned your parents; don't you feel love for each of them? Let's look at this from another perspective, Are you creative AND intellectual; or only creative or intellectual? Can you be both and still able to continue to grow in each aspect?

Love and relationships teach us lessons towards self-actualization and growth; you may finish one phase, like graduating from high school; you go on to college, graduate from college but you can still get your masters, doctorate, even two, or as many as possible. Love is an education; there is never a limit on what we can learn. There is a infinite depth of understanding we can obtain with the lessons of the heart.

I asked my 17 year-old daughter, "What is love?" Her answer was, "Feelings, very strong feelings. They make me feel good and bad. Love is pain, like Ja Rule says in a song." So I asked, how is love painful? She answered, "Because the pain comes when the heart hurts." So I ask, "When does the heart hurt?" She said, "It depends. I love someone but I cannot be with him." So, Des... the heart hurts because you love, or because you cannot express, give, and receive the love you feel?

Everything we do is based on two things: love and what isn't. The essence of love is sharing, to be received, as well as given. The opposite of love is not hate, it is apathy... the lack of feeling at all or feelings denied. Denial does not mean it isn't real, only we choose not to acknowledge something's presence in our life.

Love is much more than a concept. Love is a verb, an energy, just like money, we earn it and spend it; its power moves through us, affecting decisions, stirring emotions, changing our reality. Love is not elation itself, but can offer a sense of exhilaration. You cannot hold it, see it, although we can see and hold someone or something; this is where the attachment to love gets defined as a noun. We may "like" ice cream, but the ice cream is not the "like" only the meaning the ice cream holds in our beliefs.

Individually, we possess feelings just as we own the choice to love. Unrequited love is a perfect example; the other person may not know of the feelings, or may not feel the same way; however, what is felt is very real indeed. In this case, love is not given, nor is it received; simply love is....

I enjoyed reading your ideal of love. Often, love gets misunderstand if there is a greater threat or fear of loss; many can feel threatened if a partner goes through changes or growth, fearing the partner will leave. In this co-dependent relationship, love defined as an object, rather than the expression of feelings. The ownership of feeling is transferred to another person, making us dependent on that person as the source.

When someone feels anger or jealousy, there is love present, and a fear of loss that is stronger, which is why we see possessiveness in relationships; when the fear of losing someone is stronger than self-love, love is tied in as an object, often using control as a means to keep the love there.

As far as my credentials, I have degrees in Psychology, Reiki, and Metaphysics. What has taught me the most is been my continuous education in life school. I have learned more through my relationships and the many lessons offered by my children, family, partnerships, and friends. I have undoubtedly learned the most through my mistakes! Where else in life can getting an "F" teach us so much?

Maybe through the process of learning what love isn't, that is where we find the true definition of what love is?

The Republicans are feeling Shellshocked because Mitt Romney lost as the Republican Candidate in the 2012 Presidential Election? WOW... Did you actually think you were going to win? Seriously?

You all don't get it. It’s not what you did, or didn’t do for that matter. The fact that Romney didn't prepare anything other than his Victory speech spoke volumes, altho it more like arrogance to me.

You certainly had no intention of creating a major storm which gave the American people a chance to think... Hmmm, how would the responses have differed between the two separate candidates...? I mean that’s an easy one seeing as Republicans aren’t all that generous with funds over mushy stuff, like the environment. It’s in his Fiscal Plan, Romney wants to cut FEMA. He seems detached and aloof. He won’t answer questions, even to Fox News so how do I come up with any conclusion on who Romney is, and what he plans for the America People. Notice I didn’t just say the power hungry corporate fat cats, I said, the whole body of the American People… I could see Romney do a drive by from Air Force One, like Bush did over Katrina...

I mean, he isn't the warmest of the bunch and we know it’s all about cutting programs, except of course, defense... seeing as we are pissing people off so we gotta beef that puppy up.

Peeps… here is the secret. As I stated earlier, it isn’t about what he did or didn’t do. It’s about who he is. After the 2008 Election, the Republicans had this same line of questioning last time when you thought for sure you had the dream team of McCain and the Pig in Lipstick herself, Sarah Palin. When you fell hard… all the old, white-bred fingers were out there gawkin’ and a pointin’ Then they blamed Palin, and then McCain’s age, and Bush even... of course for leaving things in such a mess. Now, Romney, Quadrillionaire Business Mogul and his Tea Bagger fella, Paul (who should be tried for Treason over his 1/20/2009 Senate antics to stale-mate all of Obama’s measures) Ryan… everyone hoped that this dream team was it. All day I watched ol’ slick Romney’s confidence show off his $50k in dental work… all the way to his utter disappointment?

Have you noticed that the Republican Party has a hard time finding candidates? At least candidates without… baggage? Just when they think they have the perfect mixture of puppet and poster boy, BLAMMO, some hooker comes out of the woodwork carrying her 1/2 Asian plus 1/4 Creole love child, with the rest as Native American!

You picked this dynamic duo of Mogul Quadrillionaire, I mean, Mitt,(because not only does he know business but he is one of us.. he ‘get us) and Paul (hoping to re-unite the Republican party from the split-off ends of the Baggers!) which has now brought the Republican Party at 2 and 0, Democrats, and for added measure, the American people took back the Senate, since obviously a bunch of grown man just couldn’t do the job right.

Then again, they say that the anti-Christ will rise and bring the world back together… which means it definitely ain’t Obama but whose to say that the Anti-Christ is gonna be a man… After all, Anti Man is in fact, the women. We all know when you want a job to be done right, you need to send in the menstruating women. Then all will be right in the world.

Oh and Republicans? It’s not what. It’s who. You need to find a Republican with character. Someone that the people can look up to, and trust. Good Luck with that! It might just be a cool day in hell before the devil himself will let a Republican back into office. And every time you got your loss handed to you on a plate simply called Arrogance. You are a dying breed Mr. Elephant.

Maybe it’s the time to create a third party. Heck, name it after some militia and call it a day. The United States of the Greedy White Man.

Then at least you people will know where you stand... In the Loser’s box.

I am just grateful that enough Americans were able to see Romney for who he is... A greedy white man. I prayed that people were able to open their eyes to see these (fake) people (of the 53% who matter) for who they are... not just the (white) Christian, compassionate Senators who are holding your vote to preserve a fetus's right to life or to ensure that those horrible gays don't desecrate the very sanctity of marriage... (outside of their own love-less swimming in adultery and gay lovers) because Plain and Simple, A vote for the Republican Party is a Vote for Greed. That's it. The rest is the pretty colored ribbons and bows that they wrap up all their bullshit in.

Now that the election is over and all of the hoopla is winding down, politics now will stand up and brush their clothes off after the many cat-fights; they can to lick their wounds, as they prepare to steer us from the avalanche we face since Congress FAILED to have done it's job for the past four years as they attempted to manipulate 53% of the American people (that do matter, outside of the Minorities, the baby boomers, and tea totters) to shout the loudest...to stand up in outrage declaring that we would no longer be the ones to stand up for Change in 2012... but on the perception that the American people would be able to see Obama for who he was truly was, not the sway of Hope that people voted for in 2008. This coming from the most greedy of them all... Old White Bred Millionaires who could live on the interest alone while the rest of us remain jobless and homeless.

And clearly, the American people would be begging the Republicans to regain control of things after their plan to stale-mate Congress on any matter penned by our esteemed President, to show that Obama was unable to 'work across the aisle." We can't possibly think that the business of the American people was served better by Obama as Paul Ryan and his Republican cronies worked to ensure a stalemated Congress and their President, who was surely doomed to be one of those one-term Presidents exiting the Oval Office like a college sorority girl walking with her heels in her hands in last night clothes after a night of booze and boys... Those men who thought that this President would be leaving the White House in His own walk of shame...

Apparently God had his own plan after hearing the many prayers of people being duped by these greedy white bred men left in place to nurture and care for the people in this great nation. He decided that we needed to hold a glimmer of Hope as we move chose to move Forward as opposed to going backwards.

And now we hear the murmurs of men who cry, what has happened to our Great Nation. The answer is very simple. God happened. He said there will be a great statue located in the harbor that opened her arms to thousands of people a month, with the blessing that said, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

This lady gave these White Bred men the same courtesy when she opened her arms to those, and she continues to do the same. And the Bible also says that it is our responsibility to care and nurture the men, women, children, those os same and different skin color, and those of same and different beliefs, even those who have same partners to wed. Would you still fight for the right of that fetus to have life if you knew that he would be gay? Or Hispanic? Or a black man who one day would be President... against all odds and trickery done by others who claim to act in God's glory yet the only glory we see gleaming is that of their own success as they control taxation and laws to benefit them.

See I took this testament to mean that anyone who wishes to have a chance of the American dream, should have one... Not have one given to them my unscrupulous bankers whose attempt is to gain more wealth as they steal the very house from underneath you, after laying you off the workers who helped to build this company from the ground up. Don't misinterpret this action to be anything other than selfish, something necessary to serve the company, and corporate greed.

Thanks to those who stood up for themselves, not just to those who weren't good enough... the 53% who absolutely DID matter because we all do. God opened his arms so that we can all prosper, to live in freedom, and to once again, find Hope, and without hope, there is no faith.

I believe that God truly did Bless America this pass Tuesday. I know there are a lot of people who don't agree and even those who feel that the that we have lost the country. These are the same people who thought all they needed was to reach the 53%... because the rest didn't matter.

There delusion was a costly mistake! It was those who didn't matter to them, that brought this Presidency home. I guess they have a right to be shell-shocked. To all those Americans who hate Obama....how weird it must be to hate a President that finally doesn't make the rest of the world hate America? Hmmmm.

Well who would I be if I didnt have an opinion? So here is my response. First, let me say this... Why am I posting this on my blog?... I know I am going to get someone who is going to come back with some stupid comment that more than likely sites no specific example or fact, only calls Obama, the Democrats, or me, all kinds of derogatory names, but that is probably based on some piece of media interpretation from a completely biased source, like Fox News...?

This isn’t just one vote, it’s whole states full of people. The sad thing is they are fighting for their right to judge another person based on sexual orientation, stem cell research, or the right to choose, or some other issue that frankly, is NO ONE’s business. I mean, I don’t tell you how to live, so don’t feel like you have that right either. And government (remember the one you want smaller) certainly doesn’t have the right to tell me, whether or not I can take advantage of stem cell research, or my right to make a decision based on MY choice.. I mean, I certainly don’t wanna know when you cheat, lie, and scheme, party all week and then attend church, have sex outside of marriage, or cheat on your taxes even… all that is your decision… private to you and only you.

IMO I think your insulation into my right to choose based on your judgment is just as bad of sins as what you claim abortion or gay marriage would be. I mean, if you think it’s an abomination against God, then by all means. Let God deal with them and you stay out of it.

Oh wait... isn't judgment a sin? Hmmm, I guess we all need to get a sin meter so we can see which sins have lesser or greater value, like scheming people out of their savings, throwing bombs at an abortion clinics, or even blocking their passageway. Now we watch members of the Republican party (not all, but a nice number) destroy the US’s economic balance.

I believe it says in the Bible that you shall not judge. Shall I get you these Scriptures? OK, Luke 6:37, Do not judge lest you be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Hmm, that is an interested statement. If you do not forgive another person, then you will not be forgiven. So does that mean that even though you have accepted Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior, his dying on the cross is not yours if you judge, condemn, and not forgive others? Or do you think God means it a different way and it’s ok to judge, condemn, and not forgive others because you are saved? I will be really curious to see how that works for you at the Pearly Gates… because I think every time you open your mouths on these issues, that’s exactly what you are doing… Who died and left you, well, God?

What’s sad to me is we are at war here in the US… a war with each other, the Republicans and the Democrats, especially right now. We started this four years ago when we elected President Obama… a black man. The war against the black man continues, as it has every day for the past three years while we have had a black man in office. Now its ok to lie, defame, denounce our President when we should be praying for him and the United States. But some feel it’s best to call him names and belittle him, and make up lies to make others believe that he is a bad man. Well he isn’t. He is a very smart man who has struggled, altho he wont admit it, to do the best that he can for the United States, even though his presidency has been likened to a salmon trying to swim up river to lay eggs. And now the United States economic solvency is based on the account that people are bottom line, prejudice… of the man's skin color, instead of validating his kindness and compassion, his strength and his intelligence, his basic need to do the very best job that he can… considering.

Guess what, that Black man is already leaps and bounds smarter than many of you who call him names, constantly slander him, trying to impeach him based on his birth, which was just another attempt to remove him from office. I guess that makes them a little nervous? LOL

So then here came the game plan that was to stop the inner workings of the oval office as Congress and the House members decided not to vote on Congressional matters sent from the White House Administration… Honestly, I didn’t believe it until I read it, and then I started to think back over the past two years… and by golly, if I didn’t see it with my own eyes… Congress blocked eny effort to pass the bills on the floor regarding finance, Medicare and insurance, police, fire, children’s education. Everything has been blocked by members of the Republican party. (which will lovingly be known as Repube’s from here on in.) And the Repube’s did this on the taxpayer’s dime at that... I don’t know what country you came from but in my eyes, I believe that is called Treason, a scheming, and grand larceny, all rolled into one… and all under the eyes of the American people because the media feeds us BS and we eat it up … like friggen’ Pacman... nyump, nyump, nyump.

All of these men should be fired immediately and then arrested for exactly that… Treason. That’s Treason, with a capital ‘T’ folks. Scheming against the people so that every effort of the President would be thwarted. So that no matter what he tried to do, it was blocked. Well Treason in the United States is illegal, and punishable what I wish is Life in prison without parole but we all know IF that ever happened, it would be 3 years in a country club type of prison where they are released with a new book and an up and coming book and late night television tour, beginning with good ole Dave.

The Repube’s think that they are above the law. And they almost got away with it too. After all, Bush LIED and took this country into war that we couldn’t afford over an issue that didn’t even involve the country who was guilty, so he could go after a country that held precious stock (and the financial future of his family and friends who were all friends of the Bin Ladens, after all George did go to college with them) but hey, they had to protect their interests in OIL, even at the risk of bankrupting this country, but hey.. no harm, no foul. Clinton has sex with an Intern, which is NOT EVEN AN OFFENSE HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH US AFFAIRS, and Repube’s called for his immediate resignation. PL-ease. I am so over this bullshit.

Wake up people. It’s time to stop living in denial.

I guess I can’t be so general that I lump everyone in this group because I do really think that the awakening of the American people is already happening. People are starting to see that Congress did actually what they set out to do… block every one of Obama’s initiatives that went thru Congress (except Obamacare bcuz of course they needed something to hang him on) as they planned to do on January 20, 1999, at the same time Obama was being sworn into office.

Welcome Folks, This is Earth School ~Part Two

This is going to be a really short post. Its just long enough to tell you all why there is a Part Two, to the original story. Well you see, I was minding my own business, and out of the blue, some chick emails me with a Cease and Desist notice saying, I used the post Welcome (omitting the Folks, and adding This is to avoid being sued because it certainly doesn't look like her book is selling much in 12 years) Earth School in a post, and my post has nothing to do with her book (this is probably a good thing seeing as she has like 27 likes (Yikes!))

Ok, I should be nice, I mean she is one of those hippie types, probably a tree hugger, you know, the kind who meditate seven times a day and don't eat Burger King... or maybe she does then she purges cuz it's more about appearances than reality... so I did as she asked, and changed the name to my post to Welcome Folks, This is Earth School, Part One.

Oops, I forgot the Part One. I have to go back and change it. *Note to self... go back and fix the post. Heck I don't want some lady coming after me with her nasty lawyers cuz apparently SHE coined the name.... well actually, I DOUBT that she coined the name but was the first person to get the name posted in the Library of Congress, paying her $20. So you wanna see the email she wrote? I know you are, so of course, I copied and pasted it here for you to oogle...

To Blame or Not to Blame... 339 People... not One!

Obama Did it Again?!

Once again, I am seeing a whole bunch of people (mainly stirred by Fox News (Big surprise there, huh?)) that are saying, Obama has done it again. Obama Signed this bill HR 347 into place that states anyone protesting where Secret Service is, can be arrested... meaning it’s now a federal offense and punishable for up to a year.

Ok first, no one is going to arrest someone for a year for not doing anything. Seriously people? Secondly, it’s only where Secret Service is at, meaning, someone who needs protection. I think it’s a smart move, cuz where there are protesters, there are angry people, and where there are angry people… well, you do the math.

Personally, my guess is that too many Congressman and House Reps are getting a bad rap now that too many people who don’t like their brand of politics. (hmm, sounds like someone isn’t doing his/her job well, seeing as they do (ahem) work for the PEOPLE of their Districts. And sometimes, I think the idiots up on the hill forgot WHY they are there. No, actually I don’t think that. I think they know damn well what they are doing. Greedy bastards.

I mean, come on, we know this is because they are not playing fair and they should be fired if they are not doing their job, and if they need protection, It’s because they have their hands in the wrong cookie jar: the 1% cookie jar. And they intend to keep their hands deep in that jar, so help them God.

Oh sorry, silly me, the oath that they are sworn in under… when they are elected to work for the people and not for their own personal agenda.

Well back to the note I started… before I once again, digressed into the pit of politics. There isn’t one person in this country that does everything. So why is it, every time something bad happens (in the eyes of the Republicans) its Obama’s fault. People get a clue. Here is how it works. Political Science 101.

These two dude from the House decided that they needed to beef up protection when political (or other higher profile peeps) people were out and about. Maybe these two people pissed someone off and made some not so friendly, friends that began to protest their actions. This made these two blokes sitting targets, so Representative Tom Rooney (R-Fla.) and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT.) leading the Senate version SB 1794.

Now they say this bill is to protect ANYONE who needs Secret Service and it can be for anything from the Academy Awards to a trip the Superbowl, anyone who needs protection is gonna get it… along with a few greedy politicians. (a few… LMFAO… I crack myself up!)

My point here is that we are blaming one man for this injustice, so to speak. Yet, there are two bills floating around, the House and the Senate’s version and one of the two just got signed by the Prez himself after an OVERWHELMING vote of 338 to 3… and no folks, Ron Paul was NOT one of the nay voters as his political team may want you to believe…. Mr. Paul actually decided to sit this one out.

FOUL: You don’t get to SAY you vote against it if you DON’T VOTE! Hmm, maybe Mr. Paul is more than a politician than I thought he was.

So anyway, back to my article… Obama Did It! He didn’t really do IT. He had help. A LOT of fucking help. 338 people’s worth! In fact, let me tell you another little detail about this bill. Miraculously, that bill was passed in record time. IMAGINE THAT.. THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING QUICKLY… when they want something done anyway.

And by the way, I am not writing this because I am for Obama and Anti Ron Paul, I am ANTI POLITICS! I am angry and frustrated that the people we have elected to work for us in Washington don’t give a shit about me, or what I want. They ONLY thing that they care about is themselves, their power, and getting even wealthier. In fact, here is another little tidbit I thought I would share… did you know that 44% of Politicians are Millionaires?

Seriously? You think they are working for me? Absolutely NOT. They are and have been working for their own agendas so of course they need to have extra protection because they are playing a dangerous game here and majorly pissing people off. And Lord knows, we don’t need someone who is already pissed off chanting of their transgressions while they attend a concert in their $4000 suits.

So what am I saying then? I am saying FIRE THEM ALL! This isn’t about Republicans and Democrats, this is a class war, Upper and lower now, since in 10 years, they have managed to wipe out the entire middle class.

So I ask you people, before you type out that sentence… Obama blah blah blah blah blah.. ask yourself, did he? Did he really? Or is he one of 400 of our (not so finely polished politicians) who have managed to lie and trick us into believing that one man, Obama, is SOOO powerful that he is running around rogue in Washington and no one has the power to stop him (God I don’t know peeps, that sounds a lot like Bush Jr. to me... just ask the Dixie Chicks) yet the only thing he has managed to get pass was Obamacare, which the Republicans have pointed every finger at him for (again, one man people?) which I personally think they let Obamacare pass so they had something to blame on, while stale-mating every other piece of business that has passed through Washington over the past 3 years.

I for one, am disgusted with American politics to the point where I am finding myself ashamed to be associated with what used to be a respectful and proud country whose compassion and strength helped nations and their inhabitants continue to grow and flourish.

And whatever happened to the American Dream? Heck we can barely afford to pay rent anymore after thousands of Americans have lost everything from their jobs to their houses… all while the rich get richer, one hundred times over.

Every day, I POKE… A lot. It all begins with one little POKE, the POKE that begins my journey every day! Moving up through the numbers, one-by-one, moving all the way through 66, 67, 68 POKES … and finally… the VERY last POKE becomes, ‘POKEer …of the Day.’

My numbers are growing every day! In fact, the morning starts out with POKE numbers close to 200 BUT add in the slackers and the repeat offenders, and we easily see numbers over 300 + POKES a Day! Isn’t that Amazing!

I have SO MANY fantastic POKERS! I think by now that you know how I feel about you. I want to create that opportunity to become the POKEer of the day…but sometimes, lady luck just isn’t shining down on you... So I decided to do something about it. You know… to Praise those who deserve to be praised!

The best thing is that they read every single word I write- altho it is ok you can just LIKE me!... It’s NOT necessary to add your comments to each and every post! L

THESE are my die-hard TRUE FANS of Opinion8d1 and they should be acknowledged. In fact, the NEED to be acknowledged! So I am righting my wrong. It’s THAT time… time for YOU to get acknowledged because YOU matter.

And I DON’T ever stop the brown-nosing to ever stop!!

I knew that I had to do something to encourage people to continue their brown-nosing and gift giving. I mean, anything free, for me anyway is allowed … and very much appreciated! Well folks, I decided to finally make the commitment to the madness and host a 1/2 hour show, starting at 4pm PST, beginning Friday, March 23rd, 2012.

Moving on to the next order of business… What do I hope to achieve with this show? I want this show to be an extension of craziness and fun that we have on facebook.

The Opinion8d1 crew of zany people certainly know how to throw a party… Now, girls and boys, we get to throw a party once a week, only this time, we get to talk about interesting and life changing topics, such as, what are your Deal Breakers? Would Speedos be a Deal Breaker? Or would you leave a relationship if he/she was a terrible kisser? You would be surprised how many people every day come to me with these sorts of problems, asking for my opinion. And hey, like I say on the blog… it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it!

But the best part of taking facebook to Blog Talk Radio is that we have done lots of crazy things on facebook, like we’ve had parties for holidays were we judged Halloween costumes or we’ve done a couple of Truth or Dare games, and on Valentine’s Day, we did some of our own matchmaking, Morgana Style! which would be GREAT to do on the show since five (5) people can call in!!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

My story today is short and sweet. My son was at Laser Tag. Next door, there was a cosmetology school. I didn’t know the name and don’t recall seeing it there before. I went in to ask about getting a perm.

You know… I want to start off by saying, I don’t know why I tell you these things? Who knows why I feel the necessity to vent all my rants and ravings to people I hardly know, yet… feel as if I know so intimately. It’s quite… Erotic.

Anyway, back to my story... The girl at the desk was clueless. (and keep reading as we find out that she was, if you can believe it, even MORE clueless than originally expected.)

Here is the set up. We have established I wanted to get a perm. It’s my birthday and my Bestie (tee hee LOVE Big Bang Theory!!) and I have this thing about changing it all up for your birthday.

You know... Change Your Hair, Change Your Life!

It’s pretty quiet in there. I had to wait, oh I don’t know, about a minute before someone finally came up to the counter to acknowledge my presence. I ask about pricing. The girl is like, ‘Well… I don't know how much, it depends on your hair.’

But the brochure says, $30.00… HERE... (I point)

"Well, I don't know how much." OK, so we have now completely covered that, I take the brochure home cuz I want to talk to someone who does know.

Just cuz of life drama, you know like stuffy noses and hectic schedules, I wait about two more weeks until I call… I get the Operator's screeching, “The number you have dialed has been changed.” Meanwhile, this... “???” is going on in my head as I am listening to the operator’s voice. “The NEW number is,” Oh Shit, grab a pen… “951-…….-……..” Wow! San Bernardino!

Not wanting to sound as dumb as the girl but I am stating the obvious... Did they move… because I was just there two weeks ago and I walked into a full-serve salon. And wouldn’t that girl have told me, "Hey, we are like moving, tomorrow!?"

So I shrug it off and call the number. After a very brief conversation, I hung up. Figures... they are not accepting patrons yet. Apparently they just opened. DA,M!! No perm. The school has up and moved twenty miles on me. Maybe that is why the girl looked like a deer caught in the headlights as she spoke to me... “Well I don't know...” Guess my life isn’t changing much this year!

You don’t think, I don’t know is gonna be the theme or anything?

So next I am cruising Yelp thinking maybe I can find another school. (ok, I know some of you are asking why a school. Because I am cheap, and broke! Now if you wanna judge, then hand over a coupon for a free perm (my chick costs $80+tip))

Oh Look! Here is one, right down the street from my house. GREAT! There are a lot of good reviews… but wait… aww bummer, they are ALL from students ... cept this one chick. LOL, she reviewed and said, paraphrasing here, ‘well she is good but she graduated and now I go to her house.’ OK. Now that helps!

I was thinking about emailing her to get her address. Cuz clearly now I am getting desperate!

Down at the bottom of the page, they ask if this review helped you. They have these buttons that ask, is this funny? Does this review help? Was this Cool!! Oddly, it seemed that Yelp was more concerned with getting a laugh then giving a righteous review because the question that should have been asked was “Dude, (or Ette) Is this relevant? Are you blond and should be the better question to ask?” I started to look around for the ‘WTF?’ button!

And NO… just in case you were thinking, neither of these girls had blond hair... not even a streak!!

So the moral of this story is, well I am not quite sure what it is but it would be something like, don’t judge a book by its cover. Relevant? Nope. But you get the idea! Maybe you could write a review on my blog and submit it to Yelp!!

Only I have to wonder what category you would put me in? I am not really the kind of girl that one puts in a category… unless of course, you include, PHore! IF you know what I mean! ; >

It seems like it is getting harder and harder to write my Holiday letter each year, that I find myself putting it off as much as possible. There is so much to write, then there is the angle of how much do people really want to know about, especially because this year has been especially tough for my family. No, I am not here to get the pity vote. That is just the reality of it. I guess we can’t always write about rainbows and unicorns. We are all healthy, thank God, knock on wood, and all that other good stuff… things financially are tight which has caused the bulk of my stress but I would imagine they are with you as well. I am grateful to say that we are not about being in survival or anything like that… emotionally, physically, things are taking their toll; boy I am beginning to feel my age!

And then it feels like time literally has sped up…Where did this year go? I know we say that every year but Jeez Louise… I can remember feeling invincible… right? Now I couldn’t stay up all night if I wanted to… unless of course, I am nursing a sick child and I have been up since 4am, like today!

What really bothers me about the chunks of time that have gone missing for some odd reason this year... I haven’t been to see people that really matter to me, like our many Georgia friends or my aunts.... One was such a support for me when Grace was first born and I have not even taken her to meet Grace. It’s important to me that my relationships not suffer. Like flowers, they need to be nurtured. It seems like unless you live with me, then we don’t talk often… and sometimes at all. I truly apologize for that. I do miss my familial ties and I am feeling a bit like a hypocrite since I hold a standard in my own relationships – they won’t be one-sided.

You know it’s not from lack of desire. It really is that I am just plain pooped. Heck these kids alone are a full-time job! But I manage to slip in a little ‘me’ time as well. But that is few and far in-between. I try to connect where I can. Please know that you are not far from my heart. <3 It’s like time creeps up and I still have so much to do. And before I know it, it’s Christmastime.

So why do I write these letters? Well part of it is because it seems over the past few years especially, this is the best way for me to connect with the people I care about. It definitely gives me an excuse to and it kicks me in the butt to put myself out there! If you are reading this, then you matter to me. Now that won’t necessarily get you any prize or anything but what it does do is say that you are my friend… not just FB style, the one who left heartprints. There is some path we are on together on this crazy ride and I for one… am grateful for the opportunity to be here with you. I guess because I feel so incredibly blessed with my own life that I want to share so if there is something I can do for you, please let me. I can even offer a virtual hug, right now!

I try to make my life meaningful, by bringing the things that hold meaning in my own life. A lot of that comes from raising my children. I know that I didn’t give birth to these beautiful kids… I get a lot of people that tell me how I am doing such a good thing for these kids but I defend this statement a lot, and this is the perfect time to explain my actions. Children are such an incredible light source. They are the purest love in action, and when I was afforded the opportunity (and the blessing) to be part of that sharing, then it was ME who is the lucky one! And in return, I get to help mold them into little taxpaying members of society. (Egads… hopefully not Republican (Sorry but I just had to go there!))

So a lot of what we have been doing is just day-to-day life stuff. So here is a recap of the years events, cuz trust me, that would bore you to tears to have to listen to my daily itinerary.

I love my work. Love the marketing and PR stuff! I am building a voice-over business and built my home studio so it was cool to earn my first dollar through writing and producing my first commercial at home! I have worked on just a couple of events, rather than my usual 3-4 major events… so I could spend more time at home being Mom. I am finding it hard NOT to work. Things are settling down, so this coming year will be all about new doors, new openings, and new opportunities that are continuing to build from the foundation I have been working from. Hey but guess what??!! Now that I am old… I finally know what I want to be when I grow up!

I can honestly say that I have been blessed in my career at the opportunities I have accomplished. I have worked with and for my mentors, internationally known artists, musicians, and cinema, TV and soap personalities, authors… And you know what I have learned… well I really already knew it… people are people. No one is more special than the other... and the true stars are those who give so much of themselves… NOT the celebrities. Give freely: there is nothing but good to be received!

My writing has been great! I have been writing under both names, which has been affective in keeping a couple of my many personalities satisfied. I have a successful and growing blog, Opinion8d1, along with two facebook accounts, (one maxed at 5000 friends!) as well as all of the social media outlets (did I mention I was a social media guru!) So for my career, obviously changes from the Business Manager! Actually, having my extensive business background has been very beneficial in the production of a major fundraising event for New Orleans, NOLAFest…

Oh I just finished (and mailed two copies this week) a book I just wrote on Pet Adoption... from the perspective of a pup! (so wish me luck, cross your fingers, and all that jazz. Come on, I would do it for you!! ) The book stems from the adoption of our puppy, Bella, my 8 month old black lab mix. We love her bunches… sometimes; even after she has eaten countless shoes and toys, she is still here  Once we got past that annoying puppy stuff, she has been an absolutely sweet joy… especially at night when she cuddles her massive 30 pounds on me. Ever tried to move the dead weight of a dog who does NOT want to go outside? I think we might have failed her as a guard dog; she may pin and lick a perpetrator to d… er, discomfort. For this reason, I won’t be sending a return address.

Altho still single, ain’t nothing happening there either and I am OK with that! I am way too tired to even think about bringing another person into this equation. Altho Michael asked Santa for a dad last year for Christmas. Literally. YIKES. Michael, Grace, Bella, and Des make this house very full!

Michael is 8 and in 3rd grade. He is a Math and Science Whiz! In fact, he just won an award for passing the Math semester Benchmark test and he score 100! He even went to an award ceremony for being the only one of two students that passed with 100%. He loves to read, loves math and in just a couple of months, has mastered his multiplication tables, up to 12’s. Do you know how long it took me? And I even had to write my times tables out as a punishment as a child. Hmm…? Glad he gets it.

Grace is a beautiful light. She is 2 now. Grace is absolutely adorable, I mean, people see her and just melt. Her smile, her dimples… she could be on TV. LOL. I laugh because she is already a DIVA. She loves to sing and can sing the words to any song … (altho she didn’t even talk until just a few short months ago.) music in general (elevator, car, zoo) will make her start bebopping, dancing, and singing. Then on the flip-side, she is a tough nut; she is very strong-willed. We have been working with her through Occupational Therapy. (Asperger’s runs in the family.) Her progress has been amazing. 6 months ago, Grace was barely speaking, maybe a vocabulary of 20 words. 6 months ago, one kiss was a rare occurrence and now I am grateful for all of the kisses I get! My heart just melts when Grace squeak’s, “I Love You too, Mommy.”

I am not sure what this year holds for me. Tough question for me. I have a plan but we all know the joke, ‘if you want to make God laugh… tell your plans. Well that is what happened this year. I am hoping to pick up an internship, my last internship. I am shooting for Public Relations or Event Planning, or Programming at another station. (Hey, I interviewed at POWER and KDAY last Spring so I am going big!) I am getting my resume brushed off and ready to go for the New Year! (More finger crossing please!)

Well folks, the ride is about to stop. Please exit on your left. I hope you got to walk a minute in my shoes and aren’t attempting to run yet! Kidding. That was my attempt to be humorous…even I got that it wasn’t funny. Besides, humor isn’t where I am at now. I am being serious. We all need heart-prints… for life to be Heart-felt.

Holy Crap Batman… Christmas is Sunday!

Are you like me, a person who was being dragged through life by the pages of her calendar…? LIFE, as seen through the image of the rear view mirror? I can’t believe it’s already Christmas, I mean it’s here, Sunday!

What the HELL happened to this year?

Are you one of those people who have had everything prepared for Christmas for weeks now? The tree went up right after Thanksgiving and you are now in the second week of the full-scale war of Christmas decorations you have going on with your neighbors… all the way down to gift wrapping and the preparation for the special toast said during Christmas Dinner?

Thank God I mailed out my Christmas cards on Tuesday.

Sadly, I actually thought I was early this year until I was standing in line and noticed that today was the last date to get your gifts mailed out in order to arrive in time for the holiday. For a second, I had a moment of angst... until I remember, OH YEAH... too broke to mail anything this year. So that made it very simple for me!

I used to send everything out early December. But those cards and my holiday letter are written later each year. In fact, I think I even mailed out my Christmas cards late last year… oh well, so we have the Sum up the Year Letter, rather than the Holiday letter.

Tomatoes, tomatoes… <------ LOL … you get my drift!

All I know is that I woke up this morning and realized that Christmas isn’t next week... like I thought it was... like I was prepared for! When you add Christmas Eve as another partial holiday that we slide in there in order to see both families… it’s even closer than we think.

You know, I noticed something was fishy when I began writing the wrong dates, dating the months incorrectly as it appeared that the past just whizzed right by... July was really August, so when September sashayed into October, almost claiming Halloween... I knew I was in big trouble. It seemed like just another harmless Labor day, (especially with the crazy weather we have in SoCo recording over 90 on Thanksgiving) I knew we were in trouble. I was wearing white, for heaven’s sake.

And it’s not like we don’t get plenty of notice as we peruse through the aisles of the larger retail stores… Heck, I am shopping for summer in February and Winter when it’s 100 friggen degrees out. But it’s me right? I guess I am the one not paying attention.

So then I ask myself, ‘What am I so focused on?’ Life, work, kids, religion, friends, more work, bills, OMG politics UGH! And don’t forget... I have a job to squeeze in there somewhere! Geez people, get off my case already! And yet ‘Dunno.’ is the only plausible answer I can come up with. It’s not like I have any major accomplishments to say, I was soooo busy with this… and before I knew it, it was July! Nope. To quote Mother Nature, ‘There will be no fooling her this time!’ Or… in this case is it Father Time…?

Just do me a favor during this holiday season. Close your eyes and pretend it is snowing outside. (For some of you this should be really easy!) Imagine the fireplace crackling from the fire and the smell of roasted nuts. (Hopefully NOT the boyfriend’s for SOMETHING stupid he managed to pull off!)

Ahem.. sorry. Got distracted. (hmmm, I am kinda noticing a theme here)

When you have that magical hearth scene, picture the tree all decorated… the smell of pine cones, and the hot chocolate on the stove. Hear the voices of the young and the old in your life.

See them, one by one and in your mind’s eye, and tell them that you love them.

Go on... sure, you can hug them. Everyone likes a nice big hug… it’s this girl’s answer to Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Speaking of this girl… make sure you picture me in your mind’s eye too. Know that I wish nothing but the best for you and your loved ones. May your holiday be blessed, however you choose to enjoy it.

I know mine will be just a little more happy, loved, and full of laughter and joy... all because you are in it.

Thanks for walking through the trenches on the bad days, and for sipping champagne on those days we had everything to celebrate for and for the rest of the days in between!
Oh and thanks for not laughing at me when you saw me in my pony tail and sweats.

WTF!! New Language Giving Cursing a Pass! FAIL!

You know life can be a bitch. So can interacting via the internet and email. Or by phone, instant messaging. Then there is facebook, blah, blah, blah... and even the secret language of texting. There are so many different ways for us to communicate... by NOT communicating, that I find it all to be rather impersonal and detached.

Without being able to process the tone behind our words, people are often misheard or misunderstood; in fact, how many times have you gotten into an argument over something you said that was twisted around because it went through someone else’s emotional filter?

Text.. or Not to Text... That is the question. So I asked, are all of our means of communication really good ways of connecting with others? Do we want to connect or are we merely looking for ways to get the point across without having to actually face someone? Have we become that far disconnected?

We are this technological generation, with the emphasis on logic, fighting for the latest versions of a smart phone or TV. We are at the point where the mind is the control box… not human emotions. We do the brain's bidding... not the heart, as it should be. But is a text enough to send the emotional value that goes with a message we might send? I don't know, maybe if we write the text in color? Red for mad, pink for happy, and blue for sad… we will be able to send the note over with its expected emotion... perhaps a step up from the emoticon! WTF!!

By the way, WTF!! which means ‘What the Fuck.’ And in case you don’t know it, Fuck is considered to be a bad word... (altho brilliant I say... after all, a word like 'Fuck' can be used as a noun, verb, and adjective... and all at the same time! So in my book, that can't be all that bad of a word) But if I type it as WTF!! I can say What the FUCK anywhere I please. In fact, anyone can say it… WTF!!?

Earlier I was speaking to a friend. I told her about this video called, ‘What If This Were Your Child?’ It’s an incredibly disturbing, heart-wrenching confessionof a young man… no, a boy … who wants to do harm to himself.

Jonah has been bullied for 6 years now, to the point where he has repeatedlycut on himself. The bullying started in the 2nd grade; the same age as my son as I hear the some of the same sadness echoing in my son's own words about the mean kids at school. Watching this young man in so much pain was heartbreaking. I pray that as a parent, of course I don’t ever hope see this happen to my son, let alone any child... feeling like he has no other choices but...? WTF!!

But we as a community need to put an end to bullying on both ends. Children generally just don't wake up one day and say, Hey.. When I grow up, I want to be a big Dickhead. It's up to each one of us to hold each other up in our communities, in our families... even in our dreams. Communities… what’s that you say? Sadly, it seems like we no longer need communities and neighbors and even, the human touch. What we NEED is more technology. MORE... WTF!!

The videos that were shared along with this one, “The Difference Between a Bank and a Gun” and “Does Anybody Really Want a Coat this Cheap?” Of course both with courageous messages; but not a child standing in front of your, wiping the tears from his eyes as he tells you how he failed himself. Both netted over 300,000 shares each… with the Bank and the Gun tipping the scales at over 1M shares. WOW. Oops I mean, WTF!!

I get it... you gots to know where your money is.

So are we that numb? Living in that much denial to not be able to see, and share his pain --because he is gay? I mean, maybe had he not openly admitted he was gay… then we could have shared this video with our friends.

But THAT is an abomination… of God. And an abomination is an abomination; therefore, the boy must be an abomination… right? By that justification, does he deserve what he is feeling. WRONG! Altho my son isn’t gay, he isn’t normal… He is autistic. But here I go again, back to topic of bullying and denial and not what this article is about.

I'm SO CONFUSED...

I mean is it ok that we continue to throw the F Bomb around, like it was BRB?!! WTF?? I mean huh? Both seem to fit. Just as serious…

Parents, isn't this what you have to put a quarter in the coin jar for? And yet, here we are... making one of the worst abominations of words... utterly casual... When we use WTF!! for just about everything, like we are flipping around pancakes. Would you like Syrup with that?

Yet it’s so common that even our kids use it, yet, the 'F Word' that us so bad it earned its own initial, 'F?' Wow.

So let me get this straight. I can’t say Fuck cuz then I would be a potty mouth. But, I can merely change it to WTF!! and then I can say it in the open… I can write it out, text it, heck any format that will allow it, like facebook, Twitter, IM, LinkedIn... any application that allows it. The biggest offenders being... take a guess people… parents. Noooo, your children. My children. OUR children.

So let’s all be happy parents with loving children and work on can expanding language to include something other than inappropriate and not as defamatory words... Like WTH!!

Cuz you know if you don’t actually say it... it doesn’t count. Yea… Right? Have I got some beachfront property I was dying to talk to you about…

Celebrating Gratitude...

I think we should have boycotted black Friday this year. This is the third year of NO Christmas for a lot of people. The country is in a bad place and black Friday is a myth. Here we will give you 5 things that are good deals at or below cost and then entice you once you are in the door.

In my opinion8d self... we had NO business shopping black Friday this year. I think we should go back to basics this year and scrap all of the commercialism behind the holiday and celebrate the joy or family and friends. Celebrate by sharing time and ourselves, maybe sharing a small gift each. Celebrate the gratitude of the season... not the selfishness and certainly NOT corporate greed.

Here is a clue... if your children rip open a present, look at the gift, and set it aside... then parents, you are NOT doing your job!

This year, as it has been each of the past years, people are struggling and many wont have a Christmas BUT those who wont have the traditional Christmas will have the pleasure of celebrating the true blessing of the holiday... it's time to Celebrate Gratitude!

Happy Thanksgiving... Morgana Style

I have been thinking about how to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday that remarkably, is already here... Tomorrow it will be Thanksgiving in the States; on the Opinion8d1 page, I have been thinking of somewhere to bring the celebration to the wall so we can all celebrate together. I don't want anyone to feel like they can’t participate.

Let's make the celebration all day and for the 'facebook' community; a community where we are able to celebrate without walls. Let’s share a piece of ourselves here in this forum today... with a twist.

I originally was thinking about doing something to 'Pay it Forward.' Then I thought about having something to do with Warm Fuzzies. And today it hit me. I would like everyone to contribute something writing of some sort that pretty much does both.

By sharing something of meaning to you, not only are you are sharing something about yourself, you are also possibly paying it forward in sharing that meaningful experience with someone else.

It can be a quote, a poem, or just a meaning thought, or prayer that you feel strongly about sharing... something that resonates with you, bringing joy and meaning to you. Please feel free to share the inspiration in came from as well!

I will begin. It’s a poem from Marianne Williamson that is often mistaken to have been written by Nelson Mandela, since it was also used in his Inaugural Speech. The poem is called, “Our Deepest Fear.”

I think this has touched me because there have been many times where I am in a public role. And like every other person in the world, sometimes I struggle with my feelings of inadequacy, often asking myself about my own worthiness, since I consider being in a public role a very important role. See regardless of who I am and the things I say, every day I will be in front of someone who may or may not know me, and every day, I will have choices to make, that will somehow affect them, whether its directly or indirectly. We see this more in situations of parents and children, but bosses and workers, friends, family, even one angry person at a grocery store has the ability to make or break someone’s day.

And when I doubt who I am, or my presence in the world, or perhaps I need to remember who I am, this poem will help in guiding me to the person I strive to be.

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?

No More Ads... No More Ads... No More Ads...

Well you would be glad to know that after careful consideration, I decided to dump the ads on my page.

‘Why did I have them,’ you asked? well it wasn't really to make money, in fact, I don't think I have ever made a penny off of having an ad on my blog. But it did make my blog seem a little more professional.

So why do I want to be more professional.. Me? Morgana Reeves? Ok that seemed to have answered THAT question. I am professional when I need to but my blog isn't about being professional, it's about being myself. And me all stuffed up in a suit, well, that isn't me. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

See I had the people show up at my house the other day. They had signs and were yelling, "Occupy Opinion8d1... No More Ads!"

It was the craziest thing. There were kids of all ages out there, from grannies to grandbabies, all shapes and sizes, beliefs and non-beliefs alike. They were adamant... ‘We Want Content… DUMP the Ads!’

So ok, I did it. No More Ads...

Happy Veteran’s Day… to Everyone!

This is an interesting day for me. I didn’t serve and really don’t know people who did. Truth be told, I am not a big fan of war. I am not shy about saying so either. It’s seems so violent. So senseless. But what I DO believe in, is America’s Veterans, our heroes, those who fought and gave up a huge part of their life, not just fighting, going without food, water, and medical treatment as they fought and were hunted, all so that we could have the freedom that we, as Americans, so value. I deeply care about any person who has given so much of their lives, those who survived and for those who gave their life… for a purpose they believed in. No man, walks out of a war unscathed.

So what is a Veteran? Until I sat down and thought about it, I’ve always have this image of a much older man with graying hair, who fought in World War II, or Korea, and even those known as the forgotten heroes who fought in Vietnam. Even the image if a Veteran has changed over time… the evolution of the war hero, from the fight, to the return home.

Today, as we celebrate Veteran’s day, the image of the Veteran has once again changed. Maybe not in our beliefs as the picture we have locked in our minds eye still reflects the gentlemanly grandfather type, sitting in his chair, surrounding by grandchildren, smoking his pipe as he tells stories of bravery.

Veterans are no longer old and gray; they are men, young and old. They are not only men, but are also women: Christian, and Jewish, with fair skin or dark skin, all different colors and creeds, and even sexual orientation… these are the heroes that make up today’s veterans.

But at the root of all these Veterans come something in common. Although they are all made up of many different forms of beliefs, what you see inside every one of them… is Faith. And it was their Faith that chose to fight a war for you, and for your little place of freedom that you call, HOME. And yet there are still so many prejudices against those men and women because of some ill-conceived image they still hold… prejudices.

Today, even if for just one day, for one small moment... set aside everything you may believe in… and THANK those people, any person, and all people who are full of different religions, colors, lifestyles, and beliefs… anyone who has given something to any of the wars that have given you, even an ounce, of your freedom.

Happy Veteran’s Day… to everyone!

I think a lot of people have lost faith these days. It’s a tough time and we don’t have answers and with frustrations at a monumental high, it causes us people to lash out and get angry. In other words, we lose Faith. Some even think that we have lost Hope. But what is Hope… isn’t it really Faith?

It seems to me that Faith is the expression of believing in something. Anything. It’s easier to have Faith in what we see, or can hold. We have Faith in the people that we love, our communities, our parents and our children. But to have Faith in the unseen is when Faith helps guide us in finding our courage. When Faith is cranked up a notch to become Hope. See with either Faith or Hope, we really don’t have any idea of how the outcome is going to manifest itself. Is Faith going to be enough to bring us down the roads that may be dark or filled with despair?

Veteran’s day about the fighting the wars… but truly we are all fighting in one way or another. With that truth, we can all be held up as Veterans at one time or another. I don’t think one soul has been able to escape the gut-wrenching fight that darkness and despair will take us through.

We honor you James Connor, for your fight. We honor you Sargent Melissa Stevens, and Terrance “Bo” Jenkins, Scott Fish, Stewart Frew and Lewis Rawlins. I could go on and on… but I think you get the idea!

I personally thank each and every person who fought for the United States of America and for the freedom for my and for my children. Happy Veteran’s Day.

Like Janice who is struggling today with another round of chemo. Janice and those people around her have to have both Faith and Hope… because Faith alone may only be enough to take her to the present moment, where Hope… now that is when we have Courage to not only accept the darkness and the despair we might face, but it was the Hope that truly brings us through that long tunnel… out to the other side, where the sunlight softly shines down upon her face.

Please take a moment and say a prayer for Janice.. and for all of those Veterans who have fought another war… in sickness. To those who have both won, and lost. We honor your strength, your Faith, and most of all, your Hope.
