Robin van Persie frustrated against Denmark !

2012-06-09T16:47:00.001-07:00

Netherlands striker Robin Van Persie had a dreadful evening in Kharkiv, as chance after chance literally slipped away for him on the wet grass of Metalist Stadium.

He was frustrated by poor aim, a weak first touch or by Denmark goalkeeper Stephan Andersen, who unlike the Dutchman had a flawless game Saturday.

Robin van Persie will be Holland's lone true striker against Denmark.

2012-06-09T06:04:00.001-07:00

Van Persie is not exactly shy when it comes to goal scoring, and this season managed to find the back of the net 37 times -- setting a personal record -- and winning the scorer crown in the Premier League with 30 goals.

2012-06-08T13:57:00.001-07:00

Czechs boosted by Rosicky return ahead of Russia clash !

2012-06-08T07:59:00.001-07:00

After arriving at their base in Wroclaw and settling in to their 5 star surroundings, good news immediately arrived: Tomas Rosicky would be fit enough to play against Russia. That, combined with healthy turnouts by the locals to Czech training sessions at the Stadion Oporowska and a relaxed atmosphere around the camp has led to some positives.
The very probable inclusion of the Arsenal man and talismanic captain of the national team should not be underestimated as he is very much the glue that binds the attacking phases together.

ARSENAL TRANSFER RUMOURS: Giroud, Holtby, Bendtner, Rondon, Yilmaz !

2012-06-07T15:24:00.001-07:00

All at the Emirates remain hopeful that Robin van Persie will still be running out in an Arsenal shirt next season.Given Wenger's penchant for recruiting talent from France, it has long been thought that last season's Ligue 1 joint-top scorer Olivier Giroud sits top of Arsenal's wanted list. The Montpellier striker's future will not be decided until after Euro 2012. If Arsenal do miss out on Giroud--though, unlikely to be to QPR--Wenger could move instead for Venezuelan Salomon Rondon.Rondon, 22, could be a useful signing given that, with his robust style, he would offer something different to Arsenal's frontline. Thought to be on the lookout for a new midfielder, Wenger could do a lot worse than take a look at Lewis Holtby. He is a huge admirer of the Gunners.

'Robin van Persie has enjoyed an amazing year and possesses a very dangerous talent in front of goal,' said davids, who also played for Barcelona and Tottenham.

'It's no coincidence he has enjoyed really good health this season and if he brings his skills to the Dutch side they can go a long way in the tournament, especially as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has also been in terrific goalscoring shape this year.'

Arsenal's 2011-12 End-of-Season Awards !

2012-06-06T14:47:00.001-07:00

Arsenal secured a third-place finish in the English Premier League, but the Gunners didn’t fare too well in other competitions football had to offer in the 2011-12 season.
The Carling Cup adventure ended in the quarterfinals, they managed to reach the Fifth Round of the FA Cup and they bowed out of the Champions League in the first knockout stage.
At the end of each season, I'll will publish a list of personal awards for the Gunners in recognition of their output to the team's cause in that campaign.

Ivan Gazidis expects Arsenal to sign quality not quantity this summer !

2012-06-06T13:10:00.001-07:00

The Arsenal chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, has described the capture of Lukas Podolski as critical and suggested that the club would have a quiet summer on the transfer market, with the quality of new signings holding sway over the quantity.
Gazidis said little about the future of Robin van Persie, apart from there being an agreement in place to keep all of the discussions private until there was something to announce. There is nothing to say at present and there is unlikely to be while the striker competes at Euro 2012 with Holland.

Reach for the starts: Walcott plans to play his way off the subs' bench !

2012-06-06T09:14:00.001-07:00

Theo Walcott is convinced he can force his way into England’s Euro 2012 starting line-up.
Arsenal winger Walcott was an automatic choice through the qualifying campaign under then-manager Fabio Capello but has only been a substitute for the first two games under Roy Hodgson, the Italian's successor.
It would appear that the new England boss is preparing to go for safety first this summer and opt for James Milner rather than Walcott on the right side of midfield.
But Walcott is refusing to give up on starting against France in the Group D opener next Monday.

Arsenal's Van Persie not ruling out Juventus !

2012-06-05T15:24:00.002-07:00

Robin van Persie has not ruled out a move to Juventus who are ready to battle with Manchester City for the Arsenal captain.Van Persie is out of contract at the Emirates in 12 months' time and has agreed to not speak about his plans for next season until after the European Championship finals.
But the Dutch hitman praised Italian champions Juventus, telling Italian website Tuttosport: "Juve? They are a great team, of course.
"I agreed not to discuss my future with Arsenal. I can only say that my intention is to play in the European Championship. And then go on to win the Champions League."

Will Koscielny convince M'Vila to join Arsenal ?

2012-06-05T15:06:00.003-07:00

Arsenal center-back Laurent Koscielny has admitted the fact that he would love to see his fellow countryman Yann M’Vila join him at Arsenal amidst rumours linking the two parties.
I don’t know what plans the club have in terms of signings, Koscielny told I only see what appears in the newspapers because Wenger tells us nothing about that. But I would like one of my French team-mates to join us for next season.
Yann is a player with enormous quality. He is strong on the ball and has great vision.
He can triumph in an important competition like the Premier League.
I will try to convince him to come when we are together at the Euros.

Andre Santos unsure if Van Persie will stay at Arsenal

2012-06-05T13:02:00.003-07:00

He's amazing, Santos told....Besides being a great person, he is also one of my best friends at Arsenal. He is a guy who has given me full support. He is very intelligent on the pitch. He smashed the Premier League. It helped Arsenal get to where we are, in the Champions League spots, and I have no doubt that he will be one of the stars of Euro 2012.He has been at the club eight years and this was his best season. He is currently fully focused on the Euros and then, after, he can talk about whether he wants to stay with Arsenal.

New Player Ignasi Miquel !

2012-06-05T07:20:00.005-07:00

Nobody expected the young Spaniard to be thrust into the limelight so soon, least of all the humble 19-year-old himself, who has dealt with the responsibility well.Ignasi was handed an unexpected league debut in Arsenal's early-season defeat to Liverpool at Emirates Stadium, replacing the injured Laurent Koscielny early in the game. The Gunners may have lost, but the Spanish defender kept Andy Carroll quiet for the entire match.

And Van Persie's wife Bouchra, along with his mother Jose, are keen to see him remain in London.
