On 27th Sept. 1998, 13 years before, when two Stanford University students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, got together and make company that would change the face of Internet.
Now Google enters 13th years of their journey and contributes more than 90 per cent of total search share in search engine market, according to internet statistics firm StatCounter.
Also Google’s Chrome browser contributes 22 per cent of global market, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer had 42.5 per cent and Mozilla’s Firefox had 28 per cent. Also Google’s Android OS becomes more popular in Smartphones market.
As its 13th birthday, Google has Doodled itself a photograph that shows Google’s 13th birthday celebrations.
In this photograph, there is cake on the table with 13 candles on it, Google logo seats around the table with beautiful party hats and also gifts and balloons adds the celebration moments.
Google celebrating their birthday on 27th September from 2005, before 2005 Google celebrate their birthday on 7th Sept. when the company was incorporated.In 2005 Google changed the date to September 27 to make it coincide with the announcement of the record number of pages that the search engine was indexing.
Google Doodle gain great popularity over past few years and Google Engineer has put out their skill in creating such Doodles for news events, civic milestones, important dates in history, birthdays, death anniversary, and also independence days.
Google estimates that they have created more than 900 Doodles since 1998, with 270 of them running in 2010, about 200 in 2011.

Facebook moves to Secure Social Network | Moving to HTTPS on 1st Oct.

As Google plus launched Globally, Facebook making changes for competing with Google plus. First they changes photo size bigger from 720 pixels to 960 pixels and make them load faster than before. Also photo uploaded to our profile will be displayed in high resolution. Then Facebook changes in friends list, make it into three improvements: 1. Smart lists, 2. Close Friends or Acquaintances lists and last one is 3. Better suggestions. Facebook also later introduces Subscribe button. Also Facebook introduces new News Feeds with Top Story, so it will help us whenever we come, we got fresh news.
They recently introduce “timeline”, so you can save your profile with timeline and also you can add timeline to your apps.
Now they add one more feature to their social sites, they now add secure browsing for every users. Before this they introduced secure browsing and many of Facebook users use that facility. And also introduces secure canvas url and secure tab url fields in the Developer App for the developer to provide their app over HTTPS connection.
As they making Facebook more stronger and secure, they get some transition between old Facebook authentication and HTTP to OAuth 2.0 and HTTPS. OAuth 2.0 is Open Standard co-authored with Yahoo, Google, Twitter and others. Because of huge numbers of apps using legal Facebook auth system, so they make decision to developers to make their apps HTTPS friendly till 1st Oct. This is because Facebook applications accidently leaking access third parties. Now the developers need their apps to pass from OAuth 2.0. So if your app is not support HTTPS browsing then Fan Pages related to your apps will be disappeared. In order for developers to be compliant with Facebook's platform update each developer will essentially be required to deliver content via SSL. That means that each developer's server will need to be SSL equipped.
So you need to make your apps HTTPS friendly, I will post about How to make your app HTTPS supported.

Google doodle honours 75th Birthday of Muppet creator Jim Henson with interactive Muppets

Google is celebrating 75th of birthday of great American puppeteer also well known as the creator of The Muppets, Jim Henson. As puppeteer, Henson performed in various TV serials, in Movies (such as “The Muppet Movie”) and also completed some advanced projects such as “Fraggle Rock”. He was also an Oscar-Nominated film director, also wins Emmy Award as TV producer, and the founder of The Jim Henson company, the Jim Henson Foundation and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
Google design beautiful doodles for Jim Henson and also tweeted on twitter as “Become a digital puppeteer today and tomorrow with our homepage tribute to Jim Henson!”

Jim Henson’s birthday is on Saturday, 24th Sept but Google started its party early on Friday night. The Doodle is make with six different characters designed by Jim Henson Digital Puppetry Studio and then hand over to Google Design Engineer, and bring it to us as Google Doodle.

Each colourful creature of Doodle sits over atop a small hand, press it and the the character will follow your Mouse movements. Clicking on character will make them like they talking. Actually, The characters of Doodle were designed by Henson’s company and modelled into Digital puppetry by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop and then hand over to Google. The character at the second from left will through it’s spectacles as it will mouse over many times, as in following image.

"It's so fitting since Jim was such a prolific doodler," Mel Horan, art director at the Jim Henson Company, said in a video (below) about the doodle project. "His creative process began with a single doodle and evolved into these amazing characters he brought to life. We tried to capture that and merge it with Google's logo."

Google launches Plus for everyone | Now No invite,No problem |google plus goes public

After waiting for 12 weeks, Google finally opens its door for Google Plus project to everyone. Now Google finally takes part in competition with social networking mainly with Facebook. Google said in it’s blog on Tuesday that it will open for everyone to join Google Plus. Before that the service is only available by invitation, though it got easier to join in recent weeks. Now you can also use Google+ for searching for people and also relevant post, Just type what you are looking for into google plus search box and you got result on people and relevant posts.

Google also made Plus’s ‘Hangout’ feature – which allows users video chat with multiple people at same time - available on smartphones with font facing camera. This feature currently available for Android OS supported phones only and Google says it will also available for Apple devices shortly.

Also Google starts new service “Hangouts on Air”, this service lets users to broadcast their videos on the air or view those videos as spectators.
The setup for “Hangouts on Air” is easy, just go as you go in normal “Hangout” then you see option as broadcast or record your session. Once you “Hangouts on Air”, up to nine others can join your “Hangouts”,and anyone can watch your live broadcast. Google also adds that this is available for limited numbers of broadcasters, but any member of Google+ community can tune in. The first “On Air Hangout” will be with will.i.am on Wednesday night, 21 Sept.

As we know Google changed the look of their all products and I posted in my previous post about changing the look of Gmail.Now the turn of blogger,Google changed look of blogger as the other products.The new look of blogger is amazing experience.In new update of blogger,on dashboard page you see your blog page views and your reading lists of blog.In new blogger, whether you are on dashboard or setting page,you can create new post just by one click on the top left side of the page.And further more,the post editor has been expanded and simplified to give us larger canvas page for drafting and previewing your work.

In new blogger,our editing work is minimized by updating all features,that is very necessary for bloggers.They changed post editor.see bellow in pic.

Firefox 6 gives Location-Aware Browsing

New Firefox 6 gives us Location-Aware,when we are browsing through it.
Firefox can tell websites where you're located so you can find info that's more relevant and more useful and it's totally done in a way that totally respects our privacy.

* What is Location-Aware browsing ?
Websites that use location-aware browsing will ask where you are in order to bring you more relevant information, or to save you time while searching.

* How does it works ?
When you visit a location-aware website, Firefox will ask you if you want to share your location.

If you consent, Firefox gathers information about nearby wireless access points and your computer’s IP address. Then Firefox sends this information to the default geolocation service provider, Google Location Services, to get an estimate of your location. That location estimate is then shared with the requesting website.
If you say that you do not consent, Firefox will not do anything.

You can disable Location-Aware Browsing Permanently just by following way:

In the URL bar, type about:config
Type geo.enabled
Double click on the geo.enabled preference
Location-Aware Browsing is now disabled.
