Even during those moments when you're frail or unsure of yourself and what you'll actually do next.

with strength, with a loving purpose, with a sense of direction, with a dozen hugs and a million baby kisses on your cheeks to dry your tears.

It spans the distance by building magical bridges that will never be destroyed by any calamity.

Love is timeless...

It's knowing that SOMEONE out there is for me, for you and for everyone else regardless of race, gender, color, religion, political affiliation, marital status, creed, and more.

Histamine Food Intolerance is NOT a Food Allergy: So What Really Happens Within?

Do you know what fear is? It's like when you're alone and you suddenly get this severe pain in your tummy a few hours after eating a full meal. It's not appendicitis since the pain is not localized in one portion of your stomach, and there is no fever and vomiting. But you suspect it was something related to food intolerance or food allergy. You're just not so sure.

You want to scream for help. But all you could do is hug your belly, wince in pain, and sort of feel like a zombie as you drag your feet - moving from the kitchen towards your room. Beads of perspiration trickle down your cheeks. Even simply turning on your computer (so you could immediately ask for help from friends) felt like it was an arduous task to do. Every small action felt like such a huge effort.

That happened to me a few days ago. :(

Thankfully, my TFD (The Filipino Diaspora) friend, Sol (a.k.a Solidadah) was there online in case I needed someone to call for help.

After the most frightening and painful moments, the actual nightmare ended. Thank goodness! But there was still a nagging Q that played in my mind. I wondered why I had severe stomach pains when, typically, I know I would have a throbbing pain in one portion of my head a few hours after a meal. It's not your regular migraine attack. This one would actually last for hours or even days. And, normally, I would just wait it out... Hoping against hope that the hours will pass by faster and the pain would soon subside.

I've read in countless books before that, often, pains are related to what we put in our mouth.

And so, naturally, I knew I had to do more research on what is really going on with my body when food intolerance or food allergy strikes. Well is it really similar in nature? Hmmm...

While that Q played in my mind, thankfully, I was able to find three informative youtube videos originally uploaded by NaturallyV. These three videos thoroughly explains what everyone needs to know about food allergy and food intolerance, and shows their differences. It also particularly discusses histamine intolerance which affects every tissue in the body.

The videos are a bit lengthy but if you really really want to know more about this, feel free to check them out.

The information on the videos states that this was recorded live last March 13, 2010. In the videos, Dr. Marcus Laux, N.D. talks thoroughly about, "Food Intolerance: Revealing the Hidden Epidemic."

Whitney Houston: We Shall Miss You! RIP...

Whitney Houston passed away at 48 years old... such a sad sudden end for this pop diva.

She has very strong vocal chords. Her lyrics span the distance and embrace the hearts of many. Most people (especially my sisters) look up to her and see the lights, the glory, the happiness. However, perhaps unbeknownst to many, her real life may have probably been a little dim from what many thought it was...

I've heard some of her songs and I can say that - most of the time (from what I've seen) - Whitney Houston's voice is truly a gift...

Here is one of her performances with Mariah Carey that I like.

Most of her fans around the world can still hear her sing... but there wouldn't be live performances anymore for them to attend.

I was actually shocked when I saw the news. Allow me to show you...

In the Life of a Writer: Finding the Best Writer's Store

Writers who had been in the field for quite some time and had earned recognition from their work truly understand the importance of finding the best Writers Store for their needs.

I remember those days, earlier in my career, when I wanted so much to learn but I didn't know where to start looking for the information that I needed. Just like most beginners, I would merely do my own research on things.

Learning was more like hit and miss.

Nowadays, though, searching for pertinent information is merely done with the click of a mouse. In fact, I've found this neat site with products such as the "Master Writer for Creative Writers" for Windows or Macintosh which, for me, can be considered to be one of the must-haves of any writer who wishes to learn the ropes and be among the best. It helps with ideas, and presents the writer with a wide collection of writing tools.

There are also numerous Self Publishing and Publishers Books offered for those looking into publishing their own masterpiece.

How to Know if Your Job is the ONE for You: The Job That Matters Most

A question that had been asked of me lately by some of my friends is how to know if your job is the ONE for you. The first time I heard that, I couldn't help but smile.

Why?

First, it seemed the line is heavily dripping with romantic innuendos since one's profession is likened to a person you would like to be with forever. And, second, with the way things are going at the blogosphere, and also in the bustling offline corporate world, fast changes are deemed to happen everywhere you turn. That means there is a huge chance that some would move from one job to another in the speed of light.

When that happens, I guess that there are times a lot of people out there would, perhaps, have moments when they would think if they're stuck at a dead end with their chosen profession or if they are really pursuing their passion.

So that one-million-dollar question then would be: Should you stay at your current type of work or not?

For me, to answer that, there would have to be certain reasons why someone would opt for one choice and ditch the other.

The reasons?

One: I need the money.

Gone are the days that men rule the corporate world and women stay at home to take care of the household. Now, both scratch their way up to the top. Money is usually the SOLE reason that drives them to either go for their dream job or settle for a more profitable position even though it is not in line with what they really wanted to do in life.

Two: I really want to reach my dream.

Now while there are those who are money-centered when it comes to pushing hard towards one's goals, there are also those simple folks who are principled-centered people. Most of them do not really care how much money they would initially earn because they know the money would eventually follow when they pursue their heart's desire. Typically, they go against the odds and take the road less traveled. They pursue their dreams to a T regardless of what others tell them. Most of them succeed because they work at it day and night. Their intense focus is truly remarkable.

While you're thinking of the reasons that guide you, perhaps checking out various positions in helpful sites may help you decide on what to do.

One of the most trustworthy sites may be the WorkTree. I've checked the site and saw that they offer 14 free job guides upon signing up.

It's like a one-stop shop for various professions that may or may not appeal to your individual tastes. You may find a goldmine or two. But right after finding that, the next step, of course, would be up to you. Both or either of the two reasons I've mentioned above may dictate your choice. That's why it is truly imperative that you know where your inner reasons fall in the first place.

How to know if your job is the one that's truly meant for you? As I said, contemplating on what really moves you, what totally drives you, or what pushes you to move forward will help you understand that. Happy job searching! I'll see you next post. ;-)

Best Movies to Watch This February When the Urge Strikes

Your list of things-to-do for the heart's month of February shouldn't fail to include some of the best movies to watch. Whether you're romantically attached to someone or not, or you merely need to be alone or spend the time with friends and close family members, a pleasurable moment watching interesting films may be all you need to banish away the day's doldrums.

That's actually what I do when there are no available books on hand that I can grab whenever I need a "ME-Time" or when I simply want to spend the day with loved ones.

For this month of February, here are two top choices that I'm sharing with you that I might also have to check out myself.

This Russian-American sci-fi thriller is another movie that you shouldn't miss to see this month. The story revolves around two young men who went to Moscow to sell their software. While enjoying the night with women friends, their lives drastically changed when invisible aliens came to destroy everything that came in its way.

Excited to see these two best movies to watch for this month? I guess you are. Lemme grab my mug of coffee first and I'll follow you. Right after the films, I can always bury my head in a book or get mesmerized by the computer screen while doing research or getting in touch with friends. How to Make Effective Decisions in Life: Rock... Paper... Scissors?

How to make effective decisions in life? Hmmm...

Hi to everyone! Mood check today? Well, you would know I'm lying if I would tell you that everything is truly all right today. However, don't get me wrong. I'm not really immersed in this pull-me-down-and-let-me-stay-there feeling, which would also relate to being depressive and all. I'm just in between choices; juggling the decision on whether to keep, to move on or to move away.

Moments like this, I am itching to grab someone and say, "Help me make decisions like an adult. Let's play the rock-paper-scissors game!" lol! ;-)

Humorous as that may seem, if you noticed - well, whatever age you're in - you seem to go through that rock-paper-scissors pattern when you are hoping to learn how to make effective decisions in life.

How did I see this way of making decisions?

Well, it's not really a way of putting three choices and playing the game - trying to see what is most feasible and most objective to follow in order for it to be the best for all. Rather, for me, I see it as that normal pattern of going through the strife until you finally reached a decision.

Confused? All right. Allow me to show you. Here's my take on this:

Rock - Symbolizes: The problem at hand.

This is when people gather all the possible solutions. It's when you do a brainstorming session. In that session, even ideas that others think are really crazy and not feasible may actually be mentioned. Anything goes, so to speak.

Paper - Symbolizes: Finding one's self; finding that which is really important.

Lots of solutions are presented during this stage in order to help solve a problem. As we all know, physically, the paper is somehow lighter than a rock. For me, this stage shows that the person who has a problem still feels weak and confused, and - more or less - fearful. Most probably, it may also be that the mentally-burdened person would nurse a host of doubts and worries. So, in effect, he or she won't make any decisions yet. Normally, that person would just choose to weigh things and allow the problem to reach its boiling point.

Scissors - Symbolizes: Crunch time; sifting through all that clutter, and finding the gems hidden underneath all that mental garbage.

This stage, for me, is when we make those hard and painful decisions. We cut one idea and settle for another. Sadly, there are times we make mistakes when we are in this final stage of solving problems. Other times, this stage actually fortifies the solution and makes us realize that it is indeed the best decision we could ever muster. And we just go for it - without regrets.

So you see? We really go through a rock-paper-scissors pattern when we try to learn how to make effective decisions in life. And, right now, if you must know, while writing this, I have managed to reach the scissors part... lol! Thanks for listening. I'll see you next post! ;-)

Happy Chinese New Year to Everyone!

I woke up a few hours ago and I nearly forgot that it's Chinese New Year today. ;-) Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year 2012 to everyone! I do hope you are all having a grand time.

You may probably hear others saying, "Kung Hei Fat Choi!" instead of "Happy Chinese New Year!"

What does that mean? Well, I've asked my Chinese friends. And here's what I've learned.

"Kung Hei Fat Choi," in Chinese, means "May Prosperity Be With You!" You may also choose to say "Gong Xi Fa Cai!" since these words also mean the same thing.

To say Happy New Year, other expressions you can use may include "Sun Nean Fai Lok!" or "Xin Nain Kuai Le!"

Now, I'm still a bit dizzy. So, you may have to excuse me for nearly forgetting this special event when I woke up this morning. Sometimes, when you're physically bruised, and the pain can be so severe (especially at night when you're trying so hard to get some shut-eye), waking up in a dazed fashion can be an automatic response. lol!

So, what's there to do? What's in store?

A couple of my (Chinese and non-Chinese) friends shared what they are going to do today.

Here are some of their activities:

One: Have a personal reading for 10 to 30 minutes for a $1. Why? It beats not being prepared for those good things to happen. While I'm kinda skeptical when it comes to these things, I have to admit, I am also highly intrigued. Nevertheless, with my present physically-bruised condition (from a recent fall), I may have to pass. My friends, though, would really make a go for this since they say there's no harm in learning a good thing or two.

Two: Double your chances of earning more. Now, there are so many opportunities online regarding this one, and a friend of mine has stumbled upon a certain one that she is thrilled to try out for now. While I'm solely sticking to writing and editing as a means of earning, I may have to research on that site she's practically raving about where she gets some cash unclaimed for free.

Three: Get yourself prepared for other thrilling activities like watching the dragon dance, buying Chinese delicacies like tikoy, and others.

Four: Other Chinese New Year traditions may also include keeping one's surroundings neat and clean. Clean your surroundings for good luck and prosperity. Now, for this one, I would highly go for this... not merely because good tidings would come but because it's simply nicer to have a clean and orderly surrounding. Besides, it helps me concentrate on other tasks instead of always getting distracted by the mess around me.

Five: Just enjoy the day with your loved ones! Revel in the presence of loved ones. Dine together. Forgive those who may have hurt you. And simply enjoy the festivities.

Sooooo fab, right? As you can see, my ink and quill's still there. ;-)

Yup, I just can't contain my bliss. Why? Well, it's been awhile since I had this blog up and running. I've added posts here and there in a sporadic manner. But, I've not entirely mastered all the dizzying tips and tricks regarding design and all.

That's why I am so thankful to one of the members of the TFD (The Filipino Diaspora) family, JC Pineda (a.k.a. Culprit Pontiff) who took time to lend a hand in fixing my header and designing my blog pic and favicon. He designed it last night and sent the files to me via email. And I really appreciate his help. Aren't his designs just fab? I really love it!

That's right! It's definitely a blogging opportunity that may appeal to you. If you're a blogger/writer like me, certain opportunities for earning more are too good to pass.

Youtube Videos That Inspire Me

Procrastination, sloth, lack of motivation, a cluttered mind, inactivity, a dwindling sense of passion in one's work, writer's block... To a writer, all of these things spell one ugly word - STRESS.

We go through that, we move through it, and there are times, when - by your own choice or by other's incessant prodding - we (are forced to) embrace it. Stress is such an ugly word that we would rather paint the villains in the stories with. But us? Yes, I hear you, we would rather do without it.

So what could I actually tell you to do whenever you're facing the same thing?

Watch a good video.

Now, don't look at me and say, "Duh?! Why would I even want to waste my precious time watching a video, SittieCates? Isn't that going to add to the stress that I'm already feeling?"

Ok, you've got a point. I respect that. But I've got my own views as well.

Here's mine:It's quite interesting to note what certain videos can do to your mind, your heart, and your spirit... just when you needed an inspirational or motivational thing to keep you going. In fact, if my mind is cluttered or devoid of ideas, stress is driving me crazy and I feel that fears are holding me back, I engage in the most simple of activities. I sit back, relax and watch a video. I could even enjoy the inspirational show with a hot mug of coffee in my hands. It's simply a delicious moment.

Try it.

Besides, it merely takes a few minutes of your time. ;-)

This first week of 2012 started in a delicious rush of events. I love it! ;-)

But, of course, as they say, before great things come into one's life, you should learn how to be grateful for the things that were - in more than ways than one - part of the beautiful puzzle pieces of your life's overall masterpiece.

And so, before I go on and tell you what I've been embracing these past few days, allow me to delightfully reminisce a few events that had brightened my days last year.

Of Awards And Successful Endeavors

Thank you to The PBA (The Philippine Blog Awards) 2011!

Yup! This simple blog of mine got recognized last year and was included among the Top 10 Finalists for the Personal/Diary Category Luzon Level. (This badge is also placed at the right hand corner of my blog.) It was really such an honor, and truly a joyous experience! That's why whenever I would remember this, it just makes me feel so elated! Thank you!

Of Love, Soul Mates, And Marriage...

I would love to thank the prince and the princess for airing their lovely fairy-tale wedding. It is like every girl's dream, and it sure made the headlines. The event showed everyone that true partners usually find themselves to be together once again in the end. It was definitely such a lovely event to watch because the whole world sat in awe of the beauty of the ceremony, and sighed with delight and excitement for the royal couple. Thank you for sharing this beautiful wedding to the world! I love it so much!

Of Health And Well-being

Health-wise, everyone in my circle's doing great. And, for that, I gleefully shout, "Thank you!" Why? Because that simply means that everyone has the blessing of enjoying more days ahead. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Of Family And Friends

My relatives, siblings, mom and daughter - Thank you! Sure, everyone gets a bit crazy and all, but, in the end, everyone chooses to stay and stick it out with each other. Thank you so much! You are all heaven's gifts to me.

For friendships, that's also something that I am so grateful for. The number of friends I have - from one part of the globe to the other - have dramatically increased. I feel so blessed to have these people in my life. Thank you so much!

Yup, that would be the first thing. This lovely quote (above), written by Emerson, is something that we need to include at the top of our priorities for this year. (This quote and the other images included in this post can be found at Exceptional Living.)

So what's next? Here's more to consider:

As we get busy trying to plan our days, weeks, and months, oftentimes, these goals (above) are being shifted towards the back, neglected, (and sometimes) completely forgotten. But, I think you would agree with me that these are the most important ones. Why? Because they remind you and me of the beauty and joy of life. They make things worthwhile. When we include these things among our goals for this year, I believe that we will get more things done. Doncha think so, too?

All right. I hear you. You're probably thinking, "What about the problems that may come along the way?"

Tsk... tsk... See how fear actually grips your heart and stuns you into place? Don't give in to that fear. Believe me. You won't like the outcome if you do. Sure, trials will come. But when they do, remember this quote below. This one's my favorite!

Declutter and Give Thanks: New Year's Resolutions Need Not Merely be Done at the End of the Year

I'm in between projects, and these ruminations kept entering my mind as I rush from one task to another...

Before the New Year would arrive, and embrace our lives, there are two things that I had observed most of us do.

It's like a morning ritual of some sort.

First: People think of myriad ways on how to declutter their lives.

Declutter - which, simply means elimination... eliminating things (physical garbage or those inner emotional saboteurs) that you don't really need that's hampering your growth, your success.

Beautiful! That's how it's supposed to be right?

In order to move forward, you've got to ditch that physical garbage and emotional baggage that's keeping your mental powers stagnant, letting you stay at one weedy, thorny spot.

For removing physical garbage, you summon all your physical powers and do away with bills. You organize your files and workspace. You clean your home.

For eradicating emotional and mental stress, you reassess your priorities. You write down your goals. You completely face and triumphantly beat the major culprit of hindering you towards your success - FEAR.

OK, so that is usually deeply thought about when it comes to a year-end awareness thing. Sort of like, well, since we will be embracing a NEW YEAR soon, we've got to reassess our footing on how we would like our lives to evolve.

Nice one. Motivational. A perfect move to help realign your mindset.

But why do think most of us would merely do that during the time when a new year will come?

Second: Here's another one: Giving thanks for your blessings. It's like a year-end accumulation of good things that have been blessed upon you by the heavens.

However, doncha think that most of us would only realize that they have to be grateful for those things they have received when it's a few weeks, days, hours, minutes or even a few seconds away from the dawn of the New Year? Have you read most of what others would say as they tell you about a recap of the year's best experiences?

What about a week's recap on all the good things that had happened? Or a day's recap? Engaging in it at every moment of everyday, perhaps? Wouldn't that count more?

These two things are what we usually include among our New Year's resolutions. Since it's like a habit to most of us, it is considered to be good ways in starting a new year.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for decluttering one's life and being grateful for the blessings one has received. It's just that I wonder why most of us would merely do these things when the clock starts ticking towards a New Year. Why wait for the New Year to do these resolutions? Why not do these every single day?

What are the different ways to use a PLDT Telpad? Hmmm...

I could hear the chickens of our neighbor screaming their tonsils out from time to time while thoughts of owning a PLDT Telpad gently rock my world back and forth as if I'm in a hammock of some sort.

It isn't entirely morning yet.

In fact, the world - from where I am - is still caught between the ghastly hours of midnight and dawn.

But I'm proud to say that my mind is still alert.

Now, where did I freakin' get THAT?

OK. Never mind.

I guess you catch my drift. ;-)

Anyway, why am I still up when the rest of the world is probably extolling the precious moments that they are given to relish a restful slumber - snugly tucked in beneath the sheets in their own cuarto de dormir?

Why? Because my mind's wheels are trying to process a crystal-clear, no-nonsense-tell-it-like-it-is take in answer to the question, "What are the Different Ways to Use a PLDT Telpad?" for PLDT's "Blog IT to Win IT" contest.

You see, I'm a non-techie. Anything technical scares me out of my wits. But, if it is simply explained in laymen's terms, and showed in an engaging detailed format, it becomes less threatening, less daunting.

So, if technical stuff freaks you out, too, don't worry. I'll try to keep things simple for you.

What are the different ways to use a PLDT Telpad?

This cool gadget, launched last December of 2011, comes in two sleek models: The S7 slim model and the AD 1000a.

It didn't? Good! Because mine did. ;-)

Anyway, how would you know the different ways to use this?

One: Remember: It's a phone! It acts like a normal phone that you've been used to for years. So relax. It's pretty easy for you to handle since it has a 4-point multi-touchscreen which is ultra-sensitive to touch. So if you're holding one in your hands right now, go ahead. Don't be shy. Just use your fingers - literally!

What's more, it comes with an 8 GB (gigabyte) built-in memory. Now, don't faint on me with the mere mention of that term. Puh-leeze, don't lose all your blood cells! I don't want the idea of my having to rush you to the nearby hospital even before I explain everything to you. All you need to know is that you can store a lot of phone numbers easily, and still have more memory left to store other handy features.(See "Memory" and "Touch Panel" features above for guidance.)

Picture this: It's like being with a family - a unified group that you're pretty familiar with, and whose members have been there with you since you were born. As this video below quips, It's "a landline that keeps us together" no matter what the distance is - just like what a family does.

2nd: Although it functions as a phone, it's got a whole lot of "A" points for "Attitude." Lemme make that (double) "AA" for "Awesome Attitude!" Why? Well, it's got multimedia features! (See "Input/Output" and "Cameras, Photos, Video Recording" features above for guidance.)

Since this tablet comes with a front cam, a camcorder, a built-in speaker and microphone, taking photos and videos with friends and family would be as easy as having your much-needed Zzzz's after a long day's work. You can playback your recordings and incorporate music, too, if you like. (See "Display Resolution" and "Entertainment" features above for guidance.) You can even organize PDF files and MS documents.

3rd: If you're a self-confessed online addict, you'll be deliriously happy to know that this connects you to the online world in nanoseconds! You can stay in touch with your online community through any of the social networking sites you prefer: Go ahead and tweet to your heart's desire. Go to your facebook account and chat with friends or see what's new in your News Feed. Log in to Skype.

It also keeps you in touch with other pertinent online information. Search Google for anything you need to know. Watch the online news. View your favorite music videos on youtube.

What's more, it also has gaming features. So, if you're a fan of the "Angry Birds" or other interesting games, you're in luck! ;-)

Hi there, everyone!

Latest update on me? I have my hands full with a blogging project. Not this one because this is my personal blog where I share my musings and inner sentiments with you. I'm talking about a different type of account where I get to learn more about music, what's hot and what's not, and other up-to-date information in that industry.

That's why, in lack of certain topics of interest to tell you right now (since I can hear the wheels in my head run in an excruciatingly slow motion today), I thought it would be best to share new music discoveries.

Below are two videos for new Christmas singles for 2011 that I got to work on, and that I recently fell in love with. I'm actually into rock music but these two artists have managed to leave me in awe with their new Christmas tunes that really hit the spot.

So, put on those headsets, light up some scented candles, allow yourself to sink into your favorite chair, and enjoy listening to the fresh tunes of Christmas songs recently introduced in the music industry. Getting the Most Out of Life: I'm in LOVE!

Yes, that's correct. That's definitely part of the title of this post: "I'm in LOVE!"

I know, I know.

You're probably thinking why on earth will I ever write about something so cheesy as being in love? Haven't I had enough heartaches in the past? LOL! And why would being in love be considered as one of those things that may help people in getting the most out of life? What's the connection, you ask?

Are you wondering if I've been conked on the head or something? Perhaps, it's the food that I'm savoring right this very minute while writing this. Yup, perhaps, that explains it. Because, in between mouthfuls of delicious Vietnamese Cha Gio springrolls with the Thai chili sauce for dipping, and khao pad gai (ข้าวผัดไก่) or Thai fried rice with chicken, I feel so revitalized! So kinetically charged! LOL!

Now, let's go back to where we left off.

As I was saying, I'm in love.

With whom, you ask? LOL!

OK, allow me to borrow one of the lines in the poem, "How Do I Love Thee" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861): "Let me count the ways..."

First

I'm in love with life! Gotcha! And you thought I would actually tell you about this certain person, huh? LOL! Wrong guess. :)

Sure, I've had my share of ups and downs. Who doesn't? But, why be stuck in the mud and pity myself or seek someone to pity me whenever I get hit by problems? That wouldn't even elevate one's misery. Let alone remove me from depression's sharp claws.

That's why I chose to see the world again through multi-colored glasses. It's fun because everywhere I look, I would notice this glorious burst of colors that may merely appear as normal and ordinary to the usually-busy or emotionally-depressed person.

Well, don't go looking around for that type of glasses. You won't find it at any shop. It's actually internal. You manufacture and develop it from inside. When you've successfully done that, you would be able to see the vibrant splash of colors that life has to offer you. Isn't that beautiful? Wouldn't you want to see that, too? If your answer is yes, what's stopping you from seeing it, then?

Some of my friends say, "Count your blessings." You've probably heard that, too.

OK. So, what are my blessings?

One of them is being part of the Top 10 Finalists in this year's PBA (Philippine Blog Awards) for the Personal/Diary Category - Luzon Level.

I wasn't able to bag the trophy at the awards night, but, being included among the Top 10 Finalists in Luzon was really a great honor! I was so thrilled when I learned my blog got included. See? You can see a different picture when you would choose to wear your own multi-colored glasses. You can see the beauty of each experience whether you win at the final round or not.

Everyone knows there's more to life. So, count your blessings, too, so you'll see that your life is really rich and wonderful.

Why go for the ordinary or the drab side of things? Stop for awhile. Observe. There are many colorful experiences that's happening to you right this very minute if you would only try to be more observant and aware of what's going on in your life.

Learn to appreciate what is happening before it becomes part of your past.

Second

I'm in love with writing! Always have. Always will be. It's my passion. What's yours? What drives you? Have you contemplated on that lately? Do you really know what you like to do?

For me, it's writing. Why? I'm so in love with how the words flow from my brain's inner wirings to the tips of my fingers as I tap-tap on the keys of the keyboard. It's like a synchronized romantic dance of nerve impulses, emotional desires of my heartstrings, and my own mental analysis and perspective. It's a whole lot of ME, and I love it!

Third

I'm in love with health! It's hard when someone in your closest circle gets sick. It not only drains the sick person of strength. It also drains you (even if you're not sick at all). You spend sleepless nights checking on the person's condition. You make sure that you've given the correct dosage at the appropriate schedule. You worry a lot.

See? It completely drains you, too. Soon, your health would suffer, and there would be two people who would then be ill, and in need of medical attention.

That's why it is imperative to stay healthy. Love health. Seek ways on how to gain that so no one gets sick in your circle. And you won't have any reason to worry.

So, yes, I'm in love! ♥♥♥

Go ahead. Be in love. It's the most delicious, sustaining, strengthening, emotionally-fulfilling experience that you can give yourself. It's the best gift of life. :)

In the Life of a Writer: In Love with Nicolas Cage ♥♥♥

In the life of a writer, although it's not really a necessity in one's writing profession, it's helpful to have someone whom you highly admire. Why? Because that person can be your inspiration, your burning torch, your staying-on power when you need it the most. That may be someone you know and who knows you personally. It may be a celebrity who doesn't even know your name. Or, it may be a fictional character whose story has deeply touched your heart.

For me, one of the people I deeply admire is an actor in Hollywood.

Yes, I've always been so attracted to one of Hollywood's best celebrities, Nicolas Cage. There are so many things about him that I adore.

One: His Voice And His Words

When he speaks, it is as if I am mesmerized by his verbal prowess and his gentle voice. And since I love words so much, listening to him utter them is like listening to an angel's voice sharing lyric poetry.

Two: His Being Smart

He not only looks smart, but he actually has the brains to prove it.

Because of that, he is definitely irresistible even if some of the write-ups online about him says that he is not as young as he used to be. OK, so the years in his age added up a bit. But, well, he is still good looking and (as I've already mentioned) he is, definitely, smart.

What's good looks without brains anyway? That would merely be like a hollow coconut husk without its delicious and edible "flesh" known as an endosperm.

Three: His Gentle Manner

Nicolas Cage moves in gentle ways.

He is not quick to boast about worldly things that he has amassed because of his glitzy profession. He is like the type of guy who treats ladies with respect.

That's why, for me, he has this certain irresistible charm that, I bet, could immediately light up any room he would enter.

I just wish I would be his date. :)

ESL Class: SittieCates Teaches Koreans (Part 2)

How do you say goodbye?

The clock is ticking. But it seems like my mind is as dry as the Sahara desert - completely devoid of ideas on how to simplify the manner of saying goodbye.

Perhaps, to some of you, saying farewell to someone would be extremely simple. But I guess it is because you are sure that you will be able to see that person again some other time, in the same place or in a different location.

I wish it would be easy for me, too.

But as the clock continues to tick, I feel a raw and gripping sadness within as I try to think of the best way to show my students that they have truly touched my life and, soon, it will be time for me to say my parting words to them.

In a sheer attempt to find helpful pointers on how to lessen the pain when I say my farewells, I checked out my past recordings of classes. I couldn't help but smile while watching them.

Why?

Because I realized that my students weren't merely students participating in class. They were leaders. I've noticed that as soon as the class starts and until it ends, they were teaching me a lot.

* They reminded me of the joy and humor in things. Most of them always lightened a situation with laughter.

* They taught me that past experiences can be relived and relished, and can also be a springboard of ideas related to whatever topic we were going to discuss on that day.

* And they also showed me that it's just so easy to care for people whom you merely get to talk to on the web for a few minutes. It's like I've known them for years!

The clock continues to tick. I think I can relate to the famous quote, "Parting is such sweet sorrow" in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Yes, parting is indeed such sweet sorrow. :(

I like to think I have the best of both worlds - Thailand (the place where I was born) and the Philippines (the place where I learned much about education, life, people, and where I got in touch with my roots). I thought my love for anything that's Asian would merely be for these two countries.

Growing up, I was taken to a different experience.

I was able to work for a Japanese-Filipino advertising company as part of the Advertising/Editorial Department of the firm. The work was great while it lasted.

Aside from working with the Japanese, my life also brought me to a different world as Koreans see it.

I encountered their world twice in the corporate or work aspect.

I had the pleasure of teaching Korean teenagers for a month at a not-so-distant place from my parent's dwelling. I thought that experience would have a large period there. Never to happen again. Just like most of my twisted thoughts, this didn't end with a huge period. Instead, it ended with a string of ellipses - indicating an unfinished thought, so to speak.

Early this year, I got employed at this reputable firm as an Online (ESL) Teacher. In one of my previous blog posts, I mentioned that I started out with a part time employment for the company. The funny thing was, right after I posted that information here, I was given an offer for a change of shift for the following week. And those 4 precious hours at the office turned into a hectic 8-hour shift in no time at all!

You could imagine that I had to keep up with all the abrupt changes:

* One: the adjustment in working hours.

* Two: the number of classes.

* Three: the different types of courses and classes. I started out with a handful of 1on1 classes with various courses before I was given 6 additional hapcheon (group) classes, with 4 students per class.

* And, four: My writing life had to take a backseat for the meantime.Thus, the explanation for not being able to update this often.

However, soon, I shall say adieu to the firm who entrusted me to take on a full-time responsibility for guiding Koreans of all ages and professions to further hone their skills with the English language.

As a farewell note, I dedicate this post to my students, and hereby upload their photos.

From Mondays to Fridays, 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., these students have been part of my office life.

(Note: This particular blog post will carry the photos of my students from my hapcheon (group) classes. Part 2 will carry the photos of some of my students from the 1on1 classes.)

This is my most participative class.

They compete with each other in order

to get the highest score - making the class

really lively, funny, and loaded with lots of fun.

These students are, by far, the youngest group.

They behave well and are so attentive in class.

They also participate in class discussions.

And these students below are from

various hapcheon (group) classes.

I placed them altogether here

since some of the students are usually absent.

Others misbehave and, are sometimes rude, during class.

Others listen attentively and participate

and, for this, I am truly grateful for their

efforts to do their best.

It's not easy to teach kids who are not from Thailand or the Philippines. There's a huge language barrier. But for those students of mine who try their best to attend class, listen, and participate well in class discussions, I will forever treasure the moments I have spent with you.

To those students of mine from the hapcheon classes who appreciate my efforts of teaching English, you are the ones who make my stay here at the company really worthwhile.

Love and Apples: Will There Ever be Another Apple?

An apple. ♥

Luscious, mouthwatering, fruity, and filled with all those phytochemicals to keep one healthy.

It clearly befits the saying, "An apple an day keeps the doctor away."

So, why am I writing about it, you ask?

Well, I wasn't really thinking in terms of its shiny appearance and delicious taste.

My mind is sort of in an abstract mode right now where the other neurons in one part of my brain are jumping like crazy in delicious abandon while the larger part of my brain is trying to figure out where my thought processes are trying to lead me to.

The APPLE.

It has multiple symbolical meanings that go beyond the centuries.

In olden times, it is believed that this luscious fruit is a religious symbol of good and bad. But that's not exactly what I thought of when I wrote the above title.

I was thinking in terms of love in all its various factors: Getting that once-in-a-lifetime chance, landing that dream job, having that beautiful dream home, and all those other desires of the heart that many writers like to write about.

A nagging question that has to be pondered by (almost) everyone should be: Am I getting the most of my bite of these apples of life's opportunities and blessings?

And what about that other overdone (in my opinion) connotation of the apple as a symbol of romantic love? To those who hate any insipid insinuations of the term, puke if you will and throw those apples away. To those who swoon and fall head over heels, go ahead and enjoy the plunge. Take that bite. Enjoy its enticing taste. I just hope that you looked and checked for worms first before you decided to take a bite. And to those who are continuously groping for answers on its mystery, don't you think it's time to get those answers?

Sure, it's so cheesy to think of apples as a symbol of love, of romance, of a loving couple's togetherness and bliss. I'm actually trying to avoid that notion.

Why?

Don't ask. :)

All right. Here's a brief overview on things. About apples and its romantic connotation of love, perhaps, I got the wrong apple for that one. Perhaps, I got the right one, but there was a worm there that I haven't noticed before. Question is: Will there be another apple that is rightfully intended for me to have? Will it taste the same? Will it look the same? Or shall I just keep what's left from the apple that I had and cherish its lingering taste?

Hmmm... it's more confusing when I try to analyze things with apples. Silly, ain't I?

Are you catching my drift?

I know, to most, you probably may say I'm speaking in riddles right now.

I guess it's best to stick to my notion of the apple as a form of the other desires of my heart, then - like work and other life goals.

Perhaps, it is time I get some shut-eye right now lest my sentences take on a more gibberish fashion. Ugh! How terrible that would be! hahaha...
