My humble home

2014-01-31T18:40:00.000-07:00

I just wanted to show how I live right now in the New Mexico desert.
Everything I need can be found on the iside even though it is much smaller than what people might be used to.
But there is room enough for me.

So here; a lot of photos of my White Trash Home

To be mounted

Tony Lama .. I was just looking, I promise

This is a dangerous place..

NO!!

NO!

Storm in the desert

2014-01-23T13:37:00.001-07:00

It is so windy today so the alarm just went on in the RV.

After having made the dishes, it is probably propane that blows in through the hot water tank's grille. So I spend my time in the car waiting for the whatever is wrong to correct itself.

What do I know about these things?

"It´s just a jump to the left and put the hands on the hips!"

Another day in the desert!

My everyday in the sunshine!

2014-01-20T17:38:00.001-07:00

Would I like to live where the sun always shines? Will I not get tired if there are only two seasons?

The answer is that I can never get tired of the sun.

I always wanted to try to live like so many Americans do... In a mobile home!

So now I do

I have my routines here just like in Sweden. Every morning in Sweden, the first thing I do is to watch outside the window to find how wrong the weather man has been yesterday. And yes, they are usually wrong.

Here, where the sun shines every day, the thing I check first is if the water is still frozen after another cold desert night. Sometimes it is and sometimes, the sunlight of the day has chased away the cold of the night. it's more linked to my wakening up time than to the sun

My routines consist of coffee with milk; two big cups. I chat with my oldest daughter for about 15 minutes and check emails and FB. Need to see what my cyber friends do .. Hahaha!

I usually go for a ride. Into Deming for some grocery shopping or to Mexico, Las Cruces, El Paso or I don't do a damn thing until 4:00 PM.

That's when I take Jake for a walk in the desert, where he can run around free as the wind. Jake is the wonderful dog, a German Sheppard, that I borrow for my walks and we pass by Jack, the horse who needs to be fed and get water. Horses are not my thing but he needs to be fed so why not help out with that.

Jake was found in the street of Denver and was picked up at a shelter. He is very well trained and it's a pleisure to be around him. He is probably around three years old because he plays and jumps all the time. I wonder why he was walking the streets all by himself. That's an untold story!

At 5:00 PM, the sun starts to go down very fast and the cold desert night arrives and at 5:30 PM it is both cold and dark and time to fix dinner and watch some TV. Before I got here I never played any online games besides Wordfeud but now I do. It makes pass the time and keeps my ADHD jumping around.

While I'm figuring out where I belong, if I will ever find it out, I am enjoying my slow passing everyday in the sunshine.

AdobeDeli is a strange place ...

2014-01-17T09:46:00.002-07:00

The front desk

Lady´s room

The collection of baseball caps is huge

Smokers room

Billy the Kid

You do not want to eat there.
They never seem to dust the rooms so how does the kitchen look?

And this place is to be found in nowhere land outside of Deming!

Two reasons to move around ..

2014-01-15T15:54:00.001-07:00

Only in America!

2014-01-12T09:46:00.003-07:00

I will never eat there again.. Ever!!

When you pick a pizza slice and it turns out to be applesauce and melted sugar instead of ground beef and melted cheese.
Yikes

A very sad day at the RV Ranch

2014-01-12T08:46:00.001-07:00

The day before yesterday a lady hung herself here at the RV Ranch.
She climbed the ladder on the rig and attached the rope at the top of the rig and jumped.
It´s so sad when for some reason a person only sees suicide as the only way

Palomas has a cemetery just as depressing as the rest of the city

2014-01-10T14:13:00.002-07:00

These pictures tell it all :-(

By following this road to the top of the hill, is Paloma´s cemetery to be found.
Kind of thrown out in nowhere land just like that.
No church no surrounded gates or fence.. No Nothing!

You do see the road, right?

It is almost impossible to be buried closer to the passers way than this.

Many unknown people are buried here

Very sad! No name, no date, no plastic flowers

This little boy was three days old

Carved in by hand on a piece of stone

Some graves were very well maintained and fenced in

Impossible to read the sign behind the image of Jesus.
(I guess it is Jesus)

Maybe this was planned to be the chapel. I used it as a toilet. :-)

My toilet in front of the cemetery.

What a sad city

2014-01-09T17:40:00.000-07:00

Paloma at the Mexican/US border is such a sad and poor city. No wonder they try their luck with drugs since there is absolutely no way to really earn money there.

Men waiting for ???

This hotel was built with drug money

The best restaurant in town

They paint their buildings to cheer up the boredom

The Police Station

Everything "normal life" happens behind fence

No children are playing. They are street beggers. :-(

Fenced in and built with drug money

There is only one paved street in Paloma

Some live like this

Or like this

Will there be a car to repair today?

Countless unfinished houses

Another bar

He is one lucky handyman. He works this day.

Everything is closed

Only one grocery store

Mexican Santa

Out of 10 hotels only one is opened

Someone has to live at the car dump

Whatever was planned in this building never happened

Military station

Someone has to sell tires

The "wall" protecting the border mile after mile after mile

Depressing

Line to enter the US

A border patrol agent had died

It took long time and many more inspections
of this vehicle before it was allowed to pass

In the evening Palomas, Mexico turns into a brothel

2014-01-04T17:01:00.000-07:00

and the only thing you see are cars crawling the streets and the before darkness fell non-existing girls show up.

Before this a boots polisher takes care of the boots for $2.

And the begging children have not yet left the streets

Happy 2014

St. Clair Winery

2013-12-28T15:13:00.001-07:00

Time to visit the local winery here in Deming. It seems they produce very good wines and they have become award-winning multiple times. I've never heard of them, obviously and after some wine tasting of the blends, I went with the dry white. The red was a no no..

Next time I may buy a Shiraz

Wine tasting

First time you buy the bottle containing 2,5 liters for $9,80 and the next time, you bring the bottle and pay $6,60 to fill it up.

And they sell other products as well ..

Oh no not you again 😜

Went to Palomas today to order new boots. 👍😜

Kids of all ages are begging for money all over town. They should be going to school instead!

TRESemmé

2013-12-27T09:32:00.002-07:00

Inspiration
