5 Signs You Need A Side Hustle!

Listen, I understand. It's summer! The beach (if you have one)! No School! Friends! Junk Food!
Here are MY 5 signs that you may need a summer job or a real world hobby. (TOTALLY not based on my own experience)

1.Sleeping in till Twelve

WAKE UP, SLEEPING BOOTY! Mmm...Comfy bed...Not so comfy when that morning becomes afternoon. Plus, HALF your day is gone. This is a big one for me. I LOOOVE sleeping. But I've noticed that it just doesn't feel good anymore...I always miss breakfast :/

2. Too Much Internets

Recognize this fellow? That's what YOU look like when you spend too much time watching Dr. Phil episodes on the weird part of YouTube. Pretty soon you are going to be like this gentleman and need a Forever Comfy (Nothing wrong with those...I bought my mom one for Christmas..love you mom.) I know it's hot, but go outside! Go make that thing you just pinned on Pinterest.

3. No Moneys

Here's a sensitive topic. Money. Are you borrowing money from your parents? Brother? Grandma? (What? uh me either...........) Getting a summer job isn't as bad as it seems. I know human interaction daily is constant struggle, but it could actually be good for you. You meet new people, get some cash, get active, and you're busy! Ain't nobody got time to tell you you're lazy now! HAHA! GOTCHA! Unless you are lazy at your job...don't be lazy!!

4. Depression & Self Loathing

Many people struggle with this and think it's a permanent thing. It's totes not! Stop crying about what you don't have, and start being thankful for what you DO! Life is a beautiful thing and it's what YOU make it. Doing nothing and ugly crying is not going to make your life better. You have the power be happy! If you're considered about your looks, go jogging! Be busy and active! You'll be so busy you won't even have time to think about why that guy doesn't like you....(brb gonna go cry) hahhaa. Just kidding! :)

5. Candy Crush is Your Hobby

If this is you every time you see that "SUGAR CRUSH"....Yeah..whatchu happy fo'?! Don't get me wrong, boo. I love me some Candy Crush. (Level 40) Ultimately, what are we really happy for? How is this improving our lives? If anything, I get so frustrated when I run out of lives, or can't get that STUPID JELLY TO GO AWAY.(And I refuse to buy anything!!) Sorry. The point of all this? YOU NEEDZ A HOBBY!!! If all your accomplishments come from being on level 60, it's time to dust off that poor guitar that's been sitting in the corner your room. Listen, I can actually hear it crying! Find a summer hobby and take a little break from Candy Crush (before it crushes your heart...okay I'm done) Do something that will force you to interact with real world people.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY-My Advice!

I'm bringing back Motivational Monday! I found these pictures via Tumblr.
These are my tips and insight from my own experiences!

1. Don't Take Things So Seriously.

I know you're a hard worker and you're probably working toward something that is going to benefit your life. But it is LIFE. There are so many wonderful things out there that should be worth taking the time to STOP and look at. Stop and smell the roses. Relax, and take a load off. Too much work will eventually make you into a crazed fire breathing dragon. Life will go on. Go to the beach. Go hang out with people who have fun. Break out of your routine. Do something silly. Shake your snow globe as my mom, the Crafty Chica would say!

2. Love for the Right Reasons.

Loneliness can be a major pain in the heart. But that shouldn't be the reason why you're ready to date, or love again. Love is so sacred and powerful. Loving for the wrong reasons just leaves you more wounded than before. Love yourself first. Write a list of what you deserve, and what YOU could contribute. Love isn't one sided and shouldn't be all "take take take." You'll know when you're ready.

3. Surround Yourself Wisely

Surround yourself with happy people. If anything, I've learned that happy people are so much more fun! haha I know everyone has their highs and lows. So surround yourself with someone who'll lift you up, not drag you down. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and push you to be a better you. With that, inspire them to do the same. We're all hustlin' to be the best, and instead of fighting, let's start building each other up!

Katy Perry Lashes by Elure Review!

Hey everyone! This is first of many beauty reviews! I LOVE false eyelashes. I think they're a great enhancement that'll light up your face, and eyes. (OoLaLa!) I've seen Katy Perry Lashes in Target for quite sometime now and have always been curious to try them.(They are also $6.99...) So, I built up the courage to try them and see what the hype was about. (What a tough decision...I know.) Ms. Perry's has four different lashes:

The application was super easy, considering the glue came with a tiny wand, Rather than getting it all goopy on your fingers, or cotton swab. The directions provide wonderful tips and suggestions on how to perfectly apply and fit them. This was a SUPER easy process. Usually by the end of my application process, I'm so fed up with trying to reglue...I just rip them off. haha..serious. I DREAD putting these little suckers on. Until now! Thanks Katy Perry and Eylure, I didn't want to rip these off. ;) I give these lashes FOUR out of Five Heart Flutters!!

When I was in Miami at Hispancize 2013, Target was one of the sponsors. Do you know how much I LOVEEEE Target? They had a cool dance area with a DJ spinning tunes from the Billboard Latin Music Awards and were giving away these cool glasses that look like RayBans with the Target logo on them. Also, they were nice enough to send us some for the Crafty Chica Cruise that my mom runs every year. So I got a second pair!!!!

I decided to add some crystals to my shades. It's super easy, you can do it too...

You'll need a little bit of sandpaper, Aleene's Tacky Glue, Tulip Glam It up Crystals and sunglasses! Lightly sand the top of the glasses. Add a thin bead of glue and use a crayon to add a row of crystals.

Let them set until they're dry.

Now, let's talk Latin music. My mom has been playing the CD around the house and now I'm getting hooked. Not only on the artists included, but other Latina music artists too. Some of my favorite bands are La Santa Cecelia from Los Angeles and a new artist named Matt Hunter. He's like the Spanish-language version of the Biebs! Here's a video so you can see for yourself!

Sobbing On A Glittered Floor

Hey guuuuys...It's been awhile.
These past two months have been insanely AMAZING for me!

Me speaking on a social networking panel in Miami!

I traveled Miami, Florida to speak on a panel about promoting your music on social media for *Hispanicize*, had a week home, then back on the road to California for the 7th Annual Crafty Chica Cruise. After that I had a couple of hours at home (exhausted) and the very next morning I was on the road for my great grandma Carmen's 80th birthday party in a beach house in San Diego with my family!

Exciting, right?

Well, I'm home and reality greeted me with a huge slap in the face.
Finals are next week.
I'm behind on my blog and YouTube.
Negative people whom I kept pushing out of my life return.

Ugh. I know this seems completely stupid, but all of this stress came at me full force. So what do I do?

Cry.

Haha. I literally sat on my mom's glittered floor in the art room, and sobbed. I think the main reason I did this was because I was couldn't find the fabric glue for my latest craft project. "Maya. are you reaaaally crying about fabric glue right now?" It really wasn't the fabric glue. I was unmotivated with my life. I mean, I'm freaking twenty years old. I JUST got back from speaking on a panel in BEAUTIFUL Miami. I sailed the ocean with my favorite people and sang to them. Lastly, I spent a week with my family in San Diego. I have absolutely no reason to be unhappy. But I was. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for everything God gave me. I was just unhappy with myself. I just don't know where I'm going, or what I should do. Or, if what I'm doing is the right path. How do you know if something is meant to be?

You don't.

I was so focused on what I should be doing, instead of just doing. How was I going to figure out if I'm meant for something if I don't even give my 100%? That, my friends is called self sabotage. Why do we do this? Limit ourselves on purpose? It's a mystery to me, but I'm working on it. After I sobbed on that glittered floor, I picked myself up, and got my work done. I still have a buttload of work to do, but I'm taking it one step at time. As far as figuring out what I want to do? I'm just gonna continue doing. Whatever is meant to be, will be. Das it.

Here are MY tips for motivating yourself to get up and life your life to the fullest, especially during those times when you feel like crying on a glittered floor...

1. Get it out and let yourself cry like a baby for 15 minutes, then STOP. Crying feels good at first but doesn't solve any problems, you're wasting precious time that you could be making your life better!

2. Make an action list. Start with the easiest items first, so feel good about finishing them.

3. Give yourself the opportunity to try! Instead of thinking for the easy way out, break a sweat and challenge yourself to go above and beyond than you ever have before!

So I'll end this emotional whiny rant with some pictures. Okay? <3

This TBT video is from last year's spring break. I went to the Grand Canyon for the first time!! Being an Arizonan, I figured I should probably go... So, I went with some long time friends and we had so much fun. This year's spring break I didn't get to film anything, but my friends and I went to the lake! It was so.freaking.hot. Causing us to leave early and eat In-N-Out. omg yuuuuum...double double animal style burger....

HOW TO STUD YOUR FLATS!

These are my "Tell me about it, STUD." Flats. (Clever, right?) I LOVE me some black flats, but what do you do when they get scruffed up? STUD THEM! This is a QUICK and EASY project using Liquid Fusion! Here we go!

Supplies:

Studs (7mm)
Liquid Fusion
Flats
Sand Paper
Bamboo Stick

Step One: I lightly sanded my shoes in the area I wanted to glue. Next, pour some glue into a paint tray, and with a bamboo stick, apply glue on to the back of stud.

Step Two: Place stud on to your shoe. If you're unsure of a pattern, google "Studded Flats" and you'll find some ideas! For this project I did sort of a triangle, top row=6, middle=5, and bottom=4. Play around with it!

Step Three: Wait for about an hour for them to dry. After that, wear those babies out!
