Jil Sander

2011-06-10T13:16:00.000-07:00

I always adore Jil Sander and her collections (and Raf Simons). i love her minimalism, simplicity of clothing form, color schemes and well-tailored dresses, skirts etc. But this season i fall in love with her bags, my favourite are small triangle clutches:) i've got a big collection of bags , but i miss one of Jil Sander:) Maybe one day...

Which one is your favourite?

Metro Station in Naples

Karim Rashid designed new metro station in Naples. Lots of graphics, colors and visualizations...

What do you think? Too much colorful or quite the opposite. Maybe ordinary metro stations need some revitalization?

Chanel Ginza

2011-06-06T00:11:00.000-07:00

Today i've got something special -the facade of Chanel in Ginza! :)

It is also known as the Chanel Tower and it is the first true architectural integration of LED technology into a curtain wall environment. Lighting Science Design Works collaborated closely with the architects at Peter Marino Architect throughout the engineering and project design process to ensure the design intent was met. Over 23,000 individually addressable, white monochrome LEDs was used to made this facade! The visualisations is changing all the time, even there is special one for Christmas time.

Modern Times Forever

Have you heard about 240 hours long film? 'Modern Times Forever' it's the longest film ever - it lasts 10 days! "A film about what would happen to the Stora Enso building as an architectural and ideological symbol, over the next few thousands of years if only time would affect the building.
The film was shown in Helsinki Market Square on a 40m2 LED screen, so that one could see the original building simultaneously with the building in the film. In the film the building changed all the time. The film lasted ten days, i.e. the work lasted as long as its exhibition period. This continuous exhibition period meant that the film could be watched 24 hours a day for ten days." (superflex)

The art of visual merchandising

2011-05-30T06:01:00.000-07:00

Today i've got for you LV shop. It's the best example of perfect visual merchandising.

Boutique in New York, 5th Avenue was designed by Aoki Jun. (He designed i.a. LV in Hong Kong).

The facade is covered with layers of laminated glass with checkered pattern of Louis Vuitton. From outside, the building as a whole is slightly opaque, but scenes of the interior can be glimpsed in rectangles with blurred edges. Amazing!

Street Of Design

2011-05-28T12:14:00.000-07:00

Hello guys!
I'd like to start with some report from Street Of Design in Poland. It took place on May 21th-22th in Warsaw. It was first edition of this great event and i hope not last. There were a lot of young and talented artists of jewellery, handbags, clothes and furniture. I think it was great opportunity for them to get new contacts and for me to buy new unique things:) It was very enjoyable and inspiring weekend!
