Saturday Morning Cleaning!

It is a beautiful Saturday! #giveThanks

My thoughts have been reflective of a personal growing process; hurdles and celebrations. At this very moment, there are no disappointments hanging over my head; yet, there are no projects that inspire or motivate either. #stillness

I have tried to sit in silent meditation...it is definitely too loud! In an effort to still achieve the benefits of meditation, I chose a task. I clean anything when I need to work things out, this is my REAL meditation. Today, I decided to clean my car.

My car is definitely a reflection of me! As I began to declutter, I realized I needed a process that I had to stick to...so I cleaned the back seat area (two parking spot cones taken as a prank, car deodorizer, a pencil, and receipts)-why am I missing a floor mat from the back seats? The next step was to tackle the front area...water bottles (with varying amounts of water left), change/coins every where, fast food napkins, coupons, 2 miniatures still in the gift box, event flyers, perfume, nail polish, Bed Bath and Beyond scented packets in each door, and....BEACH SAND, gravel, and some sort of dried beach grass! Not one floor mat...where did I lose them? The trunk was the last area....a half case of water bottles, an umbrella, a pink yoga mat, a straw beach hat, a forgotten insulated lunch bag, and....more BEACH SAND.

I realized there are NO hubcaps on my car and it needs to be waxed to a beautiful shine...the end product, save something to do for later! (vacuum, wash and wax, purchase a matching set of hubcaps, and floor mats)

Now I need to apply some part of this process to my life! Can't seem to remember what I was trying to work out....but my mind is CLEAR!

Getting It Right-ON the INSIDE

If we are not careful, we can be spiritually "looking good" on the outside, but far from GOD in our hearts. We can be obeying GOD by doing the right thing in the right place BUT still be flawed on the inside. **If GOD controls you on the inside, you'll be genuine on the outside. BE TRAINABLE-GOD will be your trainer!

Breathe LIFE into your DREAMS

DREAMS are real! You SEE and FEEL what hasn't happened yet. A dream is your creative VISION of life and how you want to live. Do you remember how you felt like you could do ANYTHING? When we DREAM-we have HOPE, we have DESIRE, but you will NEED to LIVE by FAITH to make the DREAM become a REALITY.
Living by FAITH will get you where you NEED to be in LIFE.

FAITH WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE POSITION!

You have to CULTIVATE your faith
You have to GROW your faith
You have to FEED your faith

Either endure your present SEASON or EXIT your present SEASON.

Proverbs 13:12-HOPE deferred will make the HEART sick; but when you DESIRE, it is a TREE of LIFE!

Being Confident: Standing with GOD

Be strong and courageous. Be not afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there is Another with us greater than [all those] with him. With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our GOD to help us and to fight our battles. -2 CHRONICLES 32:7-8

We depend on people in our lives for love, companionship, friendship, even fellowship; but they can only do what GOD allows them. Why would you depend on a person of flesh that can easily be moved out of your life instead of putting your FAITH in GOD?

Trust that people are placed in our lives for different reasons and sometimes just for a season; yet, it is to serve GOD's purpose. If they are moved in or out, trust that it should be no concern of ours. It is all in the Master's plan.

Give thanks and always appreciate those who surround us and trust that GOD knows what he is doing!

Investing in YOU begins with YOU...

Analysis (research and compare), projections (expected outcomes), ROI-Return on Investment (input and output)....We must start with us and invest in ourselves! GOD has given us all the necessary tools to be successful in ALL that we do. *What would you do if you KNEW you could NOT fail? Focus on you, after all you are created in the image, likeness of GOD-how beautiful is the product (nothing compares)!

Analysis-conduct a "self" analysis through research all areas of your life *Spiritually, Emotionally, Physically, Financially, Mentally-in any order you want, just begin to take inventory of YOU. Conduct a self inventory of where you are in life and start compiling the data!

Projections or expected outcomes...Do you want to increase your spiritual life-what does it take? Do you want to improve your health? Are you willing to make a lifestyle change to accomplish this? Do you want to tune up your finances? Are you willing to create a budget and stick to it? Are you willing to change your career or even find a second job?

ROI-return on investment now that you have created a plan of action and implemented that lifestyle change; the proof is in your growth! You have increased your Spiritual life abundantly-stronger in faith, physically you are now making time to workout and strengthen your body daily, your finances are strong and savings are increasing for retirement...the list of examples are infinite! It is about putting yourself first and taking care of YOU! *Stock options: Investing in Self (YOU)!

Learning to......"Ask for HELP!"

Challenges appear to be just that...a CHALLENGE! You observe, analyze, plan a way to solve, and then ATTEMPT to implement the plan while crossing your fingers; hoping that it will work!

People spend so much energy on decisions because they lack preparation. You would never go for an interview of a high salary job without preparing for it; you want the final deciding choice of applicants to be only ONE-and that would be YOU!

In "The Confident Woman Devotional," Meyer suggests, "Ask GOD to give you courage (p. 178)." We all need courage...you do not have to do anything alone! Have the courage to live by FAITH and the courage to TRUST your faith.

What is impossible with man is possible with God (Mark 10:27).

Teaching AIN'T for everybody! But LEARNING is...

Young minds are always directed to ponder the age old question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I am STILL trying to find out as I explore a plethora of career options.

All through high school, a focus was set on Biomedicine and my love grew from exposure to Science through my teachers. One teacher in particular was Mr. Green (Miami Central Senior High School-Rocket 4 Lyfe!!!) that I had for two years of advanced Science. We had t-shirts with the cool slogans (at least we thought-the "original geek squad") to increase awareness of animal extinction, environmental causes, and anything else deemed worthy of our support.

What type of student are you? Are you a visual learner-needing to SEE everything first or auditory learner-needing to HEAR everything? Do you prefer hands-on (kinesthetic)?You can be all of these "TYPES" at one time; just be willing to become a life long learner.

Think of your experiences and exposure as foundation building to uncover opportunities to learn; to grow. Use your knowledgeable skills and put it into practice...after all, practice does produce experts!

Being an expert is a GIFT! We all have gifts (things you do well), qualities that set you apart from everyone else. Inventory of self: What is your gift and your calling? Are you using it? My personal gift is TEACHING and my calling is working with CHILDREN...and yes, I am using it!

According to Meyer (2010), "God is not in the business of frustrating and confusing people."

Personal Reflection: Many of us just "LET" people in our life without really knowing who they are! As my sister (Tiffany Holliman) asked me, "What are your requirements in a relationship?" I thought about this briefly and fell into a deep reflective state...She went on to add, "Treat this as a hiring process-what qualities and skills do want the IDEAL candidate to possess?"

Don't just settle for the "HOOK UP" in your life-Ask GOD to give you DIVINE CONNECTIONS!
