The Bold And The Beautiful

2013-06-08T15:32:00.000-07:00

In a world filled with waxing, plucking, shaving, and sugaring, it is really quite remarkable that society has come to the agreement that thick natural brows are to be left alone! Finally, one less area of hair to painfully rip out! Check out the classic beauties below with their bold brows, some of them were keeping it au natural before it was considered beautiful.

It happened one time
It happened forever
For a short time
A place for a moment

Met Gala 2013 MY Best Dressed List

2013-05-08T21:30:00.000-07:00

I'm sure everyone has seen these Met Gala photos all over the blogosphere, but I had to post my favorite looks since they practically had me slack-jawed for a good thirty minutes at work.

Like Mother Like Daughter

2013-05-03T10:19:00.000-07:00

Even if these photos weren’t a projection of my own personal dream of growing up with a mother, or having a daughter of my own someday, I would still find this editorial to be the most charmingly adorable mother/daughter photo shoot that I have ever seen! Oh, and what a beautiful pair they are!

Model Of The Moment: Chloe Norgaard

2013-04-02T00:33:00.001-07:00

Chloe Norgaard is the ultimate free-spirit. If you are into the child-like nature of "cool girl" models like Erin Wasson, Charlotte Free, Cara Delevigne, and Alice Dellal, then you will love this chameleon of a model!

Wandering Star

It could be sweet
Like a long forgotten dream
And we don't need them to cast the fate we have
Love don't always shine thru

There's a wildness in my veins.

2013-03-26T00:58:00.000-07:00

I'll tell you 'bout a secret I've been undermining
Every little lie in this world come from dividing
Say you're my lover, say you're my homie,
Tilt my chin back slit my throat take a bath in my blood get to know me
All out of my secrets
All my enemies are turning into my teachers.
Because, lights blinding, no way dividing what's yours or mine when everything's shining
You darkness is shining my darkness is shining

Model Of The Moment: Kelly Gale

2013-03-24T13:42:00.000-07:00

This is one of the prettiest faces I have stumbled upon in a long time! And she is so naturally beautiful! Kelly Gale is half Indian and half Australian, although I think she looks more Thai than anything. I love her dark skin and wildly thick hair! How could you not be obsessed?!

Metal heart you're not worth a thing...

2013-03-13T18:12:00.000-07:00

You're losing the calling that you've been faking

And I'm not kidding

Sew your fortunes on a string

And hold them up to light

Blue smoke will take

A very violent flight

And you will be changed

Sand everything

And you will be in a very sad sad zoo.

A rebel in the night

A gazer of the stars

Her mind is maze that will trap you

She's got a seductive soul that will pull you in deep

She follows her life-line and believes in the magic of the cosmos

She is a keeper of secrets, a follower of the wind...

Blumarine Fall 2013 RTW Milan

2013-02-22T21:29:00.000-08:00

This collection was ultra feminine with the perfect balance between sophistication and sexiness. The slicked back hair is perfection and reminds me of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct. The soft color palette combined with the leather and fur complimented each other exquisitely, as the feminine colors softened the sex appeal of the leather, making for an overall polished look. Blumarine is a label that has never really caught my eye, until now, giving me good reason to start paying more attention!

Topshop Unique Fall 2013 RTW (London Fashion Week)

2013-02-20T15:46:00.000-08:00

Topshop is the epitome of London cool, and luckily they have brought their "cool-girl chic" fashions to the states. Although, Seattle has yet to get a flagship store :(. Anyhow, this collection from LFW was super chic, super modern, with a mix of both luxurious sophistication and rock-star glam. Quite the mix, but nothing represents a Brit's sense of cool better than mixing low brow fashions with high-end pieces. The messy hair and blue eyeshadow adds to the care-free "just-threw-this-together" feel. As if anyone just throws together outfits that cost more than the average person's life! I am so excited to visit London this spring and see/shop all the fashion sites!

Tom Ford Fall 2013 RTW London Fashion Week

2013-02-20T15:16:00.000-08:00

As a former New Yorker, (It's forever in our blood.) I love NYFW, but London usually comes out on top with some of the best collections...in my opinion, of course. This RTW collection from Tom Ford was over-the-top and full of energy. The rich colors and vibrant patterns paired with intricately laced gowns, furs, and luxurious bead-work, made for a decadent, but modern collection. The bright colored florals, tribal prints, and leather poncho's, were quite reminiscent of traditional South American fashion, which I love. The show as a whole, felt like a glamorous display of dress-up clothes better suited for an exhibit at the MOMA, than a person's closet. And that is not a bad thing!

Rihanna Overload...Yes, I am obsessed!

Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture

2013-01-24T15:21:00.000-08:00

As an iconic couturier, Valli always approaches his collections with Valor, as if to say "I can do as I please, for I am Giambattista." It is true, he can do as he pleases, and he so rarely makes a misstep. These dresses were dramatic, eccentric, playful, and stunning in a very classic way. In most cases, a collection is either/or, but rarely both. The A-line dresses made for a very classic, and feminine silhouette, while the short under skirts that were paired with sheer overlays made for a fresh and modern twist. The chunky gold necklaces and crowns added a wonderful theatrical feel to the gowns. One of my favorite looks was the mesh cut-out dress that he so wisely paired with matching cut-out leggings. It is a strange idea on paper, but on the runway it was a perfect showcase of his creative ingenuity!

Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture

2013-01-23T15:42:00.000-08:00

The couture collections are always the most exciting for me, as they consist of the most luxurious and extravagant dresses, dresses most of us will never ever get to wear. Watching them sway and flow down the runway and on the red carpet is as close to such gowns as we will ever get. With that said, I take my viewing of these collections very seriously! Time stops, and it is a mental escape where I envision the places I would go in such gowns, and which ones I would wear if given the opportunity. It is like a fairytale in my head, quite delusional, I know!

This collection in particular, is nothing short of breathtaking. Elie Saab never falters in his couture designs, they are a carefully balanced collection of classical, and dream-like pieces. The soft, creamy hues are elegant and poised, while the intricate lace detailing and beadwork set the fairytale-esque mood of the whole show. Even the deep red and black gowns carry with them a dream-like fantasy. Gowns like these make me thankful for being a girl, even if I will never step foot in anything so stunning!

She's a free bird.

Bob Dylan once said "No one is free, even the birds are chained to the sky." Nevertheless, we can all find something that frees us!

Etro Fall 2013 Menswear

2013-01-16T14:18:00.000-08:00

Panta rei: Everything Flows. This was the theme of Kean Etro's latest fall collection, which would seem to be the goal of any collection, right? Genghis Kean served as the main source of inspiration, and there is certainly a barbaric undercurrent that shows through each piece. The dreadlocks and heavy, tapestry-like fabrics in deep shades of red, orange, and blue, made for a very dramatic collection. If Brendan Frasier's character in Encino Man were to become quite rich, I would imagine him wearing clothes such as these!
