Nearly a mom

After coming back from Rio in May, and after a few weeks of feeling under the weather, hubs suggested for me to take a pregnancy test. Surprise surprise! We're 5 weeks pregnant! We were elated and excited, happy, over the moon, all emotions rolled into one! We went our family GP for further tests and it was confirmed I was pregnant. Syukran.... Syukran....... I was still feeling very tired, I guess it's normal. Especially I am not a young mom at 40yrs old.

Being a total geek, I downloaded numerous apps on pregnancy in my android phone. Read lots of online articles. Started folic acid intake. No pineapple, no carrying of heavy things. I did everything right. However, 2 weeks later, I started having spots. We went back to the GP and apparently it's normal. But we couldn't just sit still. I decided to go for further tests. What we discovered was, the sac inside was empty. Only God knows how devastated I was upon hearing it but we know we needed to think positive. Maybe this is a phase. 1 week later, at work, I started bleeding, I knew this was it, the end of my pregnancy. I was in pain, hubs drove me to the Gleneagles Hospital. At the hospital I was bleeding profusely, oh my goodness it was so painful. It's confirmed that I was going through miscarriage. The ER doctor in charge, Dr Liang attended to me, he was so nice and gentle but unfortunately there was nothing he could do. He spoke to my gynae and all he could do was to make me as comfortable as possible.

So, funny thing was, I was scheduled to meet with my gynae for the first time ever just a day after my miscarriage - Dr Suliza of Gleneagles, recommended by my sis in law. The next day, we went to see her. It was so funny, Dr Liang described us as the happy couple. I mean, how happy could we be, going through the miscarriage? Haha! Oh well, she did the scan and ultrasound, yup, it was confirmed I have gone through the miscarriage.

Went home, rested and life was back to normal. I'm not giving up, we'll try again. InsyaAllah, we'll have the opportunity to be parents one day...

Status change

Oh goodness.... I have not posted anything for a couple of months and suddenly I have a change in my status. Yup, I am married! I have married a truly amazing man. He's funny, smart, cute, sweet, romantic and most importantly, he loves me for who I am. I thank Allah for this gift

It's only 3 weeks after 1st Jan and already my life is going through turbulence. I just wish for a simple straight forward life. Not this crazy dramatic stuff. Sigh....

Marinis on 57, KLCC Tower 3

Time to get dressed up, as dinner is at the swanky Marinis on 57! Woohoo! It's located in 57th floor at KLCC Tower 3, you can just imagine how beautiful the view will be up there.

I made a reservation for 2, on Wednesday for dinner on Saturday. I was told that the earliest they can slot me in is at 9.30pm. Well, that's alright with me as I can enjoy a drink or two at the bar while waiting.

We arrived ay 8.30pm, went up to 57th floor and arrived at the bar via the super fast elevator. The view was Aymazing!! And the amount of beautiful people there, unbelievable! The best part about the bar - it's not smoke free! Perfect for smokers like me haha! Not so perfect for my non-smoker partner. Had a cranberry juice and my partner had a gin & tonic. What a great feeling chilling out up in the sky, with a cigarette in my hand and sipping ice cold juice.

Dinner came next. We were ushered to our table and the waiter came with the menu. As expected the price of each dish was exorbitant. I had the "Hokkaido, Pan-Fried Scallops with Cauliflower Puree and Almonds served with Herbs" for starter and the "Pan-fried Monk Fish served with Green Lentil, Capers and Citrus" for main and my partner had the "Home-Made Soup of Wild and Porcini Mushrooms with Truffle Oil and Cream" for starter and the "500 Days Grain-Fed, Marble Score 11, Master Kobe Wagyu Cuisine Grilled Sirloin, served with Garden Vegetables" for main. The beef was cooked to perfection! Juicy and tender. The monkfish was a little weird for me though but nothing wrong with the taste. Dessert was the Panna Cotta. Absolutely perfect.

After dinner, we went to the terrace to enjoy the view and for me. It was a magical night and Marinis on 57 is the perfect place to go to for a special night out!

Reflection

It's been awhile since I last posted. It's weird that I have so many things to say but when I try to put them down in writing, everything's will go blank. So what's been happening with me? After all, 2012 is about to end, so I guess this is a good time to look back and reflect. So I've changed job. I'm no longer a hotelier and now in the corporate world. Funny that this is what I've always wanted to do but now that I'm in it, I'm not exactly pleased. Call me fickle, but yeah, this is how I feel. I almost got married but in the end it didn't work out. I was devastated, of course but after a year I'm actually doing alright. It's true what people say, time heals all wounds. Been really sick a few times this year and oh boy, there were times I felt like I almost died. Back still hurts, but what the heck, I've been living with the pain almost all my life. Friendship - I'm happy to say that although my circle of friends have gone drastically smaller, the close friends I have are great. I'm blessed to have wonderful friends. Mom has been in & out of hospital and it breaks my heart to see her aging right in front of me. Deep inside I can't imagine not having her in my life. I only wish I make her comfortable & happy. Brother's now a proud father of 3! And I love those kids to bits! Zalia looks like me (that means she's damn cute!), Zikry is really handsome, apparently he looks like my dad when dad was a little kid. And Adam is so cute it's unbelievable. So I would say I am 80% happy. Which is really an achievement. Where's the other 20%? I guess it's the usual shit : I wish I have more money (so I could bring my mom on annual holidays abroad, but at the moment, it's impossible) and I wish I have my own little unit of family - husband & kids. But at the moment, I am thankful that this is as good as it gets. Syukur Alhamdulillah
