Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years

2010-05-27T14:47:00.001-07:00

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the sacrifice of so many brave men and women who have gone before us.

Let's face it - we wouldn't enjoy the many blessings we have had it not been for the courage and wisdom of great leaders in our country.

Sir Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

,Great Quotes from Great Leaders is the perfect way to celebrate this Memorial Day. It allows us to stand on the shoulders of giants - to read their words of wisdom and apply them to our own lives. It also makes a great gift to honor our veterans or to thank Dad, for his wisdom, on Father's Day.

Great Quotes from Great Leaders is a beautiful coffee table book with 160 pages, 75 photographs and over 400 quotations from great leaders. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Well done is better than well said."
Benjamin Franklin
(1706-1790)

"Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth."
George Washington
(1732-1799)

"Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today."
Abraham Lincoln
(1809-1865)

"It is better to light the candle than to curse the darkness."
Eleanor Roosevelt
(1884-1962)

"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."
Dwight Eisenhower
(1890-1969)

"Courage is fear holding on a minute longer."
General George S. Patton
(1885-1945)

"Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old by deserting their ideals. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair."
General Douglas MacArthur
(1880-1964)

No Glass Ceiling...Just Blue Sky

Mary Kay Ash was loved by her people. She was the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, and passed away recently at 83 years old. I heard her speak about 20 years ago, and at the end of her speech she was asked, "What is the key to success in business?" She didn't hesitate when she said, "Make your people feel important." She truly understood that recognition is a need we all crave; and that there are no exceptions.

Marcy Blochowiak understands this powerful principal as much as any leader I've ever met. And, most importantly, it comes from her heart. She has built a team of thousands by using a secret weapon: "Hire more women, and love them like family."

If you need a "shot of inspiration", just watch this beautiful 3 minute movie that shares some of Marcy's secretes to success. You'll love the music, the beautiful photographs and, the ideas will speak to your heart.

And feel free to forward it to friends and family; everyone needs a little shot of inspiration!

Eleanor Roosevelt said it best..."The future belongs to those who believe in the
beauty of their dreams."

Marcia Wieder, however, brings Eleanor's quote to life in her book titled: Dreams Are
Whispers from the Soul, where she challenges all of us to pursue our purpose and passion
in life. See sample content below as well as your affiliate movie link to share this
movie today. The book with the Dvd are currently on sale for $12.00.

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the
strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the
world."
~ Harriet Tubman.

What Only You Can Do

2010-05-25T08:01:00.000-07:00

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

God has a purpose for you. When He created you, He fashioned you in such a way that you could accomplish things that build His kingdom. But that’s not all. There’s more good news. Not only did He create you with the ability to accomplish great things, He also prepared specific tasks that would utilize your gifts.

Maybe it’s a person only you can reach. Maybe it’s a ministry you are supposed to start. Maybe it’s a gift of encouragement you are to lavish on hundreds and thousands of people. Look in your heart. Look around you. Ask God to open your eyes. And get busy!

Not sure what your purpose in life is? Click here for a little encouragement and a reminder that God can do great things through you.

Set yourself earnestly to discover what you are made to do, and then give yourself passionately to the doing of it.
