Did You See My Heart?

"Did you see my heart?" I thought aloud.

"Did you give it to somebody?" asked Joe.

"No… she leapt away from me," I said.

"She might have been hurt," said Joe.

"Yes — stabbed, tarnished, and wounded.
Alas, she felt misplaced, irrelevant.
Above all, she was crushed beneath my mind."

"So how do you feel, heartless?" asked Joe.

"Without her, I am numb — stoic.
I can neither love, nor be loved."

In her haste to enjoy light;

The butterfly swirled out of her cocoon

Darkness was scary, it seemed like ages

"Let me push myself out, I wont live here anymore"

There were roses outside; charming and lovely

They were fragnant, and their honey delicious

Thats what she heard, but non warned about the thorns

Out she came, her eyes on a red radiant rose

Indulged in its beauty and aura

Out of thirst, she yearned for the rose

To be loved, pampered and nourished

Her pain and sorrow will soon fade away

As she flew towards, she felt a pricking pain

Her wings are being pulled, and now her pretty wings torn

She is now caught among the thorns ..

Fear gripped her, She cannot fly anymore...

The other butteflies flying above her with pity

She looked at herself; at her deformity

And wondered "was it better inside my cocoon?

Darkness was my shade; But in light there are shadows

Will I be forever labelled as 'imperfect' ?

Or will His mercies make me whole again? ''

Cry of a seed

The seed thought ..
I am in the ground for a while now,
Broken, almost dead, ready for rebirth...
But why is that I am not sprouting?
Is there no more life left in me.?

The seed asked the earth.
Why is that I am not sprouting?
Are you not fertile enough?
The earth said with a frown..
" I am fertile and tilled on severely
But need moisture for me to bear you..

Come lets call to the thickened clouds...
Why are they not showering rain?
This longing is weary and we are barren
They called and there appeared a white one
He seemed to glee, at the cry of the seed

The cloud replied..there are thickened ones...
black and full of rain, ready to burst.
but the wind is not spreading his wings
to carry us and give your land the bliss

So they seed asked the gusty air...
Won't you bring the showery clouds
To make the land fruitful and wet?
The wind hurled and grumbled;
It is the Master who decides my way,
Call upon him..He draws yours and my path...

Feather

My childhood days

I would be the last one wishing for my childhood days not to return

Those days were used and misused like a scratch pad

Few instances were written on those papers

Few crumbled it....Few poked and scribbled

I envied at the multicolored book lying beside

My dad bought it for a price; because it was worth reading

It was admired, taken care of and often appreciated

Why shouldn’t it be? It boasted of its glittering pages

I had ideas written on my pages, the very virgin ones

Some poured out their feelings on me; evil and good

But they tore me and I rested among the garbage

Yeah.. Garbage is always discarded and never brought back

Butterfly Star

I asked God to make me a star..
To my dismay He made me a caterpillar...
I grieved looking up at the sight of stars
How glorious they were glittering and shining

My head drooped down with shame
Strange my life is, ugly and awful..
People shuddered at my sight ,moved away..
I dreaded my life and my future bleak..

I want to slowly drift into my solitude
Away from the world, noise and dreams..
I weaved my own shell; it was deformed
My shell was gleaming , I could very well fit in

I glided into the pitch dark of loneliness..
Here I am secure, safe from the reality..
Darkness was scary, silent and abandoned
Tears quenched my thirst and dreams fed me..

And in this stillness, a pain engulfed me..
A pain of change and I feel like new...
Through a ray of sunlight that shined inside
I saw the parade of colors and beauty on me..

I pushed myself out of the cocoon..
Here I am transformed to a beautiful being
I am flying now....along the horizon of skies
I am a butterfly star..gleaming and dancing...

Grassy Path..

Life is a journey and we tread through various paths..

Some paths are stony..bruising our feet..

But some very grassy, giving rest to sole...

Grass is green on these paths, flowers add colors..

Tress gives shades and fruits of every kind..

Birds tweet and there are butterflies in the air..

This is where we tend to dwell and excel..

Striving not to lose our tracks..

As we paint the picture of our life....

Grabbing all ease, warmth and wealth...

Stabbing those outgrow us, chopping shady trees..

Crushing green grass..plucking pretty flowers..

We leave scars and marks on the very path..

But these scars...they bear our tales...

And narrate to the beings who comes very after us..

I cried and I cried when I realized that

They were my dreams…without wings…sobbing…

But when I opened my cage of heart

They flew away like birds…

They were waiting for ages..

To be freed and touch new horizons

Wondering how they could fly so high…

When I saw an eagle carrying them on its wings.

Do you know the pain?
The pain which is the worst..

I am sitting on the ground, with my legs folded...
My head drooped, i can feel the pain...
The pain of small and big stones thrown on me..
It fell on my head, my chest and belly..

I wanted to look up, is these really stones..
Or is it sharp arrows from their quiver??
Oh indeed one thing I knew...
It was hurting, and I am bleeding...

They were there, a group of them...
their names were perfect, jealousy, abuse and grief..
My heart pounded, yes...words came out of my mouth..
Why me?...I don't know any of you...either you know me..

Today is my mom's birthday and there are no words to express how much I miss her. She went home to be with the Lord almost 3 years before.When she was living, I never thought, not even in my wildest imagination that I will be without my mom at a very young age itself. So I just took her role in my life as granted and never expressed my love, care, respect and affection for which I am deeply regretting . My regret is for the thoughts I had that time, procrastinating my duty to show my love and affection to my parents. I always thought a time will come, when I can repay all the love and care they showered on me. In fact, both my parents didn't wait for that, they both died much before the specified time I kept for honoring them.

This pain of mine is an intense call to every child, to honor your father and mother, no matter how old you are, where you are, what situation you are in.... As the Bible urges us in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days maybe long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you".

I know I wont get a chance again to tell my parents, how much I love them. Now in this world, when I enjoy all the blessings and comfort which God has granted me with, I give thanks to my God , for letting me had such wonderful parents. Every blessing that I have in my life, I owe to my parent's prayers and to their attitude forsaking all the luxuries and comforts for their children's sake. Honor thy parents.....
