type='html'>

I own a Galaxy Note Gt-N7000 and I always found myself moaning about my battery. So I did some digging and found out that, when less used the phone enters Deep Sleep mode whereby there is negligible battery usage. So to see how much my phone was in the Deep Sleep state, I installed CPU SPY.
It will provide you with all the details concerning to the CPU usage and most of my usage fell in the 200MHz-800MHz.

Deep Sleep Battery Saver:
The working of this app is pretty simple. All it does is put your phone to Deep Sleep state whenever you lock it and cut off the WiFi and Data connection, which helps in a lot of battery saving. It has 5 profiles in the free version.

Gentle - Deepsleep when screen off. Wake up every 30 minutes for 1 minute and then go back to sleep.

Strong - Deepsleep when screen off. Wake up every 45 minutes for 1 minute and then go back to sleep.

Balance - Deepsleep when screen off. Wake up every 60 minutes for 1 minute and then go back to sleep.

Aggressive - Deepsleep when screen off. Wake up every 120 minutes for 1 minute and then go back to sleep.

Slumberer - Deepsleep when screen off.

Con:
The only con of this app is that you cannot save battery while you are chatting and need data and/or wifi.
This week I installed the SlimWizz2 tablet ROM. Most important feature of this ROM is that its a Tablet TOUCHWIZ ROM. It is pretty fast as all of the bloatware has been removed. The ROM itself is 198mb in size compared to the conventional 700-900mb. The ROM is very fast and gives a really nice battery life. It includes- Airview(Video and Gallery), Ink effect for S-pen and Touch.

Multi Window:
Other Note JB ROMs have cascade multiwindow. SlimWizz has the multiwindow from Tab 2.

You can minimize the tiled applications, restore them, pin them just like WINDOWS

Tablet Applications:
Gmail and Messaging apps are optimized for tablet mode. The screen real estate is very nicely used and finally it gave me the feeling of a tablet.

Benchmark:
I performed a benchmark using Quadrant Standard Edition and the results were fantastic. Check it out- A whooping 4373(since all the unwanted applications have been removed).

Concluding Remarks:
I've been using this ROM for 3 days now and have loved it and planning to stay on this for a while now.
First of all,
Do not install CM10/ParanoidAndroid directly on the Stock ICS, it is sure to brick your phone.

For this you need to install a different kernel based on CM9 or AOSP.

Step 1: Rooting and Installing a different Kernel.

1. Download PC Odin from here
2. Download SpeedMod for Odin.(Its a .tar file under 10Mb)
3. Switch off phone.
4. Open PC Odin and click PDA and link the file downloaded.
5. Put phone in download mode.(Vol. down+Home+Power)
6. Press Volume up for continue.
7. Connect it to PC.
8. You'll see device added to Odin.
9. Click Start.
10. Wait till it shows pass.
11. Device is rooted and kernel has been changed.

Step 2: Installing CM10 or ParanoidAndroid

1. Download CM10 and Gapps from here.(ParanoidAndroid from here)
2. Press Volume Up + Home + Power and it will reboot into recovery mode.
3. Goto Advanced->Reboot into Recovery
4. Install zip from SD(or wherever you've placed)
5. Install CM10 zip and then gapps zip files.
6. Wipe data/factory reset.

And you finally have CM10 on your SGN N7000.

Warning: I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone, do it on your own risk. You might void your warranty.

Pebble, the watch in the limelight, has been funded more than $10 million on kickstarter.com and has broken all crowdfunding records. It is a simple e-Ink display lasting for about 7 days and gets all your notifications on your wrist. It also gives you the power to change your music and even your powerpoint slides.

As the world goes mobile, and creates problems for Zuck and Facebook, the Pebble is something to cherish about for iPad customers. As many of you know it, Pebble has a 3-axis accelerometer and connects via bluetooth. Now, Eric Migicovsky (founder and CEO of Pebble) could use it to control the iPad games.

We can play Bowling, Cricket and racing games as we do it on the Kinect.

Advantages:

1. Anywhere Kinect (Portability):

Most of us wear our watches all the time and carry our iPad everywhere. Think of a cool tuesday afternoon, you are feeling sleepy and want a mood refresher. You could pop out your iPad and play Tennis like Kinect does it. Refreshing, isn't it?

2. Cheap:

You already have an iPad, just get a Pebble and you're having fun, Kinect style.

If you don't have an iPad and are considering having a Kinect instead, check this out:

http://techgoneinsane.blogspot.in/2012/03/new-ipad-you-dont-need-ps3xbox-anymore.html?showComment=1337341161933#c8983179072189378960

I already tried my hand at disrupting the PS3/XBox sales. This was my take on the Kinect.

Apple once again has set markets standard this March 7th with the new iPad. While the competitors try to build a close competing device, there sits Apple sitting in its Coupertino headquarters setting next year's goals for the competitors while they try to complete this year's goals.

Getting my post started, why should you not buy a PS3 or XBox360 console:

Same processing power:
Now the new iPad has an A5X dual core chip backed up with quad-core graphics which (Apple says) are 4x better than the Tegra 3.
It is far more than the performance needed.

Higher resolution than your HD TV:
The new iPad comes with a RETINA display with a whooping resolution of 2048x1536. That is more than any HD TV. So, even the display is far more than needed.

All this is way higher than the quality and performance expected from a console.

Let us consider that the new iPad is at par with PS3/XBox360.

More reasons to drop your plans of buying a console:

Portability:
I like travelling. Most of us do. Going to an alienland and with creatures speaking some "#&*&*^%&^" language. It is fun. Then in the lonely bed of the Hotel Alieumph, what would you if you start missing Call Of Duty. Isn't it better to have an iPad than sitting at the side of the bed, moaning and missing your console!

You can Jailbreak your iPad:
Yeah boy! I see that grim smile on your face trying to save all the money you owe to the iPad developers and playing all the finest games for FREE.

You won't miss your console controller(if you love it a lot):
A bluetooth controller for the iPad is in the making guys.

iPad games are cheap:
By cheap, I mean dirt cheap. Average PS3 game costs between $30 to $50, while an equivalent iPad game costs between $0-$10(max.). So the minimum saving per game is $20. Assuming an average chap shops for 10 games, he saves $200-$500 (assuming he didn't jailbreak it :) ). That is the cost of another new iPad. With the money saved, you could donate me an iPad 1 or iPad 2 or the new iPad, any of the device shall be accepted.
It has a 41MP Carl Zeiss camera and it has won the "Best new mobile handset" Award at the Mobile World Congress 2012. It's the all new Nokia PureView 808.

I love the fact that this phone can get me a 9meter wide portrait of me with my girlfriend. Wouldn't it be wonderful to paint your wall with the smiles you care about with a device in your pocket!

But is the current technology scenario ready for 7728x5368 sized mammoth images.
Let's see the things gone wrong with the PureView:

Symbian Belle

Symbian OS should have been long buried into the deepest corners of the Pacific for the following reasons:
1. Too slow.
2. Developers try to avoid it.
3. Very less quality apps.
Instead if Nokia sticked to the Windows platform, it's success would have been written in stone. It would have the beauty of Windows to showcase the 41MP beast to the world.

1400mAh Battery

Common guys, is that much battery enough? Not at all!
I own a Galaxy Note which has a 2500mAh battery and I still hate that it sucks up the juice too fast. Considering that Symbian Belle is not so much resource hungry, but keeping the camera app on for a few minutes will considerably eat up the battery. And processing those huge pictures would surely require hell lot of power.

16GB internal + 32GB SD:

I don't exactly know the average image size of the PureView, but it surely is greater than 8MP images from Galaxy Note. Considering you get 12GB internal storage to use(rest is taken by the OS) and a 30GB SD makes a total of 42 GB to use. Since the phone is made considering the camera, we are doomed to keep clicking or shooting. The space doesn't seem sufficient to store those special moments you share with your friends and family.

Wish that Nokia packs the PureView technology with its Lumia range.
Anyways, that was Nokia going Insane with the Camera. Thank you guys.
Leave your opinion, share it with the world.

Philips FluidFocus Technology

Let's start this one with a question-
Do you love the camera that is with you?(I'm talking about the one you carry with yourself, the one interfaced to your cell phone.)
Most probably NO. Be it a BIGGGG NO or a SMALL NO, but it's a NO.
Possible reasons for the unsatisfied desire:
1. Clarity sucks.
It just feels too bad when the image loses the important details it needs to carry.
2. Too slow.
This is the most irritating one as people need to hold a pose or an awesome smile for too long, hurting your jaws.
3. Imperfect Auto focus.
The camera most of the times takes too long to focus on the object you desire to snap. E.g. Text on a magazine or a journal.
4. Digital Zoom:
Nobody likes digital zoom, we all want optical zooming capabilities. Digital zoom is the one in which the image loses its clarity on zooming.
Cause:
The lens used in all the cameras is made with Glass. And the problem with glass is that it's dimensions cannot be modified. So a solution already implemented in digital cameras and DSLRs is moving the lens forward or backward with a set of motors. But this isn't practically possible to implement in a cell phone due to probability issues and we don't enough battery life for playing angry birds, how can we power the motors.
Possible Solution:
A great solution Philips is working on is its FluidFocus technology. As the name suggests the technology uses fluids for lens. The lens used is made up of a liquid (similar to water, but supposedly not water) and oil and a power supply which creates a potential difference between the two liquids. To provide for great focus and zooming capabilities, the voltage is changed and as a consequence of surface tension, the curvature changes and thus changes the focus. So we can focus on a very close object or a very distant object just by changing the curvature using the potential difference.
Advantages:
1. Theoretically Infinite zooming.
2. Extremely small in size (~2.5mm).
3. Can be used in cell phones.
4. Cheap.

What is could be a really path breaking technology that could change the way we do things, change the way we approach difficulties(physical or mental). I think the technology I'm talking about will be the most disruptive of all. It could disrupt the food processing industry, the smartphone industry, the Drugs industry, and a many that I haven't yet thought of.

What could such a disruptive technology be? An iPhone to communicate across the moon? No.A 500 GBps download rate? No. Transparent/In-Air displays? No.

The Answer

What if we could decode the brain, I mean the way it carries information. The digital world we live in revolves around plain 1's and 0's. What if we could know how the organic microprocessor works, the way it carries and processes information. What if we could have a cable that could be connected to the brain and we could see what is going around the sex-infected male brains!!

But how would that help the world?

Brain Extraction

Let's start with the greedy ones. Let's assume that the great-grandfather of the greedy fellow had the location to a secret treasure which he always spoke about but never disclosed the details. That fellow could just buy a brain-connector and have direct details of the location of the golden pot. Best part, no great movies like NAKSHA(The Sunny Deol epic with scenes from Welcome To The Jungle).

Now let's fulfill the demands of the wise fellow who just wants authentic information. If we had a brain connector, 'Steve Jobs',the biography of the Tech Lord, would be written by the Lord himself and not by 'Sir Walter I-sex-son'. It wouldn't be a biography, it would become an auto-biography.

Disruption Of Food Industry

I feel like disrupting the food-processing industry for the sake of providing food for cheap for my starving black and brown brothers. I love scientists and entrepreneurs of my nation for the fact that we are the ones who provide world with the similar services/products for too less of an amount. Take the Nano car or the Akash tablet(aka Ubislate). And the most important one I learnt yesterday at IIT-B, the lens for cataract patients costed around $100 when the Americans did it, and now it is exported for $6 for profit making hospitals and $3 for non-profit ones. It was done by Aravind Eye Hospital founded by Dr.Govindappa Venkataswamy and they treat patients for free.

Let's get back to the disruption of food processing industry. Ohk! Lets say an Indian team of scientist develops a breakthorugh. They find a way to interface external chips with the human body by just slicing a piece of flesh from the part where to want to interface and inserting the God particle 'Silicon'. Now, an Afro-Indian team develops a food-processing chip which empowers us,the blacks and the browns, with the ability to eat raw food. So no need to worry about stomach ache's or food infection. And the blacks need not worry about the taste, you need to know that your lighter-shaded-counterparts have a great business of exporting world's finest spices. But the problem after the development will be that we'll be grazing grasses and hopping for raw foods, eventually fighting with sheeps and monkeys and what not!. And even if we negotiate for peace, the forests and grasslands would be full of potty. Let's not bother about that for now, as the whites haven't done anything yet, let them take care for the rest.

Minor Tweaks

For those who want minor tweaks with their body, you could go to the nearest Bengali-Baba and just insert a piece of Silicon of your choice. For those of us who are weak at remembering could get themselves interfaced (the word sounds so cool man!!Like getting an edgy tattoo) with the 'Almond Chip'. For those who want to learn dancing, join 'Shiamak Davar dance classes' and learn any genre in a day. Similar goes for the singers, the artists. And I'm sorry for the ones belonging to sports arena, the world doesn't want to see modified bodies compete.

Let's disrupt the drug industry

Hey guys, I know most of the techies don't like coding and for the electronics fellas, it's petrifying to even hear that huge 2.5 gigs application called MatLab. We've have been hearing that it's widely used over the telecom industry to process the huge amount of audio data and/or quite many other applications that don't get into my mind for the moment.Anyways, my duty for right now is to get you friends interested into MatLab.

Most of us are Sudoku lovers and with lovers I don't mean addicts though. That Japanese game is so damn involving that I haven't seen anyone leave the game halfway. It has been at least once in a while that we compete with our friends to check out who was born with the smarter genes. In this race of ego, we sometimes wish to show our smarter genes by trying to cheat, but the bloody game doesn't allow for cheating unless for a solution. So we use direct software to give a helping hand and become a partner in crime to find a unique solution. For my programmer friends, they would surely choose a long way of making a Sudoku Solver of their own. But is it worth using it?Hell no. Nobody wants to type in 81 numbers with zeros for the blank spaces. Here is where I would like to present you a Sudoku Solver built in MatLab and the best part is for you to discover in the video.

Just check is video out and hope you love it.

Hope that the makes you realize the awesomeness of MatLab.

A conventional breakfast

Consider a morning in the life of a tech geek. He wakes up late because he has been coding under the moon, goes to the dining table and takes TOI just to go through events of yesterday. What he wants is not what he gets! He wants the news from the tech world and not about the neighbors daughter who ran away last night. The daily news just has one column featuring tech news. And what if he gets an idea of an efficient code and he just wants to code it and check it.

Let us now spice up the daily breakfast a little

Let's replace the newspaper with a notebook or a tablet. Now he gets what he wants and now he can even code or do the thing he wants. He can read tech and simultaneously see what his friends and colleagues are doing.

Let's spice it up a little more

Lets stick the laptop to the dining table itself. A large display, touchscreen interface running on whichever OS you prefer, for my love for apple let's consider Macintosh. So now you have YouTube running in a window and Facebook and twitter feeds popping up in a corner. See its so good, easy and lot more productive. And you can now easily share an awesome YouTube video with your family and show them your best friends pics of his vacation.

Let's put a cherry on top

What if you could play WoW or Counter strike on the massive display with your hands!

And for the family gamers, how would it feel to play 4 player reactor on the massive display.

All of this is now true, unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show'12, Las Vegas is a massive 55 inch touchscreen surface display, and is developed by Microsoft, called the Microsoft surface 2.0. But right now it is now for our pockets though, a price of $7600.

Just for sake of stats, Surface 1.0 costs around $15000, double the cost of Surface 2.0. With time, research and growing demand we'll get better and cheaper ones in the near future.
