Camo & Pink in the Park

Finally another outfit post! I’m not gonna go into why I didn’t blog for such a long time, I guess I just didn’t feel like it for a while. But now I’m back, and planning on staying for quuiiit a while! ;)

Anyway, back to the outfit! I love the combination of camouflage print and pink, because it might not be the most obvious combi, but it just goes so well! I’m basically in love with this super cozy pink knit anyway, so you’ll definitely see it more often!

Eindelijk een nieuwe outfitpost! Ik ga er niet teveel op in waarom ik niet geblogd heb, maar ik denk dat ik er gwoon even geen zin in had. Maar nu ben ik terug, en niet van plan snel weer te gaan ;)

Anyway, terug naar de outfit! Ik ben gek van de combinatie of camouflage print en roze, omdat het misschien niet de meest voor de hand liggende combi is, maar het past zo goed samen! En ik ben zo ongeveer verliefd op deze super comfi trui, dus die ga je zeker vaker zien!

Sheer does it again! Once more we saw a lot of sheer everything on the runways for the spring/summer 2013 collections.

And I'm quite happy about it, because I love it :D

The trick is of course to make it sexy, without being slutty.

So here some inspiration from the runway, and then some nice pieces that you can add right now to your own closet ;)

'Sheer' does it again! Opnieuw zagen we veel doorschijnende stukken voorbij komen op de runway in de lente/zomer 2013 collecties.

En daar ben ik blij mee, want ik hou ervan!

De truc is natuurlijk dat het sexy is, maar stijlvol blijft.

The by now famous Kenzo tiger sweater

You've probably seen this sweater a trillion times by now, on blogs, websites, on the street, and in magazines. But I still don't get sick of it! I love this sweater, the print is so much fun and the color is amazing. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, I don't wanna risk spending so much money, and it would otherwise be quite tempting) it is completely sold out. But I just came across this awesome look alike on Romwe, so I definitely wanted to share this with you guys! And of course also some inspiration from the street, for when you decide to buy it ;)

Waarschijnlijk heb je deze trui al een triljoen keer voorbij zien komen, op blogs, websites, op straat en in magazines. Maar ik krijg er nog steeds geen genoeg van! Ik vind deze trui te gek, de print is super leuk en de kleur geweldig. Helaas (of misschien gelukkig, want ik wil niet het risico lopen zoveel geld uit te geven aan een trui, en het zou anders behoorlijk verleidelijk zijn geweest) is hij helemaal uitverkocht. Maar ik zag net een hele goede look alike op Romwe, dus die wil ik natuurlijk met jullie delen! En natuurlijk ook wat inspiratie, voor wanneer je besluit hem te kopen ;)

Unfortunately you won't be hearing a lot from me this week, I'm suuuper busy with school and this weekend my aunt and cousin will visit me, what is super nice of course!! I'm really looking forward to that, but it also means I need to work a bit harder now...

Yesterday night I came back in Segovia, after a greaaaaat weekend in Madrid!

I had such a good time with my mom and friend Ghislaine, I miss them already again :(

I also really enjoyed the city, I am thinking about moving to Madrid in September already!

Anyway, when I came home, I watched the classic movie 'Gentlemen prefer blondes'.

If anybody haven't seen it yet: you absolutely should!

Inspired by the beautiful Marilyn Monroe, I thought this quote is a good one to start the week!

Gisteravond ben ik weer aangekomen in Segovia, na een geweeeeeldig weekend in Madrid!

Het was super gezellig met mijn moeder en vriendin Ghislaine, ik mis ze nu alweer! :(

Ik heb ook erg genoten van de stad, en ik denk erover na om in september al naar Madrid te verhuizen!

Back in town

As you can see; these pictures are taken again in Spain!

So instead of my lovely sister, my crazy and fun roommate took them!

I think it’s clear that we were having a really good time, and I just couldn’t stop laughing because she kept saying what an amaaaaazing photographer she is after every picture!

I was also having a lot of fun with the skirt, I kept turning around and also the wind helped quite a bit too ;-)

So all of that resulted in these pics!

Zoals je kunt zien; deze foto’s zijn weer gemaakt in Spanje!

Dus in plaats van mijn lieve zusje, heeft mijn prettig gestoorde kamergenootje ze genomen!

Ik denk dat het wel duidelijk is dat we het heel gezellig hadden, en ik kon niet stoppen met lachen omdat ze na elke foto bleef zeggen wat een geweeeeeldige fotograaf ze is!

Ik had ook veel plezier met de rok, ik bleef rondjes draaien en de wind hielp ook wel een handje ;-)

Dus dat allemaal resulteerde in deze foto’s!

Wauw, I just got such a nice surprise!

The lovely girls of the website Socialmorphose made a 'style report' about me.

Socialmorphose is a website of two Dutch stylists, who give you free and personal style advice based on your Facebook page.

And you can definitely see that those girls are skilled in doing that, because only based upon my Facebook profile and blog, they made such a good style report! I looooove it, it's so classy and the colors are beautiful! I think it completely captures my style :)

The article they wrote is in Dutch, but you can certainly enjoy the wonderful collage on the bottom of this article.

Wauw, ik kreeg net zo'n leuke verrassing!

De lieve meiden van de website Socialmorphose hebben een 'style report' voor me gemaakt.

Socialmorphose is een website van twee Nederlandse stylistes, die gratis en persoonlijk stijl advies geven gebaseerd op je Facebook pagina.

En je kunt zeker zien dat ze daar goed in zijn, want alleen maar gebaseerd op mijn Facebook profiel en blog, hebben ze zo'n mooi style report gemaakt! Ik vind het echt praaachtig, het is zo classy en de kleuren zijn super mooi! Het omvat geheel mijn stijl :)

Ze hebben er ook een heel grappig artikel bijgeschreven, dat je hieronder kunt lezen.

Something new, something old, something borrowed

This is how I have worn the 'vintage' jacket of my mom.

I decided to keep the vintage feeling of the jacket, and combined it with two other vintage pieces.

But you may be wondering, what the title is about! Well...

My pants are new, I bought them 2 weeks ago in Amsterdam at River Island :)

Obviously, the 'something old' refers to the jacket; my mum wore it 20 years ago!

And last, I borrowed these beautiful shoes of my mum. They are indeed (and unfortunately!) not mine.

How do you like this look? Or do you maybe prefer to see this jacket in a more modern outfit?

Dit is hoe ik het 'vintage' jasje van m'n moeder gedragen heb.

Ik besloot om de vintage uitstraling van het jasje te bewaren, en heb het gecombineerd met twee andere vintage stukken.

Maar nu vraag je je misschien af, waar de titel over gaat! Nou...

Mijn broek is nieuw, ik heb hem 2 weken geleden in Amsterdam gekocht bij de River Island :)

Het 'something old' verwijst natuurlijk naar het jasje; mijn moeder droeg die 20 jaar geleden!

En ten slotte, deze prachtige schoenen heb ik geleend van m'n moeder. Ze zijn inderdaad (en helaas!) niet van mij.

Vintage shopping in your own house

Picture it: you show your mum your new trendy purchases, and you're super happy because they're super trendy. But then, your mum gives with the answer: 'That's what we were wearing 20 years ago'. Does this sounds familiar?

Ter-ri-ble. Not because of the actual fact that they were wearing the same things several years ago. No, the problem is that my mum never ever saved her clothes. That's why I made a vow: I will never throw away my clothes (well, as long as it's good quality, I guess it's impossible to save all of my H&M and Zara collections hihi). My daughter probably will get contaminated with the same fashion virus I am suffering from, but she hopefully will be really thankful her awesome mum saved all of her clothes.

Anyway, back to the point I was going to. Sooooometimes, I do find something super cool, saved in boxes in the loft. This time, it was this red blazer with velvet collar.

I love it! What do you think?

Stel je voor: je laat je nieuwe aankopen aan je moeder zien, en je bent er heel blij mee want ze zijn helemaal hip. Maar dan, je moeder komt met het antwoord: 'Dat droegen wij ook 20 jaar geleden'. Klinkt dit herkenbaar?

Ver-schrik-ke-lijk. Niet om het eigenlijke feit dat ze jaren geleden dezelfde dingen droegen. Nee, het probleem is dat mijn moeder haar kleding nooit heeft bewaard. Daarom heb ik een gelofte afgelegd: ik zal nooit mijn kleding weggooien (zolang het goede kwaliteit betreft, ik ben bang dat het onmogelijk is om mijn gehele H&M en Zara collectie te bewaren hihi). Mijn dochter zal waarschijnlijk ook besmet worden met hetzelfde mode-virus waar ik aan lijd, maar zij zal hopelijk heel dankbaar zijn dat haar geweldige moeder al haar kleding heeft bewaard.

In ieder geval, terug naar het punt waar ik eigenlijk heen wilde. Soms vind ik toch iets super cools, bewaard in dozen op het zolder. En deze keer was het deze rode blazer met fluwelen kraag.

Ik vind hem geweldig! En jij?

Blue Monday

But in my opinion, the tric is to not think about that at all!

Thanks for having the word 'mon' in you. That's French for 'mine'.

In case you weren't aware, monday, but it makes me think of you more as 'my day', and frankly that sounds like a much more promising start to the week.

Volgens onderzoekers, is het vandaag de meest deprimerende dag van het jaar, ook wel 'Blue monday' genoemd.

Kröller-Müller Museum

Last week I went to the Kröller-Müller Museum with my dad, and it was really impressing! I was actually a bit ashamed that I wasn't been there before, as it's quite near the place a live. But most importantly: they have absolutely great pieces! Such as this painting of Vincent Van Gogh, one of my favorite painters.

So of course I was wearing a comfortable outfit for a day like this, mainly thanks to my super cozy sweater!

Vorige week ben ik naar het Kröller-Müller Museum geweest samen met mijn vader, en het was heel indrukwekkend! Eigenlijk schaamde ik me al een beetje dat ik er nog nooit eerder was geweest, aangezien ik best dicht in de buurt woon. Maar vooral omdat they geweldige stukken hebben! Bijvoorbeeld dit schilderij van Vincent van Gogh, een van mijn favoriete schilders.

Dus natuurlijk had ik een comfortable outfit aan voor zo'n dag, voornamelijk te danken aan mijn super fijne trui!

When I was taking the pictures of last post, my mum started taking these pictures of me.

Toen ik de foto's aan het maken was voor de laatste post, begon mijn moeder foto's van mij te nemen.

En eigenlijk vond ik het wel grappig om die je te laten zien! Als een soort van 'making of' haha! En het ziet er biiijjjna professioneel uit toch hihi ;-)

New in: sale shopping

To be honost: I'm not a really good sale-shopper. I always bring home pieces I actually don't even really like, but well, 'they we're just so cheap'...

But this time, I bought 3 really nice things of French Connection, and I think I will actually wear them a lot! I guess the secret is to buy basic pieces in sale, that are not season related. ;)

Om eerlijk te zijn: ik ben geen goede sale-shopper. Ik breng altijd kledingstukken mee naar huis die ik eigenlijk niet eens echt leuk vond, maar ach 'ze waren zo goedkoop'...

Maar deze keer heb ik 3 hele leuke dingen gekocht van French Connection, and ik denk dat ik ze zeker veel zal dragen! Dus ik denk dat het de kunst is om basis dingen te kopen in de sale, die niet seizoen gerelateerd zijn. ;)
