The Holy Week in the Christian community is the last segment of the Lenten Season and ends on Easter Sunday.

Holy Week, which commemorates the Passion of Christ, begins on Palm Sunday April 9, 2017, and ends on Holy Saturday April; 15, 2017.

Lent (Latin: Quadragesima, "fortieth") is an observance in the liturgical year of many Christian denominations, lasting for a period of approximately six weeks leading up to Easter. In most Western denominations Lent is taken to run from Ash Wednesday to Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) or to Easter Eve.

The traditional purpose of Lent is the penitential preparation of the believer—through prayer, penance, repentance, almsgiving, and self-denial. Its institutional purpose is heightened in the annual commemoration of Holy Week, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday, which then culminates in the celebration on Easter Sunday of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Nicene Creed is the most widely accepted statement of faith among Christian churches. It is used by Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran and most Protestant churches.

Roman Catholics refer to the Nicene Creed as the "symbol of faith." In the Catholic Mass, it is also called the "Profession of Faith."

During Lent, many of the faithful commit to fasting or giving up certain types of luxuries as a form of penitence. The Stations of the Cross, a devotional commemoration of Christ's carrying the Cross and of his execution, are often observed. Many Roman Catholic and some Protestant churches bare their altars of candles, flowers, and other devotional offerings, while Crucifixes, religious statues, and other elaborate religious paraphernalia are often veiled in violet fabrics in observance of this event. In certain pious Catholic countries, grand processions and cultural customs are observed, and the faithful attempt to visit seven churches during Holy Week in honor of Jesus Christ heading to Mount Calvary.

This event, along with its pious customs are observed by Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, as well as some Baptists and Mennonites.

Since the Second Vatican Council, the Roman Catholic Church has redefined Good Friday into Holy Saturday as the first two days of the Easter Triduum rather than the last two days of Lent, but Lenten observances are maintained until the Easter Vigil.

In those churches which follow the Rite of Constantinople (e.g. Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholics), the forty days of Lent are counted differently; also, the date of Pascha (Easter) is calculated differently in the East than in the West (see Computus). The fast begins on Clean Monday, and Sundays are included in the count; thus, counting uninterruptedly from Clean Monday, Great Lent ends on the fortieth consecutive day, which is the Friday before Palm Sunday. The days of Lazarus Saturday, Palm Sunday and Holy Week are considered a distinct period of fasting. Among Oriental Orthodox Catholics, there are various local traditions regarding Lent. The Coptic, Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox Churches observe eight weeks of Lent, which, with both Saturdays and Sundays exempt, has forty days of fasting.[9] The first seven days of the fast are considered by some to be an optional time of preparation. Others attribute these seven days to the fast of Holofernes who asked the Syrian Christians to fast for him after they requested his assistance to repel the invading pagan Persians. Joyous Saturday and the week preceding it are counted separately from the forty day fast in accordance with the Apostolic Constitutions giving an extra eight days.

There are traditionally forty days in Lent which are marked by fasting, both from foods and festivities, and by other acts of penance. The three traditional practices to be taken up with renewed vigour during Lent are prayer (justice towards God), fasting (justice towards self), and almsgiving (justice towards neighbor). Today, some people give up a vice of theirs, add something that will bring them closer to God, and often give the time or money spent doing that to charitable purposes or organizations.

Saint Valentine was a bishop who lived in the third century in Rome who fight against Emperor Claudius II who ban marriage between two young lovers.

Saint Valentine held the law of the church and helped lovers who came to him, uniting them in a holy matrimony, but it was only a matter of time before the Emperor heard about this and had him arrested.

Valentine was imprisoned. While waiting for his sentence, his jailor Asterius approached him to use his saintly power, and heal his blind daughter. Valentine succeeded and her sight was restored -- they became close and fell in love.

After a while, the Emperor asked Saint Valentine to agree with the emperor about the ban on marriage, thus giving up his religion. Valentine refused.

Just before his execution, Valentine asked for a pen and paper and signed a farewell message to his lover, "from your Valentine"; a phrase that lived ever after.

One Valentine was a Roman priest and doctor who was persecuted by the emperor Claudius II for marrying Christian couples. Claudius took a liking to Valentine, but Valentine overstepped his bounds when he tried to convert the emperor, and Claudius sentenced him to death -- and an ugly death at that. He was beaten, stoned, and finally beheaded.

There is another Valentine who appears in early martyrologies: a bishop of Terni, Italy, who was also allegedly persecuted in Rome. It's been proposed that this man was one and the same as the Valentine executed by Claudius.

The feast of St. Valentine was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496. Some say that Valentine's feast day is celebrated in February because the church wanted to Christianize an ancient Roman pagan festival called Lupercalia, which centered around fertility and purification, and also took place in February.

This same situation of changing a holiday happened with Christmas being held on Dec. 25.

Mount Toromocho, meaning "a bull without horns" in Spanish, is a mountain in the Junín Region, Peru that sits next to the long established mining camp of Morococha and hosts a large polymetallic metal deposit.

The entire majestic mountain is now owned by the Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco formerly Chalco) intended for a large open pit mine on the mountain and production of 210,000 tonnes copper annually.

Pure aluminum is soft and lacks strength, but alloyed with small amounts of copper, magnesium, silicon, manganese, or other elements impart a variety of useful properties.

These alloys are of vital importance in the construction of modern aircraft and rockets.

Copper is a ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. Compounds that contain a carbon-copper bond are known as organocopper compounds.

***It is important to note the safe disposal of "Enargite" a copper arsenic sulfosalt mineral. Enargite are found in the copper mines of USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and the Philippines.

Let us also be reminded that organoarsenic compounds, especially those featuring As-Cl bonds, have been used as chemical weapons, especially during World War I.

Alcoa established an 8% stake in China's state-run aluminum industry and has formed a strategic alliance with Aluminium Corporation of China (Chalco), China's largest aluminum producer, at its Pingguo facility. Alcoa sold this stake on September 12, 2007.

Open-pit mines are typically enlarged until either the mineral resource is exhausted, or an increasing ratio of overburden to ore makes further mining uneconomic. When this occurs, the exhausted mines are sometimes converted to landfills for disposal of solid wastes. However, some form of water control is usually required to keep the mine pit from becoming a lake.

There are only seven bauxite-rich areas: Western and Central Africa (mostly, Guinea), South America (Brazil, Venezuela, Suriname), the Caribbean (Jamaica), Oceania and Southern Asia (Australia, India), China, the Mediterranean (Greece, Turkey) and the Urals (Russia).

The main deposits of high-quality bauxites with high aluminium content (not less than 50%), are already divided by the main players.

Other companies have to either buy alumina on the free-market — and wholly depend on price movements — or join forces with deposit owners.

The conservation of rain forests is a key concern often voiced with regard to bauxite mining.

However there are deep concerns on how …. the original flora and fauna of much of the land involved in bauxite mining is restored once mining operations have ceased.

For all forest areas used for bauxite mining, 80% is returned to native forests, the rest is replaced by agriculture, commercial forest, or recreational area, thereby making the area more productive for the local community.

So it really should not come as surprise on why there are landslides, flash floods of biblical proportions and questionable earth movement near and far from where heavy mining are undertaken.

10 achievements from Davos 2017

1) A new fund backed by the Norwegian government has been launched that will raise $400 million and protect 5 million hectares in countries working to reduce deforestation and forest and peat degradation. The fund could lead to $1.6 billion in deforestation-free agriculture investments, also leading to job creation and economic growth.

2) The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was officially launched at the Annual Meeting with the aim of quickly reacting to epidemics by creating vaccines that could be released quickly once an outbreak occurs.

3) Signatories to the Forum’s New Vision for Arab Employment project said they have now helped re-skill 250,000 people since 2013, and are now targeting 1 million current and future workers.

4) The Forum teamed with the University of California Santa Barbara’s Marine Science Institute to build a coalition to protect the world’s oceans and marine resources; a global commons estimated by the World Wildlife Fund to be worth $2.5 trillion.

5) The Forum mobilized a public-private coalition to build a responsible, inclusive and sustainable battery supply chain. The lithium-ion battery market is expected to be worth $70 billion by 2024, yet production is linked to issues such as child labour, health and safety hazards for workers, environmental impacts and life-cycle sustainability.

6) 40 governments and businesses, including some of world’s largest consumer goods, retailers and recycling firms, endorsed a plan to increase global reuse and recycling rates for plastic packaging from its current 14% to 70%.

7) Social Entrepreneur Gary White of water.org, co-founded with Matt Damon, announced a major expanded partnership with Stella Artois to help provide clean water to 3.5 million people.

8) GoodWeave International, another social enterprise, announced a new international programme, Sourcing Freedom, to stop modern slavery in supply chains. There are estimated to be 21 million people in forced and bonded labour around the globe. The programme is backed by a number of global businesses from across a range of industries.

9) Some of the world’s largest financial service providers, global IT and telecom companies and the international humanitarian community agreed on six principles to better enable digital cash payments in crisis-affected populations. Digital cash has a proven track record of fostering entrepreneurialism and boosting local economies.

10) Last but not least, 100 leading businesses signed the Compact for Responsive and Responsible Leadership. The Compact was developed with the Forum’s International Business Council which will now develop a framework which will allow the measurement of a long-term approach.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Philippines, features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river.

A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences.

At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water's edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

Security concern is a major issue between the Jews and Palestine. Both worshiping one God and yet caught in a deadlocked scenario for the lack of trust to one another.

Islam extremists indoctrinated to be violent and antagonistic against the “non believers” Jews will be confronted by the Jew’s “an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth" set mind of thinking as sanctioned by their religion. Past history had molded them to be so and carried on from generations.

NFC traces its roots back to radio-frequency identification, or RFID. RFID allows a reader to send radio waves to a passive electronic tag for identification, authentication and tracking.

Here's the controversial RFID Chips.

Obama Health Care Bill mandates Microchip implementation for all American citizens living in the U.S. by March, 23rd 2013 stipulated in H.R. 3200 section 2521, Pg. 1001, paragraph 1. and on Page 1004 of the new law (dictating the timing of this chip), reads, "No later than 36 months after the date of the enactment" .

Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communcation with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimetres.

Essential specifications

NFC tags contain data and are typically read-only, but may be rewriteable. They can be custom-encoded by their manufacturers or use the specifications provided by the NFC Forum, an industry association charged with promoting the technology and setting key standards. The tags can securely store personal data such as debit and credit card information, loyalty program data, PINs and networking contacts, among other information.

The NFC Forum defines four types of tags that provide different communication speeds and capabilities in terms of configurability, memory, security, data retention and write endurance. Tags currently offer between 96 and 4,096 bytes of memory.

As with proximity card technology, near-field communication uses magnetic induction between two loop antennas located within each other's near field, effectively forming an air-core transformer. It operates within the globally available and unlicensed radio frequency ISM band of 13.56 MHz. Most of the RF energy is concentrated in the allowed ±7 kHz bandwidth range, but the full spectral envelope may be as wide as 1.8 MHz when using ASK modulation.

There are two modes:

Passive communication mode: The initiator device provides a carrier field and the target device answers by modulating the existing field. In this mode, the target device may draw its operating power from the initiator-provided electromagnetic field, thus making the target device a transponder.
Active communication mode: Both initiator and target device communicate by alternately generating their own fields. A device deactivates its RF field while it is waiting for data. In this mode, both devices typically have power supplied

NFC employs two different codings to transfer data. If an active device transfers data at 106 kbit/s, a modified Miller coding with 100% modulation is used. In all other cases Manchester coding is used with a modulation ratio of 10%.
NFC devices are able to receive and transmit data at the same time. Thus, they can check for potential collisions, if the received signal frequency does not match with the transmitted signal's frequency.

Non-Catholics may find this portrayal of Catholic prophecy very interesting because of an interest in eschatology and other Biblical end-times prophecy.

The St. Malachy . . .

Saint Malachy (1094 – 2 November 1148) was an Irish saint and Archbishop of Armagh, to whom were attributed several miracles and an alleged vision of 112 Popes later attributed to the apocalyptic list of Prophecy of the Popes. He was the first Irish saint to be canonized by Pope Clement III in 1199.

Most important of all of his prophesies was one concerning the succession of the Popes—from Pope Innocent II (who became pontiff in 1140) to the pope who will follow John Paul II.

According to his prophecy, the line of popes will end, abruptly, with the next pope. He was described in the prophesies of St. Malachy as Gloria Olivae (the glory of the olive).

The Prophecy of the Popes -112 Popes

After Pope John Paul II there are only two left in Malachy's prophecy, "the glory of the olive" and "Peter the Roman." The latter will supposedly lead the Church through many tribulations, concluding with the last judgment.

The Order of Saint Benedict is also known as the Olivetans which many claim makes Malachy's prophecies correct. The next and final pope then should be "Peter Romanus".

The Irish prophet Saint Malachy has predicted that the next Pope after Benedict will be the last and he will be “Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The end.”

So will Benedict’s successor be the last pope? The Irish seer of the 12th century has said it will be so. Time will tell.

St. Malachy's Prediction of 112th Pope FULFILLED !!!

The son of middle-class Italian immigrants, he denied himself the luxuries that previous cardinals in Buenos Aires enjoyed. He lived in a simple apartment, often rode the bus to work, cooked his own meals and regularly visited slums that ring Argentina's capital.

He considers social outreach, rather than doctrinal battles, to be the essential business of the church.

In choosing to call himself Francis, the new pope was associating himself with the much-loved Italian saint from Assisi known as a symbol of peace, poverty and simplicity. St. Francis was born to a wealthy family but renounced his wealth and founded the Franciscan order of friars; he wandered about the countryside preaching to the people in very simple language.

He was so famed for his sanctity that he was canonized just two years after his death in 1226.

St. Francis Xavier is another important namesake. One of the 16th-century founders of the Jesuit order, Francis Xavier was a legendary missionary who spread the faith as far as India and Japan — giving the new pope's name further resonance in an age when the church is struggling to maintain its numbers.

For years, as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the Argentine pastor took the bus to work, kissed the feet of AIDS patients and prayed with former prostitutes, eschewing the luxurious residence that would have been his due as archbishop of Buenos Aires.

Jesuits typically shun positions of authority in the church, instead offering their work in service to those in power.

In accepting the election, Pope Francis must have felt it "a strong call to service," an antidote to all those who speculated that the papacy was about a search for power.

Argetinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio has been elected the 266th pope - leader of the 1.2bn Roman Catholic Church. Francis I was elected on Wednesday on the second day of the conclave, after receiving the required two-thirds majority, or at least 77 votes of the 115 cardinal electors from 48 countries. Francis I is the first Jesuit pope and first Latin American leader of the Catholic Church.

The "last" Pope referred to in the Scriptures is never said to be one of these two described in Saint Malachy's prophecy. It may rather be the next one, or one who shall persecute "Peter the Roman" - 112th Malachy's Pope, and not a regularly elected Pope. It shall be an usurper who shall seat on the throne of Peter by fraud not according to the rules of the Church. In other prophecies he is designated as the one who shall come and change the laws of the Church.

Among Malachy's prophesies was his prediction of the day and hour of his own death—and it was accurate.

Malachy had the gift of healing to aid the sick. In addition, he reported possessed the powers of levitation and clairvoyance. Numerous miracles are attributed to his ministry. He was also endowed with the gift of prophecy.

St. Bernard describes Saint Malachy as having noble birth, baptised Máel Máedóc (English: Malachy), trained under Imhar O’Hagan, subsequently Abbot of Armagh, ordained priest by St Cellach (Celsus) in 1119, spent nearly two years under St Malchus to perfect himself in sacred liturgy and theology.

Chosen Abbot of Bangor, in 1123, consecrated Bishop of Down and Connor, and, in 1132, he was promoted to the primacy of Armagh. St Bernard gives us many interesting anecdotes regarding St Malachy, and highly praises his zeal for religion both in Connor and Armagh. In 1127 he paid a second visit to Lismore and acted for a time as confessor to Cormac MacCarthy, Prince of Desmond. While Bishop of Down and Connor, he continued to reside at Bangor, and when some of the native princes sacked the two dioceses of Down and Connor, he brought the Bangor monks to Iveragh, County Kerry, where they were welcomed by now King Cormac. On the death of St Celsus (who was buried at Lismore in 1129), St Malachy was appointed Archbishop of Armagh, 1132, which dignity he accepted with great reluctance. Owing to intrigues, he was unable to take possession of his See for two years; even then he had to purchase the Bachal Isu (Staff of Jesus) from Niall, the usurping lay-primate.

He founded a priory of Austin Canons at Downpatrick, and was unceasing in his episcopal labours. Early in 1139 he journeyed to Rome, visiting St Bernard at Clairvaux. He petitioned Pope Innocent II for pallia for the Sees of Armagh and Cashel, and was appointed legate for Ireland. On his return visit to Clairvaux he obtained five monks for a foundation in Ireland, under Christian, an Irishman, as superior: thus arose the great Abbey of Mellifont in 1142. St Malachy set out on a second journey to Rome in 1148, but on arriving at Clairvaux he fell sick, and died in the arms of St Bernard, on 2 November 1148.

St Malachy's feast is celebrated on 3 November, so it won't clash with All Souls Day. He is Patron Saint of the Archdiocese of Armagh and the Diocese of Down and Connor. Saint Malachy's Church, Belfast was intended to be the Cathedral Church of Down and Connor dedicated in honour of the Diocesan Patron. However, the Irish Famine broke out and the grand plans for the Saint Malachy's Cathedral were shelved in order to divert funds to the needy.

Modelled on US covert ops in Central America, the Pentagon's "Salvador Option for Iraq" initiated in 2004 was carried out under the helm of the US Ambassador to Iraq John Negroponte (2004-2005) together with Robert Stephen Ford, who was appointed US Ambassador to Syria in January 2011, less than two months before the beginning of the armed insurgency directed against the government of Bashar Al Assad.

"The Salvador Option" is a "terrorist model" of mass killings by US sponsored death squads. It was first applied in El Salvador, in the heyday of resistance against the military dictatorship, resulting in an estimated 75,000 deaths.

The Salvadoran Civil War (1979–1992)

was a conflict between the country's US-backed military-led government and

the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), a coalition or 'umbrella organization' of five left-wing guerrilla groups in El Salvador. Significant tensions and violence already existed in the 1970s, before the

full-fledged official outbreak of the civil war—

which lasted for twelve years.

The conflict ended in the early 1990s. An unknown number of people disappeared, and more than 75,000 were killed.

John Negroponte had served as US ambassador to Honduras from 1981 to 1985. As Ambassador in Tegucigalpa, he played a key role in supporting and supervising the Nicaraguan Contra mercenaries who were based in Honduras. The cross border Contra attacks into Nicaragua claimed some 50 000 civilian lives.

In 2004, John Negroponte was appointed US ambassador to Iraq, with a very specific mandate.

The US Ambassador to Syria (appointed in January 2011), Robert Stephen Ford had been part of Negroponte's team at the US Embassy in Baghdad (2004-2005). In this regard, "The Salvador Option" for Iraq laid the groundwork for the launching of the insurgency in Syria in March 2011, which commenced in the Southern border city of Daraa.

In relation to recent events, the killings and atrocities committed in the border city of Houla on May 27 were, in all likelihood, carried out under what may be described as a "Salvador Option for Syria".

The Russian government has called for an investigation:

"As information trickles out of Houla, Syria, near the city of Homs and the Lebanese-Syrian border, it is becoming clear that the Syrian government was not responsible for shelling to deaths some 32 children and their parents, as periodically claimed and denied by Western media and even the UN itself. It appears that instead, it was death squads at close quarters - accused by anti-government "activists" as being "pro-regime thugs" or "militias," and by the Syrian government as the work of Al Qaeda terrorists linked to foreign meddlers." US Ambassador Robert S. Ford was dispatched to Damascus in late January 2011 at the height of the protest movement in Egypt. (The author was in Damascus on January 27, 2011 when Washington's Envoy presented his credentials to the Al Assad government).

At the outset of my visit to Syria in January 2011, I reflected on the significance of this diplomatic appointment and the role it might play in a covert process of political destabilization. I did not, however, foresee that this destabilization agenda would be implemented within less than two months following the instatement of Robert S. Ford as US Ambassador to Syria.

The reinstatement of a US ambassador in Damascus, but more specifically the choice of Robert S. Ford as US ambassador, bears a direct relationship to the onset of the insurgency integrated by death squads in mid-March 2011 against the government of Bashar al Assad.

Robert S. Ford was the man for the job. As "Number Two" at the US embassy in Baghdad (2004-2005) under the helm of Ambassador John D. Negroponte, he played a key role in implementing the Pentagon's "Iraq Salvador Option". The latter consisted in supporting Iraqi death squads and paramilitary forces modelled on the experience of Central America.

Since his arrival in Damascus in late January 2011 until he was recalled by Washington in October 2011, Ambassador Robert S. Ford played a central role in laying the groundwork within Syria as well as establishing contacts with opposition groups. The US embassy was subsequently closed down in February. Ford also played a role in the recruitment of Mujahideen mercenaries from neighboring Arab countries and their integration into Syrian "opposition forces". Since his departure from Damascus, Ford continues to oversee the Syria project out of the US State Department:

"As the United States’ Ambassador to Syria—a position that the Secretary of State and President are keeping me in —I will work with colleagues in Washington to support a peaceful transition for the Syrian people. We and our international partners hope to see a transition that reaches out and includes all of Syria's communities and that gives all Syrians hope for a better future. My year in Syria tells me such a transition is possible, but not when one side constantly initiates attacks against people taking shelter in their homes". (US Embassy in Syria Facebook page)

"Peaceful transition for the Syrian people"? Ambassador Robert S., Ford is no ordinary diplomat. He was U.S. representative in January 2004 to the Shiite city of Najaf in Iraq. Najaf was the stronghold of the Mahdi army. A few months later he was appointed "Number Two Man" (Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs), at the US embassy in Baghdad at the outset of John Negroponte's tenure as US Ambassador to Iraq (June 2004- April 2005). Ford subsequently served under Negroponte's successor Zalmay Khalilzad prior to his appointment as Ambassador to Algeria in 2006.

Robert S. Ford's mandate as "Number Two" (Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs) under the helm of Ambassador John Negroponte was to coordinate out of the US embassy, the covert support to death squads and paramilitary groups in Iraq with a view to fomenting sectarian violence and weakening the resistance movement.

John Negroponte and Robert S. Ford at the US Embassy worked closely together on the Pentagon's project. Two other embassy officials, namely Henry Ensher (Ford's Deputy) and a younger official in the political section, Jeffrey Beals, played an important role in the team "talking to a range of Iraqis, including extremists". (See The New Yorker, March 26, 2007). Another key individual in Negroponte's team was James Franklin Jeffrey, America's ambassador to Albania (2002-2004).

It is worth noting that Obama's newly appointed CIA head, General David Petraeus played a key role the organization of covert support to Syria's rebel forces, the infiltration of Syrian intelligence and armed forces, etc.

Petraeus played a key role in Iraq's Salvador Option. He led the Multi-National Security Transition Command (MNSTC) "Counterinsurgency" program in Baghdad in 2004 in coordination with John Negroponte and Robert S Ford at the US Embassy in Baghdad.

An official from the U.S. Embassy said that Turkish and American officials discussed “more fruitful cooperation on the region’s most pressing issues in the coming months.” Turkish officials said Erdoğan and Petraeus exchanged views on the Syrian crisis and anti-terror fight. MY ISSUES against culprit China.

1. Tibet is confirmed to have the existence of the biggest uranium reserves in the world. The uranium mining and processing in Tibet is done with unforgivable callousness.

The radioactive contamination of groundwater in Ngapa, Amdo is of great concern in the region with reported deformed birth of humans and animals and death of many Tibetans from drinking contaminated water near this uranium mine.

2. China had dumped an unknown quantity of radioactive waste on the Tibetan plateau.

The Tibetan plateau gives birth to some of the longest rivers of the world; The Machu (Huang Ho, or Yellow River), the Tsangpo (Brahmaputra), the Drichu (Yangtze), and the Senge Khabab (Indus) and home to 2,000 natural lakes some of which are sacred and play a special role in local culture.

3. Recent landslides and flooding of biblical proportion in China and neighboring nations, is no longer surprising with the apparent denudation of vast hill sides resulting to the lost of the world’s highest stock density for conifers. The volume of timber that China has taken away from Tibet itself far exceeds the amount that it has spent to build the infrastructural facilities in Tibet.

4. The desecration and destruction of an environmentally sensitive areas in Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, along the Yarlung Zangbo River among the deepest and longest canyons in the world with their unabated mining of “Nyixung” metal (a 250 mile stretched) needed for electrical wiring and power generation in mainland China.

5. Tibet rich in oil have not been spared by China with the desecration and ecological destruction of the Lunpola Basin with the first oil well and proven three million tons of oil reserve in addition to the over one million tons of crude oil that Amdo’s oil fields produce per year.

6. Tibet has an exploitable hydropower potential of 250,000 megawatts, the highest of any country in the world. Large hydroelectricity projects have displaced Tibetans from their homes and lands while tens of thousands of Chinese workers are brought up from China to construct and maintain these dams.

The Yamdrok Yutso hydropower project guarded by 1,500-strong PLA troops and off limits to civilians is a project that China claims to be of great benefit to the Tibetans. Why then the exclusion and the use of the army?

Tibet is made to play a pivotal role in fulfilling the huge demand for power in China at the cost of its own helpless, poor natives. The environmental, human and cultural toll of these hydroelectricity projects will have to be borne by the Tibetans.

7. Nagqu Prefecture, has welcomed inland and foreign investors to exploit the gold, oil, antimony resources of northern Tibet’s plateau and invest in infrastructure all over Tibet. This place has two alluvial gold mines and a gem processing plant in Lhasa. Tibet now is home to 200 mining areas with 28 kinds of mineral ores.

Tibet’s Mount Everest, at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft), is the highest mountain on earth with nine other Tibet’s peaks included in world’s top ten are the prime source of water supply to the several major rivers of the Tibetan Plateau and flowing down to the Yangtze, Yellow River, Indus River, Mekong, Ganges, Salween and the Yarlung Zangbo River (Brahmaputra River).

Lhasa is Tibet's traditional capital and the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) with over 800 settlements. Shigatse is the second largest city, west of Lhasa including Gyantse and Qamdo are also amongst the largest.

It cannot be terrorism in disguise as what China government claims.
The Tibetan culture is spiritual while the Han culture is material. This is very hard to understand by the Han people and the outside world who can’t believe how Tibetans would do things out of a spiritual desire, including setting themselves on fire.

Tibetan’s self-immolations express a form of misery and an evident outright protest from frustration over China's stifling security presence, restrictions on religion and the demonization of their beloved spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

The Hans view the immolations as part of attempts to break away from China and wonder why Tibetans aren't more grateful for government development of their region with rail links, expressways, houses and factories.

It was not meant to attack other people or the Chinese government but a complete sacrifice of oneself out of frustrations.

Fri Nov 30, 2012 marks the birthday of the State of Palestine that won de facto U.N. recognition with 138 votes in favor, nine against, 41 abstentions and three countries that did not take part in the vote. The 65th anniversary of the adoption of U.N. resolution 181 has partitioned Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states.

Now "E-1" a designated area and both claimed by Israel and Palestine for their respective expansion and development plans threaten even deeper more the much awaited peace that still remains elusive for decades. "E-1" blocks east Jerusalem from its West Bank hinterland and is an area that Palestinians are demanding along with Gaza, for their future state.

While Israel have said actual construction on the Jewish housing project may be years away if it ever gets off the ground at “E-1”, . . . . it has ordered roads closed leading to the area and had the military declare a closed military zone and shut off access.

Something to think about before embarking upon a boycott of Israel!

On the other side of the coin, should Palestine insist on an undivided territorial claim of Jerusalem (old wall, Muslim, Jews and Christian places) chaos and loss of lives will be inevitable and will ruin any chance of peace and reconciliation.

If all else fail, then Israel and Palestine should then move forward either to declare it as an open city, partition with joint consensus or allow all civilians to depopulate the place so they can save the lives of their families. Again it is just a place of stone and not the Kingdom of Heaven.

Many religions have footholds and beginnings in Jerusalem and even Russia is in Jerusalem and the world continuously watch closely on these events.

Concessions and compromise are key players in cementing a positive outcome.

This is a beautiful poem by Walter Richard Cassels. In English "De Profundis" means “out of the depths”.

Although from the writer’s point of view, this poem was composed to refer to a specific situation and subject. But gladly, its deep,diverse and boundless interpretative composition can be viewed differently and applied to others.

This same poem can be used to refer to India . . . now at the crossroad of complete change towards an unprecedented implementation of women’s and children's rights and protection.

So this blog is especially dedicated to the many women and children victims, . . . still left in a quandary as they await justice on those who have wronged them.

To the families left behind by Jyoti Singh Pandey, 23 year old medical student or fondly called as "Bitiya" meaning little daughter, . . . who succumbed to death from severe internal lacerations caused by a rusted rod and inflicted by six rapists.

Step #1 - To choose a ripe dragon fruit: look for bright, even-colored skin. If the fruit has a lot of blotches, it may be over-ripe (a few is normal). Another sign of over-ripe dragon fruit is a very dry, brittle brown stem, or brown on the tips of the "leaves". Hold the dragon fruit in your palm and try pressing the skin with your thumb or fingers - it should give a little (like a ripe kiwi), but shouldn't be too soft or mushy. If it's very firm, it will need to ripen for a few days.

Step #2: Cut the Dragon Fruit

Placing the dragon fruit over a cutting board or other clean surface, cut the fruit straight down the middle with a sharp knife. It will cut quite easily.

Cut through to the other side, so that you can separate the fruit into 2 sections. Inside the flesh may be white or red - both will have tiny black edible seeds, just like kiwi fruit.

There are various ways to prepare dragon fruit for eating - this is just one way. Run a tablespoon around the circumference of the first section to separate the flesh from the skin.

Step #5: Lift Flesh out of the Skin.

Now lift the flesh out of the skin and place it on the cutting board. Reserve the skin for serving (as in step 8), if desired. Note that the skin is NOT edible. Do the same for the other half.

Step #6: Remove Skin from Flesh.

Turn the mound of flesh over, checking for any residual pink skin. Slice this off.

Step #7: Slice up the Dragon Fruit.
