Back into the swing of uni: hangovers, awkward moments, essays and drama! So I didn't do particularly well in my retake exam, but I have still got onto the next year. I have the chance to retake in November to carry on with my honors degree, so I have to work incredibly hard over the coming months to balance it all! Freshers second time round was a bit of a let down and felt very old with all of the fresh faced and eager freshers walking around! My lectures this week have been really interesting and I am looking forward to getting on with all my work and projects! So this week overall has been pretty good, my lectures were fun, my Grandma sent me a cake and £20 scoreeee! got another ear piercing (finally) and even went and got myself a job at home and at uni whoop!

This is my first successful marbling attempt, I had tried it once previously and the nail varnish didn't stick to my nails at all! But considering this was the first time I think it turned out pretty well, so definitely don't be put off if it doesn't go very well at first! It actually turned out to be easier than I thought but very time consuming, so I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a rush to go out!

Firstly I would say apply a simple and plain base coat to your nails, so the marbling really stands out. I just used a cheapy Natural Collection white varnish (New buy only £1.79 from Boots called nail tip whiter BARGAIN!) it is quite a thick varnish so only needs one coat too!

Once the base coat is dry, take a small dish, I just used an old perspex Clinique make up box I have to keep my nail polishes in. Fill it up with room temperature water- this doesn't really matter mine was a little bit chilly, I just think it makes it easier.

Once you have chosen the other coloured nails varnishes you want to marble with, unscrew all the tops ready so it is quicker. You drop a dash of the polish into the water (I start with the darkest colour first) you keep dropping the colours into each other to form a ring sort shape.

Because I am a student and don't have all the usual things I do at home, I had to take a paper clip and bend it out of shape to form a tool that did the same job as a cocktail stick! So gently swish around the ring of colours to make your desired marble effect. (Don't do this too fast or sudden otherwise it ends up in a big blob!)

Before you print the design onto your nails either take some masking tape or a simple lip balm and put around the sides of your nail so the varnish doesn't stick! I personally used some cheap coca cola smelling lip balm I found at the bottom of my bag!

Place your nail into to marbled area, and with the cocktail stick or other object you have found or made!) just get rid of the remaining design (should be like a skin layer now). Lift you finger out and wipe off the surrounding pattern.

Simples! Like I said it is a slow process, especially because I did one nail at a time as it worked better for me!

Right I am a big fan of wristbands, friendship bracelets and all other fabric related things to wear on your wrist. This summer was the first time I had taken a lot of my wristbands off (or tatty bits of string by Grandma likes to call them) due to working. You name it, and I probably had it tied around my wrist: festival bands, friendship bracelets, name tags... Apart from my Reading Festival wristband (great conversation starter!) my favourite piece was a simple piece of red string with a 'hipster' cross on. I loved it and didn't take it off for about a year! Until one day it eventually gave up one me and wore away, so I thought this week I would treat myself and re buy it.

It is from this great blog site called lily loves lola it has a lot of other cute bracelets like this with skulls and peace signs. They are such good value as well (around £2.50) so I definitely recommend buying a few and can be great presents and friendship bracelets. It also comes beautifully wrapped, the packaging reminds me of christmas!

I recently bought this Maybelline Superstay 24 hour lip colour in Red Passion 510 after using my friends on a night out a few backs. As soon as I saw my friend put it on I thought the colour was fab and all three of us ended up wearing it out! I found that is actually stayed on and bright through out the night as opposed to many red lipsticks/ glosses I have tried before. I did find towards the end of the night it got a bit sticky on my lips but I think that was more due to the heat and singing in the club! Never the less it is a great product and actually does what it says and stays on through out the day even with drinking. So I highly recommend this lip colour and if you are quick you can get 2 Maybelline products for £10 at the moment from Boots and Superdrug. ( I managed to save around £6 buying this and some foundation!)

I love this time of year it means I can finally wear lots of chunky layers and dark colours. I have a slight obsession over leather, spikes and nail varnish so this is my lust list for the coming months of uni days and cheap club nights. Blacks, Grey's & dark Greens are the way forward this season and what my wardrobe is going to be full of! I am just going to brighten up my outfit choices with my nails and lips! I am so stoked for this collaboration and have my eye on a couple of the jumpers, logo bag, pinafore dress and I love the little logo hair pins and badges. I have been fond of the brand since hearing Alexa Chung mention it, in some magazine article or other. I like how the collection (The Butterfly Collector) mixes a lot of crazy prints such as tartan, zebra and paisley all together in one collection. It reminds me very much and times well with the whole back to school vibe, with branded pencils and notebooks. He quotes "I love a promotional product" "I went out to make a brand. I never went out to make a young designer", I like the fact he is using the simple branding in an effective way and also he is very honest about what his vision is and where the brand is going. The collection is priced from 95p too which is a great bonus for us students! I just hope it is in stores and not sold out (Think it is the 14th September it enters stores) by the time 'student lock in' during Freshers so I can get 20% off!

I had to battle my way through the Saturday crowds in town because I was in desperate need of foundation. While I was in Boots buying my make up staples, I thought I would treat myself to a few cheapy nail varnishes. I have been obsessing over beauty blogs recently and love the quirky colours and patterns being painted. So the brand Collection had a deal on there new Hot Looks 60 Second range, where it was 2 colours for £3. (However I did read it as 3 for £2, so I got to the counter annoyed that I could have picked up another one!) I am also in love with glitter nail polishes because they can look so great over top, so I found a Miss sporty one for a similar price of £1.99.

I tried the Bongo Beat colour with the Miss sporty polish (Sparkle Touch 30) over the top, and it looked simple but fab! I really like these collection polishes, and they do dry really quickly, which is fab for me because I can't keep still waiting for my nails to dry. It was a shame the miss sporty one didn't dry as quick too! Saying that I really like the Miss Sporty one as it seems to look better on than previous brands I have tried before it spreads out more evenly.

So I have tried to make my new room in my second year uni house more homely. So once my parents brought up pretty much most of my belongings, I started to add cushions, lights, books, and colourful bed sheets. My room at the moment looks very vibrant with oranges, pinks and purples with art materials, magazines and photos everywhere. My room is now finally more homely and a better environment than the drab brown and green inspired colour theme from before.

I still however have a long list of interior must haves, but some may have to wait until a) I have money and b) I live in a less strict rented flat! So I still really want a cork board map, so I can stick pins into places I've been and where I desire to go. I also love the desk chair look with the fur rug style cover, I think that looks really modern and simple. After searching for lots of inspiration, I really want to buy a Polaroid camera so I can have a wall of memories! ( However I found a software that turns photos into Polaroid style, so I may just print it like that)

I bought this cute aztec print rug from Urban Outfitters from the store in Manchester after spending hours falling in love with every item on their website. As much as this rug is amazing and brightens up my room, it is rather thing and the pom poms aren't sewed on particularly well. I even had to exchange it for another one as there was pretty much no poms poms left on it. But I still love it, and it looks great in my room!

Right so I am currently writing this blog post sitting on the sofa under a duvet surrounded by tissues. Yes that's right I have a stinking flu, but hopefully it means I will get it all out of my system before I go to Leeds to see my friend and Freshers '12 starts! So I've been blogging for over a month now, and I really enjoying and it's even going in a different direction than I thought. I predominately started this as a fashion blog, but have included various personal posts. Which I think is important on my particular blog as it is nice to include personal posts to explain more about my life. I am hoping to get more into now I have settled into my uni flat, and once I get my dreaded re-take exam results. I am currently thinking about my next few blog posts, and have lots of exciting new ideas about the new collections, my new room and little interior decorations and my ever growing bucket list. I also want to play about with Photoshop a bit more and be able to edit pictures to a better standard of photos. My only plans for this week are to over come this flu and get a job!

I'm back! I finally have internet in my new uni flat! So I did my exam on Tuesday, it was very hard so I am hoping it went okay! Now apart from looking for jobs, I currently have nothing to do. So I made a little collage of some of my lust of images I have come across on Tumblr.

So I am finally back up North to prepare for my exam on tuesday, as much as I love it up here and have missed the freedom, I really just want to go back home and chill with my friends. Last week I had such a busy and good week with my friends. I got talked into going out on Monday night, which ended up being such a good night in Reading. Then as I had a free house I had a bunch of people over and was the most hilarious night playing drinking games and annoying the neighbours. I am now trying to concentrate on revising for my exam and starting to get pretty nervy about it. I don't have proper internet until Thursday so I won't be blogging till then.

So this week has revolved around revising for this re-take exam I have on the 28th, applying for a copious range of part time jobs at university and seeing my friends. On Tuesday I went to a birthday/ leaving party which was lovely as we all chilling outside with a fire and sparklers till one in the morning. I also saw my best friends yesterday and had a good catch up and laughed so much my stomach muscles were hurting (don't you love that?). We did have a depressing moment involving the mention of the dreaded future and dreams, but I think I am the only one who wishes we could just do all of that now, as I can't wait to start life after education even though it is pretty daunting.
I have also made a little list of some things I would like to start with next term, but I am afraid I am a very poor student at the moment, so I guess I will just have to lust after them! The idea about this little ASOS wishlist, is more to do with casual wear to lectures and hanging out with friends things, as I am normally a little obsessed with new going out dresses.

In about two weeks I am moving into my new flat for the second year of university, it has been stressful recently with sorting out all the bills and paying the deposit. But hopefully now I can focus more on moving in and creating a perfect living space. I wasn't that bothered about decorative items when living in halls apart from the odd cushion, lamp and a wall full of copious photos of my life. However I do feel like I am turning into my mum because I now want to buy candles and towels. I took some pictures when I was out the other day of the kind of little things I want to buy for my new place, once I have some money to spend on them that is. The first thing on my list is a huge map, so I can stick pins in where I have been and where I want to travel too. I may have to just settle for a globe as I am not allowed to stick things on the wall at my new place. I am also aiming to make some picture/ memo boards to put all of my tickets and photos and wristbands on. Similar to what my Grandad made for me a few years ago in the last picture.

So my last few weeks have been taken over by the London 2012 Olympics, pretty much all day and night has been surrounded by tv, radio and Internet coverage. Living on the outskirts of London, I have felt so involved (even though I wasn't able to get tickets!) and have become way more obsessed than I thought I ever would! I even ended up sitting on my sofa giggling to myself watching dressage and sitting with my best friends watching the action from the Velodrome in silence followed by lots of cheering. My top moments from the 2012 Olympics;

Super Saturday: with team GB winning six medals in a day including the amazing athletics medals!
Gold at the end of the tunnel: watching Andy Murrary winning a gold against Feder after seeing him lose and get emotional at Wimbledon. Thought it was so great to see him come back from the defeat after a couple of weeks and play so well!
Mobot Swap: The legend that is Usain Bolt swapping his infamous pose with double Olympic champion Mo Farrah. ( Cheeky fact- did you know the 'MOBOT' pose was actually invented by Clare Balding on the Sky HD show 'A League of Their Own, hosted by James Corden)
Bronze & Beautiful: The joy of Tom Daley and his team when winning a bronze medal was lovely, the fact he has managed to achieve that a such a young age as well as losing his dad this year is unbelievable, and I can only see a bright future from him. (Seeing him in those tiny speedos was a bonus)
Team GB: I think overall what I have really enjoyed about the games is the sense of unity and patriotism, as well as the brilliance of team GB, exceeding well over the target of 48 medals. Watching the flag rising and hearing your country's national anthem really does give you goosebumps and makes you feel incredibly proud. I think everyone involved in the London Olympics have done such a good job and have really done the country proud.
P.S: Couldn't not mention Bradley Wiggins, Wiggo you are THE man! I love his coolness, natural ability to be funny, the side burns and the fact Paul Weller is his idol. I think going out with him and Bolt would be a fun night!

I pretty much enjoyed every part of it, my favourites were swimming, athletics, boxing, tennis, gymnastics, rowing, cycling and diving. So I hope everyone who has been interested in this years Olympics have enjoyed it, and enjoy the last day and closing ceremony tomorrow!

So I tried to take an outfit photo, but didn't go how I planned. Really need to invest in an Apple Mac and SLR camera once I've paid off my over draft (ha like that will be happening soon!). I have discovered how to do one of these big buns though which I actually really like. I wore a black H&M maxi dress, with Primark embellished top over top and leather Topshop aviator jacket. Topshop cross earrings, my grandad's old watch and a vintage cross necklace my friend bought me on holiday. I have had a pretty boring week this week, as it revolved around revising, sorting out my new flat, applying for jobs and a lot of day dreaming. Tuesday was fab because I got to hang out with my two best friends and one of their boyfriends which was fun! Hopefully next week will be more interesting! Hope you all have a fabby weekend!

I recently got bought the Chanel Chance perfume which I love but never really desired because it is my mum's perfume of choice. However I am starting to use it a lot more because of its strong scent and it stays on longer than my other perfumes (Daisy by Marc Jacobs or CK Shock). My mum also doesn't really wear it much now so she gave me her bottle of parfum which is very strong and just pure perfume, however this is more of a going out night scent because of it's strongness.

As I mentioned I went shopping last week as part of my Dad's birthday present to me. I normally have a long list of certain garments I want but surprisingly enough last weekend I was lost and had no idea. So I ended up coming out with an array of black items from Primark. I really need to add more colours to my wardrobe but I am automatically attracted to black and grey because it goes with more things. So I got two see through black tops with embellished collars, which I thought would be cute to wear out with a body con skirt or with a pair of skinny jeans and vest top for the daytime. The black theme continued with a couple of basic tops and clutch bag. I got the bigger black padlock bag for university next year as last year I used my handbag and carried my folders as I only lived across the road, but now I have further to walk! I also got a pair of Topshop Leigh blue skinny jeans because my old ones started to develop holes.

My dad ordered these wedges from miss guided yesterday for me (late birthday present http://www.missguided.co.uk/riven-cut-out-suede-wedges-44537) because since being home from university I haven't had a pair of black wedges, as I somehow managed to break and lose my last two pairs last term! I have the suede Topshop versions of these wedges which are brilliant, so I am hoping they will be the same at a fraction of the price!
