The Galaxy Nexus takes a lot of time to connect on OS X because it likes to pretend that every image on the device is a photograph. We now estimate how long it's going to take and show you that in the progress bar but it's usually in the order of minutes. We're working to see if this can be improved.

One More Unhappy Customer For RIM Playbook - Charger problem

I was hoping RIM can rise up again after CES 2012, want to see OS 2.0 so bad, but now, they are dead to me.

Reason? I bought the playbook on 28th Dec. 2011, today is 11st Jan. 2012, and my wall charger start giving up on me, it charges my playbook sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't at all. And I called the customer service, just want to complain a little bit about the thing. COME ON, it's not even 2 weeks yet (I sometimes think customer service is there just for againsting customers, make them more unhappier, on the bright side, it's actually a bit better than Rogers customer service ) Their response at the end: you can buy one off from our website, website address is XXX. Cool, that's how you make money, right?

Going to call Futureshop tomorrow, seems tomorrow is technically still within 2 weeks of their return policy, will try to return both cover and playbook itself, if they let me(probably is going to have trouble returning the leather cover).

Oh well, at least I rooted the playbook, and installed the android market on it, and had fun with a playbook with an android heart ( maybe that's why my charger is not happy? it didn't like my lovely green robot! )

Good luck, RIM, I still think you can win after the release of playbook OS 2.0, but you are going to do it with one less supporter

Okay, now the price is $198, which is one dollar cheaper than previous fire sale: $199, will it drop again? since we know employee sale price they had few weeks ago is lower than that. My guess, yes, price will further drop a bit, not won't be that much.

The only problem is that it's not running Android, and kindle fire got rooted right after it's release, and do a lot of amazing things that android tablet can do. ( access to android market for awesome apps)

Closed app eco system, that's the only reason that I haven jump into playbook yet. But with Dingleberry Jailbreak tool: http://dingleberry.it/ it makes jail break playbook possible, and with that, you can install android market on your playbook, thus opens doors for installing cool apps from android market. Not only that, now with rootable/jailbreakable playbook, who knows if there will be a version of ice cream sandwich that can be stuffed inside a slim playbook. Of course, you can always wait for official android player to drop sometime early next year.

In conclusion, it's worth the money $198 for the hardware playbook have, I'll keep collecting holiday bargains for playbook and hopefully I will make up my mind to snag one for Christmas break relaxation.
Well, of course unless I see a good deal for a better Android tablet. ie., Samsung galaxy tab/ Asus transformer/ Lenovo tablet.

Google New Look: where did my calender go?

If you like me, you love to check your calendar once a while, and keep gmail interface/web running all the time, the new google UI is not something that you'll enjoy. you have to click google sign on top, and click twice in order to get to your personal calendar. That sucks!!!

To get the UI the old style, what you need to do is click the top right corner setting, and select compact- which is similar to old font and UI style, for me, I need to access google calendar on the top banner, so I just chose revert to old look. Now I found my google calendar again, cheers.

Root : droid 2 global without z4root

My phone has been rooted 1st day I got it by using z4root.
But recently has lost the root somehow because I tried different way to upgrade my rom to gingerbread.
and z4root no longer works.
So here is how I solved the problem:
1. usb debugging mode, mount the phone as usb mass storage.
2. Use super one click： download here antivirus software might detect virus...
3. root it. if it doesn't work, try unroot first then root again, make sure all the drivers are ready
4. download root check form market and check if the phone is rooted.

In chrome browser Apps, downloaded Box 5gb free account.
but accidentally associate the 5G account with my gmail google account, but I have another 50G account.
Unlink those two:
sign in with my 5g box.net account, account setting, apps and reset google account association.
Login my 50G account, boom, now the chrome browser app works
