After a Hurricane Comes a Rainbow

2011-02-22T10:36:00.000-08:00

I've received an e-mail from a relative abroad telling me about her problems with her love. After reading her e-mail I told myself this famous line: "Been there, done that!" It was so ironic that I was once in her shoes. Having the feeling like your not alive anymore, because the better half of your life is no longer a part of it. It was like the world stopped spinning and you don't know how to make it go again. I told her my story, what happened, how I faced the problem and what my significant other did in return. Just when I thought our love story ended, it instead bloomed into something that every girl dreams. Everything changed for the better! I never thought at that down moment of my life things will return to how it used to be. I am hoping that my story inspired her and made her realize that it's not the end of the world...yet. Every one of us face different problems every-freaking-day but we must not forget that everything happens for a reason. A problem may be solved but for sure the next day will come with another problem. What's important is we shouldn't forget to pray and keep in mind that these problems mold us into becoming a better and mature person.

Hail to Batch '03

2010-10-13T00:00:00.000-07:00

It's good to look back to where you came from. I spent the weekend with my former high school classmates to celebrate our Alma Mater's 45th foundation anniversary. I was the last minute muse for our batch. I enjoyed the motorcade at the top of our owner but ended up with sunburn. The night party was awesome and the rain didn't stopped us from partying. We danced in the middle of the rain and savored the moment of our batch being together again. Though we missed our batchmates who weren't able to attend the homecoming, we had a blast drinking, laughing, saying stories about what happened after we graduated and taking pictures.

Seven Years to Cherish

2010-10-12T21:31:00.000-07:00

Last September 19, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 7th year of being together as a couple. It wasn't always that easy for the both of us, we've had our fair share of rough times but the good thing is, at the end of the day, love still prevails. We spent the day together and made it memorable by doing things for the first time like watching Inception in Imax and watching UAAP game live together. Before we ended the day, I received a letter that made me almost cry, it was short but what I needed to know was there. Here are the photos of our special day:

Boracay Madness

2010-08-17T10:16:00.000-07:00

The very famous island of Boracay is one of my dream destination. And this year, it became a reality. It was supposed to be a 2-day vacation but we decided to extend our stay to enjoy more. Let me share our pictures during our trip.

The island of Boracay

One more port and we'll be in our destination

Boracay here we come!

The first thing we did was to take pictures. And we had so much fun jumping!

Mark and I got our henna tattoos.

More pictures to come...

My Cousin's Wedding

2010-08-10T00:26:00.000-07:00

It's been a while since I've posted something here. Well, a lot has happened to me. The latest happening would be my cousins wedding, a civil wedding that is. So let me share to you the pictures of the event.

The big day happened last August 7, 2010 at El Pueblo Rhizort in Calapan City. It was an exclusive family affair wherein only 100 people were invited to witness the union of my cousin Greg Anthony Panganiban and his fiancee Vrenett Albo. It was a short ceremony and when I saw Vrenett almost crying during the wedding I felt like crying too because I have seen how much they love each other.

Love is truly in the air that day.

The cake was made by my aunt.

It won't be a wedding i it won't end with a sweet kiss.

Our family picture. This was the wacky shot.

During the reception with the newlyweds.

Survivors in Caramoan

2010-06-27T21:26:00.000-07:00

We have planned this trip months ago and after a long time of waiting, our trip will finally happen. The travel was kinda long because we had to ride a motor boat for 2 hours to get to the hidden paradise of Caramoan. But the moment we saw the beauty of the place, the long and tiring trip was worth it. I just can't explain in words how I felt with our experience so I'll just share our pictures.

And while we were there in Caramoan, Survivor Sweden is taping their latest season. We got the chance to see the props that they will use for a game.

A Simple Life

2010-06-13T08:19:00.001-07:00

This past few days, my life has been on the down side. It's easy to pretend to be happy but whenever I'm left all alone, I can't deny the sadness deep inside my heart. I wish my life wasn't this complicated. I wish someday everything will be ok and I'll be able to smile from the heart again.

And The Winners Are!

2010-06-07T02:26:00.000-07:00

I woke up early this morning, 9am. I know that's not that early but i slept at 3am the previous night so I think that's early for me. So, I was able to watch the MTV Movie Awards 2010 and here are the results. And I must say, Twilight really swept almost all the awards, AGAIN!

Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart

Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Best Scared-As-Sh*t Performance: Amanda Seyfried

They also showed the 300th trailer of Eclipse..Haha! I just got that expression from Mo Twister. Can't wait to watch Eclipse. It was my favorite book in the series.

MTV Movie Awards 2010

2010-06-06T04:18:00.000-07:00

MTV Movie Awards is here once again! It's the day that movie-goers is waiting for. The awards show does not only feature the movies that rocked our world like New Moon and Avatar but it also features the celebrities, and I mean big celebrities that starred in it.

For this year, the show will be hosted by Aziz Ansari, a comedian who will be in the upcoming movie Get Him to the Greek, also starring Katy Perry's fiance Russel Brand.

Aside from the awards, this year's performances is also something to watch out for. The performer's list includes Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. Christina will be performing a song from her new album after 3 years, Bionic. Katy and Snoop Dogg will perform California Gurls, which is my favorite song at this moment.

Here is the list of nominees for the Movie Awards:

Best Movie:

Alice in Wonderland
Avatar
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The Hangover
New Moon

Best Kiss:

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning -The Runaways
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson -The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds -The Proposal
Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner -Valentine's Day
Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington -Avatar

Best Fight:

Beyoncé Knowles vs. Ali Larter -Obsessed
Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber vs. Ryan Reynolds -X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Logan Lerman vs. Jake Abel -Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Sam Worthington vs. Stephen Lang -Avatar

Best Villain:

Christoph Waltz -Inglourious Basterds
Helena Bonham Carter -Alice In Wonderland
Ken Jeong -The Hangover
Stephen Lang -Avatar
Tom Felton -Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Best WTF Moment:
Betty White - The Proposal
A 'Golden Girl' feels up Sandra Bullock during an awkward wedding dress fitting.

Bill Murray - Zombieland
The original Ghostbuster, Bill Murray, popped up in 'Zombieland' in a surprise cameo playing himself.

Isabel Lucas - Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen
Isabel Lucas is one smoking hot girl but there's nothing sexy about her robot tongue hookup with Shia LaBeouf.

Ken Jeong - The Hangover
Peek-a-BOOty! Ken Jeong pops out of a trunk naked right into Bradley Cooper's face.

Megan Fox - Jennifer's Body
There's nothing hot about projectile vomit. Even if said vomit comes from the lips of Megan Fox.

Biggest Badass Star:

Angelina Jolie
Pretty much everything about Angelina Jolie is badass. She plays action heroes, heartbroken and devastated women, not to mention an assassin who kills all of her adversaries, and herself, with a single curved bullet in 'Wanted.' Angelina is a force to be reckoned with.

Channing Tatum
Channing Tatum knows how to play a kick ass soldier. He plays a stop-lossed one in 'Stop Loss,' he writes to Amanda Seyfried from behind battle lines in 'Dear John,' and plays a member of G.I. Joe - the biggest, boldest, war heroes ever, this year, bringing life to an action figure.

Chris Pine
With a confident demeanor and strong swagger, Chris Pine transforms Captain Kirk from a controversial cadet into the unorthodox captain commandeering Starship Enterprise, who holds the responsibility of maintaining intergalactic peace. Captain Kirk may have one bad ass rep, but as an actor, Pine just kicks ass.

Rain
He's a 'Ninja Assassin' who overcomes childhood adversity to become a worldwide cultural phenomenon. He's also a triple threat - actor, dancer, and singer with a devoted following. And he goes by one name; isn't that the very definition of a serious badass?

Sam Worthington
Sam Worthington plays the legendary son of the Greek god Zeus in 'Clash of the Titans' and a paraplegic soldier who becomes an ass kicking hunter in 'Avatar.' He commands lead roles in two of the biggest blockbusters that have changed the way we watch the big screen. He's a fresh faced, exciting new star, and a big badass to boot.

Best Scared-As-S**t Performance:

Alison Lohman -Drag Me to Hell
The title of this movie doesn't lie; Alison Lohman is actually dragged into hell. That's scary sh*t.

Amanda Seyfried - Jennifer's Body
If your best friend started eating your friends for dinner chances are high that you'd be more than freaked out too.

Jesse Eisenberg - Zombieland
It's plain and simple fear keeping Jessie Eisenberg's character Columbus, a teen trying desperately not to be eaten by Zombies, alive and kicking.

Katie Featherston - Paranormal Activity
There's nothing scarier than nightmares. Unless those nightmares come to life and drag you out of bed when you're asleep.

Sharlto Copley - District 9
Sharlto Copley is scared sh*tless, and rightfully so, when an alien douses him with a fluid that turns his arm into an alien claw.

Best Breakout Star:

Anna Kendrick - Up in the Air
Chris Pine - Star Trek
Gabourey Sidibe - Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
Logan Lerman - Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Quinton Aaron - The Blind Side
Zach Galifianakis - The Hangover

Best Female Performance:

Amanda Seyfried - Dear John
Emma Watson - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Kristen Stewart - The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Sandra Bullock - The Blind Side
Zoe Saldana - Avatar

Best Male Performance:

Channing Tatum - Dear John
Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Robert Pattinson - The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Taylor Lautner - The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Zac Efron - 17 Again

Best Comedic Performance:

Ben Stiller - Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Bradley Cooper - The Hangover
Ryan Reynolds - The Proposal
Sandra Bullock - The Proposal
Zach Galifianakis - The Hangover

Global Superstar:

Daniel Radcliffe
Johnny Depp
Kristen Stewart
Robert Pattinson
Taylor Lautner

My Asian superstar crush Rain is nominated. I hope he wins and I'm praying that this will be the start of his Hollywood superstardom. Of course, as a Twilight fan, I wish that they will grab all the awards wherein they are nominated. Here a behind the scene picture of his assigned seat.

The stage has been set! The venue is ready to be jampacked with big and new celebrities and we'll just gonna have to wait who will get the golden popcorn.

Philippine airing will be tomorrow, June 7,2010 at 9a.m. of course on MTV. May the best movie win!

Chace Crawford Busted!

2010-06-06T03:26:00.000-07:00

I was searching the internet yesterday evening looking for Heidi Montag's before and after breast implants photo when I came across a mug-shot photo of my uber-crush Chace Crawford.

Spotted! Chace Crawford was spotted not by Gossip Girl but by the Police Officers of Plano, Texas. He was busted for possessing two ounces of marijuana. The pot was still unlit. He was inside a '03 Nissan outside Ringo's pub in Texas. He was arrested just before 1 a.m., June 4.

Chace posted bail and was released immediately. He will soon appear in the movie Twelve wherein his character sells marijuana to teenagers from New York. Maybe he was just rehearsing for the movie. Maybe the police were wrong. HAHA! I was just kidding! I am really brokenhearted with this news. I hope he gets through with this issue.

Here's a souvenir photo of his mugshot after he was arrested:

XOXO!

i love ETC!

2010-06-05T23:36:00.000-07:00

Whenever I'm at home, I spend my time watching TV. I only watch 3 channels, ABS-CBN, MTV and ETC. What I love about ETC is the latest seasons (with episodes matched with the US) of shows such as my favorite,

Gossip Girl, Glee and America's Next Top Model. I was able to watch the latest cycle of ANTM and I kinda have bets on who I wanted to win. Jessica and Raina were my bets. Jessica was in the top 5 but was sadly eliminated from the contest. And then, my other favorite, Raina remained in the top 2. She was almost there in getting the title AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL but unfortunately, her co-contestant Krista won. The last episode for ANTM Cycle 14 will be aired on Thurs. June 10 here in the Philippines on ETC.

Here are the final two models who competed for the right to be called America's Next Top Model. Who do you think should have won?

This is my bet and favorite Raina.

And this is the winner, Krista.

Hot Mess COBRAs

2010-05-23T19:48:00.000-07:00

Two months ago, I was given the opportunity to watch the Cobra Starship perform live in Trinoma. I was in the V.I.P. section. So I was there waiting for their performance wondering how the show will go but one thing is for sure, the crowd will go wild because their songs are also danceable and I have memorized some of their songs so I'm ready to sing along with Gabe.

When they went out, my expectation was right, the crowd really went wild! I was watching the show with no companion but it didn't stop me to dance, scream and sing while taking videos at the same time. During the meet and greet, I was able to hug them except for the drummer, Nate Novarro. Just like what people say, save the best for last, my last hug was with none other than the band's frontman Gabe Saporta. I told him 'Hi Gabe.' and he thanked me while we're hugging.

I so love the show that I watched again their third and last show in Alabang Town Center but this time I was with my officemate and friend Ara. I was just standing outside the barrier while Ara was inside the VIP area. My position was near Vicky and Alex. During the show, they were throwing away guitar picks and drum stick. And then out of nowhere, I felt something touched in my chest, I thought it was a guitar pick from Alex but I couldn't see it, I didn't even saw him throw that one out but I really felt something, it's just that I couldn't see it. When I looked down, I saw something green on the floor, I picked it up and it was the guitar pick. I'm so lucky!

After their show, we lined up for our CDs to be signed and rush to MOA to watched Timbaland and Justin Timberlake's concert.

People Magazine's 2009 Hottest Bachelor

2010-03-05T16:04:00.000-08:00

I ran into a picture in the internet with the caption "hottest bachelor". I searched for the "people's hottest bachelor" and I landed on this site. It shows that 2009's hottest summer bachelor is none other than my number one crush, Chace Crawford. I totally agree with People magazine because we just really can't deny the fact that Chace is one hot, hot, hot guy.

Here he is gossip in the set of Gossip Girl with co-star Leighton Meester.

I would totally love to be in Leighton's place.

Meet my Buddy "YEE"

2010-03-03T00:01:00.000-08:00

About a year ago, I use to rent computer to keep up with my social networking accounts like Friendster, Facebook and Twitter, and to check my mails on Yahoo Mail. But ever since I got my Christmas present for myself, I can now easily access the internet whenever I want and whenever I can. What I was planning to get was a Compaq or an Acer but when I saw the uber-cute color of Dell Inspiron during a computer fair in Glorietta, I immediately fell in love with it. It costs more than my target price for a laptop but I really, really love its color. So after days of budgeting, I have decided to get the Dell Inspiron preferably the purple one.

Yes, black is the classic color for a laptop but I want to be unique. And this past year, purple has been my favorite color. I am so happy and fulfilled with my purple Dell laptop, I even named it “Yee” which is the favorite expression of my favorite Jabbawockeez member Joe Larot.

So my advice if you're planning to buy yourself a laptop, choose something that your heart really want. It could be an Apple, Acer, Dell, or HP. Or the color could black, white, pink, blue, purple. Choose something that will make you feel you. Be yourself!

Meet and Greet with My Favorite Boys

2010-02-20T21:41:00.000-08:00

After waiting and wondering how I look at the pictures of my Meet and Greet with the Jabbawockeez, I now know the answer. I have receieved a tweet from MMI (Music Management International) that some of the pictures of the meet and greet are already available at the website of Channel V so I immediately visited the link and saw that my picture was already up together with my friends' pictures with their own Meet and Greet.

And here are the results of our most awaited pictures:

From left-right: SB, Chris, Kevin, Me, Joe, Ben, Phi, Nick and Rainen

Mark and Cory with the Boyce Avenue

We're still waiting for the other pictures that will be posted by MMI on their facebook account.

My picture with the whole gang of Jabbawockeez is really something that I will treasure forever. I was even planning of having it printed on a tarpaulin as a memorabilia.

My Weekend Subic Adventure

2010-02-17T19:25:00.000-08:00

Here are some pictures that I took during our Ocean Adventure escapade. Almost everyone there is sporting a DSLR camera but sadly, I don't have one. I don't even have a Digital Camera so I just used my handy Nokia N70 cellular phone.

A Closer Look at Ocean Life

2010-02-15T00:16:00.000-08:00

Ocean Adventure features different sea animals with extraordinary talents. As we entered, there were students having their field trip. We were given schedule for the 4 shows. We ate our late lunch and then went to the first show, the sea lion show. It features Brandy, a really adorable sea lion. He was such an awesome performer, and he can dance!

Next stop was the “In the Wild” show where they show forest survival and present some of the animals that can be seen in the forest which includes the animal that scares me the most, SNAKES!! We skipped the third show and headed to the aquarium where we saw different kinds of fish, corals and little sea creatures. What intrigued us the most was the Stone Fish which is not moving at all, thus the name. It just stays in one place and it looks like just a stone that had been there for years.

The last show is the dolphin’s show. They saved the best for last. We were already seated in the stadium waiting for the dolphin show. There were 5 dolphins that performed with one false killer whale. They were such amazing and adorable mammals. All the people were amazed by their tricks.

I had fun watching the adorable dolphins twist and turn in the air. They all look so cute. It made me realize to care more about our nature, every little step counts.

Hot Air Balloon Fest 2010

2010-02-14T23:59:00.000-08:00

It was so early in the morning when I had to wake up and prepare for a big day that is coming my way, HOT AIR BALLOON FEST! I was invited by my classmates and thinking that it will be a good time to relax, have fun and leave the very stressful city behind, I happily obliged to join them.

It will be held in Clark, Subic. It will be my first time to be there, in Clark I mean. While nearing the venue, we were stuck in traffic because of the big crowd who are also seeing the event. Having seen the cars that were parked in the venue, it was like half of people in Metro Manila are here. After a not much long wait for us to find a parking spot for Shadowfax (my classmate’s car), we walked to the main gate of the venue. We had to fall in a line to purchase our tickets which costs P150. We had planned to go somewhere else first because we weren’t able to be there in time for the hot air balloons to float in the air. But after purchasing our tickets, we have decided to go inside and see what’s happening. The theme of the event was like a fair with different booths. We felt like we were in a school fair that time.

The event does not only feature hot air balloons but everything, as in EVERYTHING that flies, from our (antique) fighter planes to hot air balloons, helicopters, paragliders, sky divers, and even kites. There were different types of people that attended the event, families, couples, friends, classmates. It was a good day to just relax, look up at the sky and appreciate the beauty of life. We were able to watch the exhibition of pilots. Great performance! We were also able to see 3 hot air balloons going up and down in the sky.

We left the venue and we plan to be back in the afternoon to witness the night glow of the hot air balloons. We went to the Treetop Adventure. We traveled for more than an hour. We saw the Subic International Airport. Treetop Adventure features extreme challenges/adventures such as free fall, superman, and many others that I can’t remember. It is a place where you can challenge yourself do something extreme and test your courage in heights. Since I’m afraid of heights, I know that I won’t try to do something like that, in the near future. But it is a good idea to have a bonding with your love one. It is almost like flying in the air, up in the trees. We decided to just try Ocean Adventure.

Beware of Scammers

2010-02-14T03:05:00.000-08:00

Scams are everywhere, there are personal scams, scams in the internet and thru SMS. I have experienced some scams myself thru text. This happened months ago wherein I received a text message from an unregistered number in my cellphone telling me this:

“musta na kayo? Eto bago kong roaming number. Miss ko na kayo. Magpapadala ako jan. gusto mo ba sumali sa negosyo ko?” (how are you all doing? This is my new roaming number. I miss you all. I will send you money. Do you want to join me in my business).

My mother is working in Bahrain. I just answered the message “what business?” because it got me curious. I also texted my aunt in Mindoro and asked her if my mother changed her roaming number because someone texted me and I have doubts that it was my mother who texted. My aunt called me that she has not changed her number and it was just a scam. I told her that I was also suspicious because she won’t send us money because all of her earning there goes to her debts here in the country so she also can’t start to have business. The texter texted me that the business she was planning was selling load. I replied him/her with “sorry but I don’t have time for that and he/she should find someone she can scam.”

Just yesterday, I have received another text:

“eto na bago kong roaming number. Paloadan mo muna ako ng 500 kasi tatawag ako jan.” (This is my new number. Please load my number P500 because I will call you.)

I immediately recognized it as a scam text because he/she was asking me to load her. I replied the texter: “How are you doing there in Haiti?” Remember my mother is in Bahrain and I don’t know someone in Haiti. (I’m sorry if I used Haiti, I know they just experienced a bad earthquake there. He/she should know that I already know that he/she’s a scammer because Haiti is in a really bad shape right now.) But guess what, the texter replied:

“ok naman ditto. Paloadan mo na ako ng 500, tatawag ako jan. (everything’s OK here. Load me now the P500, I will call there.)

And then the texter just gave it away, he/she really is a scammer!

Don’t be fooled by these scammers. Here are some tips:

If you know that you didn’t joined any contest and someone texted you that you won, don’t believe it.
Our loved ones from abroad does not use their roaming numbers on texting us and calling us, it is much more expensive if they use the roaming number. The purpose of the roaming number is to receive messages from the Philippines.
If the texter asked money, stop entertaining the text messages. And besides, our loved ones in abroad are there because they want to give us money and not the other way around.
If you are suspicious of the message, text back some trick questions just like what I did, I asked the texter how was Haiti when the fact is, my mom is in Bahrain and I don’t know someone in Haiti.
Be more alert.

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!
Created by Eugene Villar.

Wow! Now I have come to realize that I have never been to Visayas, anywhere in Visayas. Well, we passed through Visayas while we were on the plane going to Davao but I honestly didn’t know what province or island was on our route so I just didn’t put it here. This site is a good find if you want to grade yourself on how much you visited the country.

I’m hoping to fill more color in my map in the coming years!

jabbawockeez radio interview on Boys Night Out Part 1

2010-02-11T18:44:00.000-08:00

Part 1

February 3, 2010—The performers of the MusicFest, Boyce Avenue, Jabbawockeez and Kris Allen were scheduled to have a fan’s day/press conference at the Eastwood City. After the presscon, they will head straight to the station of Magic 89.9 to guest in the show Boys Night Out hosted Tony Toni, Slick Rick and Sam YG. We were waiting for the interview on Magic. The first to be interviewed was the Boyce Avenue. As always, the boys are naughty when it comes to their interviews. After the Boyce Avenue, the Jabbawockeez are next. They played the game “Porno or Combo”, a game that they usually play with their guests. The game went so funny. The boys know their porno. They answered 4 out of the 5 questions correctly. Joe actually know the correct answer for the question which they answered wrong. They even learned a new motto from the boys: “YOU CAN’T DENY THE PINAY!!”

Happy Birthday to my Favorite Wolf!

2010-02-11T08:42:00.000-08:00

As of today, February 12, 2010, Taylor Lautner a.k.a. Jacob Black from the phenomenon Twilight Saga turned 18. He's no longer the boy that we find cute in Shark Boy and Lava Girl, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. I guess we'll now see him doing more mature roles in the future. Happy Birthday TAYLOR! growl!!!
