Jailer 2 has unleashed much required storm for the south Indian cinema. Nelson handles the mass sequel with equal proportion of drama, comedy, action. The comedy in the first half has well praised by critics and ordinary cinema lovers. Of all, Rajini stands tall.

In Kerala, Jailer 2 opened screening as early as 6 am providing enough ammunition to blast in the box office. Nearly 80% screens screened this mega mass movie on the first day. Asha is also having good WOM but yet to kick off in the box office. Directed by Safar Sanal with Urvashi surprising one more time with her immense acting prowess. Grossed around 30 lakhs with a potential improvement in coming days.

I'm game is a disaster in the box office with earing just around 17 Crore in its nine days with little scope in the coming days. Huge expectation but huge disaster. It had mixed WOM but expected to gross a minimum around 25 Crore in the first week. Miserably failed in the week days.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is triple strong in box office creating box office tsunami. 250 Crore worldwide in 15 day is an astonishing feat. 106 Crore with 130 Crore domestic market, rest from overseas.

BKU has shattered all the box office estimates by its unparallel level of box office hunt. 150 Crore from Kerala looks almost achievable considering two weekends it has to shine. Worldwide is most probably in the region of 315 to 325 Crore depending how far GCC can deliver in. With an excellent first week to its credit worldwide this Jeethu Joseph- Mohanlal family thriller has reached one more bench mark 100 Crore domestically. 69 Crore from Kerala while rest of India adding 36 Crore. Karnataka tops in the rest of India circuit with excellent 12.50 Crore while Telugu states contributed an impressive 10.20 Crore combined. In Tamil Nadu the collection is also good with 7.25 Crore.

Globally D3 grossed a whopping $ 11.25 million valued at 108 Crore. Majority of it from GCC with around $ 6.35 million. Total Global is at 213 Crore in 9 days. Excellent figure with an additional 30 to 35 Crore. It seems D3 likely to end less than 250 Crore since occupancy level are decreasing in major areas.

Kattalan opned big in Kerala with an estimated 3.50 Crore but could not maintain it on the following day , posted a less than a crore. The advance booking does not suggest it will have to face rough weather at box office. Big chance of Antony Pepe dash in to box office world went in vain.

Athiradi still holds grossed around 36 Crore a super hit in terms of revenue and returns

Drishyam is the premium brand of Malayalam cinema, a brand created many first bench mark for a tiny industry with its own limitation due to language and boundary. From a thriller surprise way back in 2013, the classic theme travelled to different language with different stars. But one star combination remains impossible to copy and beat , Jeethu Joseph- Mohanlal.

Drishyam 3 is creating waves as expected but more than many might have imagined due to the initial mixed reviews. Released all over the world in relatively bigger way. In India it touched near to 7,500 shows with 3,100 shows from Kerala on the first day. With the excellent pre sales it dominated the Kerala box office on the first day with more than 500 extra late night shows in around 500 plus screens. The first day gross numbers are extra ordinary with 12.45 Crore from Kerala and another 8.50 Crore from rest of India with all language version. In the second day also it has generated heavy collection from Kerala with around 9.70 Crore. 22 Crore in two days.

World wide collection for the two days stands at 86 Crore as per early estimates. Two days advance for the weekend at a staggering 20 Crore. Thus Drishyam 3 has crossed 100 crore in the world wide box office.

Mohanlal has once again enter in century in box office with an eye on double century in the coming days.

Bad luck for Athiradi, it was trending good in Kerala box office with 28 Crore in the first week. After the onslaught of D3 , collection dipped considerably but it still holds good number of screens. Hit for Basil- Tovino combo.

We have almost have a first hit of 2026 ! It better late than never since first three weeks of the new year were full of flops and disasters. Year 2025 was the golden year of Mollywood with industry hit and big blockbusters followed by monthly hits. Expecting 2026 also wonderful for the industry by having a look at the big projects lined up.

Chatha Pacha - The ring of rowdies is entertaining cinema lovers of Kerala. Directed by debutant Adwaith Nayar with ensemble cast of young generation with evergreen generation Mega Star Mammootty in a cameo. Movie based on WWE wresting. Arjun Ashokan , Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair renders dedicated performance. The technical side getting excellent applauds.

Chatha Pacha opened to good to above average WOM. Had a fantastic opening day succeeded by decent second day. Gross is around 5.80 Crore in two days with extended weekend due to Republic day to play major part in collection. Expecting an additional 8 to 9 crore in these three days. First hit of 2026 loading.

Baby Girl - Nivin Pauly after blockbuster Sarvam Maya. Unfortunately it had little to zero hype. It was evident in the first day collection as well. Directed by Garudan fame Arun Varma with script of Bobby - Sanjay . A thriller that has its own moments and down. Collection is on lower side with a gross of around 90 lakhs on the opening day. Advances for the weekend not promising. Hope it may turn the table.

Nadirsha tries one more time with family -comedy genre but not much takers this time. Magic Mushrooms fails to create any impact.

Sarvam Maya - refuses to leave theaters, still enjoys decent occupancy. Kerala gross is crossed 76 Crore and world wide is near to 147 Crore. Can it reach 150 Crore?

We are in to twenty one days of new year but Mollywood is sulking in the box office with no hits so far in the new year. If there was no Sarvam Maya what would have been our theaters were doing?. Bha Bha Ba has grossed 27.50 Crore from Kerala with world wide gross of 48 Crore . Could not withstand the onslaught of Nivin Pauly movie.

Kalamkaval about to end its theatrical run most probably by end of next week still holds on enough to pull on few lakhs each day. Grossed 36 Crore from the state.

Bha Bha Ba - Can it survive ?

Dileep has been various kind of personal and professional set back for last 8 years. His career witnessed deep low in these years barring blockbuster Ramleela. To an extend Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel. Besides these there were few movies showed resistance at the box office but could not sustain. His acquittal from the case has given him new life at the bottom at the same severe adversaries as well. There is big difference in person accused of case and person acquitted from a case.

Bha Bha Ba - Bhayam Bhakthi Bahumanam directed by debutant Dhanajay Shankar penned by Fahim - Noorin. Dileep with cameo of Super Mohanlal along Vineeth and Dhyan sreenivasan.

Bha Bha Ba- as makers promoted logicless , madness movie with enough comedy, mass masala elements. Initial WOM has good but later plunged in to negative territory with massive campaign against Dileep and the movie from certain corner. Regardless of anti campaign , the presence of 'L' factor came in handy for the initial collection. Bumper opening day brushed aside the boycott call largely due to Mohanlal cameo. It ensured big opening day in Kerala as well as Worldwide. With around 450 screens coupled with 2450 shows movie garnered huge 7.20 from Kerala and nearly 15 crore worldwide.

Since the WOM is not encouraging it would have fallen on the second day but surprisingly hold on to box office decently. Two days gross is impressive 10.80 Crore with crucial weekend to decide the box office fate.

Kalamkaval is blockbuster with gross of 34.50 Crore from Kerala and 78 Crore worldwide. Even after triple B release it has very good number of screens and show count across Kerala with potential another two crore possible from the state. Big hit for the mega star to end the year.

Yes, Mega Star is back …. Back with a bang. Its Kalamkaval wave in Kerala box office. The fans and cinema lovers welcomed the biggest actor and star of Mollywood with thumping advance sales. The long absence of Mega star Mammootty comes to end in style. Blockbuster.

Written and directed by debutant Jithin K Jose, Kalamkaval earned excellent WOM in the FDFS while maintained it through out the day unlike other outings of the star in 2025. The booking apps trended at peak level due to superb WOM. The crime thriller with terrific technical support is here to stay throughout the month of this month and in the new year as well. The first day is around 5 Crore with outstanding weekend on cards. Moreover holidays on local body election added advantage to its kitty. Expecting a Kerala first week gross of 35 Crore due to the way of trending. Yes first 100 Crore Megastar in Kerala BO is loading with fire.

Year 2025 is powerful and positive year for the box office in Kerala with big hits even 300 Crore gross movie through Lokah. And some big numbers from 'L' movies. Almost every month there is superhit or blockbuster.

Eko with its good WOM turned in to one more super hit of 2025 with gross collection of 20 Crore in Kerala. Fared bit not up to the mark if you analysis the box office trend. It deserved much more. Never seen a craze of this kind for Malayalam cinema for a Non Big M movies, LOKAH has captured and won the heart of the cinema lovers worldwide irrespective of language. It is not only all time blockbuster in Malayalam but all the other major language in India.

Lokah started slowly but at the fag end of second week it is like wild fire does not want to slow down at the box office. Almost all the screens in the majority of the cinema halls are screening Lokah after it overtaken Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam from the second day itself.

Grossed 200 Crore in the 13th day worldwide while sitting pretty at the box office more to come. Kerala gross is near 70 Crore , moving fast to cross Thudrum final gross. Overseas market produced huge numbers in two weeks itself with promising one more weekend. 11 million dollars in the kitty likely to cross Empuraan easily it seems. The biggest gain from Rest of India market by clocking 35 crore , expecting to gross another 15 crore in the remaining without any trouble.

Its big bang ONAM for Mollywood. One of the biggest seasons, this time delivers an unimaginable level of craze for a movie followed by treat for the family. Undoubtedly this ONAM belongs to Lokah – The chapter one- Chandra. Malayalam cinema proudly present , a female Super hero, fantasy, action thriller, a first of its kind incorporating myth, folklore.

Lokah – Huge budget movie produced by Dulquer Salmaan. Directed by Dominic Arun with the script of Santhy Balachandran and himself. Kalayani Priyadarsh in the lead shines with ample support from Naslen and team. Cameos, treat to watch by adding more flavour. WOM in Kerala extra ordinary cinematic experience. The technical department gets special standing ovation with classic DOP, editing and BGM.

The WOM effect- On the opening day it started on an average range at the box office but ended on fire mode. Second day double stronger than the first with ready to fire maximum in coming days.

Empuraan and Thudarum will be history in few days it seems because we certainly have contender for the Numero Uno place in Mollywood. Two days gross is 6.25 Crore. Spectacular opening with gigantic weekend staring excitingly.

Hridayapoorvam- Sathyan Anthikad – Mohanlal combo ticked one more time. WOM is family feel good. Good first half followed by above average second half. Immediately after the FDFS it was assumed as Laletten’s hattrick at the box office. But the emerging scenario by the end of the day does not look promising. This combo has good potential at the box office if it was a solo release but released along LOKAH fever likely to impact the box office chance heavily. Had good opening day but that too underperformed to some extent. Second day saw nearly 30% percentage drop in the collection. Box office success is in the hands of the family audience since the young generation audience is in front of Lokah. Two days gross is 5.50 Crore. Good opening.

Oddum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira – Althaf Usman breaks the long silence after the super hit Njadukalude naattil oridevela released way back in 2017. In Njadukalude his narrative style of applying humour even on serious issue got accolades. In OKCK also he adopts similar pattern. Fahad Fazil with ONAM winner Kalayani Priyadarshan in the lead. Unfortunately sandwiched among trending movies. Mixed WOM. First day gross is lower side with around 77 lakhs. Crucial weekend to decide make or break. Otherwise theaters to start reducing the shows.

Makers of Maine Pyar kiya deserves bravery award. They were courageous enough to release along with the big names of industry. Opened to a below average with around 22 lakhs.

Coolie - Gigantic opening

We are back after a gap. Silence was largely due to the reason that there were nothing impressive to report on Kerala box office. Any weak box office report is in fact an added negative to struggling industry. KBO face drought of big hits in June and July. To some extent Ronth and Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal produced decent numbers. With the other rights both movies were profitable for the makers.

August has been promising. Sumathi Valavu is hit with securing nearly 16 Crore from Kerala box office with potential one and half crore expecting in the remaining run. Horror comedy genre even though mixed WOM defeated negative reviews from so called movie reviewers in big time.

But real cherry on the cake for theaters across Kerala.... COOLIE

Coolie from Super Star Rajinikanth with sensational director Lokesh Kanagaraj opened to grand numbers in Kerala. It brought festivity to sulking theaters with houseful shows. Majority of the screens were charted with show count touching near to 2700 on the first day.

Outstanding pre -sale with around 8 crore opened the collection flood gate at KBO. A positive WOM would have triggered box office tsunami due to huge expectation and fan following both Rajini and Lokesh have in the state. Unfortunately scenario turned opposite.

Yet Coolie delivered superb numbers on the opening day.

Opening day gross is around 10 Crore followed by good second day. The independence day holiday became shot in arm for this big budget movie since the WOM on the first day were of mixed. Total gross in Kerala is around 15.75 Crore with another 4.5 to 6 Crore from the weekend is possible. Weekdays are crucial for survival in the box office

Most productive summer vacation of the Malayalam cinema in Kerala nearing its completion. Around 675 Crore worldwide so far with promising few more days remaining. Interestingly Super Star Mohanlal’s two movies accounted for the majority of this whopping worldwide gross around 500 Crore from, Empuraan and Thudarum. Alappuzha Gymkhana played a second fiddle by grossing around 70 through all versions, while Marana mass, Bazooka, Prince and family, Padakalam contributed their part on an average note towards this mammoth collection figure. Thudarum has touched one more milestone,115 crore from Kerala and 225 Gross from worldwide. It seems extraordinary box office hunt has compelled the makers to request an extension of OTT release scheduled in 28 days of theatrical run. With around 41,000 shows in the tiny state, it still maintains decent number of screens and shows in its fifth week most probably the last week of its theatrical run. Narivetta , Tovino Thomas hits bulls eye on his acting as well as box office wise. Political thriller drama on real incident gets good WOM. Directed by Anuraj Manohar on the script of writer Abin Joseph bring back the memory of horrific man hunt at Muthanga. Box office wise, in around 250 screens it started slowly but picked up gradually by the end of the day indicating relatively strong weekend on its side. Grossed around 1.72 Crore. Good opening

Detective Ujjawalan , Dhyan Sreenivasan has something to cheer from the box office. His track record of continuous flop and disaster bombs diffused by a decent opening through Ujjawalan. Above average to good WOM is prevailing from the initial shows. Scripted and Directed by Indraneel – Rahul with pinch of humour narrates story of local detective ended up investigating a murder case. Collection wise it is the recent best opening for a Dhyan movie. Grossed around 60 lakhs from in around 150 plus screens. Above average opening.

Prince and family maintained decent numbers with good weekend to its credit. 13 Crore with limited addition due to loss of screens. Average hit.

Padakalam too performed good in the weekend while retaining screens in its third week. Gross is around 9.50 Crore. Average Hit

Unthinkable! Mollywood witnessed an unthinkable but a majestic history unfolded. 100 Crore gross for a movie in Kerala box office. Thudarum has crossed 100 Crore gross in style that too in just 19 days. Mohanlal has done it again for the Mollywood to create new bench mark, new chapter, new history whatever you call.

Thudarum is on a its fourth week that too after completing nearly 36,500 shows with an audience of 65 lakhs watched in Kerala alone. Industry talking about its share not about the total gross because the share itself is unachievable for majority of the Malayalam movies as total gross. Tharun Moorthy will be remembered as the director of the century crore film in Mollywood.

Thudarum is continues golden journey by grossing 105.50 Crore in 22 days. The rest of India with Telugu and Tamil version combined brought an impressive 20 Crore. The overseas gross has touched 90 Crore. Worldwide gross stands at 215.50 Crore with few more to come. All time blockbuster.

Prince and family played a second fiddle to Mohanlal starrer. Yet to utilize its full potential. Decent occupancy in the weekdays was the key to the collection. Still getting around 30% plus occupancy is reasonable by all means. But not enough trigger the uninterrupted flow of family audience. Grossed around 7.40 Crore with potential one more weekend. Dileep’s recent best after Voice of Sathyanathan. Average hit.

Padakalam slowly and steadily moving to hit status with increasing occupancy as the days pass. Getting attention from cinema viewers for the comedy element and novel concept. Gross is nearing 5 Crore with decent second week guaranteed. Average grosser.

Sarkeet is flop. Asif Ali missed the hat-trick at box office. Terrible occupancy even after good WOM. Bad timing of release.

Thudarum- New Industry Hit in Kerala Box Office

Yes we have new Industry Hit at Kerala box office. It is coming earlier than expected. Thudarum is shining brighter than one would imagine. The end result- by the end of the day on the third Saturday Mollywood to brace new Industry Hit replacing 2018.

Thudarum has entered third week on an impressive note. With around 275 screens holding approx 1,350 shows. This is after spectacular second weekend and terrific weekdays. What make huge difference, the way it performed during the weekdays. Around 20 crore from the weekdays of second week, UNBELIEVABLE level of acceptance. It mainly due to uninterrupted flow of family audience to theaters.

Thudarum has grossed approx. 86.45 Crore from Kerala in 15 days in around 27,000 shows. Have great to cross 100 Crore from KBO itself if the third week weekdays provide a minimum 4 to 5 Crore plus even a decent fourth weekend. But at the same time domestic box office has crossed 100 Crore by the excellent rest of India numbers which is at 18 Crore. The worldwide gross is around 190 Crore and to cross 200 Crore easily. Back-to-back 200 Crore for Mohanlal in consecutive months, a rare feat no other stars in Mollywood have. It has also registered 10 million dollar from overseas. But to admit that overseas run is almost on the final lap.

How far it can go? surely unpredictable because … if a Mohanlal movie gets a positive review the never-ending festival starts. So, waiting for more surprises.

Prince and family has opened to reasonable reviews. Dileep finally has break it seems at least on WOM side. But the collection still not up to the mark. Since it is family oriented subject it most probably take some more time to fully reflect. Opened to around 1 Crore with crucial weekend to make or break.

Asif Ali seemed to have just missed hattrick at box office but WOM wise succeeded in big time. Sarkeet lags in box office but wins the hearts. Lack of promotion is largely responsible for the weak start at box office. Grossed around 60 lakhs in two days. Need strong recovery in the weekend to sustain.

Padakalam is having good WOM. Fantasy ,super natural genre with enough comedy. Traded around 70 lakhs in two days. May have 1.70 Crore in the weekend making it to around 2.40 Crore opening weekend.

Thudarum is not a box office trend but an cinema emotion for many. It has certainly brought a section of audience who stayed away from theater watch of cinema. Post covid era , box office has come across several challenges ....biggest one was massive reduction in occupancy during week days. It was rather testimony of lack of interest in theater watch for big chunk of audience. 2018 movie was an exception largely due to the reason it was a movie on heroic survival of Malayalees from the calamity. In this year Mohanlal has brought the audience to theater in big numbers through Empuraan and Thudarum. The former had highest hype and controversy to lift but this Tharun Moorthy sensation without any hype has delivered incredible numbers at the box office. Yes , it is bringing the the reluctant audience in big way!

Thudarum is conquering box office with outstanding occupancy even on weekdays. The weekend numbers were phenomenal considering the number of screens and show count. In the first weekend the gross in Kerala was at 20.50 Crore in next 5 days it grossed another 33 Crore. Earth shattering WEEK DAYS with MAY DAY holiday. Total in KBO stands at 53.50 Crore with extra ordinary second weekend in waiting. Expecting to add a minimum 12 Crore in Saturday and Sunday.

On the other hand in overseas it is trending in par of Empuraan in GCC with number crossed 40 Crore. The GCC collection is 4.9 Million dollar , huge blockbuster. The North America gross is touching 1.2 Million as well. The overseas total is 7.7 Million dollar. The total world wide gross of Thudarum is around 129 Crore. All time blockbuster with potential addition of another 30 to 40 Crore

Malayalee’s Laletten is smashing another hit at Kerala box office after world wide industry hit, Empuraan , the mega biggie might have fall short of expectation but Thudarum has given complete satisfaction for the lovers of the complete actor. Many makers have tried for pan Indian Mohanlal cinema but failed to capitalize, this Tharoon Murthy magic has taken to pan Indian level as many areas outside Kerala bookings are on heavy mode on day two. Projected as a family movie but once released, it has turned out to be one of the best family thriller drama of Malayalam cinema

Thudarum charting was a low-key affair with around 220 screens in Kerala, more over a Friday release. But the excellent WOM has created challenge to the makers to accommodate the demand in increase of shows and screens. Initial shows were in around 50 to 60% range occupancy has transferred in to pool of house full shows by the evening shows. Several extra shows were added due to the huge demand for the tickets. Saturday and Sunday advance bookings are on top notch terrain. First day gross is 5.40 Crore. Excellent start with many more to come.

Alapuzha Gymkhana emerged as the Vishu winner by miles. Grossed around 35.30 Crore from Kerala. One of the biggest profitable ventures of 2025. Holds good number of screens and shows in the third week with potential tw0 to two and half crore in the remaining run. Blockbuster.

Bazooka – flopped with a gross of approx. 13.50 Crore with no scope for further revenues. Another flop for Mega star.

Maranamass – attain hit status with a gross of 12.30 Crore. Fewer screens during initial days were huge setback but managed to pull of a decent numbers.

Empuraan almost closed its business in Kerala. 86.50 Crore with worldwide gross of 265 Crore.
