Well, I created mine today. I am not expecting to have all these material things by December, but if there is anyone out there with a good heart and have lots of money and don't know where to put it, then I will be very thankful if you will grant even one of these wishes.

1. Iphone - or any new phone, since my existing phone is already broken.

Movie Review: Paranormal Activity

We watched Paranormal Activity last Saturday Night (October 31). I was intrigued by the movie because a lot of people says that it is sooo Scary! Some reviews even said that it was the scariest movie they ever watched.

Oh! Oh! I love scary movies and these reviews makes me more excited to watched it.

The story is about a couple who decided to video the things happening in their house. They came up with that decision because they frequently heard noises and felt that something is with them every time they go to sleep. The husband (Mikah) who is so persistent that he can control it and believes that somehow he can come up with an answer to the question on what is bothering them, took videos of himself and his wife (Katie) wherever they would go. They called a Psychic, but when the Psychic said that he can't do anything with it, Micah became more curious and even bought a Ouija board to know what really is the thing bothering them. This action of him made Katie mad, and they constantly fought about it. This negative effect of fighting I think made the spirit stronger. From the usual noises they heard, it became more intense. They saw their door opened and then closed by itself, they saw shadows and unusual footprints, and so on.

I know this review already spoiled your excitement to watch the movie, I'm sorry I can't help to tell it. Overall the movie has a few actions that we normally see in any scary movies but after watching it that is when the effect begin to kick in. I became paranoid when I heard noises and every time I think of the movie, it makes my skin crawl. Well, it's for you guys to find out if you're brave enough to watched it alone or I suggest with friends (I'm not saying that I am brave but I am just curious that's why I watched it hahaha!)

If you like the Exorcist, I think you will love this too. Goodluck!

We have just finished buying some groceries when we saw the ads of Burger King's New BK Burger Shots. It says it's for only P99, so we have decided to try it. To our surprise the actual meal is not quite like what we have expected it. See the picture for yourself.

The actual size of the buns is like a small dinner roll. Although it taste good, still we are disappointed.

My son is my Precious Gift!

The Mommy Moments topic for this week is about the Precious Gifts that your child/children gives you, but since Ren is too young to give me any tangible item, I can say that seeing him smile or laugh and giving me some hugs and kisses are already a wonderful gift any parents could ever receive.

I conceived Ren after 2 years of married life, my hubby and I patiently waited and constantly prayed for a child. We completed the "Simbang Gabi" or the 9 days Morning Novena Mass during the December of 2006, I got pregnant a month after. It's fast right? Praise God he gave us a child, he is a miracle baby because we taught that we will never have a child of our own.

I felt like a complete woman when we finally got him. At the time when I was about to give birth, I chose not to have any anesthesia because I want to feel the pain and the joy of bringing him into this world. I am so proud of myself every time I tell that story, my friends drop their jaw and say "wow", how did you did it? Well I think I'm just lucky.

I gave up my blooming career for my son, and it's worth it..

I already received my 1st Payment from Google Adsense!

After so many months or may I say years of patiently waiting, I already received my payment from Google Adsense . I just reached the minimum amount of $100, last August 2009 and after Google checked if my earnings are legitimate, they have sent me the Money transfer No. that I need so that I could claim it at any Western Union nationwide today. They have their own cut-off to follow that's why this is the only time they have sent me the money.

Today, my son and I immediately went to the nearest Western Union to get the money. When I finally received it, I automatically put half of it to my son's savings account, and the other half is for shopping. I need to buy some new clothes for my hubby and me and I also need to buy new shoes. Ren already had his share last time because some of the money that Noel won from Foldees was spend for him so I know he'll understand that it's mom's and dad's turn this time. Besides his savings account is getting a huge amount already.

The waiting is worth it because I already have it. But, I hope next time it won't take this long to received a payment again from them (I cross my finger).

Recently I joined lots of contests online, and I am loving it already. My husband is the one who keeps pushing me to be active in blog hopping and looking for some contests and freebies, because he himself already won lots of it. Now, my hardwork has paid out, I won one of the contests I have joined, it's the "Red Ribbon White Forest, Writing Contest" by Nomnom Club.

For being the 2nd Placer, I won P2,000 GC from Red Ribbon . I actually dreamed about it last night, but I still didn't expected that I would actually win, because I always taught that dreams are the opposite in real life (well, I guess not all the time).

My entire family is so happy when I announced that I have won, because after we have tasted the Red Ribbon cake (particularly the White Forest) we really wanted to try it again and again and again. Top Most Influential Men of 2009: Is Manny Pacquiao in the list?

This is another good news we Filipinos should be proud of, our boxing champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao made it to the Top 49 Most Influential Men in 2009. He was ranked No.24, and why wouldn't he be? He became the first Filipino and Asian boxer to win five world titles in five different weight divisions. He was rated by the Ring Magazine as the #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. He is also the first boxer to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes. Aside from being a boxer, he has also participated in politics, acting and music recording. He really deserves to be one of those men.

On November 14, Pacquiao is slated to face WBO welterweight champion Miguel Ángel Cotto of Puerto Rico, at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. I am so excited for this fight. Cotto might look big for Manny but remember that David beat Goliath.

Noynoy Aquino: One of the Sponsor of his Ex-Girlfriend's wedding?

I can't believe this; I heard that the couple - Mar Roxas & Korina Sanchez has asked Noynoy Aquino to be their Wedding Sponsor (Ninong) in their wedding this month. Noynoy, for those who don't know is an ex-lover of Korina Sanchez, so I think it is not appropriate to do this thing. The couple said that they originally plan to get the late President Corazon Aquino to be their Sponsor, but since she's already gone, they decided to get Noynoy instead.

It's really awkward for me; Noynoy can be one of the groom’s men but not a Wedding Sponsor. The qualities of a Wedding Sponsor for me is they should be the one who will guide you in your married life and Noynoy himself is not yet married, so how is he going to guide them? Besides, how will he be able to get in the way of the couple if ever they will get into a problem if he has been a part of the Bride's life. (so awkward!)

Anyway, it's their life, so I don't care what they want to do with it. But I want to know your reactions with this, am I just overreacting or I am rational?

This is my first time to join Mommy Moments, and I am already late to make my post because it's Saturday already :) . But it's better to be late than never.

The topic for this week is about tantrums, luckily my son does not throw tantrums often, so if he does, I sometimes panic. He is not yet talking so he cannot express himself yet that's why it is really very hard to tell what's wrong with him. While taking this photo, we didn't know that the reason why he is crying was his diaper was already full and he is not comfortable. We taught that he just didn't want to take pictures with me and his daddy.

He is a very happy child, but I don't know if it will change when he grows up (hopefully not!). I don't want to experience the situation when he will throw tantrums in public places and I cannot control him anymore. He is my first child so I don't have any idea what is the right way to do whenever he will do it in the future. Will I spank him or yell at him like other parents do? Will I just give him the thing that he wants or will I just let him cry and wait for him to stop? Can you give me any advice? I want to know before it happens.

* Restore chlorine-damaged hair

Chlorine from the swimming pool can turn blond hair green or give your hair a distinct smell. The household solution is quite simple: a ketchup shampoo!

Do this in the shower, as it can get quite messy: massage ketchup into our hair and leave it for about fifteen minutes, then wash thoroughly. The green color and chlorine smell are gone.

* Brighten copper pots and pans

When your copper pots and pans get tarnished and dull, don't reach for expensive chemicals. Simply rub ketchup and a pinch of salt onto the copper surface and let sit for about 30 minutes. Rinse and dry for gleaming copper pots.

* Brighten silver jewelry

If you have silver ring, earrings, necklace or bracelet that has gotten a little dull over the years, simply dab some ketchup on it for a few minutes. If it has detailed surface, you may have to use a toothbrush to make sure the ketchup gets into the little crevices. Rinse with water to reveal a shiny silver jewelry.

* Get rid of skunk odor

DePEd: Bought overprice anti-head lice shampoo

Have you heard the news lately? Our Department of Education bought shampoos for head lice at a higher price. The shampoo will be given to Public school students who cannot afford to treat it. I always buy this kind of shampoo because my niece has head lice, so I know that the price of a 1 sachet is between P10-P12 only based on its SRP (Suggested Retail Price). I think DepEd is wise enough to go directly in the supplier and not into the stores to buy that anti-lice shampoo, because if you will buy it directly in the manufacturer or supplier in bulk they will give it to you at cost. The difference in the SRP is around 10-15%, this percentage is the marked up or the profit that the seller (stores) add to the items.

Do I sound geeky now? :) I knew these things because I have worked in the marketing department before as I've said in my recent post.

This Government sector has so many anomalies in the past years. I remember the text book they bought with wrong grammar and spelling (they did not counter checked it), and then the computers that they bought but they just stored it in their warehouses, and now these anti-lice shampoos. I came from a public school when I was in Elementary, so based on my experience, I knew that there are many things lacking in public schools. Like comfortable desks and chairs, laboratories and computer rooms, safe playgrounds and most of all clean restrooms. Some public school rooms does not even have electric fans and even roofs. I think this must be the things our government put our hard earned taxes. But even they have a plan to do it if the people managing it have their own agenda then nothing will really accomplish. They make profit out of every project they are planning. Evil is everywhere in their offices.

I have so many things to say but it's already too long and I don't want my readers to be bored in my self pity stories. I will only give you some tips on how to avoid having head lice.

- avoid situations where there is an intimate contact or personal article like comb, hairbrush, caps, towels etc.
- buy shampoo like Licealiz (this brand is the only thing I remember)
- Washed your bedding and clothes in very hot water to get rid of head lice if you've come across an infestation
- To get rid of head lice infestations, thoroughly vacuum places where people rest often.

How to get rid of Sweaty hands

I hate it when my husband's hands are sweaty, I feel uncomfortable with it, and he said he is too. He even bought cotton gloves when he works in the computer because the keyboards and the mouse gets wet all the time. I know that he even doesn't like to shake hands with others because of his hand,s condition. That's why I have looked for home remedies that will help him control it.

    * Carry a hand towel with you at all times
    * Rub antiperspirant on your hands; use an aluminum-based anti-perspirant rather than deodorant
    * Control your stress through such means as biofeedback. To get through stressful situations at work, concentrate on the second hand of a clock or watch for a full minute, breathing deeply all the while. Or take yourself to a “happy place" in a daydream
    * Lose weight
    * Soak up sweat with talcum, cornstarch, alum, or medicated powder (though this could make matters worse, leaving you with sweaty, caked-up hands)
    * Single-handedly restore the custom of wearing white gloves; change them as they moisten.
    * Sniffle loudly and tell the other party you can’t shake hands because you’re contagious, then keep them hidden

* DTalk to your doctor about iontophoresis, a technique that involves applying low electrical currents to the skin while the hands are immersed in water. We don’t know whether it’s effective, but we have read reports that it’s uncomfortable at best and painful at worst. It must be done daily and is effective (if it is effective) for only six hours.

Recipe for the week: Refrigerated Graham Cake

If you are a budget conscious mom and still want to make your children happy by giving them a slice of cake, then this recipe is for you. We don't have a microwave oven at home so I don't know how to bake cake but this kind of cakes makes a difference, instead of an oven you will only need a refrigerator.

This is very easy to do if you will look at it but if you made some mistakes like not putting the mixture in the refrigerator first before pouring it out in the graham, the presentation of the cake will not look good.

The cost of all the ingredients is merely around P250 to P300 only, and it's good for 5-8 person. You can even give it to your neighbors as a gift this coming Christmas.

Ingredients:
1 pack graham crackers
1 can condensed milk
1 can nestle cream or
thick cream
1 can of peaches or
3 ripe mangoes

Instructions:
Mix the condensed milk and cream. Put it in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes. In a disposable square baking pan line the bottom with the graham crackers. Put the slices of peaches. On top of the peaches, spoon the cream and milk mixture Put another batch of graham crackers on top of the peaches. Spoon some of the milk and cream mixture again. Repeat the same until you have reached the top of the pan. On the very top put slices of peaches. Spoon some more sauce and sprinkle with crumbs of graham crackers

Serving Suggestions:
Serve chilled

New Oatmeal Cookies from Quaker

I saw these items last week when we bought our grocery, I don't know if it's new since we only go to the supermarket once or twice a month. When I saw these, I felt delighted because I don't eat oats, it doesn't agree with my taste buds so I am so happy with this new variety. I remember when I was still working as a Buyer (Marketing Supervisor) in one of the leading supermarkets here in the Philippines, we normally knew the new items that will be launched in the market first, and that's one of the things I missed now. Suppliers also gave us Free samples of their products, that's why I can share it with my family at home. But since I decided to be a stay at home mom I don't have an idea on what's new in the market until we go there and see it for ourselves.

The cookies tastes really good especially the Apple and Cinnamon flavor. I bought one pack with 6pcs. of cookies (2pcs. per variety), it cost P55/pack at Robinson. You can also buy it per sachet, which I think cost P10 each.

You should try it for yourself because as what I always says in my other food reviews, we all have different taste buds : )

While surfing the net I saw this site: SHOP & SHARE, wherein our local celebrities are selling their valuable stuffs for auction here. All the proceeds are going for a good cause. While looking at all those stuffs, I was shocked and didn't expected that Angel Locsin has the highest number of items for auction, out of 29 items, she contributed 11 of it. Everytime I saw Angel on T.V., she looks very simple, some critiques even call her a maid (katulong) because of her clothing st yle, so I really didn't expected that she had more stuffs available here than Kris Aquino.

I felt that Kris Aquino has a lot more stuffs to give because we all know that she loves shopping abroad and buys signature items. Well let's find out if she will donate more in the next few days.

First time experience with White Forest!

We had experienced a lot of Firsts during these past few days, here is our story.

It's been two weeks since we had experienced the wrath of Ondoy. There were many families affected and we were no exception, this was the first time that our house was flooded all throughout. Everything happened so fast and our whole compound was soaked in knee-deep water. And this made a lasting effect on our family until now.

Before this tragedy, our family loves to spend the weekends together. But because of gloomy weather, there are times that we had to stay at home and just watch some movies.

Exactly a week after, I had received a call from my husband asking me to go online and go to the website that he had joined. He is artist and he joins art contests in his spare time. He had joined numerous contests before but this was the first time that he won such a huge amount! I leaped for joy because the Prize would really help us in fixing our house which up to that time still bears the scars of the previous typhoon.

When my husband came home last night, he brought a small red box. My son quickly removed the red ribbon from the box and saw a sumptuous looking white forest cake inside. This is the first time that we bought a Red Ribbon cake. We could see in my son’s eyes his delight in each bite. This is even his first time that he took the spoon from our hands and tried to eat the cake using it! The experience was truly memorable.

Some say that experience is the worst teacher. It always gives the test first and the instruction afterward. Although life has its share of ups and downs, there is no reason not to enjoy life’s little treasures. We should enjoy this meandering and amazing journey called life. Slow down, smell the roses, watch a sunset. Love much, laugh often, and live well. Keep the journey full of wonder, full of love and full of benevolence. These are the secrets to happiness.

I can't believe this, I am listening to the radio this morning and the DJ's are talking about who might be the hottest head of the state (from 172 countries). I bet that our very own President, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo would might land in No.100-180, because I am thinking of the whole package (attitude and physical being). I can't believe that she actually landed in Top9, Wow!!! Great!!! But I don't know if I will be proud of her. Maybe yes!
