I love to travel and especially to dream and prepare when & where I should make my next trip. My latest trip was in April 2011 when I went to Koh Tao in Thailand. My plan was to travel to Koh Tao just a week after the massive flooding had hit many of the Southern provinces of Thailand. So I was concerned that I needed an alternative travel plan.

I started searching for information regarding the flooded areas and how fast the cleaning was going. I found both official websites and blogs from tourists who are living in Koh Tao and Koh Samui, so called “farangs”. The official media was displaying the image that tourists had to be airlifted to safety from Koh Tao. The reality was that even though the ferries had stopped running to and from Koh Tao for a day or two, the damage done to the island minimal. People were helped off the island to make sure that they didn’t miss their flights home.

I’m so thankful to have found these blogs from “farangs” and I can still say: Traveling makes you feel alive!
