Fathers Day - Celebrity Style

2013-06-17T21:06:00.001-04:00

Happy Father's Day to all the real men, who realize there is no greater show of manhood - than taking care of your child/children. Anyone can make one but to really be there for you child to tuck them in at night, rub their tummy when they have a tummy ache, calming them at their first dentist's visit or teaching them to ride a bike. Yes gentlemen, paying child support is great (and appreciated) but actually spending time and being there is what every little daddy's girl/champ needs. Look of The Week

2013-06-09T21:08:00.000-04:00

And the look of the week goes to my female crush.....Rihanna!!

While in Paris this week, our favorite bad girl visited Coco Chanel's famous apartment and wore this pleated skirt and blazer combo. I love the outfit minus the sneakers. Either way RiRi looks great, as always. Maybe our girl will be the new face of Chanel! If so, CONGRATS to her. She definitely looks to have no worries.... #ChrisWho??

NFL player dead at 25!

2012-07-30T16:54:00.001-04:00

O.J. Murdock, a player for the Tennessee Titans, was found by Tampa police today at 830am in his car in front of Middleton High School- where he once went to school. He died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound 2 hours later at Tampa General Hospital.

O.J. was signed last year to the Titans as an undrafted player, but never played in a game due to an Achilles injury.

It's sad that whatever he was going through made him feel like he had to take his life. Our condolences go out to O.J.'s family & friends.

*The NFL is launching a help line for current and former players.

The Buzz

2012-07-26T23:53:00.005-04:00

Olympic hurdler, 29 year old Lolo Jones, has been
getting a lot of press as of late not only for her skills
on the track but for being a virgin. The bi-racial beauty
confessed to being a virgin and has been a topic
of conversation ever since. She says that she is
waiting until she gets married, which I find very
commendable. But why is virginity such "news"?
Could it be because today's society revolves
so much around sex that it is unfathomable
that their are women who are not doing it by choice.
In any case she admits that she is not dating
because most men are just looking to hook up and
are not interested in waiting.

Interesting....
I'm sure there are plenty of players licking their
chops and making plans to conquer! LOL poor
Lolo, she is officially a target. Stick to your
guns girl, we are routing for ya!

Good Riddins!!

Greek track athlete has been booted from the 2012 Olympic games in London for sending prejudicial/racist tweet!

Voula Papachristou

What do ya'll think about this? Read below and weigh in - because there is a lot of debate about whether or not she should have been ousted. I have no words....

Her tweet on Monday read, "with so many Africans in Greece, at least the West Nile mosquitos will be eating food from their own home."

On Wednesday she issued the below apology:

I would like to express my heartfelt apologies for the unfortunate and tasteless joke I published on my personal Twitter account. I am very sorry and ashamed for the negative responses I triggered, since I never wanted to offend anyone, or to encroach human rights.

My dream is connected to the Olympic Games and I could not possibly participate if I did not respect their values. Therefore, I could never believe in discrimination between human beings and races.

I would like to apologize to all my friends and fellow athletes, who I may have insulted or shamed, the National Team, as well as the people and companies who support my athletic career. Finally, I would like to apologize to my coach and my family.

Bolt is Back!!!

2012-07-26T23:15:00.001-04:00

Track & Field fans, Mr. Usain Bolt is set and ready to compete in the 2012 Olympics. He confirmed in a recent interview with the English Press that he indeed had a back injury and aggravated hamstring but is back to normal now. People have been speculating since he lost twice in the trials: in the 100-meter and then in the 200-meter to his fellow teammate (Yohan Blake).

Usain will also be Jamaica's flag bearer tomorrow for the Opening Ceremony. He says,
“My aim now is to become a legend, and that’s what I’m working towards.” The world's eyes will be on him and the rest of the Jamaican Olympic Track & Field team as they are the country to beat! Check your local listings and tune in for the men's 100 meter on Aug. 5th and the 200 meter on Aug. 9th.

No matter the outcome at next month's Olympics, Mr. Bolt will always be a Champion in my eyes!

Awesome Abs!

2012-07-26T20:20:00.000-04:00

Wow Pilar's body is RIDICULOUS! After 3 kids, this 38 year old has abs to die for! I'm so jealous, these pics are going to be my personal inspiration to get back into shape. Ladies take note! (Pilar I would definitely buy your workout plan.)

In other Pilar news: Deion Sanders has been ordered to pay $10,500 monthly in child support and $275,000 for his now ex-wife's legal fees. Even though there are no winners in divorce, I must say Pilar did pretty well. Now I hope they can both move on with their lives and stop with all the drama.

Creflo Dollar Arrested!!!

2012-06-08T16:36:00.001-04:00

Say it ain't so! According to several media outlets - Pastor Creflo Dollar was arrested at 2am this morning in Atlanta and charged with Battery. Right now the details are sketchy but it is said that he grabbed his teenage daughter around the neck and choked her. He posted a $5000 bond and was released.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say she got caught doing something she had no business doing and he had to "yoke" her! LOL. I grew up in a Christian household that firmly believed in "spare the rod, spoil the child". What else could it be at 2am? Hmmmm....very interesting.

Finally a Face to the Name

2012-02-10T19:57:00.000-05:00

Photos surfaced today of baby Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z. Just a few days after Mommy & Daddy were spotted at Daddy's concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC. She's so beautiful and doll-like. Beyonce's genes are definitely strong - wow! They look so happy, congratulations to them again! (And the rumor-mill is buzzing that the Carter's plan to patent and trademark baby Blue's name.)

Side Note:

Beyonce looked fantastic earlier this week at Carnegie Hall, while supporting her man's event. I just want to know what she did to bounce back so quickly. PLEASE TELL ME!!! It took me damn near a year after having my twins to not look pregnant. Some people are just blessed with good genes I guess. And the ring and nails in blue was a nice touch Bey! Loves it.

Want nails like "B"? The polish is called Baker Street by Nails Inc.- according to Lisa Logan, Beyonce's manicurist. But since the hue isn't out yet you can try L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in "Jet Set to Paris", for about $6 at your local drug store.

Au Naturale

2012-02-07T21:10:00.000-05:00

VS

When pictures of "The Help" actress and Academy Award front-runner, Viola Davis surfaced this week - I was pleasantly surprised. She covers the February 2012 issue of LA TIMES Magazine. She looks beautiful! We all know that the "natural" look doesn't work for all of us, but she definitely pulled it off! I actually think she looks a lot better natural than relaxed. Her body also looks great, at first glimpse I though she was a model draped in all that high fashion garb! Whoever styled her did a wonderful job, kudos to them!! You be the judge...

February Hottie!

Tom Hardy, 34

Too Real for TV

2012-01-27T22:14:00.001-05:00

I love a good reality show and VH1's Mob Wives is one of my favorites. Because along with most Americans, I've always been fascinated by the mob and gangsta movies. But today Renee Graziano was rushed to the hospital after news broke that her father Anthony Graziano and several others from the Bonanno Crime Family were arrested in an early morning raid. Renee had a panic attack and was having trouble breathing. I don't blame her since it is rumored that her ex-husband (Hector Pagan or "Junior" as he is called on the show) is the DEA's rat that got her father arrested! Poor Renee, things will get better girl. This is truly a sad situation. Talk about BETRAYAL...Smh.

TYGA TYGA AND BLAC CHYNA

Yes Young Money's own Tyga is dating Miami's MVS (Most Valuable Stripper)! Chyna (who works at the "world-famous" King of Diamonds Strip Club in Miami, FL) has been spotted out all over with her boo. Most recently at the Heat v. Clippers game on Tuesday. Congratulations to them! Hate to admit it but they do make a cute couple. Check out Chyna in Tyga's "Rack City" video, she is his leading "lady" (and i use that word very loosely). Guess the stripper trend isn't gonna see an end this year!

Thanks alot to Amber Rose, Lastarya Tucker and all the other stripper chicks for making all the College girls aspiring to snag a baller - single and lonely. SMH

Haiti 2 Years Later

2012-01-12T23:24:00.002-05:00

Remember.....

On January 12, 2010 the small island was hit with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed approximately 300,000 people and more were injured. It is also reported that 52 aftershocks were felt in the 2 weeks afterwards. The Haitian government estimates over 280,000 buildings (both residential and commercial) were damaged. A million people were left homeless and countless "tent cities" where erected to house these displaced people. Now 2 years later the tents are still there, even though about half of the occupants have moved out and the rebuilding is moving at a snails pace. And Haiti has not seem much of the money pledged by people all over the world due to the country's corrupt government. I say all this to say - Please Don't Forget Haiti! They still need help. I can only imagine what these people have gone through in the last two years.

January Hottie!!

2012-01-10T21:54:00.000-05:00

NORRIS COLE
Miami Heat Guard

Anyone who is a NBA fan or just a Heat fan has seen this rookie's skills. He brings a lot of energy and confidence to the team with his game. Just by his swag alone I should have known that he is a Libra! Yes ladies he was born on October 13 in 1988. He is 6 foot 2 inches and 170 lbs., which you can't tell when you see him on the tube. He looks so young and small compared to all the seasoned players on the court. He inked a 2 year 2.21 million dollar deal with the Heat, I think its safe to say - It was money well spent! The 23 year old comes from Cleveland State where he got a degree in Health Sciences. Not our typical hottie but he is an instant fan favorite whose personality on the court definately says he is of STAR quality and is destined for greatness! All eyes are on the rookie, I see 2012 is going to be a big year for Norris.

Say It Aint So!!!

2012-01-09T20:06:00.000-05:00

Okay guys unless you have been under a rock, you have heard the news that Hip Hop rapper/mogul Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z and his Pop-star wife Beyonce Knowles had their first child, Blue Ivy Carter this past Saturday. Congratulations to them! Im sure lil Blue is a cutey pa-tootie.

Today Jay-Z released a new single called "Glory" commemorating the birth of his baby girl saying "Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you'd disappear/But nah baby you magic." and "The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you." But the sweetest thing about the song is the audio of baby blue crying just minutes after coming into the world. (Click below to hear the song)

*SideNote*

From these two lines I got 2 things: one Beyonce seems so much more normal and human-tragedy does not discriminate, rich or poor it comes to us all and two if the little boy rumored to be Jay-z's son is really his child - this song must be like a dagger in his heart. I'm happy for Jay and Bey but sooooo sad for little man! (BTW that boy looks like Jay...I'm Just Saying!)

How Sexy are your Socks?

2012-01-05T22:31:00.004-05:00

Lots of celebs have been pictured wearing socks with heels. How do you feel about this new fashion trend? Would you rock this style?
Personally I think its tacky. But I've seen many a celeb who are confident enough to make it look good!
Check out the pictures below for ideas on how to rock this style!

At the very least, your toes will be warm!

This Week in Celebrity Gossip

2012-01-05T21:24:00.000-05:00

Happy New Year!!!
Okay ladies and gents, here is a review of what happened this week in Celebrity News!

Erica Mena, video chick/industry jumpoff is outted as being just what she accused Kimbella (Love & Hip Hop/video chick/J. Santana's baby momma) of doing. Apparently she used to be "friendly" with Havoc (from Mobb Deep) and encountered Prodigy in a club and let him "finger-dance" in her lap! *Use your imagination* This girl is a piece of work! I heard she beats up her baby daddy. Really guys? This is what you want? I will never understand....

Dollicia and Drake on the rocks! Yes....already!!! I'm not surprised.

Lebron James finally proposed to long time girlfriend and baby momma Savannah on New Year's Eve and she was spotted at the Heat game rocking her HUGE rock! Congratulations to them. Always thought she was a beautiful, classy lady. Maybe 2012 will be the start of a new trend - Marrying instead of "shacking up"! I'm all for that.

**RumorMill - Beyonce is still pregnant! (Who cares? Apparently you guys do! LOL) Jay-Z spotted out of state at a college basketball game. Even though he is not the best dad to his current son - I doubt he would leave his wifey all alone after just giving birth. It is reported that he flew back to NY right after the game to be with Bey.

Basketball Wive (I use that term loosely), Laura Govan pictures surfaced showing her and on again off again baby daddy/boyfriend Gilbert Arenas partying for NYE. But the noteworthy thing is not that the two were out but that Laura looks like she FINALLY lost that baby weight!

Cynthia Bailey (Atlanta Housewife) covers Denim Magazine and may I add - chick looks stunning! A far cry better than on the show.

Black Mafia Family wives get their own reality show??? Spare me please! Sidenote: Wonder how Big Meech feels about this?!?!

Angela and Vanessa Simmons owe $450K in back taxes? Who is managing these girls' finances? It seems that when people become rich they forget that Uncle Sam has to get his cut! C'mon ladies please do better! SMH

Amber Rose finally confirms rumors that her and Kanye West broke up because of Kim Kardashian! Yes Kim K. cheated on then boyfriend, Reggie Bush with Kanye! Two years later Amber decides to let us know what everyone already guessed. But thanks Amber, I'm sure Kim's lawyer will be contacting you shortly! LOL These people are pure comedy.

In other Basketball Wives L.A. news, Imani Showalter has a new body. Guess while the rest of America was stuffing their faces with all that delicious Holiday food, Ms. Imani was working it out in the gym! She looks great. But I thought she was much classier than this. Posting pictures on Twitter now Imani? *tisk tisk*

Welcome to 2012 ya'll may all your hard work payoff this year. After all, not everyone can be a celebrity!

4 Game win Streak!

2011-12-30T22:34:00.001-05:00

Go Heat! Heat wins against Minnesota Timberwolves in the clutch. Final score Miami 103 over Minnesota 101. We love you!!!!! We dodged a bullet y'all. Lebron James was our MVP of the night with 34 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. Happy 27th Birthday too boo! Great game guys!

We are going all the way this year so all you Heat haters can go suck and egg! LOLOLOL

Party Up!

2011-12-30T22:12:00.000-05:00

Hello all it's Mimi checking in! I know its been a very long time, almost a year since my last post. But I'm back and for those who don't know I come from Jamaican heritage. So what better way to come back than a post about a fellow Jamaican!

Our friend and Jamaican National hero, Usain Bolt was seen on Wednesday partying with plenty of the ladies. He was drinking from a bong and having a great time. Can't say we blame him! It's the holidays, no better time to be alive. Check out the pics of Mr. Bolt enjoying himself below (pictures courtesy of TMZ).

Looking good Usain! The pictures are of a Sandbar beach party in Kingston, where our friend rolled up in style on a Yacht. Life is Good.

Breaking News

2011-04-24T13:06:00.000-04:00

Local NFL star rushed to hospital after being stabbed!

When I saw that headline i just assumed he had gotten robbed. But that was not the case...
Apparently Brandon Marshall, a receiver for the Miami Dolphins was stabbed by his wife Michi Nagomi-Marshall last night. The newly-weds had conflicting stories about what occurred. He told police that he fell on a vase while his wife said that she had stabbed him but in self defense. (She is currently in custody at the Broward County jail on a $75,000 bond.)
But the real "tea" is that Brandon has had domestic issues in the past with his former girlfriend and even got suspended for the remainder of the season for “violating the league’s personal conduct policy”. This story is just sad on all accounts! I guess looks can be deceiving! The seem so happy together in their wedding picture. With that said domestic violence is NEVER okay, please seek help if you are in an abusive relationship before someone ends up hurt, in jail or even dead.
