When I received the fb notification on my mobile with the word "PAST", I knew right away something bad had happened. Was totally shocked to know that my F6 friend, Weng Hoe past away on Sunday. One would never ever expect a 24 years old cheerful person to have just leave in such short notice. It immediately brought back lots of memories of F6. We weren't close before, not until even graduation. But my group of girls always tease him from behind, which I guess he totally knew about it, but was not bothered at all. In fact, he was always helpful and cheerful whenever you ask him for a favor or whenever you walk around him. It makes me guilty to think back. why was I treated him that way. Although I did not say it in front of his face, but still the guilt feeling was pretty bad. This incident really woke me up, urging me to only say good things about people and never bad things (at least not in a way that it will hurt people). You would not know when you will lose that person in your life, as life's just too short.

Tears couldn't stop when I heard his mum's wailing of how much her heart hurts. I know that feeling very well. It's a feeling that will never heal in time, because he is your love one, a position that will never be filled by anything else. When I just stepped in the parlor, somehow I was not afraid of walking forward to say goodbye to Steven. He was lying peacefully in the coffin. I know something, he has gone to a better place. He has gone to heaven. A place with no sorrows and tears. I don't know why I have such a thought that, living is more suffering than dying. It's always the living who are suffering. The loneliness that one has to bear to not to be able to hear the voice, feel the existence of your love one that's sad. I hope God is with Steven's family, to help them go through the darkest moments in their life, to help heal and to let them to a new beginning. Christmas will never ever be the same for the Lam family. My thoughts are with them.

Department lunch! Woo hoo! As a newbie, I'm assigned to be CEO of the department. Booked Dragon-i and got Nicole a birthday cake. The lunch was not only a department lunch, but also FongK.'s farewell and Nicole's birthday :)

Was so funny when I was at Lavender cake shop. I forgotten to ask for budget and size. And gosh cakes nowadays are so bloody expensive! At the end of the day, I've choose a really small, TOO small in fact, chocolate moist cake, Halloween themed. It's really too small for 9 people, with 3 guys! ouch. Sorry people. I shall improve next time :)

Went there alone after good recommendation from Zhen. First of all the location of the place is total crap and gps made things worst. Just when I was going to give up and go home, luckily my sharp eyes saw Jln Satachan at the traffic lights.

The cast are pretty good. Singing is pretty good. But the storyline wasn't brilliant. The script writer included too much of her life in one single play. There wasn't a focus which makes me wonder what's the theme of this show? Is if the love life? The frustration of her even getting the throne? The ambitious evil side of her life? None was explained, which is a great pity.

Was so surprised with the stage! Its do small! But sufficient for the play I think. Makes me miss British musical theater so much. xx

Today is the day to face the music! Thanks to Ms. Cheong for arranging Ivan to 'guide' me, and also her text to him about me is really heart warming. During the whole course, I have mix feelings about the people in the company. Definitely not the most friendly people on earth. I mean if I m in their position, knowing that a person is alone and new, I would definitely invite her to my group, the least is to invite her to lunch together loh!!! But I was so being ignored the whole day. SIEN!!!!!!!! I'm still glad I attended the event. Got to know a few people from different departments. And my potential car-pool partner, Lila (I think). She's so pretty!!!! Like celebrity!!!

The day ended with a terrible traffic jam! All the way from Putrajaya to Damansara! Poor Ming Zhu sitting next to me getting all nausea from sickness and jerking from bus. 2 freaking hours for 30min drive! Due to the jam, I purposely had my dinner in office and walk around Daiso :D

An absolute knackered day! Running up and down, in and out.Looking forward to Monday's work.

First team meeting

The meeting turn out to be not too bad. At least from my understanding, I understands 60% of what they are talking about, whether is it right or wrong will be another story. haha. Really hope that I can excel in work and do good for my future.

It was great to meet up with Chiew Shi. I honestly do not think that she's changed. Getting wiser perhaps. Love to meet up with her and have a good meal! Something better than food court. ANd it was a pleasant surprise to bump into grandaunt in 1U. and she and granduncle treated me dinner :) Feel so blessed to have such loving people to love you by your side. God please take good care of uncle during his chemotherapy.

Things you don't want to miss in life

I've put some thought in life lately. Might be because of orientation from work, might be family members. Many aspects in life came into consideration. Suddenly I feel that my decision to come back might be the most correct thing.

If I would to stay back in the UK, I would have missed the lovely time with my little niece who's adorably cute and lovable. I won't have the experience of her calling me Mandy-gugu, Mandy-gugu mei mei when I'm in my pretty dresses, Mandy-gugu's papa Stitch and baby pink Stitch, Mandy-gugu playing cook cook with her. And my loving grandma who has aged a lot, I don't know how much time I have to spend with her in this life, and I would like to treasure all these memories dearly. And work's orientation is showing a pretty promising future ahead of me, there is plenty of opportunity and growth IF I'm good enough (of course I have to be good enough to get the role). And my poor two little babies who have definitely AGED GREATLY! Secondly my decision to complete my professional papers would definitely post a great challenge to me, financially and morally. During such challenging moment, having the support of family is so precious.

All these factors sort of pointing to one conclusion, Mandy your decision to come back and start your career seems to be pretty valid, at least in your case. I would definitely have missed the wonderful spending and holidaying around EU if I ever had the chance to secure a job over there. But then the trade off will be precious moments of family time, and opportunity to grow my career in a less competitive environment.

What I can do now is to stay focus, and aim to achieve my goals and just pray for the best for myself and my family.

I honestly feel that it's a pretty good orientation, not too much of team-work thing going on, instead an good introduction of what the company will be able to provide you, and what you can expect from the whole thing. Of course they can't tell you in detail what exactly is going to happen to you, but it sort of mentally prepare you for challenges ahead. I really love the quote by the CEO, "Growth and comfort doesn't coexist". It's a motivation for me to take up challenges, and its this quote that reassured me that my decision to proceed with ACCA will be worth every single ounce of my energy. The only question now is, will I have the determination to do it.

Davis mentioned about getting a mentor, and immediately my second interviewer, Mr Grill came into my mind. I felt really honored to be interviewed by someone so important in the company. I have lots to prove I think, to Miss Cheong and Mr Grill that their decision to take me on board is absolutely spot on RIGHT :)

I wouldn't understand the feeling of being snatched until I experience it myself. and boy the feeling is scary. Until this very moment, I can still feel it vividly the force that was used to pull my bag and how my whole body has shaken. What annoyed me the most is that the fact that how inconsiderate the society has become. It was obvious that the guards saw the whole thing and the fucker was literately lying on the floor, right in front of the entrance, yet no one even bothered to come forward to help catch him.

I really wish the guy fractured his knee and he will suffer when he grows older, or even better NOW!
