Of course, the craze about Derek's love for Anna Banana ends, but at least Aria is there for him.

PLDT did an amazing job in creating a sequel for every commercial they are releasing about Lorenzo's family. I see different values in each movie and how PLDT can be an avenue for families to grow together.

FAST:

This first video would show how loving his mom, by watching the video from time to time to have more views for his son. These children should gain confidence at an early age for them. With a fast connection from PLDT myDSL, Derek wouldn't think that his family would do this for him. The service of PLDT is Fast.

RELIABLE:

The second video would show how Anna Banana "busted" Derek through a video reply. The family members of Derek were very worried about this. The video surely hurt the feelings of Derek. Derek's family becomes reliable at this time, when Derek needs them most.

AXE Philippines currently released their commercial, but a lot of scenes from that commercial is actually censored!

So, I made an effort to look for the full version in the web :)

Well, if you are curious, this is the Censored Version of Axe.

I have read several speculations on why the video was being cut.

The scenes were very chaotic
MTRCB blocked it
A strategy of Axe to make people curious, so you'll go to their facebook site.

The strategy of AXE were very good! It actually made the BOYS NIGHT OUT guys ...... "Bitin"

Boracay! - Gear Up Edition

Hi there! I know that this post should be published before I went to Boracay. But then, I don't have a blog that time so, i'll just share this to you guys now :)

Boracay is known for their white sand beaches, awesome sunsets and different water sports adventure.
You must know what are the things that you should pack in your Backpack :)

So whenever you are going out of town/country, Create a checklist.

What's on my checklist?
The usual stuff:
1. Set of clothes
2. Toiletries
3. Medicine
4. Plastic Bags ( for used clothes)
5. Towel
6. Flashlight ( during teambuildings only)
7. Whistle ( if like Hiking or what)

To fully maximize your beach experience, here are my suggested list of materials that you should bring with you :)

1. Sunscreen/ Sunblock

Why do you need this?

It can decrease the chances that you'll get sunburn :)
You can prevent Skin cancer cause by UV rays. #creepy

About SPF:

The SPF number that you can see, doesn't imply the effectiveness of a Sunblock from blocking the UV rays. Some people may say, that the higher the SPF number, the effective it is.

The SPF( Sun Protection Factor) - is actually a multiplier stuff, say your skin can take 10 minutes before it gets red from direct sunlight, then you have a sunblock that has 30 SPF, so 10mins x 30 = 300mins. That's the number of minutes that your sunblock will remain effective :)

Trivia told to me by my friend:
After being exposed to direct sunlight, when your skin gets red ----> It's hard for you to get dark
Else, if your skin gets dark right away, then It's easier for you to get dark.

Please buy one before going to beach, coz they are quite overpriced, when it comes to sunblocks :)
I saw there that their BANANA BOAT 80 SPF is 495 pesos.

2. Sunglasses

Why do you need this?

It will protect your eyes from UV rays
Comfortable to the eyes ( doesn't let your eyes see too much brightness)
It's fashionable :)

Does your sunglasses perfect for the shape of your face?
Oval shaped Faces - Most style will work for you
Rounder Faces - Avoid Round Frames, but rather straight or angular shapes
Square Faces - Slightly rounded frames will do
Triangular Faces( Broad forehead, narrow chin) - Try a thin rimmed sunglasses :)

3. Waterproof Bag

Why do you need this?

It will not let your things get wet, while having fun in the beach :)
It's light

I didn't bring one, when we went to Boracay. On the day of our Island hopping, I am forced to buy one from a store near our hotel. The salesman said, the bag costs around Php 100.00. I tried to haggle it for like 50-80 pesos, but he didn't lower the price.

I bought this thing, because i remembered in one bazaar that, something similar to this, costs around 120/pc.

Given that fact, plus the Boracay being imprinted in that bag, made me decide to buy 1. :)

4. Waterproof Camera

Why do you need this?

You can have underwater shots
You can bring it with you in the beach, pool, etc.
You would capture all your fun moments ;)
These kind of cameras have dust proof, shock proof, Freeze proof also

I have a Sony TX-10, after reading several blogs and posts about which camera to choose. I picked this one. :) actually, I used a site recommended to me by one of my favorite blogsite for gadgets :)

My favorite: YOU CAN EDIT THE IMAGE RIGHT AWAY ( Crop, Paint , etc. )

I seriously, LOVE USING THE CAMERA! :D

5. Body Bag

Why do you need this?

So you can still carry you valuable items with you, even if you are wearing a Board shorts (w/o pockets)
You can bring a lot of stuff with you( wallet, camera, cellphone, Itouch, etc.)
Light and Handy

This is the bag that I used in our Borcay trip.

Inside my bag, I have these following items with me :

Cellphone
Itouch
Wallet
Monopod
Ice Breaker Candy ( Try This!)
Waterproof Camera

There! I have those things near to me, so that if i need to take a pic on something, call someone, Listen to my favorite song, buy something.

You may say, that it might be heavy?
-> you can pack light! :) On my 2nd day, I removed the following items, wallet, Monopod, Candy and Itouch :) Instead of using a wallet, i just got my cash instead :)

6. Monopod

For me, a monopod is something you must have in order for all of you to be in the picture :)

Why do you need this?

Everyone can join the picture
It's lighter compared to Tripod
Smaller - easy to carry
You can rotate it, up to 180 degrees

We'll I ordered my monopod a day before our trip, I got it for Php 850.00 from sulit :)

I was actually choosing between an 850 pesos worth of Monopod, or the 1300 pesos worth of Monopod w/ accessories ( it can stand alone).

What made me decide to buy the 850 pesos one:

It's cheaper
Stainless over Aluminum (aluminum metal corrode faster)
Meeting place is near my area, the other one is in Makati/Ortigas ( i forgot)

Vikings - A Birthday Dinner

Vikings is one of the famous Eat-all-you can restaurant in the Metro Manila. It is located near SM Mall of Asia, that offers buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This is actually one of the few eat-all-you can restaurant that I usually go. They have different types of food from chinese, japanese, grilled, and many more. I will discuss later about the different sections that Vikings have.

We were invited by my father's aunt, since it was her birthday. Since it was a Chinese tradition to wear red during a birthday celebration, so all of us are wearing red and we really stood out.

Enough about me, I will now tour you around Vikings :)

1st Stop: Entrance

Viking's personnel will welcome you and your guest with a smile, while asking you if you have any reservation.

Yes! it's important to have a reservation, especially during Fridays, and Weekends. It is usually fully book, you have to wait for 1-2 hours before you can take a seat.

If you are lucky enough that one of the reservation slot has been cancelled, then keep in mind that other people are also with you falling in line to eat. So better be early.

Do reserve early, I recommend at least a week before your visit :)

They offer different kinds of sushi, like Salmon, california maki, Hawaiian roll, Futo Maki, Spicy Tuna Roll, Avocado Wrap, Etc.

Station 3: Chinese food:

They offer different kinds of dimsum: Siomai, Hakaw, Shark's Fin, etc.

They also have Miso soup, Roasted Duck, Pancit Canton.

On our visit, instead of roasted duck, they offer turkey duck.

Station 4: Bread and Salad

On the left side of the breads are 2 kinds of soup depending on what they serve. On our time, they served Pumpkin soup and something else. :) Sorry i forgot the other one ;)

Station 5: Salad

These section gives the customer the opportunity to mix and match the ingredients they preferred in their salad ;)

Station 6: Drinks

I do not have a photo for this one but, i can still remember what's there ;)

The Drinks that you can have are:

Station 7: Finger Foods

Aside from this classy looking finger foods, they also have assorted cold cuts food ( chinese food) - jellyfish, century egg, etc.

They also have Tacos, with different dips you can mix and match :)

Station 8: Rice
I don't have any photo for this section, but basically it has variety of rice being served. They have plain rice, garlic rice, friend rice, etc.

Aside from rice, they also have other food being offered like Lemon chicken etc.

Every time I eat at an eat-all-you can restaurant, I dont usually eat rice :) so that i could try a lot of dishes. :)

Station 9: Pasta and Pizza

Something that is special here, is that you can ask them to cook a pasta for you.

Procedure:
1. Go to this station
2. Choose your Pasta: ( Spagetti, Fettucine, Penne)
3. Choose your Sauce: Tomato, Cream Sauce, or olive oil/butter
4. Choose your Condiments: garlic, onion, fresh basil, bacon, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, parmesan cheese.

As for their Pizza, they usually offer 2 kinds only. One would be the Vikings' Special and one could be a Pepperoni.

Station 10: Grilled and Kebabs

You can order for a grilled salmon, lapu-lapu, squid, etc. They will deliver it to your Table.
So you better take note on what seat you are. :)

Station 11: Steaks

You can order there and wait for your steak. This picture is for their display purposes only.

When you order for a stake, it doesn't have any side dish :)

But the steak is yummy :) so better go to this station! :)

They will sing so loud so that other customers will hear it :) It's really funny to have this ;)
I just remembered how my cousin fooled me by, asking them to sing for me, even though it wasn't my birthday. I just go with the flow.........

Boracay has several types of activities prepared for its guest! Adventure seeker can try para sailing, kite boarding; Party people, can dance all night in different bars in stations 1, 2, and 3; Normal People could enjoy the beach and build sand castles.

In this edition, I'll discuss what different activities you can do, and where you can buy souvenirs . It's quite few since three (3) days is so short for a Boracay trip.

Jonah's Fruit Shakes! - MUST DRINK!

Mango Lemon, Avocado Mango and Mango Banana)

These Fruit shakes have several combinations you can choose from. The price of each bottle ranges from Php 90.00 up to Php 115.00.

The shakes are fantastic! It's one of the best shakes I ever had!

You can really taste the fruit, not like other shakes where the ratio of fruit to ice is 30:70. I think the ratio in this shake is 75:25. Your penny is really worth it!

Club Paraw - MUST GO!

Club Paraw is located in Station 1.

As we are looking for Jonah's Milkshakes, we passed through this club and the songs being played are GENIUS! Even on a 6pm time, there were already people dancing :))

Club Paraw has spacious place for your barkada to hangout. They have their happy hour until 10pm, where drinks are cheaper.

KAMIKAZE DRINK - Php 600 to Php 430

SanMig Light - Php 80 pesos per bottle to Php 300 for a bucket of 6

and the like.......

Of course, we weren't able to avail the happy hour promo, since we arrived there at around 11pm.
Yet, it was still a fun night!

I just don't recommend you guys eating there because the price is not worth it for the taste.

Souvenirs - MUST HAVE

Buying souvenirs was my top priority in my trip. I have read several blogs about different souvenirs that i can find around Boracay! Here are the souvenirs that I bought:

1. Lonely Planet Shirt

Shirt Price: Php 820.00 for white ( XS-XL)

The shirts here are handmade and it requires 2-3 hours working time (No pending shirts for them).

If you are planning to buy one, order it 2 days before your departure date. This is to make sure you can have it on time. We were just lucky to have it hours before we leave Boracay, since we only ordered the night before.

Black shirts are more expensive than white shirts, while female sized shirts are cheaper than male sized shirts.

There are 3 branches that I saw around Stations 1, 2 and 3. So if ever you miss the first store, you'll find the next branch.

Just keep in mind, that each lonely planet shop has their own artists and their specific design.

2. Island Souvenirs

Island souvenirs offers personalize shirt that is cheaper than Lonely Planet. If you love "I <3 BORACAY" shirts, then you will surely love this store!

They have shirts where you can put your name on it. "Mark <3 BORACAY" with a cool font style.

Each small shirt is only Php 119.00.

Shirt prices are:

White: Php 300+

Black: Php 400+

Colored: Php 500+

There are 2 branches of Island Souvenirs around Boracay, one is in D'mall the other one is in Station 2.

Due to limited time, i wasn't able to order one, instead I just bought a small scale shirt from them as a souvenir :)

I've talked to the cashier if they do ship the personalize shirts, and the answer is Yes! I just have to add Php 160.00 for the shipping cost.

3. D'Mall

D' Mall offers several souvenirs from Keychains, to bags, to Boracay Shirts, Otap, etc. D'mall also have different boutiques like Caterpillar and FILA.

Some stores offer 8, 7 and 6 keychains for 100. So you should look for the one that offers the most.

Other stores have keychains that are 3 for Php 100. these keychains are not present in these photos, since i'm not that impressed with the quality of it.

Tips:
1. Do not forget to ask for a discount or a free gift, whenever you buy a lot from that store.

2. Try to speak in Filipino. Even if you are a foreigner, try it because they usually offer a large discounts to those who they think are locals.

3. Never be afraid to leave a shop in thinking that other stores might not have it.

Boracay - D' Expense Edition

Boracay is one of the most visited site here in the Philippines that is usually composed of foreign and local tourist. Nowadays, several coupon deals are offering cheap flights and accomodation going to Boracay for 3 days and 2 nights .

Yes! we tried one, and it is really cheap especially during Peak season :)

From Metro Deal Site

We bought our deal in Metro Deal last October 2011, and the price then
was 5999. The price now is cheaper compare to last year :(

Don't get so rush in buying those deal, since after 20 hours, they will restart it once again. This is their marketing tactics, to pressure the buyers from buying it right away. :) #smart

The Php 4999 Boracay package includes the following:

Airfare ( Most probably- ZEST AIR)
Lodging for 3 days and 2 nights at La Carmela de Boracay (Station 2) - Standard Room good for 4.
Set Breakfast

So basically that's what they offer in that deal. In our deal, there's an additional buffet dinner.

A standard room would only have the following:

Shower Area ( no bath tub)
2 Queen size beds
No interior design

* I wasn't able to take a picture of the room since, standard rooms are full when we arrived. We were transferred to a Executive room. In an executive room, they just add some interior, balcony, and bath tub. It is 1,000 pesos higher than the standard room, but we get it for FREE since all Standard rooms were full.

There are several payment to keep in mind when traveling. In Boracay, here are some of the additional cost you will incur:

Terminal Fee ( Going out of Manila) ----------------- Php 200.00
Environment Fee ------------------------------------ Php 75.00
Terminal Fee ( if you are riding the boat ride) -------- Php 50.00
Terminal Fee ( Airport, leaving Boracay) ------------ Php 40.00

Total: Php 365.00

One disadvantage of the 4999 deal is that, it doesnt have any airport transfer. We then, shoulder the costs.

Total: Php 525.00

The Multi cab ride is good for 11 persons, but we were able to fit 12 people. If your group is less than 11, you can choose to ride the tricycle, it can fit up to 6 people at Php 120.00.

The standard capacity of this ride is for 12 people ( including the driver)

These prices were gathered last April 2012, it may change depending on the season. So the next time you'll visit Boracay, don't forget to prepare some money for these costs so that you'll have plenty to spend for leisure.
