What better time to end a busy prosperous year and start thinking about an even more prosperous one? That's right! This is the ideal time to start thinking and planning ahead for all the exciting possibilities for holiday sales, the upcoming year, and the overall growth of your business.

What do you have planned to grow your business?

What can you do to boost your income for the holidays?

What are your plans for your customers?

What are your business goals for the coming year?

Yes, a lot of questions, and ones that are so easy to procrastinate until another day. Well, this is another day. These are things you currently need to carefully consider. Your success essentially depends on your future plans. So, what will you be doing for your business?

Below are some simple tips to think about

* Send out holiday greeting cards graced with your logo. I think it adds more of a personal touch if you add a handwritten message inside your card along with your signature instead of a typed one. Also, always include a business card inside the holiday greeting card.

* Send out a special holiday newsletter to your customer base. Include your best tips along with specific holiday sales. This is the time of year to show your customers you really care by offering generous discounts on special products and/or services.

* Have a holiday contest and offer real prizes to draw in targeted traffic. The contest could entail many things depending on what your business is about. I've seen many forum contests that have been successful and they range from various types . Another idea that works well is creative writing contests, these could involve articles, blog posts, poetry, and the like. Perhaps a fun trivia contest would be a hit with your audience.

* If you have products available online, offer free shipping for a limited time throughout the holiday season. This sale booster always gets the interest of online shoppers. Always include your business card along with the shipped product.

* If you own a website and offer advertising space, have a discount sale on a select few of your ad options. Everyone is looking for reasonable advertising around the holidays. Extend the sale into the new year as well. I have found people are looking for new target places to advertise in January.

* Include a freebie with your holiday sales. This could be a gift card, an ebook, or anything you can offer for free that benefits your business.

* If you're involved with article marketing and are consistently writing for your business, incorporate your articles into an ebook. You can either sell the ebook or offer it as a freebie to your customers.

* Provide extra special customer service! This in itself is the most important aspect of your online presence. This should be practiced all year round. Good customer service is crucial to your business. If you don't show your customers good service, then you may as well not have a business in the first place.

Here are some suggested business goal tips to consider for the new year

* Make your goals realistic. However, you should set goals that give you the initiative to surpass what you actually think you can easily achieve.

* Put your goals in writing and post them where you can easily see them daily.

* Join at least one new social network in the new year

* Make it a point to stay more in contact with your customers

* Try and incorporate more creativity into your marketing plans

For the new year, I will be spending more time in consistently adding more content to my website and blogs and more time on article marketing.

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

Need advertising for the holidays or anytime of year? Right now the focus seems to be on Private Label Rights (or PLR) articles. PLR articles are pre-written and sold in packages to online businesses looking for content. The big selling points of PLR articles are that you may edit the articles and that there is no author bio required (so they don’t have any outbound links).

Compare PLR articles to free reprint articles. Free reprint articles from places like ezinearticles.com or freeaffiliatearticles.com are written by people who have something they’d like to share. (Or, they are sometimes written by people just publishing junk, in the hopes that they’ll get some incoming links. But, good article directories will delete those, so we’ll focus on the good ones here.)

So, which is better? Honestly, each has its place. Sometimes you’ll find an excellent free reprint article that you’ll want to share with your readers and you won’t mind a bit having an outbound link, especially if there is an affiliate program associated with it. The free reprint article added value to your readers, and you didn’t have to write the article. That’s what free reprint articles are all about.

Other times you’ll already have an idea in mind for a topic and you’ll just want a boost getting that section of your website done. If you run across a high quality PLR package on that niche, you’re set to go.

So, how do you know which PLR service or membership to choose? Here are some guidelines to follow:

1. Some PLR sites offer a monthly membership where you receive a grab-bag of articles – on any topic. If you already know what you need, this may be a waste of money. Other PLR sites will list topics and you can buy the articles in a shopping cart. That ensures you receive the articles you need when you need them.

2. Are the articles written by professional writers with experience? Or are they outsourced to the cheapest overseas help they can find – no matter the quality? If the articles are going to be a reflection of your business, you’ll want to ensure that the articles are well-written.

3. Who’s running this thing? Is the PLR site run by someone who knows about content or someone who thinks they can ride the content wave and make a quick buck? Make sure you’re hitching your wagon to someone who knows what they’re doing.

Those are just a few tips to keep you from wasting money on a PLR site that you can’t use. Continue to use free reprint articles, but look into PLR articles as well. They can both benefit your website and your business.

Nicole Dean invites you to check out EasyPLR.com – where you’ll find high-quality PLR articles on niches sold in very limited quantities.

I, personally, recommend this site for all your PLR article needs.

Charged For Working At Home?

Let's take a look at what the word "charge" means.

The first 4 results for The Free Online Dictionary; Thesaurus and Encyclopedia says...

1. To impose a duty, responsibility, or obligation on
2. To set or ask (a given amount) as a price
3. To hold financially liable; demand payment from
4. To postpone payment on (a purchase) by recording as a debt

So, if the word "charge" means the above, I think this means exchanging currency (money) for a work at home job. Yes, that's what that means alright. ;)

Wait a minute...something is just not kosher about the above statement. In fact, it makes me royally disturbed thinking about it! It amazes me that so many people have not caught onto these well-known scams and lies that cloud around the Internet like a grotesque swarm of flies.

Many people are disguising themselves as a reputable person or company and scamming these innocent people that just want to make some money online. What's even more amazing is that these people are continuing to get away with it!

Let's get with the program here.

The ONLY fees that should be attached to working at home are the examples below:

1. Some legitimate companies will require a background check before hiring you if you will be dealing with sensitive information. There is usually a fee for a background check.

2. A lot of customer service positions will require a headset, and maybe some software.

3. Most transciption work positions require a foot pedal that connects to your computer.

If a telecommute (work at home) company asks for any start-up fees or membership fees to get started...be aware that they are most likely trying to scam you.

I certainly hope you are not being charged for a work at home job. If you are, double check with the above 3 examples of legit fees to rule out scam.

Always do your own research on any job leads that you see. You can do that by typing the company in question into the sites below:

http://www.fraud.org/

http://www.scambusters.com/

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/scam_alerts/scam_alerts.htm

http://www.econsumer.gov/english/

http://search.bbb.org/

http://www.ripoffreport.com

You can also type the company name and the word "scam" behind it into www.google.com and if it's a scam company, the scam will show in the results.

Two Ways to Keep Your Business Running Smoothly Through the Holidays

The holidays are right around the corner. Many business owners find it challenging to run their business while getting through the holidays. I think Michelle approached this topic well and she offers some great tips. Thanks for a wonderful article! =)

By: Michelle Shaeffer

The holiday season can be a test for any work at home mom. It’s challenging enough to juggle business and home on regular days. The holidays can feel like a three-ring circus has moved in. Thankfully there are ways you can make it easier to keep up with it all.

1) Know and Accept Your Limits

You only have so many hours in your day. If you know you’ve got holiday commitments and things to do, cut back on business tasks that require your time. You can do this by scheduling less or delegating more.

It may help to take a few minutes and list out what the most important things are that you want to accomplish during the holidays. Is it creating memories with your children? Spending time with your family? Whatever your goals are, write them down on a sticky note and post it on your mirror or somewhere that you’ll see it and be reminded so you can stay focused.

Strive to be realistic and know that it’s okay to say “no” to things, or to say “not right now, but later.”

2) Work in Advance

If you blog, write up your blog posts for the holiday season all at once and then set your blog to post each one on a different date.

Complete your newsletter early and have it ready and scheduled to go out at it’s regular time.

For Twitter, try setting up tweets through Tweet Later.

You may also want to plan a sale or other promotion to keep income flow steady while you’re stepping back a bit from business. Be sure to add it to your pre-written blog posts and your scheduled newsletter so you can promote it while you’re off enjoying the seasons festivities.

Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

Work at home mom extraordinaire Michelle Shaeffer publishes The Muses Brainstorm, a weekly ezine with tips to help you balance, manage, and market your home based business. Or are you having trouble finding a simple item such as a stapler? Is your desk so piled up that you can barely see the top of it? More importantly, maybe your child's homework is buried under the shuffle of papers that seem to be growing in front of you?

If you answered even one of these questions with a "yes" then your office needs some tender loving care organization.

I know when my desk is piled up and I can't find anything, I sure don't feel very productive. I find I have a much more productive day if my desk is nicely organized and tidy. I always feel better about my business when I get up in the morning and find everything in it's place. I mean it just makes sense, an organized office is a successful office.

The following tips will help you have a more productive business

* Always clean your desk off at the end of your work day. For example, put all those papers in their proper place, preferably in a file cabinet. Put all the pens/pencils in the little cup that's supposed to be holding them. Make sure you have a schedule made out in front of you for the following day.

* Create a home business environment for yourself that will encourage work and motivate you rather than make you want to go out shopping. If it means redecorating your home office to achieve this environment, then do it.

* Organize your documents on your computer and consistently do backups so your information is safe. Make a separate document for your income and your expenses. Keep these updated daily, weekly, or monthly. This way when tax time arrives, you won't have to do these tasks for the entire year. You can even save these documents to a disk and keep it updated if you want to be extra safe.

* Keep your important printed documents in organized file cabinets. If you don't own any, invest in some. With a home business, a filing system is essential, just like any other business.

* Always eat your meals at the dinning room or kitchen table with your family. Don't eat your meals at your desk. By doing so, after your meals you will return to your work area refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your tasks.

* Establish some rules for your home office. If your work day doesn't evolve around your phone, let your answering machine pick up those calls during the day, unless they are emergencies of course. If you have a busy household, shut your office door and tell your family to knock before entering. If you feel the need to, place a sign, "do not disturb" on your door. Just these two office rules will decrease distractions considerably.

The less distracted you are, the better your focus will be on your work each day. With the help of the tips above, try and create a method for organization with your daily tasks. While doing so, you will most definitely increase productivity, thus generate success for your business.

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

You can find more articles and other business resources at Work At Home Jobs.

Also visit Tammy on her Work At Home Forums, where you will find free job leads, work at home articles, home business ideas, and more. Several years ago I sure didn't think it was even feasibly possible. I used to sit and dream of the whole work at home scenario. Imagining myself working with ease and everyday abundantly prosperous.

After having experienced a few successful years of working at home, I've come to realize that there are lots of cons that go along with all the pros. Everyday isn't always organized, filled with an abundance of motivation, and inspiration. Us work at homers have to work at this daily. We have to be realistic about our particular situation and needs and make the best of our work at home environment, whatever the case may be. We've all become accustomed to the many ups and downs of our home jobs, just like any other 9 to 5 brick and mortar job. There will be days when we'll have disappointment, distractions, and even some unproductive days. It all comes with the territory.

So if you're thinking of working at home and dreaming of the perfect, happily ever after, day after day, think again! Working at home involves work, and there is no legitimate "get rich quick" or "easy work" formula out there that puts you on easy street, as the old saying goes.

If you want to telecommute from home, you will have to work hard. If you want to start a home business, you will have to work hard, and everyday will not be perfect or easy.

Below are four important tips for people just starting on a home job journey

1. Set a work schedule and do your best to stick with it. I've learned through trial and error that having a daily routine helps me tremendously. It helps keep me on track. Now, that's not to say that things won't arise unexpectedly and you won't be taken away from your schedule. Naturally there will be unexpected distractions. Life situations happen. But what better reason to be at home in order to deal with those situations? Work up a schedule that you can realistically stick with on a daily basis. Have it in front of you at all times and consistently check off tasks that you complete.

2. Make your work area your own, wether it be a complete home office or a corner in your spare bedroom. The idea is to separate your work from your home. This is so very important. If you start mixing the two, it will most likely cause conflict. So make your work area your very own and explain to your family members, this is your space.

3. Be good to yourself and take breaks as you need them. This includes weekends. You need time away from work to rejuvenate and recharge those batteries. What about vacations? Take them! While you're away, you may come back with new ideas, motivation, and inspiration. Every business needs this. Also it's a good idea to take breaks often during the day. Maybe go have coffee or lunch with a family member or friend. Take a walk, or maybe read for awhile from your favorite book. Not taking breaks can cause overload and burnout, it's just not healthy. So, be nice to yourself, refresh, and take time off when you need to.

4. Be realistic. Be prepared to work. Realize that a work at home job is a "real job" that involves real work. Simply put, you will have to work hard to succeed and earn money. Earning a steady income will not come easy. This in itself is the biggest realization that home job searchers will have to come to terms with and take action.

Working at home is a wonderful luxury for me, but it does have it's peaks and valleys. I work at what I do consistently everyday and I've come to really enjoy it. It's been a long journey getting here and I have had to put forth a lot of effort, and still do, but it's worth every moment. I love what I do and I wouldn't change anything.

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

Tammy offers free telecommute work at home job leads, work at home articles, business tips, and more at Work At Home Jobs

Stop by Tammy's Work At Home Forums where you can find more free job leads and other work at home professionals to socialize and network with.

Affiliate Links and Article Marketing

By Denise Willms

One of the best ways to promote anything – including affiliate products - is through article marketing. Over the last little while, though, article publishers have begun to disallow affiliate links in articles and author resource boxes.

But that shouldn't stop you from promoting affiliate products with your articles. Here are two ways you can promote your affiliate product links while still following your publishers' guidelines.

1. Include an active link to your website in your resource box, then have your affiliate product links readily available on your site. Once your reader clicks through to your site, you can encourage her to click on your affiliate product links.

2. Buy a cheap domain name and redirect it to your affiliate link. When your reader clicks on the link in your resource box, they will be redirected to your affiliate link. This practice is acceptable among most publishers.

Which method is better? Like anything else, it probably depends on your target market and the product you promote. But, while I don't have any statistics on either technique, this is how I see it...

If your reader chooses to click on the link in your resource box, it's because they trust YOU and they want to get to know YOU better. By immediately sending them somewhere else, you’re missing out on opportunities to

- let your reader get to know you better

- help your reader learn to trust your recommendations

- capture your reader's email address so you can recommend even more products to them

Invite your reader to your website first, build a relationship with them, and they’ll be more likely listen (and open their wallet) when you want to introduce them to someone else.

Article Source: http://www.wahm-articles.com

Denise Willms is a professional article writer who specializes in creating content for moms. You will find tons of sites generously strewed across the net that promise you these kind of profits. Yes, I'm talking about the "Get Rich Quick" schemes. The million dollar question, do any of them work?

Let me just flat out tell you, No! They do not. Now I do believe that a lot of marketers make thousands in a month, maybe even within a week. But, there is no such thing as "get rich quick." If the famous quote of the day rang true, wouldn't we all be rich by now? Need I say more? However, you can earn a decent income with affiliate marketing, but not without time, patience, and hard work. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

When you join an affiliate program, you automatically have access to banners, buttons, and other tools to work with to earn your commissions. Many affiliates think that all you have to do is simply place these graphics on a site and sit back and watch the profits roll in.

Now, any successful marketer will tell you that's a lazy man's way of marketing and also relatively unprofitable. There is a considerable amount of time and hard work that goes along with success. You have to put your whole self into it to get something out of it.

It's a simple equation: Patience + Hard Work = Success

Let's explore with the following one dozen tips

* Don't put all your affiliate eggs into one basket. Work with various different networks, not just one.

* Write rich content articles that tactfully lead to a call to action with a well-written resource box.

* Promote your affiliate products along with your websites on forums, newsletters, ezines, article directories, blogs, and other social networks.

* In nearly every case, text link ads are much more effective than buttons or banners.

* Be consistent with your marketing efforts. Remain motivated, challenged, and always ready to tackle a full day of hard work.

* Be patient and don't expect success overnight. Remember, most forms of advertising takes time to be successful.

* Take the time to interact with other successful affiliates on message forums and exchange strategies, ideas, and tips. The idea is to consistently increase your networking connections, and thus establishing a professional business rapport with potential buyers.

* Don't join affiliate networks that require a fee. Most of those are scams. There are plenty of free ones out there. Always do your research to weed out scams.

* Promote products and services that you truly endorse. If you really enjoy and like what you're marketing, you'll be more inclined to succeed.

* Keep a careful track record of where your affiliate traffic is coming from. There are many free web stat programs and ad trackers available for your use. Once you see where sales and traffic are coming from, keep up the momentum.

* Start a blog and write reviews and articles about the products you're selling. Then start participating and commenting on other blogs in your same niche.

* Build yourself a search engine friendly website as an anchor for all your text links, graphics, and articles. If you need help with this, find a good web designer, it will be well worth it. Now you certainly don't need a website to succeed at affiliate marketing. But a website aids immensely in branding yourself in the affiliate industry. And the end result is more profits for you.

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

You can find more articles, work at home job leads, and other business resources at Work At Home Jobs.

Also visit Tammy on her Work At Home Forums, where you will find more job leads, work at home articles, home business ideas, and more. In this article, you will discover the 3-step system I personally use to write up to 10-20 articles per day, in just a few hours a day.

Here is how I do it:

1. I Write Out My Titles First

I write out the list of titles of the articles I'm going to write for my article writing session. This sets the stage and makes the rest of the article writing session easier because I do all my brainstorming earlier on, so I can concentrate on writing the articles instead of thinking of new topics to write about.

2. I Do A Little Research

I do some research for the topics I'm not too familiar with by searching the search engines or just perusing some article directories. I will save my research articles in a Word document to use as reference. You do not want to plagiarize these articles, but you can get the main information out of them and use it to create your own original articles from scratch.

3. I Get Down To Writing Using A Simple Formula

Here is how I make my writing easier: I separate my article into three general sections - the Introduction, the Body and the Conclusion. The Introduction is basically a teaser for the content in the article while the Body actually contains the main points of the article. The Conclusion is a summary of your content and can consist of a few sentences to close out your article.

"FREE Report Reveals The 3-Step System To Generating $1,000/Week Or More Online..."

http://www.MurderYourJob.com/indexf.html.

Improving Your Home Office - Time Saving Tips for an Efficient and Organized Office

By: Jacquie Ross

Today’s home offices are busier than ever. Gone are the days when all we needed was a writing desk, small filing cabinet and a few envelopes and stamps. Many home owners now have separate home offices, outfitted with computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners and more.

How is your home office doing? Do you have a clear desk, comfortable seating, good lighting and a place for everything? Or is it an overwhelming cluttered space, full of papers and unidentified objects? Home offices need not be disorganized, boring and sterile. Even an office situated in a basement with poor natural light can be transformed into a bright and cheerful environment with good lighting and decorative accessories.

Before you get started on improving your home office, it is important to identify all of the activities that take place in there. Are you simply paying a few bills, filing some statements and sorting mail? Or do you also like to use the space for your children to do homework, browsing on the internet, sorting photographs and wrapping gifts? If you are running a home-based business, it’s important that you try to keep it separate from your household office, even if it’s just in another area of the room.

For your home office to function properly it should be comfortable, with functional and ergonomic furniture. It should also be free of paper clutter. Invest in office organizing products to keep paper clutter at bay, so that you can enjoy your office, instead of fearing it! I have listed a few of the typical activities that take place in today’s home offices. If you also run a home business, it is imperative that you have the necessary office supplies and equipment to run your business efficiently. Use this as a guideline to help you to organize your space:

 Sorting Mail & Paying Bills: Purchase an organizer with slots, trays or cubbies to divide up bills, mail, envelopes, stamps and address labels. As soon as a bill comes in, place it into the appropriate slot immediately!
Tip: A mail organizer with a small drawer for stamps and small office supplies will keep your desktop neat.

 Accessing Office Supplies: Your everyday office supplies should be kept at arm’s length on your desk or in your desk drawers immediately!
Tip: Avoid messy drawers by purchasing compartmented junk drawer organizers.

 Checking Your Schedule: Place a monthly calendar on the wall so that you can quickly view upcoming events.
Tip: Use a magnetic dry erase message board to write brief notes and reminders.

 Dealing with Action Items: You might feel more comfortable keeping your action papers on your desk in a “neat” pile, for fear of losing or forgetting them. Unfortunately, papers left out can be easily misplaced or even accidently thrown away. There are many different options available for organizing your day-to-day papers, including desktop trays and step-up files. Consider your options and invest in organizing products that will work for you.
Tip: Spend a few minutes each day reviewing your action files on your desk.

 Filing Papers: A file cabinet is essential for storing important documents and statements. If you do not have a cabinet, consider purchasing a file crate or file box. Stackable file crates are convenient, affordable and take up minimal space. In addition, a fire-proof safe is recommended for important documents, such as birth certificates and passports etc.
Tip: Make copies of all important personal and household documents and store them either off-site or in another part of your home.

 Looking up Telephone Numbers: A manual or electronic rolodex is a handy tool for quickly accessing contact information.
Tip: Keep the local telephone directories handy in case you want to look something up quickly. They can be stored in magazine holders or on a durable letter tray near the phone.

 Handling School Papers: If you have school aged children, set up a system to handle all of their incoming and outgoing school papers. Try a portable hanging file holder, file crate, file cabinet or wall pockets.
Tip: Show your school aged children where they need to place their school papers each day.

 Using Technology: Identify the equipment you need for your home office. If you have space and budget constraints, but would like to have it all, consider purchasing a multifunction printer, with an integrated copier, scanner, fax machine and photo printing capabilities. You’ll save space, time and money.
Tip: Consider purchasing a fax/printer organizer with drawers and/or trays to hold paper and office supplies.

Finally, don’t be afraid to decorate your office! This is not a corporate office, so decorate it as you wish. Use color and accessories to liven up your space. This is your space, so make it one that you will love to be in!

About The Author

Jacquie Ross is a Maryland based Professional Organizer, writer, speaker and owner of CastAway the Clutter! Put the onion, courgettes and garlic into a large ovenproof dish. Slosh over the olive oil, season well and give everything a quick stir, then roast for 15 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes into the veg and continue roasting for 15 minutes more. At the same time, bring a large pan of salted water to the boil so the sauce and pasta will be finished at the same time.

Drop the pasta into the boiling water and cook according to pack instructions; about 9-12 minutes.

Drain the pasta. Take the vegetables out of the oven and pop the garlic cloves out of their skins. Mash the garlic against the side of the dish and stir through the vegetables. Tip in the pasta and toss everything together, tearing in some basil as you go. Pile into two bowls and serve with grated parmesan.

Roasted Potato and Green Bean Salad

From: Wired Berries.com

Serves 6

Ingredients

2 lbs. small red potatoes, halved or quartered
10 cloves garlic, peeled
4 Tablespoons olive oil
1 and 1/2 cups green beans, sliced into one-inch pieces

Dijon Vinaigrette

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon horseradish, drained
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions

1. This information is included every time someone reprints your article.

The idea behind article marketing is that other website owners will reprint your article in exchange for keeping your bio and the link to your website intact. It’s a win-win situation for the article author and the publisher. The publisher gets great content, and you, the author, get more exposure for your website.

To be effective, your article needs to be highly informative and relevant to your target market. Give your readers the information they're looking for, otherwise you'll wasting everyone's time. Supply real answers to your market's burning questions – but don't give away all your tips and secrets! At the end of the article, you want to leave your reader wanting more so she'll gladly click the link in your bio to get it.

Article directories are a really good place to begin your article marketing campaign. Most directories have frequent visitors who are always looking for new, quality content. As well, the article directory owner will market her directory, and your articles along with it.

But, article marketing isn't limited to submitting articles to article directories. In fact, investing a little more energy and creativity in your article marketing can get you even better results.

Article Marketing Begins at Home. Your article marketing strategy should include publishing your articles on your own website for your visitors to find. New visitors will come back regularly if they know you consistently provide updated, useful content. With each visit, the chance that they will become customers increases. Sending out your new articles to your opt-in list is another form of article marketing.

Niche Directories. Instead of submitting your next article to all the article directories you can find, look for niche directories that would attract your target market. For example, if you write articles about parenting, submit them to directories that specialize in topics that are of interest to parents, like WAHM Articles. Doing this little bit of research will increase the likelihood of your target market finding and reading your articles.

Offer Exclusive Articles. When you find one of your articles reprinted on a site that's popular with your target market, contact the publisher and see if you could write an article for them that you wouldn't publish anywhere else. Most publishers love original content when they can get it, and will usually give your article prominent placement in return for writing an article just for their site.

Take it Offline. Article marketing isn't limited to online publishers. Look for local print publications that would appeal to your target market. Contact the publishers to see if they would like to publish one of your articles in return for including your by-line.

Don't limit yourself to just one form of article marketing for your home business. Every business and every target market is different. Try to combine a few of the above strategies to see what works best for yours.

About The Author

Denise Willms is a professional article writer who specializes in creating content for moms. But once you find your keywords, how can you keep track of them?

I keep track of my keywords in an Excel spreadsheet. Here are some of the things I track, to keep my keywords organized:

Date: This is the date that you found the keywords. If you’ve been researching keywords, you’ll notice that the things people search for change over time. So, you may not want to optimize an article for popular keywords you discovered last year, without checking to see that they’re still popular.

Keyword Phrase: In the next column, I put the keyword phrase that I found. Remember that you want to stay away from single words, and actually go with a meaningful phrase.

Popularity: This is the number of how many times that phrase has been searched for in the past month. Your keyword research tool will tell you that.

Competition: This is the number of how many other pages are competing for that keyword. Depending on which tool you’re using, you may have to do separate research to find out for yourself.

To find how much competition you have in Google, for example, do a search for the phrase with quotes around it. If I wanted to check the competition for people who are writing about dogs like mine, I would search for "curly cream schnoodle", just like that, with the quotes around it.

A note on popularity and competition: Your goal is to find keywords that are popular, but don’t have a lot of competition

Articles: Then I have several columns for the titles of articles I write using that keyword phrase. How can I get people to my forum? – NobodyLovesMe

Dear Nobody Loves Me,
Building a forum into a happenin’ place is a LOT of work. Don’t be discouraged if your efforts aren’t paying off yet. It does take time.

That being said, there are ways to boost your forum and keep boosting it, without having to spend a lot of money. Let me share one of my favorite ways to get traffic, writing articles.

You may not be familiar with article sharing. Basically, you write and share your articles with other websites and newsletters that need content. They publish your article with your author resource box (including your website URL). This helps both of you. The website publisher needs interesting, informative content and you need the exposure.

But, what does this have to do with building your forum? It can help you in two ways.

1. In your author bio, include a link directly to your forum so people that click through your link can sign up immediately and get chatting with the other members.

2. Or link to your website and have your forum prominently displayed on every page. The more incoming links you have pointing to your website content, the more important the search engines will think your site is – and you’ll get more natural traffic from google, msn, and yahoo.

So, how do you take advantage of this method of generating traffic? You can start today.

1. Choose a topic. You can even use your own forum posts for inspiration. If you’ve recently answered questions in a post on your forum about any topic, turn it into an article. (Of course you may only use the materials you yourself have written and any and all names should be changed.)

2. Include your Author Resource box. Make sure to think about this part a lot. Many people just skim over it and, frankly, have useless resource boxes. What do you offer to the visitors? Do you have a free incentive for joining? Think this one through. Make it enticing.

3. Submit your Articles. Find article directories where you can share your articles.

4. Then, don’t sit and wait for traffic, repeat the process over and over and watch your forum grow.

The results will be long-lasting as your articles will float around the web for years and years to come.

Author Resource - Nicole Dean doesn’t pay for advertising – ever. She uses Article Marketing to get free advertising on websites and in newsletters worldwide. You can use articles to get free traffic, too. Visit http://www.EasyArticleMarketing.com to find out how.

Article From: http://www.freeaffiliatearticles.com/brandable/

Work At Home Forums: Networker or Spammer?

By Tammy Embrich

1) No Flaming: Please be kind to other members and treat them with respect.

2) Advertising: Please keep all your ads in the proper forum.

3) Signatures: Please keep all signatures to 2 text links. No banners. Thanks!

4) Absolutely no spamming other members with PM's about your advertisements.

5) You must introduce yourself before posting any ads in the ad section of the forum.

Does any of this sound familiar? It should if you're accustomed to reading and following rules on a forum.

I'm surprised at just how many people come onto a business message board and instantly click themselves in the "post your opportunity" section, spam their ad, and then leave. What are those forum spammers proving to others by doing this? Where does this get them?

Part of being a respectable member of work at home forums is to consistently read the posting rules. Failure to do this can and most probably will jeopardize your forum account.

The above consequence doesn't seem to matter to quite a few members. Reading the rules of any forum you join is the very first thing you must do BEFORE making your first post, and also your first step toward properly networking with others. It only takes a few short minutes of your time and will substantially benefit you and your business. Business forums are created for business networking, not for spamming.

What exactly is the meaning of "business networking?"

Business networking is building relationships with other business owners and sharing thoughts and ideas, and getting to know one another. It means rationally conversing with others, discussing marketing ideas and techniques, lending support, and consistently adding something of value to the community. Share ideas, ask questions, and consequently gain the trust of the members. And as a result, you will be viewed and looked upon as a competent business individual.

That type of reputation is what it truly takes to make or break the sales, not one who is there just to spam their ads.

Now you should be able to easily answer this question. When joining your next work at home forum, are you joining to spam or network?

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

Tammy offers work at home articles, free work at home job leads, and other business resources on her Work At Home Forums.

12 Steps to using a Forum or Message Board properly

By: Connie Violette

So you’ve been looking around the internet and discovered forums. You want to join in but it’s kind of intimidating. Maybe you’ve started an online business or offline business and you want to promote it. You’ve heard that forums are a great way to promote your business but you want to make sure you’re doing it right.

There really is such a thing as “forum etiquette”. If you don’t know what to do, you could easily find yourself banned from one of the best places online. So how do you make sure you are behaving yourself?

Step one: Understand how forums work. Typically they are set up with various “boards”. Each “board” has a purpose. Look around and familiarize yourself with how the forum is structured.

Step two: Take time to read and get a feel for how the forum is ran. If you are hoping to use a signature line, look at other posters and see if they have signature lines and if those signatures are promotional or just for fun. Get an idea of who is who on the board. Most boards have moderators. You don’t want to annoy these people.

Step three: Read the rules. Some forums have rules that encompass the entire forum and others have rules for each board.

Step four: Now that you understand the forum, join and get a membership if you haven’t already.

Step five: Introduce yourself. While most forums are happy to have you there, it’s nice to know who we are talking to, why you are there and what you hope to accomplish. This makes it easier for the existing forum members to help you.

Step six: Start posting. This is the most important rule regardless of who you are or why you are there. You can’t get answers if you don’t ask questions. Your business won’t be noticed if you don’t post and make yourself an authority.

Step seven: Follow up. If you are there solely for self promotion, you will quickly find yourself banned or your posts just deleted. If you are there to promote your business, check back each day to answer questions from other members. There is little that is more annoying than someone asking a question or making a statement and then not following up. Check back daily.

Step eight: Try not to send private messages to the owner/admin. They created the forum so you would have a place to ask your questions and get answers. While they really want to help, they are very busy making sure everything works the way you expect it to work.

Step Nine: Do NOT spam the other members. It does not matter if someone asks for a business opportunity. If the rules state you are not allowed to promote your business do not do it. This includes saying things like “see my signature” or sending them a private message. There are boards that allow advertising. Use them.

Step Ten: DO NOT become a hit and run poster. This is the surest way to build a bad reputation and get banned. If you want to promote yourself, take the time to become an active member and participate in the forum. The forum was not built so you would have a place to advertise.

Step Eleven: DO NOT become a “one-liner”. These are people who pretend to participate by answering numerous questions. All with the same phrase or a few different one line phrases.

Step Twelve: Have fun. Get to know the rest of the community and help the forum owner by passing along to others what a great forum it is. If you are enjoying it and learning from it why not share.

Connie Violette invites you to visit www.katieshugs.com website dedicated to free and honest work at home ideas, paid surveys and mystery shopping links. Working at home certainly has it's advantages. But have you really thought about the frustrations that go along with that territory? And believe me, they do exist.

Let's discuss some of them...the "worse" side of working from home

1. Balancing Work and Family

This by far is the number one factor for many that have small children at home. Many people think that by working from home, they will have much more time to spend with their children. But sadly...too often, it's simply not the case. It really depends on what type of home position or home business you have and your children's ages and needs. Before deciding on what type of job or business you enquire, you need to take this into consideration and work up a schedule that will work for both you and your family household.

2. Taking You Seriously

I've witnessed others experiencing this common problem and it's also one that I have struggled with and still do from time to time. Does your family and friends think that since you "work at home" you can stop everything at once and come to their rescue, go shopping, run errands for them, take a day off, go for lunch, and so forth? Don't get me wrong...at times there are real emergency circumstances that arise that will need your attention, and that should be a priority. But generally speaking, it's crucial to your business to explain your duties to your family and friends and make them understand that your job is just like any other job and it requires devoting so many hours each day for you to make money. Simply put...if you don't put in your required hours, you don't get paid.

3. Make Easy Money At Home

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but this concept doesn't exist. If you're searching for a work at home job, and also thinking you'll be living on "easy street" once you've found that job...think again! Being a work at home professional is not all a bed of roses, and most importantly, NOT always as easy as you'd think OR like it to be. It takes a considerable amount of hard work and consistency.

Oh...Did you think you could set it and forget it? Wrong! For you to be successful, and especially for a home business...you need to work hard at it. I know all too well and learned from experience. Hard work, motivation, and consistency is what will make or break your success. And it certainly won't happen overnight. It will take time, so patience is the key.

4. Isolation Blues

Personally, this has been my number one disadvantage of my business. There's no question about it, if you spend most of your time at home in one room with no connection with other people, eventually at some point in time, you will most likely feel alone and isolated. It is normal to experience this as you wouldn't be in a workplace environment. Face it, it gets a little lonely when there's nobody to talk with or to share ideas, or to discuss your problems with...business or personal.

Solution

Get to know and converse with members of the forums you are a member of. Get to know others as you network with them.

Join chat groups that are relevant to your niche

Call up an online friend and just chat

If you own a laptop and your lifestyle and specific job will allow it, go to the park or a coffee house and work

Try and schedule a dinner appointment at least once a week with an old friend

Try and make some kind of human connection on a daily basis

The "better" side of working at home

You are your own boss. You can dictate your own schedule and come and go as you please

You can take time off whenever you feel like it

You can be at home when your children get home from school

You will most definitely save on gas, as you don't have to commute back and forth to work

You don't have to get dressed for work. In fact, you can stay in your sleep wear all day if you want to

You get to choose what type of work you do at home. You can turn your hobby into a business if desired

You will have tax benefits. When you run a business in your home, you have a great deal of tax advantages. You will be able to write off itemized things for your business

Working from your home can be a wonderful thing. But there are various things to take into consideration such as what I've mentioned above. You will need to carefully weigh the pros and cons and come to an informed decision if a work at home lifestyle is right for you. Personally for me, I wouldn't trade my business at home for anything. The advantages far exceed the disadvantages and I'm happy and contented with what I do.

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

You can find other work at home articles by Tammy at Work At Home Articles.

Tammy also offers free work at home job leads, work at home articles, business tips, and other work at home resources. Can anyone tell me how to get started?”

Starting a Virtual Assistant (VA) business is an appealing option for moms who want to develop their careers while being home with their kids. It’s one of the most flexible home businesses you can own, and it can change and develop as your skills grow.

First of all, there’s flexibility in the kind of work you can do as a Virtual Assistant. Traditionally, VAs did only administrative work. Although many Virtual Assistants still offer administrative services, today’s VA can be a writer, web designer, marketer, programmer, public relations specialist, coach – you’re limited only by your imagination!

Unlike a corporate job where the work you do is defined by the title of your position, a VA can continually develop their skills, and can tackle any project that appeals to their talents or interests. As your skills grow, you can ditch the work you don’t like, and pursue new types of projects – no more being stuck in a rut and hoping for that promotion or a new job to rescue you.

There’s also a lot of flexibility in how much money a VA can earn. While most charge around $35 an hour, rates for specialized services can run over $100 per hour. When you’re a VA, how much you make is not dictated to you by a faceless Human Resources department, but decided on by you. You choose what you want to earn, so long as it’s in line with what your target market will pay.

To earn the dollars you want, or need, start by choosing a target market that is willing to pay what you charge, and then offer the services they need most. You can add to your income by selling affiliate products, creating and selling your own product, or by creating a membership site. A good combination of these can give you limitless earning potential.

Moms who want to become Virtual Assistants are usually looking for flexibility in their working hours, too. It’s wise to set regular office hours to help you keep control over your day and so your clients know not to call you during the supper hour, but these hours don’t need to be set in stone. It's unfortunate that a significant number of individuals have lost their brick and mortar jobs and are in desperate need of some income. Some of these job seekers are steadily searching for their ideal job online.

Sadly, I see people everyday go about searching for a home job the wrong way. Basically, they simply don't know WHERE to search and end up looking in the wrong places. Well of course, this puts them more at risk of getting scammed. Also...they go about searching with the wrong attitude or they are searching for only one type of job and are set on finding that specific job and nothing else. One needs to realize...there are various work at home options available.

I have put together some helpful do's and don'ts when searching for an online job. Take your time in reading through them.

Do take the time to create a professional, well-written resume, including a cover letter. A legitimate company will require this from you. You will need to proportion your resume for the specific job you are searching for.

Below are some helpful sites for creating a resume...

quintcareers.com/resume-dos-donts.html
resume-resource.com/ - offers free resume templates, guides, and more
jobsearchtech.about.com/library/weekly/aa082597-3.htm - lots of free and inexpensive resume sites
tbrnet.com/resumes/resume-examples-and-formats.php3 - offers a free trial account

Do keep submitting your resume and applying consistently. It may take several times before you land a job. You need to be patient and submit to a LOT more than just a handful of companies.

Do make a chart of the job companies that you have submitted your resume to, including the date. This will come in handy and won't result with you double submitting.

Do take breaks from your time on searching. If you devote ALL your energy on job searches, you'll get stressed out, frustrated, and most likely give up.

Do visit job boards regularly.

Below are a few job boards for your searches...

careerbuilder.com/
indeed.com/
genuinejobs.com/
ratracerebellion.com/
careerbank.com/

Do visit work at home forums regularly. Set up an account on these forums and ask questions about specific companies and find out some of the well-known scams out there.

Below are a few forums for your searches...

real-wah-jobs.com/forum/
worldwideworkathome.com/forum/
wahm.com/forum/
wahcheck.com/forum/default.aspx
freelancemom.com/forum/index.php

Do visit work at home related websites

Do visit work at home blogs. Blogs have become progressively popular and a lot of them list job leads regularly.

Do tell all your friends to spread the word that you are searching for a job online. These friends will tell their friends and so on.

Do your own research on the companies that you would like to apply. It's so easy these days to fall for all the scams that clutter the Internet.

Now for the Don'ts

Don't approach your work at home search with a bad attitude and think that all job opportunities are scams. There are legitimate positions to be found.

Don't set your mind on just one type of job. Be open-minded and explore all your options, according to your skill sets.

Don't apply for a job online before researching the company first to check for scams.

Below are a few sites for searching for scam companies

bbb.org/
ftc.gov/
ripoffreport.com/
scambusters.org/

You can also type the company name into Google.com and the word scam to find any bad reports.

Don't pay for a work at home job. Of course there are a few exceptions to this. For a customer service position, you will most likely be required to purchase a head set. For transcription work, you will need a foot pedal. A company may also require a background check from you.

Don't be afraid to ask for assistance with your search. Forums are excellent for asking questions. Create a career-networking relationship with the members of the forum.

Don't let the poor economic conditions of society stop you from consistently applying for jobs.

Don't quit your brick and mortar job before securing a work at home position that matches your income.

Hopefully, the above tips will assist in securing a legitimate home-based opportunity. Happy job hunting!

Article Written By Tammy Embrich

Tammy owns and operates two work at home websites, a work at home forum, a recipe site and three blogs.

She offers free work at home job leads for the job seeker, business work at home articles, tips, and more. Long commutes and office politics can cause burnout and leave you wondering if there's a better way. If you're tired of going to work each day and want a way to make money that offers amazing flexibility, then a career doing data entry from home may be for you.

Data entry jobs often entail the entry of various types of information via computer and at times, management of this information. Some other names you may hear for online data entry workers are online home typists, online word processors, information processing specialists and online transcribers.

Data entry from home may include the preparation of correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, lists, records and databases. At times, the work can become tedious and time-consuming. But if you're a good typist can accurately capture and record information in a time efficient manner, data entry from home may be a good choice for you.

The data entry jobs that offer the option of working from home often also offer flexible scheduling. It's likely that you will be able to work when you want, as little or as much as you want.

Below are profiles of some of the most popular jobs available for those who wish to do data entry from home.

Medical and Legal Transcription: Medical and/or legal transcription requires the entry of information as heard on an audio file. Basically, you will listen to a recording and type everything that you hear. There is specialized equipment available such as headphones and even foot pedals that can slow down or speed up what you're listening to, as well as training courses that can teach and certify you in these types of data entry jobs.

Medical Coding: Medical coding is another data entry from home job that you can do. Medical coders ensure the proper entry and management of sensitive medical data. There are correspondence courses that can teach you how to do this from home.

Litigation Coding: A growing category in data entry jobs, litigation coding involves the capture of information from scanned documents to assist legal professionals in not only storing their documents electronically but locating the documents using accurate search criteria.

Although the money you make doing data entry from home may fluctuate depending on factors such as the availability of work and how much work you perform, people doing online data entry jobs can make up to $60,000 per year.
