Resolutions

I'm not always the best at new years resolutions but this year I have some things on my list that I'm really quite excited about! My list in no particular order — 1. Take more photos and perfect my skills 2. Book a surfing trip to Costa Rica 3. Take advantage of what NYC has to offer and visit more museums {my goal is 8 this year to start!} 4. See more live music {the fourth image above is from when I went to see The National} 5. Train for a race — I'm currently eyeing the Warrior Dash! Do you have any new years resolutions?

Ski Bunny

Just wanted to share some quick pics from my trip to Stowe Mountain. I've been quite the ski bunny this past week. We had amazing conditions and fresh snow almost every day. A fabulous Christmas indeed! Next stop...the Catskills for some new years cheer! P.S. I can't wait to try out my new Sprocket Rocket...best gift ever!

Is almost here!! To say that I have been busy lately is an understatement. I feel like I've barely had time to think about holiday shopping and Christmas carols and peppermint hot chocolate! But, one of the best things about NYC is that this city gets all dolled up for the holidays and I love every second of it! Counting down the days! I'll be skiing in Vermont with my family this Christmas and I may just be in need of this and this. {Pay attention Santa}. Cheers!

As a seasoned New Yorker I've come to easily pass off most of the subway signage during my daily commute. This one however caught my eye — not because of the sign itself, but because of the creepy similarity of the real live man sitting directly in front of me with a paper package tucked neatly under his seat who happened to look exactly like the man in the poster. You don't need to warn me twice. I peppered sprayed the sh*t out of him. Just kidding. But, I had to share because this was all too funny to keep to myself. What's wrong with this picture?!

UNICEF Snowflake Ball

Last night I attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball for work. I was appropriately stationed at the Smilebooth. {I designed the backdrop!!} The ball is an annual black tie gala and this year it was star-studded. Be sure to check out E! Happy Turkey Day! {One day early.} Wishing everyone a cozy Thanksgiving with lots of food, family, and friends. We are heading to Good for Thanksgiving dinner and then I'll be cooking away on Friday. I'll be making quite the assortment with brie en croute, bacon wrapped scallops, zucchini crisps, and apple pie just to name a few. Gobble gobble!

Back in the Saddle (Literally)

For those who don't know I used to ride horses back in high school and college. I was actually quite competitive in high school. I leased a horse (Molly) and worked at the barn mucking stalls and taking care of the horses in exchange for lessons. And I frequented jumper competitions (oh how I miss those days!). In college I was just about to join the equestrian team when I tore my ACL skiing (sad face) but I rode for almost two years while in school. When I moved to NYC I looked into riding but finding a decent barn around here has proven to be a challenge. Last weekend I joined some friends out in Brooklyn for a trail ride (where we meandered onto the beach and were free to canter around) and I was immediately reminded how much I love this sport. Decision made, I'm going to start riding again!

NYC Marathon

On Sunday I joined some colleagues of mine for our own little cheering section in Brooklyn on Lafayette Ave. We situated ourselves right around mile 8 and had so much fun cheering on runners. The energy in this area was buzzing with excitement and we later meandered our way up toward a church that had a choir serenading the runners. One of the best parts was the impromptu dance party that broke out after the runners went by topped off with a block-long line up of the electric slide. Needless to say I'll be back again next year. Some pics from the day. Enjoy!
