Doing a power slide on a car is not as intense as drifting. It is the technique during which the car slides across around a turn after losing its traction with the road. A power slide is also known as drifting light as the driver simply slides the car out form the exit of a turn by allowing the tires to lose their grip. It is not very difficult to perform, just find an empty parking area or a private road and you can practice to do the power slide.

Follow the simple step-by-step directions:
Step-by-step directions
Step 1:
First of all, enter a curve or a turn while driving at a normal speed, thus allowing the car to reach the apex of this turn at a considerable safe and conventional speed.

Step 2:
Press the car’s throttle just as it passes the apex and the curve starts straightening out. At the same time, turn the steering wheel in the direction of the curve until you feel that the wheels are losing traction on the road.

Step 3:
Continue stepping on the gas as the car starts sliding crossways out of the curve, make sure to keep the front of the car directed at the straight part of the road ahead.

Step 4:
Remove the foot from the throttle when car’s front is pointing at the right direction. Wait till the car gains the traction again on the road before the throttle is reapplied. It should be noted that failure to remove the foot from the gas pedal at the exact right moment will cause the car spin out of your control.

Step 5:
Once the car faces the right direction and the tires regain traction on the road, reapply the gas. From that point, continue to the straightaway.

Step 6:
Continue practicing with the power slide in case you are facing problems with the car over-steering or spinning inwards. An empty parking space can be used and an alternate between steering the car in a turn with the gas pedal being pressed and removing the foot from the accelerator while the car regains traction. Every car is not the same so one need to learn the specific point at which the car will lose traction.

The gasket can get hard and its pieces will start falling apart by this time. Do this cautiously to prevent the pieces of torn gasket from dropping in the engine internals. When the valve cover will pop up, use a scraper for removing the remaining gasket which is still connected to the valve cover. Before the new gasket is positioned, apply high temp silicone on the edge of the valve cover. Bolt the valve cover now and apply reasonable force for tightening every bolt. The new gasket will hopefully run for roughly 100000 km before the time comes for next change.

Visually examine the drain plug bolts and check for any signs of build up sludge as this may be a sign of damaged threads. It is a usually observed fact that every change of motor oil needs unbolting and installing that screw that soon wears out the thread.

Things you should know when buying a car

You look GREAT in that little red sports car! The salesman says the dealership can process your loan application, and you can drive it home today. Sounds great, right? Maybe … and maybe not! There are some things you should do BEFORE you sign that dealer purchase agreement, because once you sign it, you don’t have the right to change your mind. Before you make your final decision, you’ll want to know what that hot little number will cost you to insure. Massachusetts is a compulsory insurance state, so you must have liability insurance. The loan agreement you sign to buy the car will, no doubt, require you to carry physical damage – comprehensive and collision – coverage. You might be surprised to find that the tiny little sports car has a very big price tag when it comes to insurance,
particularly if you have a somewhat checkered past in the accident and ticket department

You will want to make a quick call to your insurance agent or company to find out how much it will cost to insure the car. If buying the car is a “go”, here are some things you should know:

1. The dealer must assign the vehicle’s title to you at the time of delivery. Make sure the back of the title is one of the documents you sign before you drive away.
2. If you are trading in your old car, in some cases you may have a “grace” period to give you time to get to the RMV. Your insurance agent or company can tell you whether this law applies to you.
3. To register your new car, you will need an RMV-1 Application for Registration form and the title to the new car. This RMV-1 form will be completed by the dealer
or by your insurance agent or company if you are buying from a private person. When you register the car, you will need to pay for the new plates (cost varies depending on plate type) or a plate transfer ($15), a title ($50), and the sales tax. The sales tax is based on purchase price for dealer sales and “book value” (to be
determined by the RMV) for private sales.
4. Your new car must have a safety inspection within seven days of registration.

5. If you are buying a used car, you may also need to have a pre-insurance inspection within ten days of purchase. This inspection is different from the safety inspection and required by Massachusetts regulations in order to determine if there is existing damage or broken glass.
