Hello all thank you for your patience and understanding while I've been going through this most difficult part of my life. I know that I haven't been faithful with keeping everyone updated, but life kind of took charge and my health was my first priority. Due to funding or should I say lack their of I don't have internet at my house right now, but I'm so back! I'm getting my energy back and have gotten my treatment! I can only get it once a year so hopefully by this time next year I'll be saying I'm cancer free. While it's still unsure as to whether all my cancer is gone, I'm able to focus more on getting my energy back and trying to get my life back on track. I've missed blogging so much and missed all the support and the great giveaways!! I'm planning on picking my winners ASAP and wish all of you luck that have entered. Just wanted to go ahead and give everybody an update. I went in for surgery and instead of having just my left part of my thyroid removed they removed my whole thyroid because it was all cancerous as well as 4/9 lymph nodes. There was capsular invasion present and the only lymph nodes tested were on my left side (same as the nodule) It's been such a hectic past three weeks and the lack of support I'm getting from my family is quite shattering. I was so in hope that this sickness would be enough to aid in mending our broken relationship. I also got diagnosed with Hashimito's Thyroiditis and things for me have been so hectic. I'm still not feeling well and visited my endocronologist on Wednesday only to find out that I've got a pretty aggressive cancer and the fact that it has spread is not good so they are enducing my body to go into shock by shooting my TS levels from a normal range 1-2 to a whopping 35-40 to get my body ready for a small iodine treatment to perform a full body scan which is necessary prior to getting my radio active iodine treatments. I'm being forced to go on this horrible diet, while being sick it's a low iodine diet and it's like all I can eat is lettuce with oil and vinegar ugh the thought of no salt or dairy products I'm like WTF! Chad has been so helpful in driving me to so many different appointments and trying to help me keep up with my long list of medications. I'm pretty shocked about all of this, and dissapointed that I won't be able to go to work when I had planned. Financially we are truly at a stand point, not knowing how we are going to pay our bills much less afford me not working. I have a very long road to recovery and in the midst of all of this I've decided that I had to make some very tough choices so I've turned off my internet/cable- luckily my neighbor is letting me borrow hers but I have such a low signal I'm kind of scared to write a post. I have little to no energy and find myself sleeping way too much. On a good note my scar is healing fabulously and you can barely see it! I apologize for not being on here much, but with all that's been going on I truly haven't found time to even relax! I really thought that while recovering from this surgery I'd be able to have some down time however now I'm overwhelmed with the amount of appointments I have and my inability to drive makes it really hard on Chad. I'll be going to stay with my cousins next Friday for a few days only to get through the roughest part of this- when I'll be really sick! I hope to get a few reviews/giveaways done tommorow night and appreciate all the continuing support and entries into my fabulous giveaways! A Quick Update

I wanted to give everyone a quick update on how things were going. This is now my second night at home which makes me feel even better. I went to the Dr. today and got my stitches out and got my pathology report back. Not the best news in the world- I'll be going to see an Endocrinologist next week and starting some radiation therapy as some of the cancer has spread into my lymph nodes. It's a very scary thing and to know that I'm going to be struggling this is hard to deal with, but I'm staying positive and know that I will get through this. My family & friends have been so supportive and loving and Chad has been such a rock and a helping hand wherever it is needed. This is going to be a long and painful process, but I'll get through it I'm a fighter and I have a lot to live for! I'll be back tomorrow to posts a few more review/giveaways and until then please continue to enter the fabulous ones I have going on!

I was so impressed with the sweat suit I wore it to my surgery and got many compliments on it. It's very soft and comfy, the draw string on the waist falls great on my hips and I loved the hoodie offering side pockets, and a great hood with a draw string around the face. Here's a picture of me in it!

Being in the middle of my cancer crisis I love being able to wear this suit and give others the courage to fight it to. But they also offer funny shirts, and kids onesies

Ugh, I'm trying to get better!

I'm feeling a little bit better just because I'm home, but have a long road ahead of me. I find out the results of my pathology report today (if I have more cancer) and get my stitches out. I was surprised at how fast I would be getting my stitches out. It's very painful and I would wish this on no one! However, my friends & Chad have been so supportive and helpful I can say that I owe them big time. I'll try my best to keep you all updated, but please be patient. Thanks for all the kind words and the prayers- keep them coming.

The surgery didn't exactly go as planned. I was told by the Dr. that they would remove the left side of my thyroid freeze it and then decide if they should take out the right side. I remember going into the operation room it was so cold in their and then I remember waking up. The Dr. told me I did have cancer throughout my entire thyroid and that it was removed entirely I was only supposed to be in surgery for two to two and half hours but wound up being in surgery for almost six. They also took out a few pieces of my lymph nodes etc. to check for cancer (pathology report) so I'll get a few more answers today and as terrible as I feel things are going to get better. I start my medication today too, so that may help in making me feel better. Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! Miss you guys bunches, can't wait to be back 100%!

Update on Courtney

Hi. I'm Sarah from Luvn Life and a very good friend of Courtney's. She has asked me to give her wonderful followers an update her surgery. Yesterday Courtney had surgery to remove her left thyroid because of a lump she found that was indeed cancer. Once the doctor went in to remove it, they discovered that the right side was also cancerous and removed that side too. They also took a piece of her lymphoid to make sure the cancer has not invaded her there as well. The surgery was successful and Courtney is now recovering. She is in a lot of pain but is recovering well. She will be in the hospital until tomorrow and will then go home to finish her recovery.

Needless to say, she will not be as active as she was for the next week or two. Please be patient with her drawing winners and posting reviews. She needs every one's thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

This jumpsuit that Courtney is wearing says "I kicked Cancer's Butt." The review will be coming soon.

When I was given the opportunity to do a review/giveaway featuring the Scandle candle. I had a lot of questions for example what makes this candle different than any other, and since I had never tried a body message candle I wondered if I was planning to burn off the first layer of my skin! So let me answer these questions for you~ Scandle differs from most candles in that it is not only made of soy wax. In fact it is much lighter and feels much more like body message oil the scandle candle helps to promote healthy and hydrated skin. Furthermore, it's fragrance is aromatherapy which helps set the mood for any massage or for just relaxation. The Scandle candle burns at only 2 degrees above body temperature so no it won't burn you in fact it's calming and the warmth is great for not only messages but for cuticle treatments, manicures/pedicures, or as an everyday moisturizer. It's hypoallergenic & FDA approved the scent does remain on your skin following a message, but with how marvelous it smells it actually improved how much I enjoyed the experience.

As you can see the Scandle Candle has an easy pour spout which helps when trying to apply the candle to the body. If you don't like the actual body message oil you can also use it as just an aromatherapy candle for the scent and ambience. I also received a sample of their Dead Sea Salt Soak & Scrub this scrub is fabulous the scent is amazing and is perfect for a foot scrub or a whole body scrub you can also combine them with the scandle candle body oil for an exfoliating scrub! My personal experience with both of these samples was amazing not only was the candle romantic, but it really was something that I had never tried. I loved the feel of the scrub, and what's better than getting a message from my honey?? Nothing! It smells so wonderful and while the scent lingers it is such a calm and relaxing smell. I look forward to burning the candle not only for a message, but after my surgery I can't wait to lay around and smell the unique scent. Chad and I have been dating for over two years now and although our relationship is very healthy there are times where it feels stagnate. It's completely normal and to keep things healthy, new, and exciting introducing different things into our love life is so very beneficial!

Being sexy and sensual sometimes does get kicked to the waist side, especially for those with children or who just don't see each other that much. For me I do see where sometimes our intimacy does seem more like a routine which sometimes makes it less enjoyable. When Eden Fantasys offered me the opportunity to review a Kissa I was elated! Why not surprise Chad with a little something we haven't tried before, why not enjoy time alone, and why wouldn't I try something new?!

The Kissa is an interesting selection and is very unique in texture and size. Being that it was tempered glass was definitely a new thing for me a very new experience- who would've thought. But it was exciting none the less. The Kissa offers a very sensual experience the feel of it is very interesting with nubs, and swirls, and the thickness it offers. It has three different settings as far as the vibrations go which are very simple to control- the touch of a button, and it's not loud at all so no need to worry about that. The vibrations aren't that strong even on the third level, which is great especially for first timers and with the unique texture it's even great for returning customers. It was a great introduction into my personal life and would be a perfect addition to any collection. It is six inches in length, tempered glass, and of course it's pink! When I received my Kissa I was pleasantly surprised considering it came with a velvet draw string bag making it easy to hide and doesn't show visibly if someone were to come across it. I don't want to get too personal so I hope i've peeked your interest in the Kissa and encourage you to go and check it out.

One of the other fabulous additions to Eden Fantasys when you visit their shop all of their items have reviews on them which means you get to read about another persons experience and you get to find out all the specific information relating to the item that interests you. It informs you of the material safety, the items rating, popularity of that item, it's vroom (vibration if applies) level, the loudness of the item (if applies) and an overview of the item. It helps you decide if this product is right for you. Not my Everyday Post...

About two months ago I started feeling the symptoms of what I assumed was hypothyroidism- fatigue, weight gain, difficulty swallowing, depression, constipation, and abnormal menstrual cycles. Not to mention the HUGE growth in my throat that made it almost impossible to eat normal bites. I immediately went to the Dr.'s who ordered immediate lab work- my lab work was within normal range. I felt better I figured okay so maybe it's not that serious or maybe this "growth" was causing these symptoms. Then he ordered a cat scan ok I can deal with that, sure it's not fun but if it's important I'll do it. I was supposed to just go in and get one not lasting more than 30 minutes....about two hours later as well as 2 cat scans and an ultrasound later and an unexpected visit from another different Dr. who came in because he wanted to see this growth and talk to me. I knew at that time that this actually was more serious than I expected.

Then I returned to my regular Dr. who put me on some antidepressants that did help with a lot of my anxiety and referred me to a surgeon to get a fine needle biopsy. I was scared but knew that this procedure was the only way they could find out if the growth was benign. However, the day I was scheduled for just a surgical consult the Dr. was worried and asked me to do the biopsy that day. Now I was REALLY scared- I had come by myself b/c I figured I would just have a consult. I have severe needle phobia and almost immediately went into panic. But after three calm down pills (LOL) I was ok. The procedure was the most painful procedure I've ever endured. It was awful I can only explain it in one way- you guys ever watched someone get lypo like on a t.v. show and that tube is like jabbed into them it was like that but with a needle and in my throat three different times multiple different stabs. In and out and in and out....it was awful. But my results would be in within three days and my follow up was seven days away so I was confident this would be it.

On Wednesday I called the Dr. they told me they couldn't relay the results of my FNA (fine needle aspiration) over the phone. It was procedure that the Dr. go over it with me. Ok, that's fair. Monday arrived finally and the next thing I knew Chad (my b/f) and I were on the way to the Dr.'s. Chad looked at me so confidently on the way there and said- Courtney, you'll be fine it's Gods will and you've done so many great things for people it's going to be fine. Taking a deep breath I walked into the office. I got called back within ten minutes of signing in..that was unusual. I went and sat down and got my vitals checked my pulse was racing. But, nothing would prepare me for what was to come. The Dr. came in and sat down and told me that my biopsy results came back and I had papillary thyroid cancer. Immediately I stopped listening tears started filling up my eyes Chad started crying and I sat in utter disbelief of what I had just heard. Ok, pay attention Courtney this is important. He began to go over the surgery they planned to do removing the left part of my thyroid and my whole thyroid if they felt it necessary as well as my lymph nodes. And then the worst came- following surgery we will discuss chemo and whether or not this would be the next step. CHEMO!?!? We planned the surgery and 7 days from today and next Tuesday I will be admitted to the hospital for surgery. I will be in the hospital for two days and I appreciated the honesty I did, but he said I would be in possibly the worst pain of my life. I would be laid up for 3 weeks and unable to drive due to having to turn my neck.

I sat still ( I never sit still) and I saw Chad falling apart I knew I had two options. I was going to be really REALLY brave or break down. I knew I needed to be brave. If I was brave the people around me would feel better. I called my mom and without shedding a tear explained to her the news and procedure. I began calling other members of my family as well as close friends and shared the news. Every time word vomit came (where you have that lump in your throat and your about to cry) I would just say it as firmly as I could "I'ma be alright, I'ma fighter" It's a feeling I hope no one that I know ever has to go through to say those dreaded three words- I have cancer but being strong is hard. Last night I had company and then went to a friends house for evening blogging and was holding up really well.

I know it sounds like I whining or being selfish but I'm not this is just a place to vent. Being strong is so hard I feel like I should be the one falling apart and the people around me should be the one's who are being strong. I feel like I'm being so strong that it'll hit me at some point and I'll fall apart and the what happens if and the unknown is so scary. I'll be asleep in surgery what if I wake up and the next thing I know it's spread further or what if I wake up and they say that everything went as planned how am I going to react to this?!? Point blank the rest of my life will be different I'll have check ups about once every two weeks, I'll be on medication for the rest of my life, there's a possibility I'll never talk the same way, or be able to sing (which I do so wonderfully in the car and shower LOL) I'll have to go in every six months for x-rays, cat scans, and possibly more biopsy's and it's a scary experience.

Thanks for letting me vent- I wrote this whole post without a tear WOOHOO!! But for all my bloggy friends let me say that after next Tuesday my posts may be sparatic, and somethings may be a few days off, but I'm hoping to use this time to blog like crazy!! Ok, so I'm sure you all have heard some the crazy laws- you know the one's that are cr@zy

Here's a list of some of the Crazy Laws in VA

There is a state law prohibiting "corrupt practices of bribery by any person other than candidates"
You may not engage in business on Sunday, for the exception of almost every industry
Driving while not wearing shoes is prohibited
Police Radar Detectors are Illegal
Citizens must honk their horn when passing other vehicles
Children are not to go trick-or-treating on Halloween
It's illegal to tickle a woman
No animal may be hunted on Sunday with the exception of racoons which maybe hunted until 2am

Now what makes all of this worse.....some cities have dumb laws specifically for that city. I don't live directly in this city but I'm 15 minutes away so here's the dumb law for my city.

It is illegal for a woman to drive a car up Main St. unless her husband is walking in front of the car waving a red flag.

That's my little princess Emma and I'm her silly CooCoo as she calls me! This is the little girl I Nanny for. She's so smart and it's hard to believe she'll be two soon.

This picture just makes me smile and so does this warmer weather. I love taking photo's and although my camera is pretty crappy sometimes I catch some of the best shots. I leave you all with her kissy face!!

To show how fabulous their products are I've decided to go step by step on how I applied the make up- so let's start with the before shot
First I started with my index card that was sent to me with the makeup that helped me to find the right shade of foundation. It helped me try tips like

Test at least 3 different shades on the side of your chin at a time
When you find the shade that disappears you've found your perfect match
Wear for a day in different types of light just to make sure it's the correct color
If you still can't find you shade Contact The All Natural Face for a customized blend

I blended two colors together for my perfect match Medium Beige Warm & Medium Beige Warmer

Next I applied the Oily Lid Shadow Primer Buff on my eyelids to help keep my eyeshadows on- another little secret you can apply it to your face for oil control & shine shield
Then I used the color Ice Fairy as an all over eyelid color
I used the color Deep Steel Teal for a crease color
I also used the color Deep Steal Teal for my under eyeliner
I used the Vegan Liquid Eyeliner for my top eyeliner (the fine tip brush is fabulous)
The Flavored Got Tint Peppermint Stick Lip Gloss for my lips

I loved the products I used from The All Natural Face and they sent me so many samples I'll be trying their products for quite sometime. 25 different Eyeshadow colors and 20 different shades of mineral foundations. I also received an Eye Fix-it eyeshadow primer or eyeliner primer, natural black mascara with length and volume, Flavored Got Tint?
