Photographers enjoy and have play-dates too! It's something that I look forward to doing about once a month or so with the local photographers in this area. We have a pot luck lunch or dinner talk about the latest vendors so that we can bring you the VERY best products, discuss new techniques, the latest equipment and all the stuff our families are tired of hearing about. We even at times point the camera at each other for some fun "getting-the-shot shots. This past Saturday I hit the road and headed to Richmond VA. We met up at Grace Yoga the manager Rachel Baxter Cook was a willing and stunning bride model.

Words can't express how much fun I had. Although we did get some rain and horrible overcast it turned out to be perfect! Check out one of the yoga teachers Lauren Fritsch. She was so much fun and willing to try and do anything!

It was a Yoga studio after all!

I also want to spotlight the floral designer who happens to also be a Wedding & Event Planner. Elations Pauline has some gorgeous details to her table setting as well as the floral arragments she brought for us.

Most Wanted | In Northern Virginia

The case of Erica Heather Smith will be featured Saturday on the television show America’s Most Wanted. Erica's family needs justice! This case really hit home for many reasons one of them being this is my children's cousins' sister. There have been many years of sleep-less nights wondering what happen to their baby girl.
Her family needs closure so they can truly put Erica to rest.

Erica disappeared on July 29, 2002, and her body was located 10 days later in a wooded area in the Beaumeade Corporate Park in Ashburn, VA. Erica was 14-years-old at the time of her death. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office continues to gather information and investigate leads that are developed surrounding the disappearance and murder of Erica.

The segment is scheduled to air at 9 p.m Saturday, February, 28, 2009. The show airs locally on WTTG Fox 5. The America’s Most Wanted website now lists 1057 fugitive captures.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-0475. If the caller wishes to remain anonymous, they are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If this information leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller is entitled to a cash reward.

V-Day session | Delaware Photographer

I have oh sooo many GREAT images of sweet baby Conner to share. I can't seem to edit them all fast enough. We had his session on Valentines Day and it was my first day in Dover for mini sessions, birthdays, car tinting, skating, basketball games and visit with my partner Lori and her girls {my lovely nieces}. Needless to say our cameras rarely stayed in their bags. This little guys mom and dad have been dying to see images from their session. They waited the entire l-o-n-g weekend to get this super sneak peak. So without further ado here is baby Conner.

Some families I meet and just fall completely in love with them. They welcome me to their home like I've been there a million times. The L family is no different. I can't express enough how much I LOVE this family! We had a mini session for the kids this past weekend while I was in Delaware. These children are GORGEOUS! And little N is the only boy with these stunning ladies.

10 years ago my childhood friend loss the most dear person in her life, her dad. He feel ill and God called him home. I truly believe J and her father communicate in their own little way. I know that it sounds crazy but trust me she can still feel the love of her father even though he is in heaven.
J, It was my pleasure to be there with your family to remember him and release balloons in his honor. Even though your all grown up and have a lovely family of your own you will always be daddy's little girl.

I'm pretty sure little Miss A is a daddy's girl too. Look at her lovely big blue eyes. Such a sweetie pie and oh so grown up.

J I can't wait to return to your home to do baby V's session. He is a adorable!

I love being able to watch my newborns grow. I met up with the B family today to see baby K. He is one of those babies that never lost any hair in fact he has more hair than most toddlers do! I love it! He has the cutest little baby chub face. I couldn't stop kissing him. One of moms friends had the most adorable and fitting shirt made for him. When she showed it to me we knew we had to get a "shot" of him in it. Thanks for having me over again. Enjoy your sneak peak.

America's Next Baby Top Model | Maryland Newborn Photographer

Sugar and spice and all things nice....What little girls are made of....

I couldn't ask for a more perfect newborn session. This darling almost 1 month old slept our entire session. In fact when we wanted to wake her up she didn't want anything to do with it. Lucky for me I was fast and was able to capture one quick image of those gorgeous eyes!

There is one "wise-tale" that I believe in 110%...When you have heartburn while pregnant that means your baby will have a lot of hair. I asked mom if she had it and she just smiled. Look at this shiny full head of hair.

I just love baby bits and pieces!

Mom and Auntie I hope you enjoyed your sneak peak. It was my pleasure to meet baby K today! I can't wait to watch this little princess grow!

What is sick? | Northern Virginia Photographer

My girl...my girl is sick! My girl has been fighting a cold since Christmas. I let her stay home this past Tuesday and she rested but still was up playing wanting to do ALL the things "sick" kids that stay home from school shouldn't do. Then yesterday morning she comes in my room and is crying saying that her ear hurts. What does momma say...lets take some Mortin and your GOING to school. All the time I'm thinking she is really ok and just trying to pull one over on me. Well she spends about 15 minutes at school and guess who calls... the nurse. "Well she's here in the office and her ear is pretty red"

I pick her up and we head to the doctor's office only to find out the poor thing has ALL of the following:
Strep Throat
Ear Infection
Bronchitis
Pneumonia

YES all of that at ONCE. My poor baby. My niece said it the best..."OMG {she's about to turn 12 hence the talking in text} did she swim in a pool of sickness?"

I think maybe she did. We had a very long day yesterday and last night and it will be the same today and tonight. Every 4 hours I need to wake her so she can take her nebs (Nebulizer}. I NEVER thought I would be "thankful" that I have one in my home already for my son. WOW did I just say that. NO really if we didn't already have it I would've spent a lot more yesterday. Oh and did you know you can get FREE antibiotics at your local Giant? You didn't? Me neither...I paid my regular co-pay price at CVS and when I got home I happened to see that they are running that promotion right now. Remind me to watch TV more often.

Hang in there I'm hoping to respond to all emails and inquiries between naps today. Thanks to all my Facebook Friends that have posted well wishes to my baby girl. Here are some super quick edits of her doing her treatments yesterday.

A good friend just told me that her grandmother always said "be careful what you do on New Year's because that's how your year will be." Mom I promised you wouldn't be sorry if you allowed me to photograph you with your new bundle of joy. Look at how stunning you look here with him!

Oh so often with newborns the parents and I experience "baby-accidents" this session was no different but being that this dad is a NEW dad, he totally freaked out. Mom and I had a good chuckle from his reaction to being soiled on, but the image turned out just as planned.

My gift! My last blog post I talked about Giving is Awesome and asked you to write in and nominate a family you felt deserved a year round reminder of their family's spirit, love and beauty. Well I am happy to announce that I have selected a WINNER for my Giving is Awesome Giveaway!

The family nominated are sisters, they loss their mom due to complications from asthma. "M" the oldest sister quickly stepped in to-be "mom" to her younger sister "J" who is now a single mom of a 2 year old. They are taking it one day at a time and keeping in mind that family is what is most important to them. This story touches my heart for many reasons. Those that know me personally know that my son has asthma and I understand completely how scary that illness is. The economy hasn't been kind to a lot of people. They have overcome an unimaginable loss. Here are some of the closing words used in this family nomination letter.

"They have had an incredibly challenging year and "J" has managed to stay positive and persevere. I think she needs to feel like she's worth it. I don't know if she owns her own camera but I'm sure she has never had the opportunity have professional pictures done and she may never have that opportunity. Kids are only young once and at a time in her life when she barely has a possession to her name, it would be nice to have something that would last a lifetime to remember these young years by."

I can't wait to meet this wonderful family!

As the year comes to an end I would like to take this time to thank all my clients, friends and family. Thank you for your support and for making my first official year in business a rewarding one. I am so blessed to have you all in my life. It brings me great joy to be able to provide you with lifetime memories through my photography. I look forward to 2009 and making new friends!

I can't go without sharing a couple of pictures... Over the holiday's I got to spend sometime with my niece she is just about 4 months old and has the most gorgeous lips ever! What out Angelina!

Introducing my niece M

She was born Sat Aug 30th on our family reunion. She came in at 9.7 pounds and 21 1/2 inches long. She is healthy and OH so loved.
Yesterday during the Tropical Storm Hannah my good friend Beth came out to assist in Miss M's first of many to come photo shoots. What a good little model she was for us. Congrats baby brother and D to a gorgeous little one. Thanks for blessing our family with such a beautiful little one. We love you!
