Mixing it up with Black, Grey and Pink

I left the inside of this card blank so it could be used for any occasion. I like the soft shading of the Whisper Ink (Z2172) on the embossed hearts. The black flowers are easy - cut from the CTMH Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy (Z1686) and a sparkle touch in the center with Red Glitz Glitter Gel (Z1484).

Santa Ornaments for my Newest Grandchildren

Sydney 4 months

I couldn't post about these before Christmas as they were a surprise for my daughters.

I painted those inexpensive flat wood ornaments, black pin dots for eyes, pink chalk on the nose, added some glitter on the cap, flipped it over and glued my favorite picture of Sydney and Devin on the back, sanding the edges. I finished them with a fun 'Santa beard' and tags embossed with 'First Christmas'. They did turn out nice. I made two others for my tree however they were the 'present' shape and not near as cute. I made a star shaped ornament for Calvan on his first Christmas in 2009.

Door Hanging for my grandson Calvan

I found these 10" chipboard letters at Hobby Lobby and wanted to make them for each of my grand kids.
On this one, I used some buttons, twine, scrabble letters and those cute little clothes pins working with a boy theme. Sanded and inked the edges and added a picture hanger to the back.

Happy Boss Day Card

We have a lot in common, what I meant to say was Happy Boss Day!

These fun colors just looked like sunshine to me so I weaved some scraps into a circle and then stamped the words on the sunshine rays. I used the extra two pieces I cut from the top of the circle to add dimensions to the card by popping them up on the bottom of the sun.
For the inside sentiment, I used my printer. How did I get it to print on the small strips you ask?
Step 1: design your sentiment in a word document, leaving enough space between the lines and print it out
Step 2: place your cut strips OVER the printed words with removable adhesive
Step 3: run the same page back through the printer and hit print again - this time it will print on your strips
Note: make sure you have your page in to print on the same side as the first time

Devin Ukiah Walker 9-7-2012

First an apology for not posting lately. Both of my daughters gave birth this summer - actually two weeks apart. It has been very busy and of course enjoyable but has kept me away from my usual computer time. Hopefully, I will be able to spend more time at blogging going forward. My last post was my new granddaughter and now this is my new grandson. This brings the total to three grandchildren - so much fun and more pictures to scrapbook.

Grandma's in love!

Meet Sydney Lanea Archer! She weighed 6lbs 12oz, 19.5" long - really tiny features.
More than one nurse commented on her cry belonging to a much older baby, not a new born. When we removed her clothes for a diaper change, she would just 'sob' until you cuddled her back up. So dramatic and sweet - that's my princess!
