Facebook and Social Media - The Next Marketing Opportunity

Marketing as an activity is all about reaching the right customers with the right products, and the result sought is delighted customers who are more than willing to open their purses wide enough to boost your revenues. For many years, marketers stalked their target customers through various means and by trying to get their message across to spread awareness about their wares.

Traditional Means of Communication

Traditionally, marketing communications were conducted via print, broadcast and such traditional media through disruptive advertising, where advertisements appear in between the content of interest for the customer.

Traditional media does give a large reach to a marketer with its programming of mass appeal. However, the wastage is equally high, since a large portion of the audience would belong to a different segment than the one that is to be targeted by the marketer.

Enter Social Media and the Internet

The revolution stirred by the internet as a medium took place because of the fact that it is highly personalized and provides more content on-demand than any other available medium. Social sites proliferated far and wide in their usage for a few simple reasons:

The power to create and distribute content is equally available to every user, irrespective of him/her being a customer or a marketer. In the earlier forms of media, that power rested with the editorial staff of the channel or the advertiser, but hardly ever with the user.
The medium is completely personalized, and a user can create or join groups and further create content based on what he/she likes.
Opinions are free and fair. This is one reason why social media is of utmost concern to marketers, since buying decisions are no more influenced as much by advertisements. The traditional word-of-mouth marketing approach has grown leaps and bounds on social networks.

Facebook – At the Center of Social Media

With 500 million (and growing) unique users worldwide, Facebook is the number one social networking site in terms of activity and subscriptions. What started as a garage initiative by Mark Zuckerberg has now become the biggest phenomenon on the internet.

A user interface that allows for quick communication and the ability to create fan pages and groups at the click of a mouse button are what make Facebook extremely popular. Another important reason for its immense popularity is the wide variety of social applications that have been developed and made available within the Facebook environment.

These applications can allow users and friends to do joint activities like playing games that run endlessly, sharing photos, videos, and web links, and many more.

How does this help a marketer?

Traditionally, media plans were drawn to include television channels, publications, or any other media that can grab maximum eyeballs and effectively reach a selected target audience. The science of segmentation and targeting has become only more accurate in the case of social media.

Facebook provides a wide variety of avenues to communicate with the audience, which opens up an entirely different world of possibilities to have a fruitful dialogue with customers. Some of these methods used popularly by marketers are:

Advertising: The first opportunity, which is the most obvious one, is advertising on Facebook. The difference, however, is the fact that you can create your own advertisement in a matter of minutes and also specify the details of your target group in terms of demographics and types of discussions where you want your advertisement to appear.
Fan Pages: Facebook allows every brand, as well as individual users, to create fan pages for their favorite celebrities and their own homegrown businesses. Large brands have also created their official pages on Facebook that have a huge, immediate fan following around the world. The fan page has immense utility to convey first hand information about the brand and also to collect immediate and frank feedback from your customers.
Branded applications: One of the most effective ways to engage a user toward your brand is by creating an application; this could be a game or a contest, with your branding coming across subtly through it.

What makes Facebook even more exciting is the way it allows you to target your communication sharply just to the customer segment you want to attract. It also provides analytics and page insights that give good feedback and measurement on the activity done.

The options provided by Facebook can be creatively explored and used judiciously for bringing about maximum benefits to any brand.

However, while doing all this, you need to be aware of the fact that customers have an equal say and have the ability to respond immediately to any of your actions with a thumbs up or a thumbs down. The Business Biography Of Liz Tomey

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.

Is It Truly Easy To Make A Profit In IM?

I’ve been checking out this new program, and I wanted to give you my honest review of the new and upcoming Easy IM Profits program. It holds great mystery as to why so many people are succeeding with it.

Well I was lucky enough to get my hands on a trial copy, and this is what I've found...

Access
When I registered for the program, I could choose my own login details which were instantly active after I sent off my payment. Basically, there was no waiting time as I could log in to get started on the course straight away.

Layout
The course itself is laid out inside an actual members area, which looks really neat. Each section of the course has its own section within the members area, all clearly laid out in the order that you should progress through them.

In my opinion, this is the best thing about the course, as I knew exactly where to start and exactly where I should go next. This is something that other courses lack, big style.

Content
Wow, is there a lot of content in here! As mentioned before, it's not all jumbled about either, so I had no confusion about where to get started.

In total there are Five modules, each with many videos inside, with the average being about 30 minutes long for each video. Also, each video finishes with a few "Action Steps", which show you what to do next before you move onto the next video.

The course starts with an "Introduction" section, which explains everything about the course, how to get the best results from it, and a basic introduction to Internet Marketing. Also, this section contains some mindset training videos which helped me out a lot, as I've learned that a lot of the stuff going round nowadays and the stuff that people are saying is actually wrong information.

After that, there's the "Genesis" section. Now, this is where the meat of the course begins.

James walks you through important topics I never knew about before including how to create a good product idea, how to do online niche research (with hardly any effort), and how to recognize who your audience is and what they want, which everyone knows will boost your cash in the long run.

The only thing I would suggest is that because of the amount of stuff he goes through, he talks too fast sometimes and it's worth pausing the video to catch up on your notes.

Next is the "Product Creation" section, which did exactly as promised - helped me create my very first full-blown product.

The biggest video here is the "Product Creation 101" video, as he shows you everything you need to know about building your own information product (in any niche), including e-books, an audio series, and also a video course just like this one. After that, he shows you how to set up your website, including writing the sales page and setting up your payment systems, as well as your very own blog.

In fact, I thought this was going to be the hardest part of the course, but it was actually taught without any technical jargon that other so-called "Gurus" like to use all the time. This meant that I could follow the videos easily and finally understand some golden nuggets that I'll be using right away.

The next section he goes through is the "Cash Time" section, which I think is named to reflect what's inside - the cash.

In this section, I learnt all about list building and traffic generation, before finally releasing my newly-created product in my very own product launch. In fact, there's some stuff in here that even my friend who makes a good income from IM didn't know about!

When you place your order, there's also the option to take up the Profit Boosters section add-on, which I gladly took him up on. I highly recommend doing the same, as this section is jam-packed full of cool videos that most people fail to teach to newbies.

For example, there's a tutorial about video marketing and how you can get started for virtually free, E-Mail Marketing (which follows on from the list building video), how to create awesome content for your website and blog, how to improve your virtual sales funnel for more cash, and a lot more awesome videos which I can't possibly list all of them here.

Oh yeah, that's another thing too - all of the videos within the members area show you how to succeed with a very small budget. In fact, most of the tools he recommends inside the course are actually free, so there's no worries about raking up extra costs once inside.

Now this is something that I can't really comment on, because I got my copy for free. And the truth is that James said he doesn't actually know how much he's going to charge for this. But if I was going to pay for this course myself, I'd gladly pay anything up to $497. We'll just have to wait and see!

We've all had bad days as marketers, but some are much worse than others. While bad luck happens and poor sales days aren't uncommon, sometimes something much more sinister is at play. There are hackers and script-running marketers out there to steal your affiliate commissions, and it could be costing you thousands of dollars, every year. These unethical marketers operate through spyware and secret ad programs, which automatically convert affiliate links into their own, stealing your commissions and earning them cash.

It's highly unethical, and it gives real marketers a bad name. While you put in the hard work creating landing pages, mastering PPC campaigns, and building dedicated SEO resources, these leeches are out there coding their bots, ready to steal your hard work and turn it into their own conversions. While affiliate networks fight against this sort of behavior, there's little that they can do. After all, the traffic looks the same, and the sales are genuine. It's just the method that's horribly unethical.

Of course, there are two ways to deal with the problem. The first is to get mad about the situation and try to fight the leeches head on. You can report them, follow them, and tell other affiliates about them. While it certainly makes things more difficult for them, it's not a solution that's going to bring you any more sales. Hackers are sharp, and always looking for a new solution. When you call them out, they simply run away and build a better bot.

The second solution is to actively prevent yourself from becoming a victim. Rather than giving away your affiliate code in your links, you should cloak it, and disguise it from buyers and potential thieves. Using simple tracking software, you can keep the unethical marketers away from your personal information, and keep your commissions to yourself. No worrying about unethical conduct, no cookie theft, and no lost commissions.

Ever wish pay-per-click marketing could be as easy as copy-and-paste? I won’t waste your time trying to convince you it is, because it’s not, but all too many affiliates shoot themselves in the foot by focusing all of their attention where the competition is fiercest – Google.

Most PPC beginners would automatically assume that Google’s traffic is always the highest-converting and most profitable, simply because it is the biggest game in town. They would be wrong. In fact, there are other pay-per-click advertising networks out there that can be easier to use, cheaper and sometimes even more profitable than Google Adwords.

One of the most frequently overlooked is MSN Adcenter. By rights, it should hardly be obscure, given that it is owned and operated by Microsoft, but surprisingly few marketers are taking advantage of the advertising opportunities MSN has to offer.

Sure, MSN may have less than 10% of online search traffic, but that still amounts to hundreds of millions of visitors per month. What’s more, the quality of MSN’s visitors, from a marketer’s perspective, is very high – a high percentage of them have made recent online purchases.

MSN Adcenter has some qualities that make it ideal for the beginner, such as the absence of some of the more burdensome rules and regulations that stymy many beginner affiliate marketers. While there are ad quality guidelines, there is no “Google Slap” to worry about on MSN Adcenter. Ads will not mysteriously start demanding $5 or $10 bids per click in order to keep running, and click prices overall can be considerably cheaper than those on Google Adwords in many cases.

Affiliates advertising on MSN Adcenter also do not have to worry about direct linking – unlike Google Adwords, Adcenter has no rules requiring that only one advertiser per keyword link to a particular landing page, so you are under no obligation to go to the trouble of designing a squeeze page for your campaigns.

Don’t get me wrong – Google Adwords is, and will continue to be, a great advertising platform for affiliates. The thing to remember is that despite its size, Google is not the be-all and end-all of online advertising and affiliate marketing – the field of opportunities is much bigger than that.

Abundance is a concept often debated in spiritual and entrepreneurial circles.

Entrepreneurs commonly use the catch-phrase "thinking BIG," but they really mean the same thing.

Abundance is tough to define because it's one of those unique ideas that must be experienced to really be understood ... it can't just be explained.

Yet the most encouraging part of adopting an abundance mindset is how it can connect you to people with totally different set of beliefs and values.

It instantly sustains inclusivity even with people who are dramatically different.

POP QUIZ: What do Mother Theresa and Donald Trump have most in common?

The answer is their abundance mind-set.

Donald Trump says, "If you're going to think anyway, you might as well think big."

Mother Theresa said: "The more we discover the magnitude and abundance of God's gifts, the more we will find ourselves."

Again, the abundance mindset creates connections.

Bucky Fuller had this to say about the abundance mindset:

"The condition of planet earth is abundance. Our belief in either scarcity or abundance determines how our financial, legal, political and military systems are set up or exist at all.
