I am a little late with sharing this post but better late then never, right?

A while ago I received an unbranded PR sample which is a new high-street 2-in-1 cleansing facial wash and a 3 minute mask. It will be revealed on March 1st which brand actually make the product.

I haven't really taken the time to try and find out who the company actually is but I am quite excited to find out.

As a cleanser I think this is nothing special but I love it as a mask! It is a 3 minute mask, so quick and easy. After the 3 minutes my skin looked lovely and smooth with no redness, I would repurchase this to use as a mask!

IMATS Haul Video

On Saturday, in the freezing cold weather I went to IMATS in Alexandra Palace- for those of you that don't know IMATS is the International Makeup Trade Show which is held every year in 6 different cities worldwide. I was luckily given a press pass which was really good as tickets are about £45 and the venue is only round the corner from my boyfriends house so I got a lift there (after 30mins of faffing about with the car and removing all the ice.) I really enjoyed my time however if I had to buy my own ticket I may not have gone as I am only buying makeup for myself but if you are a makeup artist then it is worth going as most brands have great discounts.

IMATS does get quite busy so going along early is a great idea, when I arrived at 9am is was basically empty. Watch the video below to see what I purchased, please excuse the mess I thought it wasn't in shot!
It is a long one-I talk way too much!

Amarya Natural & Organic Beauty Box

Amarya is a website which sells Organic and Natural Beauty products from brands such as NEOM, Zoya and Ren. I was sent their December beauty box to try out which I was very excited about.

Before lifting the lid of the box I noticed that the quality as good as all the other boxes I have seen, this is no better then a cheap shoe box.

Inside the December box there is a full size REN Grapefruit & Neroli Gift set, Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream (trial size) and Acorelle Eau de Parfum (sample), usually there is five samples within the Beauty Boxes so I was surprised by the lack of products.

I was very impressed by the REN Gift set which includes two large products however I will never use the other two products.

This box isn't for me, it is aimed at people who love natural and organic beauty products and I personally don't really mind. However although I wouldn't ever subscribe to this beauty box, I do think it is a great idea especially if you love organic beauty products. If you only use natural beauty products the other beauty boxes I have come across would not be suitable for you so this is a perfect alternative (although I wish it were in a nicer reusable box!)

This box is available to buy for £20 however I subscription works out at only £10 a box.

L'oreal It's All In The Eyes

I love dark eyeliner and layers of mascara so when I heard about the three new eye product L'oreal were releasing I couldn't help but be very interested. Set to release this month L'oreal has a new liquid eyeliner, gel eyeliner and mascara the promotional images have Cheryl Cole all over them but I actually quite like them.

False Lash Telescopic Mascara

I always think you are either a Maybelline mascara fan or a L'oreal fan, for me L'oreal wins. The False Lash Telescopic mascara is suppose to be similar to the original Telescopic mascara which is a favourite with many people I know. In all honesty I know I have tried Telescopic in the past and even repurchased it but I can't remember too much about it in order to compare them. I do think my mascara tastes have changed recently and I know prefer a more traditional mascara wand to the rubber ones like this one. I find the thinner rubber mascara wands have sharper bristle which can often irritate my eye if I accidentally rub it along my lash line.

Spiky-ness aside I do like this mascara- the size of the brush gives you lots of control meaning it is quick and easy to apply. The colour is very black like I expect from all my mascaras and the final look is volumised, thick lashes.

Super Liner Gel Intenza
I love the packaging on the new L'oreal Gel Eyeliner, it looks far more expensive then any other ones which I have tried. It is in a clear glass tub (don't know what else to call it) with a gold screw on lid, looks like packaging you would see on a higher end counter. It also comes with a good brush which is a nice length to carry around but still allow you to have control over your eyeliner. I have only tried this on the lash line and it is extremely creamy, black and lasted a good amount of time. I am sure this will quickly become my favourite pharmacy gel eyeliner.

Super Liner Perfect Slim
My favourite eyeliner as many of you may already know is the L'oreal Carbon Gloss however I was quite excited to try this liquid liner. Usually I don't like the pen eyeliner as I feel the line isn't quite as black as I would like and I feel that this one also fits into that category, although it is darker then many I have tried. The great thing about this mascara is how thin the nib actually is, its perfect for cat eyes and detailed eyeliner work.

Nail Rock Meadham Kirchhoff

A couple of days ago at the Missguided event (more on that very soon) they were offering Nail Rocks Nail Wraps and how could I say now. Their Spring Summer collection looks fab and features some great new patterns and some really unusual ones.

I went for the Meadham Kirchhoff nail wraps, which are actually yet to be released and consist of ten different images of cartoon, dolls, Teddies and even a ladies bits. I got them applied at the event but I have applied them various times myself (I think I usually apply them a little better then this too) and they are super easy to apply since they no longer require heat!

Due to the fact I can't go to work with ladies bits on my nails this print was missed out as were two of the other ones as they didn't fit on my nails quite as well.

I literally love these nail wraps and are by far my favourites, I love that they are all different. However they aren't out yet but will be only available at TopShop when they do finally come out.

I also had a look at the Eye Rock eye tattoos which I had never seen before they look really interesting but I would imagine they are quite hard to work.

Eyeko Curvy Brush Mascara

As I am sure many of you know Eyeko now only sells eye products such as mascara and eyeliner, which although means we no longer get the nail polishes and other product does make total sense for a brand called 'Eyeko'. A while back I was invited to their offices to have a look at their 'mascara wardrobe' which consist of three different mascaras, with three different brushes to achieve a three different looks. There is a Skinny Brush for 'tall and long' lashes, a Curvy brush for 'Curl & Hold' as well as a Fat brush for 'Big & Bold' Lashes

Today I am talking about the Curvy Brush for 'Curl & Hold' which has a quite unusual brush which looks like three circles. It has Shea butter and keratin which helps condition the lashes and the shape of the brush helps hold the curl and define the lashes.

If you do want drama then this mascara isn't enough for you however it does define and curl your lashes for a natural look. I like the shape of the brush as it allows you to grip all your lashes and the size gives you a lot of control.

The mascara also comes with a guitar pick which is suppose to be placed above your eye to avoid getting any of the mascara on your eyelid, personally I would never use this, it may be useful for a makeup artist but far too much work for me on a day to day basis.

This mascara (and all other Eyeko products) is available from Harvey Nichols, the Eyeko Website and ASOS for a pretty pricey £15, I personally think this mascara isn't worth the money however I will be reviewing the rest of the Eyeko Mascaras very soon so keep an eye out!

IMATS 2012

Tomorrow is the first day of IMATS London 2012 (for the general public), the International Makeup Artistry Trade Show which lasts two days and will take place in London's Alexandra Palace. As Sunday is my Birthday I will be attending just on Saturday and hope to be there before 8.30am.

I have never been before and am not sure what to expect, I am sure that it will be quite packed and that there will be some great brands showcasing their amazing talents. I have a few things which I know I want to pick up already such as a MUFE mascara and quite a few makeup brushes, most people get really excited about OCC lip tars however I think I wont pick any up.

I will also hopefully see lots of bloggers there and if you are interested in also attending tickets will be able to purchase at the door.

Quick Post

Glossy Box Valentines Special 2012

I was very excited to have the Valentines Special Glossy Box especially as it's hot pink, I always get excited when GlossyBox changed the colour of their boxes for a special occasion.

The packaging on the inside was also really pretty, I like the cute pink heart and I love that the ribbon is grey and not pink as well.

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner
This product caught my eye first as it is one of the brands I know the most about from the whole box. Its a full size eyeliner which is one of the products from the re-brand of Eyeko. I got it in the colour Emerald green and it has led me to want to try some more. I will hopefully be able to review a few of them very soon.
Clarins Extra Firming Night Cream & Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream
These Clarins creams added little value to my Glossy Box as they are aimed at an older audience however some people received a Davines cleanser and moisturiser which I would have been very happy with.
FAB Gentle Body Wash
I don't often use these little body washes however I think if you travel a lot or stay over at friends houses these are perfect sizes to carry around with you, I am yet to try this one but I do love the packaging.
Murad Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer
I was very happy to see the primer in my box and I tried it straight away, I am going to continue trying it and it is one I would consider buying in full size.

Overall I think that this Glossy Box wasn't quite for me as it was too skin care based, I did love the bright pink box however I still prefer last months box

Japonesque Brushes

Last week I received a few brushes from Japonesque which I had been very excited about. I don't know too much about the brand but I had heard very good things about all their brushes and had seen them in Boots and online, I noticed that in comparison to Mac brushes they were far more affordable.

I got sent four of the brushes; three from the Professional long handle range and one travel short handle brush. The Professional Long handle brushes are have a long black wooden handle and are either have natural bristles or high-tech synthetic ones. The travel brushes have a shorter silver handle but are still well crafted and a travel friendly size.

Travel Point Brush
This brush is quite an unusual one in my opinion, it is a tapered quite dense brush which can be used for foundation, concealer or powder. I have been using this brush everyday since I got it, I use it to first apply my foundation and then to blend in my concealer, it is probably my favourite brush for concealer especially when I am try to cover slightly larger areas. I would be interested in trying this brush for powder and mineral foundation too, I might have to buy a few more of these brushes so I can have one for powder.

Pro Angled Foundation Brush
This brush has a distinctive tapered edge which is really nice as it allows you to apply it precisely around your nose and eyes.Although this brush overs a fabulous finish I personally don't reach for it too much as it does take longer to blend all your foundation in, however if you are a fan of the traditional foundation brush and are looking for something similar but that will leave you with an even better finish this is the brush for you.

Pro Eyeshadow Fluff- Medium
This is a really nice eye brush, it is very soft, fluffy and a perfect size to apply eyeshadow all over the lid, in the crease and can even be used to blend the eyeshadow out, I'd love to get the large one too!

Pro Eye Detailer- Small
I think this brush is perfect for finishing of a look by dusting some eyeshadow under the eye or along the lash line but also for the crease and outer corner. I haven't tried it yet but I think it would even work as a lip liner!

Looking through the Japonesque catalogue they have so many beautiful images and some fabulous product I hope to try throughout the year such as the stippling brush, mineral face brush and I have heard that their tweezers are one of the best!

I also have a lipstick palette to share with you soon, so keep an eye out for that!

Japonesque Pro Brushes are available from John Lewis £9.50-£28 and the travel brushes are available from Boots from £9.75-£29.25

I think that there is no difference between the pro and travel brushes other then the size, the quality has not been compromised. I will be picking up some more brushes very soon, I think they are just as good as any MAC Brushes I have tried.

A Few Everyday Favourites (FOTD)

I never do daily makeup post or face of the days (FOTD) but since I had some time on my hand I thought I would quickly share why I was wearing yesterday.
Please ignore my eyebrows this was just before I got them done.

On my face I am wearing Revlon Colorstay in Fresh Beige, I think this is a stable foundation in any collection as it isn't expensive but offers quite good coverage on those days you need it. If you have tried this and found it didn't work for you I would recommend trying the one for a different skin type, for years I was using the one aimed at oily skin but in fact the one for dry skin works far better on me. As a concealer I was wearing my trusty Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium.

I didn't put anything in my eyebrows as I didn't want to draw any attention to them as they were quite messy. One my checks, around my temple and a little on the sides of my nose I am wearing my Sleek Contour Kit which I use almost everyday and is a handbag essential for me.

On my lips I started with a Front Cover lip liner which doesn't seem to have a name, I then put on top Mac Modesty Lipstick finished with a Barry M Glossy tube in No4, I love this combination!

On my eyes I am wearing...
Mac Rubenesque Paintpot as a base
Mac All That Glitters Eyeshadow all over the lid
Mac Antiqued Eyeshadow (which is a favourite!) lightly in the crease and under the eye
& an ELF white eyeshadow as a highligh
I use my usual Loreal Carbon Gloss eyeliner on top, Soap & Glory Pencil eyeliner to line the top of the inside of my eye and a pale No7 colour on my water line. After curling my lashes I used Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara.

Cetaphil Skincare

Excuse the photos but the product I am talking about today doesn't have fancy packaging so you aren't missing out on much in that department, however the product inside the basic Cetaphil packaging has become a staple in my skincare and a product I would highly recommend!

The Gentle Skin Cleanser is really spoken about in the beauty community however was previously hard to find in the UK however the whole range has now made it into Boots. The cleanser is aimed at all skin types even those who have more sensitive skin. Unlike my usual cleansers it is a gel like consistency and a cloudy clear colour. I personally like to add a little bit of water, lather it up in my hands and then apply to my face. To remove the cleanser I use a muslin cloth but it would work with a flannel too. It does state on the back that you can use the cleanser just on cotton pads, however I haven't tried this before.

I would highly recommend this if you are currently looking for a new cleanser or struggling with your skin, I haven't used it for a week and I can already see that my skin is in worse condition. It doesn't leave my skin tight or dry but still removed all my makeup efficiently.

The other two product I have are the Moisturising lotion and the cream, I don't find either product to be amazing, although I do quite like the Moisturising cream as I find the lotion takes longer to sink into the skin.

I will be repurchasing the Cetaphil Cleanser and would highly recommend it, it is available from Boots

World's Largest Nail polish Bottle- Models Own New Shop

If you have heard yet Models Own is set to open a new stand alone shop in Westfield and as if that isn't amazing enough it is going to be shaped as a bottle, the world largest nail polish bottle!

The shop will be opening in Westfield, Shepards Bush 2012 and will be positioned opposite Zara and Apple. You will be able to shop over 200 different polishes, nail accessories and even some in store exclusives!

I can not wait for it to open, it will be a great excuse for me to buy and try out lots of new colours!

LA Colors Phenomena & Glistening Purple

In my post yesterday I mentioned that I got some L.A Color polishes, these are quite hard to find in the UK and are more easily available in the states. However BeautyBase in Westfield does sell them and the best part is that they are just 99p!

The colour I am wearing today is called Phenomena and is almost impossible to photograph!

It is a berry pink with a creme finish, it applied quite well needing only two generous coats but dried quickly and wasn't streaky. I think this colour looks nice on most skin tones and is perfect for any age as it is too dark, light or wacky.

I couldn't help but try out another colour nail polish so I added some LA Color Glitter polish in Glistening Purple to my ring finger. Once again this was lovely to apply and I used two light coats, it is just as good as all other glitter polishes I have tried.

Judging from these two colours LA Colors is a brand worth looking in to, at 99p the nail polishes are a steal! They have a good selection of glitter polishes, which not every brand has and are really nice quality.

Gosh Extreme 2 Step Volume Mascara

Over Christmas I got a Gosh set which had the Extreme 2 Step Volume Mascara in it, I was actually going to give it away but I remember that one of my friends always raves about two step mascara. In the past I have tried them and not quite got on with them, it takes me long enough to apply one set mascara let alone two! However most of all I hate the sometime you can see the white coat which is underneath, but onto the review...

The brush on both sides of the mascara is normal size average mascara brush which I was quite happy to see, the size makes the mascara easy and quick to apply.

Step one
I was left with white lashes which didn't look much thicker and only a little longer....

Step two
My lashes look much thicker and longer however I was still disappointed. Before apply mascara I always curl my lashes however this really didn't hold the curl at all, making my lashes almost instantly straight! Although it did add volume my lashes were crispy and flaky which always gets really uncomfortable towards the end of the day.

Overall, this mascara deliver what it claims to, thicker lashes however for me the fact it doesn't hold a curl means my eyes don't look as open as I like and the dryness of the products gets uncomfortable once it begins to flake.

OPI & Nicki Minaj

I would completely be lying if I said I don't like Nicki Minaj, everytime Super Bass comes on I can not help but sing the whole of it and I often even consider a rewind. I had seen a few pictures of the new Nicki Minaj for OPI nails polishes earlier in the week but I thought it wasn't available yet in the UK however whilst in Westfield I managed to spot the set and I had to pick it up!

I am a huge fan of mini nail polishes, especially as I rarely use a nail polish more then 3 times, I love that you can try out lots of different colours for a much more affordable price. The Nicki Minaj set comes with four 3.75ml bottles in the colours Did It On 'Em, Fly, Pink Friday and Metallic 4 Life which are all inspired by her music. There are another two shade Save Me & Super Bass however they didn't come in set

I think that as collection it is pretty unusual as I think the four colours are all completely different to each other, however it isn't a bad thing as you have four totally different nail polishes which will allow you to create totally different looks!

Metallic 4 Life

This is probably the one colour I was the least excited about and I am still not in love with it, it is a black polish with medium size silver glitter, it does need a few coats in order to look opaque but I think it's the one nail polish you don't need out of the four. You could achieve the same look with a black polish and a silver glitter polish.

Pink Friday
Originally this was the colour that caught my eye, although I don't usually like pinks I am considering buying this as a full size bottle as its a really nice pink whith a creme finish. It reminds me of the OPI Mod About You however it is slightly darker and more pink. The downside is that it was the hardest colour to apply and needed a few coats.
Fly
I love the look of this polish, it has a creme finish and is just a beautiful teal colour. It is one of those colour everyone needs, it looks beautiful in the summer but still works as a great pop of colour in the winter.
Did It On 'Em
This shade remind me of some of the Shrek OPI colours but I do quite like it, it is a bright lime green which was really lovely to apply although I wouldn't imagine this colour being for everyone

Overall a great collection and I would recommend the OPI mini bottles if you already own a lot of nail polishes.

Since I haven't been as present as I had hoped this week on my blog I thought I would quickly do an Instagram round up which will also share with you a little of what I have been up to. All my Instagram photos are taken on my iPad which I don't tend to whip out whilst I am out and about so lots of the photos are of my belonging and other things which I have been up to at home.

1. The bag which I am using at the moment is the Aldo Casterline Bag it is a copy of a Celine bag however I didn't realise until I had bought it. I really love it, its a great size and shape! I bought it in the Camden Town Aldo Sale Shop for just £24.49 however I am unable to find it on the Aldo website although they have it is Taupe which is equally as nice. (here)
2. My Bling- I am often teased about the amount of gold jewellery I wear (think Mr.T) but I really love it!
3. I am in this months Superdrugs free in-store Dare magazine reviewing a face mask :)
4. Diet Coke and Benefit can ♥
5. I sorted out my lipstick drawer only to remember I have lots more in my 'to review' boxes which I will need to add soon!
6. Green and Black Chocolate after work

7. Just before leaving to go shopping in Westfield with the lovely Sophie from Sophie is Made Up, had some lovely Mexican food and made a few purchases.
8.Got sent some Japonesque Brushes to review, they look fantastic and even their catalogue is stunning!

10. YSL Lipstick for my mum and a card for her birthday, the lipstick is a Rouge Volupte in 3 and is very nice. I hope she likes it!
11. Eight new LA Color Polishes, heard good things about them so picked some up in Westfield.
12. Finally got my hand on the Nicki Minaj mini OPI Polishes which I will be blogging about soon

YSL Lipsticks

Although I am definitely not a makeup snob there is something about high-end packaging that I can't help but love and lust over in particular YSL packaging, I love anything gold, shinny and expensive looking and YSL is all of the above. Over the last few months I have acquired two YSL lipstick which I thought I would share with you.

The two YSL lipsticks I own are from two different ranges, I have one from the Voulpte Sheer Candy range which comes in the silver packaging and which, as the name suggests, is gives a sheer wash of colour. The other lipstick, in the gold tube, is from the Rouge Volupte range which gives a more opaque colour and seems to be the more popular range.

Both lipsticks are moisturising (the sheer one is the most moisturising) but do need to be applied regularly- however that's a good excuse to show of the pretty tube! The colour I own in the Voulpte Sheer Candy range is Luscious Cherry which is a sheer red/pink which is perfect for the summer. My newest one is the Rouge Volupte in Rose Culte which is also a pink/red however it is far more pigmented. Surprisingly Rose Culte, although a very bright colour still looks very sophisticated.

I love both colours however I only reach for the Sheer Candy lipstick in the summer. I will be buying myself another Rouge Volupte very soon in a lighter pink for everyday, maybe Lingerie pink.

These lipsticks are pricey at £23.50 each but are so beautiful and would make a perfect present!

OPI Tickle My France-y

I have another OPI review today this time of Tickle My France-y which was originally from the La Collection de France I believe.

Tickle my France-y is a light slightly lilac, nude with a creme finish. It does need a couple of coats although the formula is one of my favourite ever, it was a complete pleasure to apply! The colour of this polish does tend to vary depending on the light from a grey nude to a more pink beige.

This is probably the nicest nude I own and is very flattering!

I will be buying a bottle of this colour when I finish, it is a must have!

Look Beauty Stretch Factor

Today I have another mascara review of the Stretch Factor Mascara by Look Beauty*. This is quite an inexpensive mascara at just £6 but I love the pretty pink packaging, especially the print on the lid of the mascara.

The brush isn't the type of brush I usually chose, it is plastic with longer bristles on one side then the other. I always feel like these bristles are quite sharp and can actually be quite painful if you accidentally brush it on your water line. However the brush is small and easy to use as you have a lot of control over it.

The mascara aims to give length and 'stretch' your lashes and it did give me longer more defined lashes. However for me I didn't feel it thickened my lashes enough which is what I always look for in a mascara.

This mascara is good if you are looking for an inexpensive mascara which will really lengthen your lashes, the packaging is beautiful but this mascara isn't really for me.

OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress

Today I have another OPI Nail polish, this time it is a far more classic red called I'm Not Really A Waitress which I believe is (or maybe was) OPI's best seller ever.

The colour is slightly darker red with some shimmer, it needed a few coats but was very nice to apply. I think it is a really nice colour but isn't anything really special, just a nice classic colour everyone needs in their collection.

I'm sorry if there have been a few Nail polish reviews recently especilly OPI but I have been quite busy with University work and Nail Of the Day posts are one of the easier posts to do. Normal blogging will resume next week.

Soap & Glory Eyeliner and Mascara

When I first spoke about Soap & Glory cosmetics you all seemed very interested, since then I have had a chance to try out all the products. Three of the products I got were eye products a liquid eyeliner, a eyeliner pencil and a mascara. The packaging is black with pink writing and I actually really like it!

Smoulder Kohl Superblack*
When I first got this pencil I noticed just how very long it was part of the reason was because it has a very hand sharpener on the end. It is very soft compared to other high street brands I have tried and remind me a little of the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners. The pigmentation is intense and it is a joy to apply as it is so creamy, they do smudge a little but I don't really mind that too much. It quickly made it into my make-up bag, although at first it was a little too long to fit. I would repurchase this is I were to lose it or finish it, perfect eyeliner and the sharpener makes it my favourite mascara to carry around with me. Its also a bargain at just £5, you get so much for your money!

Supercat Extreme Black*
I don't usually like pen eyeliners, I think the line is never black enough and they dry out quickly however this eyeliner is a little different. The colour is an 'extreme black' as they say and it is very easy to apply. Personally I struggle to go a cat eye with this but I think its because I prefer a traditional liquid eyeliner however to simply line the top of the eye this is very easy to apply! If you aren't use to lining the top of your eye this eyeliner pen is the best one I have tried. Once again very affordable at £6

Thick & Fast Mascara Super Jet Black*
The first thing to not is that the brush is big, very big so if you don't like big brushes this isn't the mascara for you. I don't mind big brushes although I do feel I have very little control over this mascara. This mascara promises fuller lashes and I think you do get thicker lashes but there are mascara out there that give even greater volume. It adds just a little length too which I like as I don't like my lashes to be too long. It is very black and so works perfectly with the eyeliners and helps me get a very dark eye which I like. At first I found the mascara a little wet but after a few uses it became a slightly drier and must better consistency. This mascara lasts all day and doesn't flake, I have also had it for about three months and is still going strong.The packaging of the mascara is nice at first but product does begin to accumulate around the rim making it harder to close and the pink letters begin to rub of leaving you with just a black tube.
Would I repurchase? Possibly, its a quite a good mascara with a decent price tag.
