Hello All, I have not written a blog in nearly 3 years, but now as an Architectural Designer it is my duty to practice in a sustainable way. This all starts with learning and teaching. I am currently enrolled in a course at Florida Atlantic University called "Sustainable Cities." My main assignment for the semester is to create a website about a specific GREEN project that can help educate people about how a neighborhood in today's society should be.

The website is currently under development, but will be up and running in a month. As of now, I think I'm going to call it "Biophilic Bronx". I will create a post when it is ready. My plan is to be active on the website updating it when necessary, but it's main purpose is to showcase a project I have created as an example of how I think a sustainable neighborhood should be designed and what issues it must address. I also want to escalate this message by blogging about it, and creating/linking social media to it so I can let the internet do its magic!

Yesterday was the second biggest day of my life (after the birth of my daughter.) I proposed to the love of my life, Rachel Allen, on the London Eye as it was descending in front of the Houses of Parliament. I asked some guy to take a picture of us, and when he said he'll take another, I quickly went to my bag on the floor and came back to rachel on one knee holding open the box with the ring. (She said yes!) He told me that I had made him look bad in front of his girl friend, but there were some awes, and congratulations. It was funny really, because no one on the pod clapped or noticed what I had done. Strange, I was hoping for a grand applause, but it was special, and sly - so I'm happy that I made it a memorable day for the both of us.

P.S. Rachel knew something was up, because she said I was acting extra nice. I was offended as I think I'm always nice, but that's okay, I know she didn't know, but I was anxious, and had been planning it for months!

Sunny Old England

My family and I are visiting England for the first time together, and we are so excited as the 2012 Olympics are about to begin, and the atmosphere here is great! I know it's going to be a good trip as we are here for a month, and the flight was smooth, and to top it off the customs and immigration coming into Heathrow was the quickest I've ever experienced! We're going to be going to a couple of the games so I'll update you all later!

The Law of SIgnificance

I'm reading the book, The 17 Irrefutable laws of Teamwork, by John C. Maxwell, and in the first chapter he talks about the law of significance. Basically, it says that you can't do anything big alone. You need others to help you in order to achieve greatness. Doing something commendable by yourself doesn't compare or even compete with doing something of value to others.
So whether you are a kid who's 10 years old on a soccer team, a young adult in college, or a middle-aged businessman, you need to look at the people around you, and decide if you are taking full advantage of those people. Don't see this negatively, because it works the other way too. You need to hep them get what they want too, to be successful. SO link up, and make it happen!

Weekend Challenge

Hello everyone, I have come up with a new posting idea for every weekend. I plan to do one every Friday so that I have a consistent means of challenging myself to do something different, and get out of my comfort zone. I encourage you to come up with something similar. It will be like setting a goal that you want to accomplish; create a plan for it, and then stick to it, and achieve it. Give it a time frame too, because that usually tells the universe that you are serious about getting what you want.

Nevertheless, my goal for this weekend is to make as much money as I can (legally, ethically, and morally of course), to put away for while I'm away on vacation for a month (to take care of bills and savings etc), and to read a chapter of a new book I own, and to enjoy time with my family and friends.
I want to be satisfied with this by midnight on Sunday evening!

As you can see, I have set a very realistic goal. It is short term, and when I accomplish it, I will feel extremely good! Then, on Monday I can set a new goal...perhaps for the day, or lay out a couple for the week. Whatever you need to get done - just DO IT!

Complexity vs Simplicity

It's so funny, because when I was a kid I always tried to make things sound more complicated and sophisticated, whereas now, I want things to be broken down and understood. Just like John said about him being a communicator: he wants to simplify his message for people to understand. However, educators want to complicate something simple - maybe because they feel that you need to experience the pain they faced when learning it, I don't know haha. But if you want people to see where you're coming from, and learn more quickly from your mistakes, then complexity isn't the way to go. Don't get confused though - I still enjoy being a complex person, if you know what I mean.

Wimbledon

7 in a row for Roger Federer! He has tied the record for most championships on the famous grass courts. I do feel poorly for Andy Murray as he is Great Britains prodical son in the tennis world. He was the first british male to make it to the singles finals in 75 years. That is crazy! History was made on two occasions today, but next year it will be interesting to see who will be the number 1 and if Andy can be consistent and make it to the final again. He has a lot to prove, and he will be a grandslam winner very soon! Tennis is an amazing sport and produces some of the greatest athletes to walk the earth.

The Shard

Even though it took place two days ago, finally the tallest building in Europe was inaugurated in London! It is called "The Shard" and was designed by the famous Italian Architect, Renzo Piano.
An amazing laser display took place from the building, and shot beams of light across the city to celebrate its existence, as one of the most iconic skyscrapers of the millennia.

Italia!

Wow, who would have thought that Italy would defeat the mighty Germans strolling through the Euro 2012 without a loss? I didn't, especially after barely beating England in the quarter finals. But I'll tell you what, Spain have won two major tournaments in a row, and Italy might just have more will in them! Both teams play a very similar game, I'll be excited to see the outcome on Sunday.

Yesterday, Spain knocked out contenders Portugal in the semi finals of the Euro 2012 tournament. Today, Germany face Italy to see who will join Spain in their third major tournament final in a row (Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, and Euro 2012.) This defensive, yet dynamic offensive team is relentless, and always find a way to win. I think it's because they are the fittest team on the planet, with their quick speed, but amazing passing - they seem to maintain possession of the ball for most of every game they play.
Germany however, have a young and talented squad who haven't lost a match this tournament, and are looking for a hard earned win, as they have found themselves in this late position many times throughout history, but haven't won in a while.
What are your opinions? Who do you think will win today, and who do you think will win overall?

It's been a long time; shouldn't have left you...

You got to love blogging, it just gives people the chance to write whatever they want, and publish it personally on the internet via they're "personal" site.
I always wondered how effective it could be to do that on a daily basis and some how create a stream of income from it.
Anything that is easy however, cannot produce you a mass income. It requires hard work, effort, and skill. I am learning all kinds of new social media, and I write on them everyday, but I have neglected my blog. It's time that rather than just posting comments on my Facebook, and twitter etc, that I lead new people into checking out my interests on those sites through my blog!
Such a simple way to communicate. It's like having one bank account. If you put all your money in it, and some strange way it goes out of business, there's going to be a chance that you lose your money, because they are somehow not fully responsible for your money...you took the risk to put it in their hands. The better idea, would be to have multiple accounts that serve different purposes, so that you can manage your money, and attract money into them by showing the universe that you are financially responsible, and can handle more money - please.
What I am getting at, is that I am going to progressively restart this thing, and see where it takes me. I never wanted to be a professional writer, but it the sense of the profession has changed. It is an art that expresses true feeling, and is set in stone. You can take back something you said, but if it's on "paper" then you better stick to it. Therefore, what you write has to be your bond. People have to want to read what you want to say. Find your market; your niche, and stick to it. You can't be successful if you don't master your craft. My craft is architecture. I am still a student, but I have many hobbies, and my passion remains strong no matter what I do.

Hi there!

It has been 9 months since my last post, and I would like to apologize for that. I really have wanted to write more frequently, but college has required much of that from me, but time has certainly become the essence...to post that is.

Nevertheless, my blog is my homepage, so I haven't been ignoring it whatsoever :)

I just wanted to announce that I will be leaving south Florida, and moving up to Boston, MA to continue my studying of Architecture at the BAC (link provided). I visited the city and the school, and I was definitely impressed. I can't wait to move up there and get started. The best thing about the school is that it offers a congruent academic/professional practice curriculum style. What that means is you go to work at a firm (starting at entry level) during the day, and continue with classes at night. I'm choosing to pursue the first year Academic Only Program (AOP), because I have some pre-requisites to complete, plus I feel that it will enhance my education and better prepare me for practice the following year.

I hope any prosperous student or persons who reads this will be inspired somewhat to check out the BAC if interested in Architectural studies, or maybe even just furthering their education, and achieve the degree they always wanted.

Long time no speak

Hi there, it has been a year or so since I last posted my last blog, and I feel terrible for this, but you get busy and sometimes you feel like expressing yourself to "no-one" online gets the better of you, and then no present post is published.
However, I'm sitting in a caravan in Devon, SW England listening to Dizzie Rascal, and casually reading "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell."
Not to mention I have been drinking a variety of English beers and aimlessly shooting rifles on my uncles property.
I have visted many friends all over the southern part of the country, and I've had quite the time.
I'll be back in FL in 2 weeks to continue my summer break before I go to NJ working up in the mountains at my other uncles camp!
I'm going to try and get back into blog writing, as I do miss it, and I do feel as if it is a vital aspect of modern literature, which to me is interesting and fun reading.
Take it easy.

Architecture Pin-Up

Last week, a group of architecture students including myself, traveled to Gainesville witness a live pinning up of students work from all over the state. The purpose is for those who wish to transfer to the University of Florida, must present their best projects on a section of a wall, and persuade the University's Architecturual program that they are worthy of entry.
I noticed a wide variety of talent, and many different techniques of model making, as well as drawings. Many materials were used in models and included into drawings too.
The trip also offered a sense of what the real college life is like, and how the atmosphere really engages you into its own culture.

Stephanie Jude Kuleba

Today is the first year anniversary of the passing of my good friend Stephanie.
She was a wonderful person, who lived each day to the fullest, and put 110% into everything she did. My friends and I met up, and had a memorial, and candle ceremony for her, at our old high school, and it was a sad but special time. I thank those who made their presence and showed their respects. We will always have you in our hearts Steph. We love you! Keep watching us from above, as you'll be in our thoughts :)

Tough Times

College is going faster and the end of the semester will be upon me in no time, yet I am able to slow down amongst myself and friends. When times seem unfair, or the challenge is too great, people tend to give up, and lose hope. I recommend that you maintain your faith, and hold onto any confidence booster you may have. If you do not have one, then look to your influences or role models. How about looking at yourself. How do you want to get better? We all want to succeed, including myself, so let's just take a deep breath, and attack our duties and jobs, and achieve our goals!

Back to College

Today was my first day back after a nice Spring Break. I took my english midterm, and had to write 3 essays. It went well, and I feel good about it. I got my math final back, and got an 88. I wanted an A but what can you do...
Tomorrow I have my design class and I didn't finish building my model due to stores lacking materials for me to buy. However, I was told by my prof to visit Easel Art in Miami! It was a far drive but the owner hooked me up with a 20% discount, instead of the regular 10% students get. How good am I doing??? Well, I'm off to the gym now after a long day. Have a good night.

My blog is in the process of becoming a site for architectural students, off roading enthusiasts, photo fanatics, and sports intellects.
I will begin to write articles about first hand (personal) experiences with each category of interest, and supply useful links that I think are practical for my audience, that I use myself.
As of now the blog is more of a homepage which helps me get where I want to go on the web, and supplies an image of my personality.
Eventually it will become a popular and very helpful site for anyone who requires aid in any of my passions listed above.

Good morning! Yesterday I picked up my grandmother (Nana), form the airport, as she flew in from NJ. She will be with me for 3 weeks, and we are going to have some fun.
I'm still figuring out how to adjust my site to solely content that is for me, and how to aid others (aka a niche). I have one, I just don't know how to develop a site on it properly yet.
I'm an architecture student, love sports, and enjoy off roading in trucks. With these four main subjects, I need to create a site with plenty of content to not only entice me, but a wide range audience as well.

It is Wednesday, and halfway through the week, and I am very relaxed still as I am in my Spring break. However, during the work days, I am using to complete homework assignments, study for exams, and construct projects. Currently, I am building my third model for my design 1 Architecture class and it is coming along great. I am being patient, by making clean cuts, and allowing the glue to dry before I move onto another section of the structure. In between constructing and waiting, I am learning about week 2 of my internet payday ( http://my-internet-payday.com ) and taking notes, as well as watching the videos and tutorials.
I hope that today is a pleasant one for us all.
