First time doing military aircraft, with a help from my friend to choose which one should I pick for the first kit, the choice was this. Academy F-84E/G Thunderjet. Actually when still at Junior High School, I'm very fond of military vehicle (tank, aircraft, ship, etc). I played a lot of war games (from PTO, CnC, Naval Warfare, etc).

I choose this kit because:

as we can see in the pic,
1. Fully engraved panel lines & rivet details (rivet details is a must for military plane to look more realistic)
2. Highly detailed cockpit interior & landing gear bay

Inside the box:
4 runner for the plane, 1 clear runner for cockpit, 1 runner for stand base which I didn't use. and 1 sheet of water decal.

we can see the rivet detail and the panel lines here

The tools that I used for early snap fit:
Modeller nipper, Scissor, Masking tape, Tamiya cement extra thin, Tweezer, Modeller knife, sand paper, and also super glue (don't forget about ballast, I use ballast for fishing)

Cockpit fitting trial, seems ok for me. The difference between building a gunpla and airplane model kit is we should check it first if it's snap or not, also we must do the cockpit first, interior before assembly the fuselage. The main reason for this because we need to glue them. While in gunpla we can disassemble the kit to paint them part by part.

Start to painting the cockpit, I used Mr Color for this. I airbrushed the cockpit and the seat using Olive darb for seat, Cockpit color for the cockpit, and flat black for the panel. Hand painted the panel detail using Tamiya enamel Red and White.

Fitting test, don't forget to paint the inner part too (inner landing gear, after burner, etc), also don't forget to cement them and leave until they dry.

Dun't forget to mask them when painting the body, the hardest part of building aircraft is masking :(

also little drilling in the progress. Painted the wings using Mr Color Bright Silver and Sandy yellow

Mr Color Orange yellow for nose, Bright silver for the body and Olive darb for the upper body. Adding some cable for detailing at the landing gear.

And at last my first military kit is finished.. Will post more about the photo in the next post.

Supposedly I'm doing this because of curiosity. Wonder if this thing will look good if it become a background photos, but unfortunately I guess it's fun to build this kind of thing once, and hence I became addicted to it :(

Here it is.. my first 3D puzzles from CubicFun, World Famous Architect series: Tiananmen.

I pick Tiananmen because I like Forbidden City setup. Tiananmen is the first front gate of the Imperial city which the Forbidden city located, also called The Gate of Heavenly Peace. Chinese is very good at city setup, which this is one of the special case. Forbidden city consist of a lot of wonderful place, and this gate, is one of the famous gate. I already visited it once and it's truly wonderful :)

A little description about Tiananmen and the inside, a little bit history too.. Awesome indeed :)

Instruction pages, quite good with numbering, but we should careful which part we should make first, and really careful to push or attach the part (it's not like plamo :P)

Third kit finished
Again messed up, this time it's the Scratch-Build, try to do a major modification but too lazy to sand it..
actually improved at masking and a bit at airbrushing.

Name: MS-09FA Knightmare Dom

Type: mobile suit for commander use

Modeler: MaftyNavue

Weapons:
1 x Beam Gatling
1 x Tri-Gun Autocannon
2 x 6 "Egret" missile pods

Description:
After Zeon defeat at One Year War, lot of the remnants still loyal to Zeon put a fight with the Federation. A small group of Zeon remnants at Sahara Desert heavily modded Zeon's Dom Tropen for commanding use. Because of Dom Tropen characteristic at mid range combat they made a modified version of semi-long range combat for commander. Because commander need a good situation at the war front.

A beam gatling attached to luminous anti-beam coating shield for additional power and defense. Also a "Tri-Gun" autocannon added at the right arm for extra power. Added 2 tail stabilizer and 2 multipurpose missile pod and booster pack for maneuverability and agility.

Well, someday after work, I surfed at some blog and find an amazing artwork. That artwork really take a hook on me. Very simple design and color but yet really detailed.

So, I'm inspired to make something that similar with it, but this time it's a gundam-themed ones..

I remembered that I used to like to make wallpapers from gundam or something that I like.
so here it is, another wallpaper that I made. I picked Amuro Ray Insignia because he's the first of the gundam pilots.

but I'm messed up at the finishing (especially using airbrush and lining), probably because I was too hasty when doing this. Well still, that is no excuse for this horrible job >.< (actually satisfied with the modification job, but did not satisfied with the paint job)

Description:
To defend their country from either Earth Federation or ZAFT, Orb need more firepower despite it's small sized country and it's location is an island making it vulnerable to be attacked from many position. Orb already has it's massive and strong Navy but their strategic leader think it's still need support from mainland to minimize enemy threat.

MBF-02S WeissAstray is what come of from one of the Orb engineer. Basically it's a long range supportive mobile suit capable to strike at long range even at atmosphere, thanks to "Nidhoggr" High Pressure Particle beam rifle. because it can pierce through the atmosphere, "Nidhoggr" also can penetrate enemy beam coating shield with ease. This with an additional boosters and stabilizers make WeissAstray a perfect unit to defend Orb nationality from sea and space entry mission.

MS-09FA FullArmed Knightmare Dom WIP#4

Recently doing another project besides Astray (the astray actually finished, but didn't have time to properly take snapshot).

MS-09 Dom Troopen

What I have in mind is, I'm going to make this MS for a special unit at The Sleeves. Watched Unicorn OVA vol 4 make me want to do this project. Dom hasn't got it's upgrade yet (besides Gouf and Gyan, well actually Dom has Dreissen but I want to make this unit is a special unit).

Latest Workshop at Imoutou with some AGE exhibiton.

the event went out smoothly, thanks to Vandalier for the workshop, we got from basic (seamline removal, basic sanding, sprue removal) until a glimpse of shading (really-really a glimpse, you stingy! :D), hopefully this workshop will improve my basic and airbrushing for the next project ^_^

Well, obviously this is the new TV series of gundam.

Already watched ep1 and 2, personally I think it's still good despite the character design more like rockman and digimon-styled character.

What surprised me is, we can see full episode 1 and 2 at youtube with english subtitle (official from Bandai too). I think Bandai truly in verge of gaining more young "follower" and spamming more HG AGE kit with more valuable price (around 1200 Yen, compared with HGUC which around 1800 Yen +)

So what do you think about this new gundam series?

Next Update on Tauburn Astray.

26/07 - More Platting arrived from Research booster armor that updated on Astray Backpack.

This kind of booster is used for improved speed plus maintaining the mobile suit control while cruising or battling at high speed.

28/07 - More tail binders attached for maneuverability

and Strike Freedom-type Beam Rifle added for more extra power. Beam Rifle salvaged from Lacus-clyne faction prototype research department.

06/08 - Back view of the Tauburn Astray,

already tested. Progress looks good.

08/08 - Heavy advanced equipment for rifle power extension has arrived from the research department. Currently attached the equipment for the rifle. Also from the test result, more tail binders added for movement stabilization.

Currently Tauburn Astray commencing test run for today, a Junk Guild Engineer scheduled for testing this mobile suit.

This is supposedly my latest kit, but I decided to work on it first because it will become a review material for Surabaya Gathering this Saturday (30-07-2011).

OZ-13MS GUNDAM EPYON

ENDLESS WALTZ VER

Truly elegant yet deadly.
Actually I really wonder before.
We know that there are 2 different kinds of gundams from the W series. First will be from the TV series, Kunio Okawara version and the other is Katoki Hajime version aka Endless Waltz ver. (EW ver.). For Example:

We have Wing gundam and Wing Zero gundam from TV ver.
and common people say that from Endless Waltz OVA is Wing Zero Custom, which actually incorrect.
the OVA use Katoki design, hence the actual name of this gundam would be Wing Zero EW ver (which has a wing in it).
So there are actually 2 design of each gundam at W series,
- Wing TV ver -> Wing Zero TV ver // Wing ver Ka (Wing Zero EW ver) -> Wing Zero EW ver (Wing Zero Custom)
- Deathscythe TV ver -> Deathscythe Hell TV ver // Deathscythe EW ver -> Deathscythe Hell EW Ver

etc with the exception
- Shenlong TV ver -> Altron // Shenlong EW ver -> Nataku (but Wufei called all his gundam Nataku anyway)

If you want to know about the models, you can visit mahq for database, they have the TV and EW ver.
Tallgeese I and Tallgeese II would be for TV
and Tallgeese III would be for the OVA

Now the question is, Is there possible to have Epyon EW ver? Katoki never designed the other mecha besides the main mecha in the W series after all. But surely at that time I really want to see his design about Epyon since I'm a big fan of Katoki's design.

But now Bandai already fulfilled my wish..
Beyond is MG Eypon EW ver aka MG Epyon ver Ka which is trully a masterpiece.

Heat Rod retracable, quite sturdy but easy to manipulate because of the weight.

The main feature of this MG, retractable wings. Unlike the Kunio ver, Katoki ver's Epyon has a retractable wings which is very cool (only with one push). But do really careful when retracting the wings :p

Tauburn Astray WIP #1

The first project for this astray is of course snap-fitting.

And, done..

I still confuse what will I do for this astray. First thing first I decided to scrap the katana, then I decided to mod a little the twin beam sabers. Astray beam sabers are unique in term of design so I decided to make us of it.

Second, I think about modifying the shoulders, legs, and body, but until now I still haven't any blueprint design about it, well actually the shoulders right now are finished (will take another pic later), but for the body and legs it's still blank.

Lastly is the backpack system, currently testing how to use with 1mm pla plates and also epoxy putty and putty. Hopefully are running well.

Meanwhile, I decided to get my first nendo this month. Dunno what come into me, I saw this cute girl just standing in the display stand. And what happened later is, this girl is inside my house right now ^^;.

I choose Haruhi Disappearance ver because of two things. First I'm very attracted with her "unique" personality, and second the Disappearance ver has a long hair (I prefer long hair ^^; but you also get the shorter hair ver too inside the box) and rather exclusive style of uniform (well she is in the elite school this time)

Long hair and a rather cute expression eh?

Still don't want to unbox yet. Dunno why it seems very sacred for me >.< (maybe it's the first eh?)

Everything under it still be classified right now.

It should be for Prototype General-Purpose Mobile Suit, which can adapt at many situation needed.

The equipments, machines, also drones are completed for this prototype project

The research facility already found a new materials for making the Astray far powerful than the Z.A.F.T Gouf, this will make ORB power superiority will be recognized again.

Under Construction

after some thought, and saw some dedication from my fellow blogger (and their blogs off course, you all can see at my blogroll)

I decided to change the way I blog. I'm going to put a theme into my blog, personally I like a fantasy, science-fiction themed style. A little change, so probably I'm gonna give my post title, post page name, etc etc in that manner, and I'm adding more pages this time (still currently study how the page system work). Type: experimental high powered mobility multi-class mobile suit

2 x 60mm vulcan gun (fire-linked)

1 x "Ymir" Anti-ship Sword

1 x BOWA XBR-M82A beam rifle (optional for mid range operation)

1 x anti-beam coating "crusader" shield

A.E.Blash XBR-SH-83d beam saber x 2 (attached to shield)

Description:

Following the war between EFSF and Republic of Zeon, Anaheim begin to

intensified research for a fast mobile suit that can travel in such a

manner at long distance. The idea is basically needed because the

warzone consists of large area of space. Minimalizing time travel

between each of warzone is one of the key to achieve victory.

After GP-01Fb destroyed by the GP-02A, Anaheim electronics

begin to salvage the remaining body and also to collect the data.

From the data given at GP01Fb salvage. GP-01Fb basically created

for domination in speed, acceleration, maneuverability at space. But

not in long range cruising. So, Anaheim decided to pour it's idea into

a new GP-01. A truly nightmare at speed.

GP-01HPM, Gundam Dual Vernian "Ambrosius" is created based from the

idea, using a new FF-XIV-Dv Dual Vernian Core Fighter system, the

Core fighter is attached into the backpack. Due to highly complicated

way to use the booster full potential, additional operator is needed

to operate the core booster.

The main idea of GP-01HPM Ambrosius is to full charge

at incredibly high speed towards enemy and then dominate them in close

combat attack, while still maintaining the energy capacity for the next

charge.

An anti-beam coating "crusader" shield also given to

utilizing GP-01HPM speed for distracting enemy formation, also 2 beam

saber attached at the shield for additional attack power.

An anti-ship sword "Ymir" also given to the GP-01 for ambushing the enemy

warship.

Domination at Speed, Mobility, Agility, Attack Power.

All of these elements makes GP-01HPM trully a worst opponent at space.

But this idea is scrapped because of the highly cost to produce a

single unit for this kind of MS and this unit would be giving a clearly

advantage for the EFSF army, and also Anaheim decided to approve

another project, the GP-04G Gerbera.

WIP GP-01HPM Ambrosius #1

Well this is some progress for my latest work, the deadline is quite near. Actually it's already finished but minus painting. But I think I will add some details and make minor adjustment in the details, maybe shoulders.

But here is some photos of my WIP.

I give this kit some left over from MG Astray Red Frame, which is a dual knife from MG Astray Blue Frame mould, and give some ornaments at the left shoulder, but later on I decided to scrap it and put it to more useful than just ornaments.

I tried to scratch build for the first time using pla plates only and I think it's pretty hard to make the scratch build. I make the shoulders from pla plates only, later on I will try to use epoxy putty as some fellow blogger suggested me.

I decided to move on by making another scratch build for an anti-ship sword. I think this guy need some massive weaponry because he only has a limited weapon (beam rifle, vulcans, beam sabers, and dual knife). Basically the idea is to charge as fast as possible to the enemy headquarter (which usually a warship) and destroy it to disrupt the enemy, that's why I choose to add an anti-ship sword for him.

This time I surely give my thanks a lot to heathorn, he really help me. Check out his outstanding works at modeling gunpla, especially this.

For a first timer like me doing something like this really excites me, first time doing pla plates, first time modifying a gunpla, also first time using airbrush.

Lastly, this is maybe the color scheme that I will use for my GP-01HPM. Again critics and comments are really helpful for me. Tips and Tricks for handling pla plates also helpful for me. Thanks anyway.

Tutorial for Snapfitter #1 ~ Removing spruce marks using markers

Trying to share more info for snapfitters, I got this infos from ngeekhiong, but I think It isn't wrong to share it again eh? Before that, this is my first loot this year..

yup, a MG Deathscythe hell EW ver..

usually for snapfitter, spruce mark from cutting the plastic is really annoying, especially it's black, since the marks usually are white. This little trick will help to reduce the mark.

First, see that annoying white mark??

Use this miraculous kit..

I'm using sakura 0.05 marker, a gundam marker is fine too..

well be sure to give the proper color.

Fill the white mark with the marker..

Erase it with rubber eraser.. Ta-daaa...

It's gone...

well hopefully this will give some people help when snapfitting a gunpla..

okay back to snapfitting this kit again..

Modifying HGUC GP-01Fb + Happy Chinese New Year

First time using pla plates, thanks for heathorn, redmage, and superPJ for helping me to know how to use pla plates and what tools should I need.
I'm modifying my old HGUC 1/144 GP01Fb, because I like this kit, and it's my 1/144 kit, old and dusty.



First Prototype, modding the Vernier and the backpack

I  started to modify the GP-01Fb for my fellow blog challenge (redmage), first of all, GP-01Fb core fighter seems forgotten by lots of people, so I started to modify the GP-01 using the core fighter. My inspiration is 00 raiser. So the core fighter will be attached to the backpack. The verniers are acted like the 0 raiser binders.

Next step is the painting, and this time I should give thanks to chubbybots for his tutorial for me.. XD

This little modification cost me approx around 250k IDR (25 US$), I bought 0.5mm pla plates, tamiya cement, 4 tamiya enamel paint 10ml (red, black, white, blue), yellow gundam marker, 3 brushes, tamiya enamel thinner 10 ml, roundstick pla plates (2mm), a tape, a cutter, ruler, mechanical pencil and eraser.

Manga Nowadays

Recently I'm realized that Manga really important for us, not only for recreational purpose but also for our life. It does really teach us a lot, not a simple matter like everyone thought about.

For example: I'm currently following Hajime no Ippo.

this is a review about what is Hajime no Ippo about:

Ippo Makunochi was a very shy high school student who never had the time to make friends because he was always busy helping his mother run their family fishing charter business. Because he kept to himself, a group of bullies led by Umezawa got into the habit of picking on him. On one particular day these bullies decided to give him a rather serious beating, but a middle-weight professional boxer who was passing by stopped the bullies and took the injured Ippo to the Kamogawa Gym, owned by retired boxer Genji Kamogawa, to treat his wounds. After Ippo awoke to the sounds of boxers training, the boxer who saved him, Mamoru Takamura, tried to cheer Ippo up by letting him vent his frustrations on a sandbag. It was then that they had their first glimpse into Ippo's talent for boxing. After that incident, Ippo started his regular training and began his path in Japan's professional boxing, beginning with two spars against the talented Ichiro Miyata who is the same age as Ippo.

The story focuses heavily on character development, even during the matches something is learned about the fighters. Ippo and his friendly rivalry with Miyata is the main draw in the early part of the series. That later changes to Ippo's path towards the Japanese Featherweight Championship and eventually the world championship. Along the way we are given glimpses into the other side character's pasts, motivations, relationships to others and current boxing trials. A colorful cast of support characters and opponents as well as side stories concerning their path in the boxing world rounds out the series.

Hajime no Ippo is about a bullied child who eventually up become Japanese champion at boxing, this manga really inspiring for any reader, especially boxer. What actually we can grasp from this manga are:

Life: Need focus, work hard, give it all, work smart, never give up attitude to be success in everything

Ippo: See his hard work and resilient toward achieving his goal to defeat his enemies. When He got a fight this is his attitude.

Life: Do work wholeheartly and never underestimate our job even it's simple.

Ippo: When he fought with his Kouhai, Yamada, we can learn this. The coach advise also said this clearly.

Life: Setting a really high goal, so we can work towards it.

Ippo: When he set Eiji Date for his goal, we can learn this, he said it clearly that we need to set a really high goal for us to growth.

Life: Failure is a the key to success, and we should make that failure into good experience for success, not drown into our failure..

Ippo: His first defeat with Date thought us this, and he teach it to Yamada.

And still many more..

The most important things Ippo thought us is about change,
we can change as long as we want it. It's not a matter of can we change or not, but more like a do we really want that change? If we do really that change then nothing is impossible, Ippo already prove it.

Besides that, this manga really have a lot of motivation into it, but I'm sure that child can't grasp this easily, so I thought at that time, manga is really for a growing teenager and adult. Or for children, they need parents advisory to learn it.

So what your opinion about this guys?

For me, I decided to set a higher goal for next year goal, and work more wholeheartly, and never underestimate a simple task..
