AirPlay is an Apple feature that many iOS users don't know a lot about. For starters, it requires an Apple TV set-top-box, a gadget that isn't nearly as popular as other Apple products. Additionally, the best parts of AirPlay only showed up late last year with the release of iOS 5. It's relatively new territory, and thus often confuses people. AirPlay has its origins in an old Apple feature called AirTunes. In the days of AirTunes (2004-2010), the only thing that you could stream was music from a computer running iTunes. The Nokia Lumia 800 is the best Microsoft Windows 7.5 smartphone I have used, and is competitively priced for what it offers. In my opinion, the Windows Phone OS is quickly becoming a competitor to Android and iOS, although still not quite on the same level.

The Lumia 710 is not a "raw performance" monster. It actually scores modestly in Javascripts benchmarks and on Microsoft's own IE9 "Fish Tank" web graphics performance test. The numbers speak for themselves when you compare it to other phones that are known for their "muscles".

However, the synthetic benchmarks don't tell the whole story: the Lumia 710 and its Windows Phone 7.5 operating system bring one of the smoothest user experience available in handsets. The user interface scrolling is always impeccable, and background tasks are managed in a way that doesn't slow things down with my particular usage pattern. For virtually every productivity tasks, the response-time is very good.

The iPad 3 release date is now widely rumored to be on Mar. 7, 2012; or to be more precise, that's the day of the iPad 3 announcement at a special event in San Francisco to launch the new iPad. The iPad 3 release date could be as soon as a week after that, according to AllThingsD who cites previous iPad announcement / release cycles. Other big ticket news items that are of-the-moment are 4G LTE capabilities, Retina Display, an A6 processor with quad-core capabilities, rumors of a smaller iPad that we heard so much about earlier this year ... the iPad Mini or so-called iPad 4. More about this below, along with iPad 3 features and specs. First, the reason why Apple CEO Tim Cook thinks the iPad is what it is based on today's comments at a Goldman Sachs Technology & Internet conference:

"The reason the iPad's ramp has been so large in my view is that the iPad has stood on the shoulders of everything that came before it — the iTunes store, the iPhone. That day went to the KL lot 10 new refurbished shopping mall (a japanese name shopping mall), I saw TIME setting up a booth at the IT center. And they are promoting their new launched fibre optic package, but this time, to home user instead of focus to commercial users.

This is a newly launched package, but since then they have received quite a lot of good feedback. The speed is blazing high and line is stable. Personally I assure they are faster in speed and more worth in money compare to unifi. The promoter already said TIME starting switch focus to end user market as well...but i don't take serious concern as their pricing seems higher than TM unifi.

YES gets good review from it’s subscribers for their blazing fast speed of its broadband service.

This is a good start up as to overcome bad impression of 4G branding telco in Malaysia, as many people knows that during P1 4G launched last time (using 4G as marketing tactic) , but in actual P1 have very weak network stability, it is constantly cannot be connected /down in my apartment, yet their customer service refused to cancel the contract. since then i have bad impression of 4G 'brand'.

The months of March and October have traditionally been used by Apple to release its products. The iPad 2 was released in March last year and the iPad 3 is expected to release in March too. The iPhone 4S made its debut in October last year and this year we will see the launch of the iPhone 5 and the iPad 4(if we are to believe this rumor).

Digitimes once again said that the iPad 3 will have a high resolution display and will come with longer battery life (like we don’t know!). According to the report, the iPad 3 is almost an interim release that will be released in March to soothe some nerves and claim the low end tablet market that is being ruled by Amazon’s Kindle fire at the moment. Digitimes believes that the iPad 2 will see a drastic reduction in price and Apple will be able to swipe the low end of the tablet market too.

This latest iPad 3 rumor comes from China’s Economic Daily News, and suggests that the tablet could be released on February 24 to commemorate Steve Jobs, since this date is also his birthday. Suppliers are reportedly doing the best they can to ramp up production in an effort to have the tablet fully ready and in the quantities needed by Apple.

Inside sources are claiming that Apple is looking to meet demand with an initial supply of 4 million units, which is up from roughly 3.5M last year for the iPad 2. Will 4 million be enough, considering the heavy backorders for the iPad 2 on its release however?

Apple introduced the original iPad on January 27, the iPad 2 on March 3, and could be releasing the highly hyped iPad 3 on February 24, 2012 which wouldn’t be all that much of a long shot (similar time-frame); especially with the date having such significance to the passing of the Apple Founder himself.

According to new speculation and insiders, Apple will keep with its iPhone 4S scheduling and release the iPhone 5 this fall. But will it really time the launch so close to a potential iTV debut?

The iPhone 4S isn’t quite as shiny and new as it was a mere month ago, and in the wake of its now-normalcy come new iPhone 5 rumors. Up until now we’ve been able to gather that the next-gen iPhone will sport a new design, larger display, and that it might be a 4G capable.

Now BGR says it has inside information that the iPhone 5 will be launched in the fall of 2012, and that the new phone will not only have a different look but a different feel. According to the site’s sources, the next iPhone will have “rubber or plastic” material built into its case as a new take on the device’s bezel. This will accompany a new aluminum back plate and new antenna system.

Until this point, we’ve heard that the iPhone 5 would be released earlier than the iPhone 4S was, perhaps sticking to Apple’s original summer launch schedule. But if BGR is right, that means Apple might have an incredibly busy third quarter. We heard yesterday that the Apple iTV is supposed to debut in the second or third quarter of 2012, which makes us a bit dubious about this roadmap. The iTV and iPhone 5 launches will be huge, chaos-creating events that the media and consumers will revolve around for weeks. Lump these closely and Apple risks cannibalizing some of that attention.

Of course there will be some consumers that have to choose between an iTV and iPhone 5 – although we’d predict favor would heavily fall to the handset. We don’t expect these two products to launch side-by-side or share the spotlight, and maybe that means we’ll see the iPhone 5 a little earlier than predicted.

Design and Hardware

While Samsung may still be facing difficulties actually shipping its Android tablets thanks to interference from Apple, the company is churning out some impressive looking hardware. The latest addition to Samsung's Android tablet directly replaces last year's lacklustre Samsung Galaxy Tab and sits alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as its smaller sibling.

Samsung claims the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the slimmest and lightest Android tablet going and with official figures of 7.89mm thick and 335g in weight (nearly half an iPad 2), we have little reason to disbelieve the company. What's more it really shows when handling the device - it is just effortless to pickup and hold one handed.

The design is also stunning. We really are bowled over by it. The fundamentals are all very familiar, with an all black front - bar the small Samsung logo - and brushed metal back, but combined with the slimness, and with everything being in the right proportion, it just works so well. The iPad 2 probably still has the crown for outright class thanks to the solid feel of its metal build but it's a close run thing.

Packed into this slim chassis are a decent if not comprehensive selection of connections. A headphone jack sits on the top edge while a microSD slot is on the left side. However, there's no HDMI and rather than a normal microUSB Samsung has used the same proprietary port as on the Tab 10.1. The former is a much more understandable decision given the tablet's size but the latter is agrrevating as it means you always need that cable and that cable only to charge this device.

U Mobile is a special breed among 3G broadband providers. It has an unlimited package.

Rest assured there’s no free lunch in the world, it actually comes with 5GB usage FUP limit, for RM68 per month, fair enough.

Paying RM350 upfront (RM250 for 42mbps modem, RM100 advanced payment), I’m happy to find out that U Mobile has a terrific download speed. Okay, I mean comparing to other 3G broadbands in Malaysia.

5Mbps is a norm, sometimes creeping up to 10Mbps when downloading from file sharing site like megaupload.

From research, it seems that u-mobile is using DC-hsdpa+ technology, which boost up their speed theoretical up to 42mbps. The screen capture is taken in PJ area.

The maximum speed i have been experienced before is 12mbps, minimum is about 1mbps. Normal speed is about 5mbps.

I’ve been using it for 1 month and very happy with the performance and stability, never drop a connection so far.

Umobile has a rebate scheme for modem, RM20 rebates for first 5 months, so you only pay RM48 per month. What a deal!!! For the same price, you only get 1.5GB from Maxis.
