Now that we have "I'm a Thriftaholic" we thought we'd share weekly, our thrifted treasure! Thrifted treasure could be an item(s) you have thrifted: thrifted clothing you've worn in outfit posts, thrifted home decor, really any thing you thrifted and want to show off is welcome!

Remember this really is a support group in reverse, we don't want to kick our thrifting habits, we want to embrace them and show them off. And most importantly we want to have fun in the process!

House Hunt Stress

Top/Thrifted, Sweater/Thrifted, Jeggings/Kohls, Socks/Kohls, Boots/Old Navy, Beret/f21, Necklace/f21, Glasses/f21

Nate and I have been house hunting for what seems like an eternity, and can I just say it has been next to miserable! What is it about spending buckets full of money that results in death-con five between a couple? When I could no longer count the number of fights on my fingers and toes I stopped counting. All of them are really really stupid too, come to think of it we always fight about stupid stuff that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Through all of these disagreements we have learned even more about each other, like we are now on the same page of what constitutes a house as being ghetto...Very important if you ask me.

We think we are getting close though. If not I think the stress might make use explode! I hands down wouldn't want to go through this with anyone else, I married a gem. Sure do love that guy, and the way he puts up with my HM (high maintenance) tendencies, also if you could do me a solid and not mention that I admitted I am a little on the HM side to him, I'd appreciate it ;). Loves

Lately On Instagram

I decided to take the photo a day challenge that is floating around there out in the blogosphere at the beginning of the month, and it has been a lot of fun! I have been posting my pictures on Instagram. You know the weird thing is about instagram is that I didn't want to look at it too much, or post as many pictures because I knew that I would become instantly addicted (I mean that is the same thing that happened with pinterest). I just know myself all to well, because I'm a full blown addict...Like it's staying up till 2 AM browsing pictures bad. In spirit of my new found addiction I thought I would share some pictures I have taken for the photo a day challenge:

I am beyond obsessed with my new Canon DSLR camera that I got for Christmas from my loving husband (kudos). These are the first pictures that I have taken with it, and with my new remote...Which was/is a learning process, hence the hot picture above ;). I feel like I am a sponge right now soaking up anything and everything that has to do with taking and editing pictures. I would love to get some pointers from you guys!

Any tips with taking pictures with a camera remote?

Any tips for shooting pictures manually?

Any tips for editing pictures in photoshop?

What do you prefer, pictures that are more simply edited or gussied up?

Ok so I cheated a little on the EBEW challenge by adding the brown boots, but really a girl can only wear so much black and white....Convinced?

I have to share a little conversation that Nate and I had the other night:

Him: Can we get like moistened wipes to wipe our future baby's butt?

Me: Wait what?

Him: You know like those Cottenelle wet wipes? I don't want to wipe their butt with TP, stuff will get everywhere.

Me: It's never been more obvious then right now that you have never changed a baby's diaper. You don't use TP to wipe a babies butt silly!

Him: You don't?

Me: No they make baby wipes!! They take care of all your wiping needs!

Him: Oh....

All I can say is man I'm in for a treat!

Well hello there! Long time no talk right? I would be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy my time off, but man...did I miss you guys! As we speak right now I am attending my first day of the new school semester...not excited/excited ;).

I was a little vague on my last post, where I mentioned my new years resolution. Which in case you forgot is:

Something that has come to my attention, by my dear husband might I add is that I don't take time to celebrate the journey. I am constantly working towards a goal of sorts. I have the mentality that once I accomplish this, I will feel like this...whatever this is who knows. When in reality once I accomplish said goals I don't receive the feeling of I guess self worth I am looking for. I focus too much on the end result, and don't take time to find joy in the journey or path that I am on. I think/know I am missing out on a lot in life. I need to stop and smell the roses every once and awhile, and not stress out on the small imperfections. I learned so much about myself last year. I learned how strong I am, and what I can accomplish if I simply put my mind and heart into it. 2011 was a great year, I grew so much as a person. I can't wait to see what 2012 holds for me!

It's a simple resolution, just right for me. I mean lets get real. A "I'm going to eat healthy" type of resolution will never work for me. I am openly addicted to soda and potato chips. I've tried to give them up...I just can't...They have too big of a hold over me!

Have you guys made any resolutions? I know we are like several days late but let's just forget about that and share what you are working on! Love you guys, and thanks for being so understanding while I was taking a little break.

Guys I'm not even going to lie...I've been a horrible blogger lately. The worst part is that I've kind of, sort of, really enjoyed being disconnected from the blogosphere. In my defense I haven't been a complete bum, I have redecorated the place. What do you think? It is still a little work in progress, I am however quite happy with how it turned out. Web/graphic design is really, really tough!

How was everyone's Christmas? I sure hope that it was wonderful! Ours was great, we spent time with family, friends, and laughed a lot...a LOT. Oh did I mention Nate got me a new CAMERA!! Complete with remote! I couldn't have been more surprised. Great guy that husband of mine is, sure do love him.

Can you believe that it's New Year's Eve? I think that I am more shocked that I have to go back to school in a week...bummm...bummmm....bum! Well with New Year's upon us, its time for new year resolutions. Instead of picking my standard, "lose weight and eat right," I went with something a little more practical for myself. That is, finding joy in the journey (the life journey that is). I will have to divulge more in a future post. I did however create a little FREE printable for you, so you can see my basic of basic illustrator skills!

I'm alive!! Finals did a number on me friends. I have been decompressing with baking goodies, retail therapy, and a Star Wars marathon (you read right a Star Wars marathon, Nate and I have watched 4/6). With all the finals stress and decompressing I have yet to write Santa a letter this year, I'm of course on the nice list.....Here is my WISH list...emphasis on the wish...

3. Kate Spade iPhone Cover (really who's list wasn't this on?)
4. Faux Fur Vest
5. Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick

Some of these "wishes" might have to weight till tax return time...Really our CPA is like a second Santa! What are some of your wishes for Christmas?

I tried to find a picture to go with this post but ummm I got nothin'. Well so here we are...I am sick of my blog design again...Right on time, it's been three months right? I am still liking the layout, but lets get real, things are getting real boring around here. We need some color right? Some pizazz? Right? This is where you guys chime it (please??). I sure would appreciate it! What's cool with blog headers? Colors? What's the 411? What's the scuttlebug? How do you guys design your blogs?Any info? Since I am the furthest thing away from a graphic designer, I have no idea how to put together a cute catchy header. So speak up! That means you ;). Romance...And The No Cuddling Policy

I learned the other day at school that Nate and I aren't very romantic. Apparently not cuddling with each other before bed, and having separate blankets doesn't scream romance...Who knew? When it comes to sharing a bed, I don't want to be touched, I want my own blanket to curl up in, and all heck will break loose if you cross my imaginary dividing line...Ok that's a slight exaggeration...Slight. The nice thing is, is that Nate feels the same way. Sleeping time is for sleeping...Or maybe deep down I would love some cuddle time? Prob not ;). What do you guys think, do you cuddle before bed? Is our marriage doomed because of the no cuddle policy?

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope you all have a splendid Thanksgiving holiday, and that you are surrounded by those you love and care for. Also that we can all be reminded of how blessed we are, I know for me I could list hundreds of things I am so grateful for. At the top of my list will always be my family and faith, what a great thing both of them are, and that I have the chance to spend eternity with my best friends is amazing. I am also grateful for you guys (cheese ball I know), but serious I have met so many wonderful people, and made fantastic friends. Thanks for all your love, it just makes my day!
Last and not least good luck to you crazies going out on Black Friday! Confession, I went out last year with my sister and mom and ended up throwing a couple of shirts at a sales associate while checking out at Kohls...Not my finest moment hence why I will not be going out in the madness that is Black Friday! My thoughts will be with you and hope you score that 32" flat screen television for $100 ;)! May the shopping force be with you! LOVESS

Guys, I just need to come out and say it...We volunteered to do the turkey this year for Thanksgiving. I know...Where the crap have I been? Have I been walking around naked...I mean that's what I would think if a fashion blogger wasn't blogging. Well a lot has been going on...Before you get ahead of yourself NO I am not pregnant although I am probably just as exhausted as a pregnant lady (spoken from a non pregnant lady which holds no merit). I just wanted to let you guys know what life has been like for me and just what I have been up to:

Lately school has been my life, like just picture me with a Siamese twin that isn't a human rather a huge 8 story building strapped to my back and sucking the life out of me. Right now I have school Monday-Wednesday, and the projects have been flowing so I am at school up to 10 hours a day on those days.
I swear I am still wearing cute outfits, but ever since school has been a huge life sucking leech I don't get home until the sun has gone down, therefor can't take pics. I could do self pics but we all know what we think about those!
I have been super frustrated with my camera lately...The point and shoot just hasn't been cuttin it. I need a dslr with a remote like the deserts need the rain friends. I mean that would really solve all of my problems right...? A letter to Santa is already in the works.
Lastly all in all I am super happy right now, I have a lot to be happy (cue the thankful...tis the season!) about even though things are crazy! The end of the semester is right around the corner, and a feeling of success and self gratification is within my reach...I just have to battle 2 huge color boards, 1 drafting final project (drafting...EWW! It's a four letter word in my book!), 3 tests, and 2 papers to get there!

Just know that even though I am not around as much as l would like to at this crazy time, I am always thinking about ya and this silly little blog. If that doesn't cut it just picture me in a fab outfit with a beehive and that should get ya through! Love you!

Thriftaholics Weekly #24

Remember this really is a support group in reverse, we don't want to kick our thrifting habits, we want to embrace them and show them off. And most importantly we want to have fun in the process!

So if you have a thrifted find that you are dying to share, this is the place. Every Tuesday we will have the: "Thriftaholics Weekly Link up."Where you will be able to link up anything you have thrifted whether that be something in your outfit post, a piece of furniture, anything your little thrifted heart desires. There are no limits on what can be linked up, it just simply needs to be anything you've thrifted and fell in love with. Bottom line: If you thrifted, we want to see it. Simple enough right?!

Thanks to all those who linked up last week, it was a blast seeing all of your thrifted finds! I had to narrow it down to my pick of the week (which was super hard you guys are awesome)!

I can't believe that I am alive to see this magical day! I am going to make the best wish ever today. Nate and I have planned a little 11/11/11 party...just for the two of us...we're cool/married. It involves Cafe Rio (as any good celebration should), two sweeties, some TV, some laughter, love, and for sure some wonderful life altering wishes. I hope that you are doing the same. Love you guys, and thanks for understanding my absence lately!

Ok first thing is first, if you guys haven't heard of the blog: Ask The Duplex you are really missing out! Monica and Whitney are the cutest sweetest girls! Also they are hilarious! I mean check out Monica's grandma costume for Halloween! Love it girl! She got her dress at the Goodwill for 50% off (swear I would totally wear this in my everyday life)!
