Woohh...That's the first thing that came out of my mind during my first day inside the G Hotel kitchen as an Intern. The Kitchen Brigade is kinda small because of lacking some cooks/chefs... Having my own station is kinda cool for me. I learned some new techniques and it make my skill more efficient. When it comes to knife skills... I do much faster cuts/slice now. People from the kitchen? well.... it's not like from the previous jobs that I've been. Communication is kinda lacking, plasticity on some part.... they keep on bumping to each other and back stabbing... Integrity is not there... I'm not sure if they are reading the employee's handbook. Respect to others where never been there... being friends to others is good but somehow they need to show professionalism when it comes to asking some favors. hmmmm.... or it's just me who has a problem? because I've been to an environment with people knows how to communicate well. Working inside the kitchen is totally different but proper communication is one of the best or effective way how to keep things running smooth.

For the past few weeks I've been waiting for this chance to work on a hotel kitchen and learn from the best chefs.... G Hotel by Waterfront gave me that shoot by undergoing internship. Can't wait to land my foot on the kitchen floor and meet new people who share the same passion.

Christmas (pasko) is near and after it New Year, time is too fast for us now. Just last week it was my Birthday and I would like to say thank you to those special people who remember me and who gave a super like gift. Now it's my Son Kelvin Curt will have his Birthday this coming Dec. 14, Kyle and I alreay made a plan to make pasta for Kelvin. I'll post the picture of Kyle's pasta which is Puttanesca after Kelvin's Birthday.

Foods from Cebu

Ang mga pagkain sa Cebu na dapat matikman pagpupunta kayo ay ang puto but it is different from northern Luzon kasi we call it suman na you can dip it sa sugar and their puto ay naka balot sa dahon ng saging (banana leaf). One of the barangays has a line of soimai stores (Brgy Labangon) also near and for the Danggit is at the Tabo-an. Mga inihaw sa Larsian near sa Regency Hotel and Robinson Cybergate which you can also find Accenture (hehehe). CNT Lechon sa likod ng SM cebu at EKITS na sa labas eh maliit lang na store but when you go na sa loon eh may kainan pla na nagluluto ng mga lokal foods like ginataang kilawin na puso ng saging and puchero. Shamrock pastry store na you can find the best Otap in Cebu. Chorizo din dapat matikman nyo kasi ako hindi ko natry eh, hehehe. I know kulang pa food list ko dito but you can always ask someone who've been to Cebu or a cebuano's.

The Mayor

Here I am na sa MCIAA waiting sa last trip ng cebu pacific. Since may free wifi connection eh napag isipan ko na dito ko na gawing this article for one of the Great Mayor na nakilala ko last Friday and he is the City Mayor of Cebu City, Mayor Atty. Michael Rama. Ganito kasi yung story... May isang Madre (nun) at that time na she couldn't move or have some injuries sa legs and hindi na siya makatayo but there was this lady who needs to seat besides her, pro hindi na maka tayo si sister who needs to attend the convention sa Cebu. Some of the F.A from this airbus eh hindi makaisip ng paraan how this other passanger can pass our sister, 10 or 15 mins na lumipas eh wala pa din... Then this one person tumayo from the front then ask if he can do some help with a smile, he've came up with the idea to just trade seats with the lady so she can take the seat na since medyo matagal na siya naka stand and si sister eh really complaining sa injuries nya. Since he is tall eh humakbang na lang siya.

Then after that he kept on asking the nun if she's okay because of the injuries. After the 20 mins while nasa fligth kami the guy seating beside me name Phil Cruz who's working with B. Braun Medical Supplies as a Executive Director talked to our Good Mayor then after that we've talked about foods and Cebu City... So not sure if the mayor heard it but he turn his head aroundand smile then I've asked Phil about the person infront of me and he said "he's the mayor of Cebu City," sabi ko sa sarili ko wow... Kasi kakaiba yung ginawa niya kasi yung iba na may position sa Government eh malamang hindi magaaksaya ng oras not like him and napaka simpleng tao nya. Then some of my friends from Cebu knows him as the "maka masa and some love how he communicate sa taga city." He's a good role model sa iba, means may pagasa pa ang Pinas if we have more like our good mayor from Cebu.

We know na ang mga pinoy ay likas na mababait and matutulungin pero only few still practice it without pay... Hahaha...

Outreach

Our class went out to have our outreach program somewhere in Sucat, Paranque. Ako iyong na assigned tonbe the host and sobrang nag-enjoy ako. Saya makipag laro sa mga bata and you never feel so pagod while with them. After ng program eh we went to one of the bars tht we can take our dinner then some of us went home. We stayed at Mr. & Mrs. Robles place to have a chat together with Jm and Nicole. We've talked about the next plan for our social events and siyempre konting tyismis on the side, hahaha...

So kanina nagluto kami and almost hindi namin natapos buti na lang at magagalibg mga kasama ko. Lahat naman may first time as per the team. On platting need pa ng konting kaartehan? Sigh, hindi talaga biro ang pagiging chef yet masaya matutonng mga panibagong dish. Malayo pa tatakbuhin ko just to come a chef. Dream ko maging Pastry Chef in the near future.

Culinary Tour

Here we are now heading back to Manila and grabe nakakapagod and yet happy kasi naging okay naman ang culinary tour. So nagmeet kami around 4:30am sa school (SKD) then 6:00am we where at EDSA. So first stop namin sa Ugu Bigyan Pottery Garden Lusacan, Tiaong Quezon. Herr nag demo sila ng pagluto ng Kulawo and Paco Salad which never ko natikman. During our lunch sa Villa Leandro lahat medyo nakakapag kwentuhan na and dyan n din un konting asaran na walang pikon. Nung nabanggit ng guide na punta kami sa pagawaan ng Lambanog eh halos lahat natuwa kasi they want to try it. At the Capistrano Distillery sa Brgy. Wakas Tayabas Quezon eh by batch yung pagpasok kasi maliit lang yung place pero ang galing kasi sila lang mismo yung binigyan ng permit to put the name of Lambanog sa product. Then we head out sa isang public market which hindi na ko bumaba ng bus kasi inatake ako ng migraine. So after noon eh sa Kamay ni Hesus then sa resort na. Some few games and entertainments from a local comedian. Lights out at around 11:00pm. Morning breakfast then stay lang sa room ng classmate namin. Call time was 11:00am, cooking demo of Chicken binakol. Sigh, we almost had some fun and only thing that kept us from having it was the time... Kulang ung 2 days to know the culture of Quezon Province. But on my next destination will be at Cebu.

Last 2010 pumunta kami sa isang place sa Quezon province to check out one of traditions ng mga locals natin. Ngayon naman ay is all about the culinary tour and to try ang mga foods na can only be found sa Quezon province. Hindi pa ko sure san sa Quezon kami pupunta but I'll make sure to post some of the picturea here, so better wait na lang tyong lahat.

Madami nang dumaan na bagyo sa Pilipinas pero hinda pa din naitinag ang culture natin sa pagtutulungan. Malubhang naapektuhan ang Province ng Pampanga at Bulacan dahil sa pagbaha sa kanilang lugar. Dagupan also been hit by the storm and been flooded, madaming nasirang business and residenial houses. Lahat natuto na after ng Ondoy na madaming sinalanta sa pagbuhos ng ulan at buhay na kinuha. Ngayong 2011 ilang bagyo ang dumaan na malalakas katulad ni Pepeng na binayo ang Northern Luzon at may international name na Parma na mas malakas pa daw kay Ondoy. Isa din ang Baguio sa tinamaan at nagdulot ng Landslide sa ilang parts ng nasabing lunsod.

Siguro naman ngayon maiisip din natin na hindi lang sa pag liligtas ng buhay at napundar ang isipin... Sana pati ung kalikasan ay dapat din natin tuunan ng pansin, di ba?

Kahapon dumating si Ken sa bahay para makasama sa Birthday ng cousin nila and nephew ko na si Cody. Na-miss ko si Ken and Kenneth, pero nung time na sibalubong ko siya d nya ko nakilala and ayaw niya magpabuhat (kalungkot). Since this will be a start of a new career in life most probably a new side of my blog will also follow through. So I decided to start blogging in tagalog, yeah...

So ito ang umpisa ng bago kong kabanata sa buhay ang maging isang chef. As you can see, nag-uumpisa na kami sa kusina (kitchen) and lahat kami ay sobrang nagging excited sa pag hawak ng knife (kutsilyo) and kahit ung iba eh nasugatan tuloy parin, sige lang ng sige. Tawanan lang pro sa real kitchen mukhang d na mangyayari un kasi lahat dapat mag- concentrate kasi ang food prep ay hindi lang basta basta. So afte another week dun na kami patayan kasi it's not gonna be si easy for us.

No recipe to follow, just anything goes. Just need to adjust the flavor of it and it's almost perfect. The chicken alone is so soft and tender. Carrot and the potatoes are exellent plus the bell pepper. Marinated the chicken with some love.... Hahaha
What else can you say it's my work so better love it or else... Grrrr

New path in life

After working in a bpo setup company for less than 5 years, I've come to the point asking myself is this what I really want? Yes, the pay is good but on a long run you'll see yourself at the edge of growing old without the challenge of doing much better but killing the inner you. The passion and creativity is slowly melting away, so I decided to go back to school and take culinary of arts to be one of the best chefs someday.
As a chef you wil be challenge everytime you do a different dish and the creativity never ends. Innovating one recipe is trully another way on how it will represent you. This is a lifetime learning with passion.

Ups and downs of a relationship sometimes can give you a traumatic experience... I've learned from it, the simple misunderstanding that will lead to an argument and it is not good if your in a relationship. It annoys us yeah I know, and we'll have no time to analyze the reasoning of the other person. It sucks that they've intended not to listen, right? They just want you to break you down and tell you that it's not them but it's you... hahahaha... funny... Come on, let's learn from our mistakes... don't be a fool and don't let go, try to see the special things inside of your companion. Let's learn how to say sorry, we all know that we Pinoys are very polite... Try to apologize if it's our fault, right? try to accept things first then everything will be history.
