This competition becomes the first in a series of the International competitions of cartoons under the general name "Euro 2012" which will be devoted the European championship on football 2012 in Ukraine and Poland.

I WAS BORN ON 09.09.1953. IN CAZIN (BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA) WHERE I FINISHED A PRIMARY AND SECUNDARY SCHOOL. AFTER THAT I VENT TO SARAJEVO FOR MECHANICAL FACULTY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING STUDIES AT THE MECHANICAL FACULTY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND ENDED IT SUCCESSFULLY.
I HAVE ENGAGED IN A CARTOONS AFTER MY DEPARTURE TO CROATIA SO THAT MZ THE FIRST CARTOON WAS PUBLISHED IN THE NEWSPAPER “SLOBODNA DALMACIJA”. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE BEEN COOPERATING IN SEVERAL NEWSPAPER IN CROATIA, SERBIA AND BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA.
IN 1989. I HAVE BECKOME A MEMBER OF THE CARTOONISTS ASSOCIATION OF CROATIA BUT I NOW LIVE AND WORK IN TUZLA (BOSNIA AND HECEGOVINA).
I HAD A FEW INDIVIDUAL CARTOONS EXHIBITIONS IN CROATIA AND BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA AND I ALSO PARTICIPATED IN SOME OF THE EXHIBITIONS THROUGHOUT THE WORD THROUGH THE CARTOONISTS ASSOCIATION OF CROATIA.

27'nci Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması sonuçlandı. Antalya'daki ‘IC Green Palace Oteli'nde toplanan, Önseçiciler Kurulu'nun 73 ülkeden 865 sanatçının 2 bin 561 karikatüründen elediği 42 ülkeden 172 sanatçının 188 karikatürünü değerlendiren Seçiciler Kurulu, sonuçları açıkladı. Büyük Jüri, 2008 yılında da birincilik alan Alanyalı serbest mimar Ahmet Öztürklevent'in eserini birinci seçti. Yarışmada Rus sanatçı Sergei Bobylev'in eseri ikinci olurken, yine Türk sanatçı Kürşat Zaman'ın eseri üçüncü oldu. Zaman, bir başka eseriyle de ‘Başarı Ödülü' kazandı.

Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması'nda bu yıl da birincilik kazanan Öztürklevent, 8 bin dolar para ödülü ve heykelcikle, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı Plaketi ve Hürriyet Gazetesi Altın Plaketi’ni almaya hak kazandı.
Yarışmada ikinci olan Sergei Bobylev 5 bin dolar para ödülü, heykelcik ve Milliyet Gazetesi Altın Plaketi'nin sahibi oldu.
Üçüncülük ödülüne layık görülen Kürşat Zaman ise 3 bin 500 dolar para ödülü ile heykelcik ve Radikal Gazetesi Gümüş Plaketi’ne hak kazandı.

Bu sene 27'ncisi düzenlenen Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması'nın sonuçları açıklandı.

ANTALYA-Aydın Doğan Vakfı tarafından bu yıl 27'ncisi düzenlenen Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması'nda Türk sanatçı Ahmet Öztürklevent'in eseri birinci seçildi. Rus sanatçı Sergei Bobylev'in eseri ikinci, Türk sanatçı Kürşat Zaman'ın eseri üçüncü oldu. Alanya'da oturan mimar Öztürklevent'in 2008 yılında birinci, Antalya'da yaşayan tasarımcı Zaman da 2009'da ikinci olmuştu.

Otoriteler tarafından ‘Dünyanın bir numaralı karikatür yarışması’ olarak nitelendirilen 27'nci Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması sonuçlandı. İKİ ANTALYALI SANATÇIYA ÖDÜL
Yarışmaya ev sahipliği yapan Antalya'dan iki sanatçı, ödül sahibi oldu. Eseri birinci olan Ahmet Öztürklevent, aynı zamanda ÇEKÜL Vakfı'nın Alanya Temsilciliği'ni yapıyor.
Yarışmaca 3'üncü olan, bir başka eseri de ‘Başarı Ödülü' kazanan Kürşat Zaman da Antalyalı. Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi mezunu Zaman, Antalya'daki özel bir şirkette tasarımcı olarak çalışıyor.

JÜRİDE ÖNEMLİ İSİMLER
Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması'nın bu yılki Seçiciler Kurulu'nda dünyaca ünlü karikatür ustaları yer aldı.
Başkanlığını Kanadalı Terry Mosher'in yaptığı jüride Ercan Akyol, Odile Conseil (Fransa), Latif Demirci, Selçuk Demirel, Cristina Sampaio (Portekiz) ve Kanybek Turumbekov (Kırgızistan) görev yaptı.

ESERLERİN ANLATTIKLARI
Ödül kazanan eserleri değerlendiren Jüri Başkanı Mosher, birinci seçilen eserde, surlar üzerindeki askerlerin ellerindeki silahlarla kalenin içinde bulunan din adamlarını koruduğunu söyledi.

“Bu eser asker ile din arasındaki kontrası ifade ediyor” diyen Mosher, “Günümüzde, din gibi insancıl ihtiyaçları bile ne yazık ki askerlerin koruması gerekiyor. Mükemmel bir dünya olsa buna ihtiyaç olmayacaktır” dedi.
El arabasında maden taşıyan Sergei Bobylev'in ikincilik kazanan eserini yorumlayan Terry Mosher, “İnsan gücünü yansıtıyor. Bazen bunun boş ve aynı zamanda komik birşey olduğunu yansıtıyor. Karikatürcülerin çok iyi yapabildiği birşeyi gösteriyor. Bizler gerçeklerle oynamayı ve gerçekleri saptırmayı seviyoruz” diye konuştu.

Denizde giden bir geminin üzerindeki yük konteynerlerin birinden sallanan uçurtmayı çizen Kürşat Zaman'ın çok iyi karikatürist olduğunu söyleyen Mosher, “Göç sorununu işlemiş. Çok güzel çiziyor. İkincilik almıştı, üçüncülük aldı. Devam ederse birincilik de alır” dedi.

ÜCRETSİZ GEZİLEBİLECEK
Seçiciler Kurulu'nun seçtiği eserler, IC Hotels Airport'ta yarın saat 18.30'da yapılacak tören ve kokteyli ardından sergilenmeye başlanacak. Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması'na katılan ve ödül alan karikatürler, IC Hotels Airport'ta 5 Haziran'a kadar sergilenecek ve ücretsiz gezilebilecek.
Yarışmada derece alan sanatçılara ödülleri, Ekim ayında İstanbul'da yapılacak törenle verilecek.

GEÇEN YIL KİMLER KAZANMIŞTI?
Geçen yıl düzenlenen 26'ncı Aydın Doğan Uluslarası Karikatür Yarışması'nda İtalyan sanatçı Alessandro Gatto'nun eseri birinci seçilmiş, Türkiye'den Kürşat Zaman'ın eseri ikinci olurken, üçüncülüğü ise Lüksemburg'dan Pol Leurs, Romanya'dan Cetin Cerchez-Abdula ve Rusya'dan Yuriy Kosobukin paylaşmıştı.

ÖDÜL ALAN SANATÇILARIN ÖZGEÇMİŞLERİ
Birincilik ödülü- Ahmet Öztürklevent (Türkiye):
1952’de doğdu. 1980 yılında Konya Devlet Mimarlık ve Mühendislik Akademisi'nin Mimarlık Bölümü’nü bitirdi. 1980 yılından sonra Antalya'nın Alanya İlçesi'ne yerleşen ve serbest mimarlık yapan Öztürk, 3 çocuk babası. 2007 Nehar Tüblek Karikatür Yarışması'nda birinci olan sanatçı, 2004 yılında da Uluslararası Nasrettin Hoca Karikatür Yarışması'nda büyük ödül kazandı. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalara katıldı ve ödüller aldı. 2008 yılında Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda birincilik ödülü kazandı.

İkincilik ödülü- Sergei Bobylev (Rusya):
Rusya’da doğdu. Moscow Print Academy ve Desihn High School’u bitirdi. Halen serbest grafiker olarak çalışıyor. 2007 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü, 2004 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda üçüncülük, 2002 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü, 1993 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü kazandı.

Üçüncülük ödülü- Kürşat Zaman (Türkiye):
1974’de Antalya’da doğdu. Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi İç Mimarlık Bölümü’nü bitirdi. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası karikatür yarışmalarına katıldı. 2008 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü, 2009 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda da ikincilik ödülü kazandı.

* Musa Gümüş (Türkiye): 1963’te doğdu. Marmara Üniversitesi İşletme Fakültesi’ni bitirdi. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalarda ödüller kazandı: Halen özel bir kolejde illüstrasyon ve karikatür üzerine dersler veriyor.

* Necdet Yılmaz (Türkiye): 1970’de İstanbul’da doğan sanatçı Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi'nden mezun oldu. 2003 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda birincilik, 2004 yılında yapılan Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda ikincilik ödüllerini kazandı. Sanatçı 2000 yılından beri New York’ta yaşamakta olup çeşitli ajanslarda sanat yönetmenliği yapıyor.

* Evzen David (Çek Cumhuriyeti): Çek karikatürist Evzen David birçok Çek dergi ve gazetelerinde eserleri yayımlanıyor. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalara katılarak pek çok ödül kazanan sanatçının eserleri aynı zamanda da toplu sergilerde yer aldı ve çeşitli kataloglarda yayınlandı.

* Vladimir Kazanevsky (Ukrayna): Karikatürist ve yazar olarak çalışan Ukraynalı sanatçı, çeşitli ulusal ve uluslar arası yarışmalarda 300’den fazla ödül kazandı. Aynı zamanda karikatür İsviçre ve Ukrayna’da yayınlanan kitapları bulunuyor.

* Valentin Druzhinin (Rusya): 1951’de Türkmenistan’da doğan sanatçı çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalarda bir çok ödüller kazandı. Halen Moskova’da yayınlanan Komsomolskaya Pravda gazetesinde çalışıyor.

* Mohsen Naseri (İran): 1978’de doğan İranlı sanatçı Tahran Sanat Üniversitesi’ni bitirdi. 1997 yılından beri karikatür çizmekte olan sanatçı halen bazı dergi ve gazetelerde karikatürist ve ilüstratör olarak çalışıyor.

* Gomez Glaudio Antonio (Brezilya): 1972’de Belo Horizonte'de doğan sanatçının 1988’den beri çeşitli gazetelerde ve dergilerde çalışmaları yayınlandı. Ulusal ve uluslar arası pek çok yarışmaya katılan sanatçı 1999’da düzenlenen 16'ncı Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü kazandı.

* Jerzy Gluszek (Polonya): 1956’da Polonya'da doğan sanatçı Wroclav Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Resim Bölümü'nü bitirdi. Halen ressamlık, grafikerlik ve ilüstratörlük yapıyor. İlk ödülünü 2005’te alan sanatçı çeşitli ulusal ve uluslar arası yarışmalarda da ödüller kazandı.

* Moacir Knorr Gutterres (Brezilya): 1962'te Brezilya’nın Porto Alegre kentinde doğan sanatçı gazetecilik eğitimi aldı. 1986'dan bu yana profesyonel olarak çizim yapan sanatçı halen Brezilya’da çeşitli reklam kampanyalarında, politik kampanyalarda görev aldı. Sanatçı ulusal gazetelerde çalıştı. 2004'ten bu yana çocuk kitapları yazıp resimliyor. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalara katıldı.

* Kürşat Zaman (Türkiye): 1974'de Antalya’da doğdu. Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi İç Mimarlık Bölümü’nü bitirdi. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası karikatür yarışmalarına katıldı. 2008 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda başarı ödülü, 2009 Aydın Doğan Uluslararası Karikatür Yarışması’nda da ikincilik ödülü kazandı.

* Mohammad Ali Khalaji (İran): Halen Tahran Sanat Üniversitesi’nde öğrenci olan sanatçı, dergiler için karikatür çiziyor ve çeşitli organizasyonlarda animasyon çalışmaları yapıyor. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalara katılan sanatçı 100’den fazla ödül kazandı.

* Pavel Constantin (Romanya): 1951'de doğan Romen sanatçı halen serbest karikatürist olarak çalışıyor. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası yarışmalara katılan sanatçı pek çok ödül kazandı. (dha)

PLAGIAN AL MAESTRO ISMAEL ROLDAN

La noche de ayer en la red social de facebook entre los colegas del mundod e la caricatura, apareció una denuncia contra un norteamericano llamado MARK BRUTON, el cual tiene al costumbre de tomar el trabajo de otros artistas y trucarlos o editarlos para anexarlos en su portafolio personal de servicios.

El caso de al denuncia le ocurrió a MECHO, colega de Costa Rica a quien dos de sus obras fueron tomadas por este individuos quien las editó sutilemente dejando en evidencia su mal proceder, su falta de ética profesional y su pobre y lamentable forma de vida.

Last night on the facebook social network among colleagues mundod and the cartoon appeared a complaint against an American named MARK BRUTON, which has the habit of taking the work of other artists and tricks to append or edit them in your portfolio Service staff.

The case of the complaint occurred to MEChA, a colleague of Costa Rica to whom two of his works were taken by the individuals who published subtly leaving the evidence of his wrongdoing, his misconduct and his poor and unfortunate way of life.

the AYDIN DOGAN contest

For more than 25 years we follow the AYDIN DOGAN contest.

Our opinion is that this event always was an example for a good professional level and pluralism, without involving politics and dirt.

It was a huge shock for us to see that this year first (!) prize was awarded to cheap, worthless conjuncture political cartoon. We are really disappointed and we think that the 2010-jury's decision was very bad. Please take a look:

Here below are answers I gave to Simon Crisp (for Newslite.tv) concerning this new technique (2 other interviews will be released in the coming days):

How did you come up with the idea for Pencil Vs Camera?

I’ve been taking photos and drawing since almost 10 years. This « Pencil Vs Camera » series is nothing but the result of several years of graphic exploration and a logic consequence of my artistic evolution. But the real idea came while I was watching television and writing a letter at the same time a few weeks ago. Reading my letter before putting it in the envelope, I saw in transparency the television behind the paper. I then realize it would be great to make something similar in a single image showing 2 different actions.

I went outside and Drew « Pencil Vs Camera 1 » which is very simple and shows 2 chairs with a small table. About ¼ of the scene is represented on the paper, the other ¾ happens on the photo. So this is roughly how the project started. In my other « Pencil Vs Camera » images, I tried to introduce weird elements on the paper (such as dinosaurs, ufo’s, double pair of eyes…) to contrast with the realism of the photo.

How do you pick the photos you use?

The photos and drawings always come from my own stock/production. I somehow consider the surface of the image as a battle between drawing and photography and the tools of this fight are my « pencil » and my « camera ». So I usually choose photos with a striking subject and a specific action. It can also be nice to use a background scenery with a very simple or low semantic effect and make everything happen inside the small piece of paper.

The great thing is that photo and drawing are 2 different ways of expression but they go well together and they definitely have the same purpose: share an idea, an emotion, a concept or a message.

How do you pick what to add?

There are no rules. There mustn’t be. Imagination and creativity are the leitmotif. This is why this series is so amusing to do for me. You can choose to draw something in a realistic way or to rather go crazy. I personally prefer to show unreal things on the paper because the photo is a mere reflection of the world we live in.

I noticed that representing a strong perspective on the paper (for instance in Pencil Vs Camera 4 or 8) gives a good illusion and generates a nice visual impact when it matches the main lines of the background scenery. It is very exciting for the viewer to ignore what’s really behind the paper. It is clear for me that it really is the battle between drawing and photography that is the whole message and purpose of the series.

What are your favourites so far?

I don’t really have favourites. I let the viewer decide what he prefers and I’m only thinking about my next projects.

What reaction have you had to them?

This series has had a very positive outcome. I really didn’t expect that. I’m very happy of the good feedbacks I’ve received from all over the world. I think and I hope this technique will become a new form of expression for everybody. So good luck!

Boston International Humor Festival

The 1st International Humor Festival BOSTOONS 2010 comprises:

A Cartoon Contest, with two themes related to New England history, culture and traditions

MAIN THEME:

Freedom, with all is posible meanings (political freedom, religious freedom, free speech, etc.)

COMPLEMENTARY THEME:

Personal caricature, dedicated to the late Massachusetts Senador Edward M. (Ted) Kennedy,
one of the most relevant names of the U. S. political life of the last decades.

THE CARTOON CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. All cartoonists, professional or not, are invited to take part in the contest, regardless of nationality or country of
residence.

2. Participants will submit up to three cartoons in each theme, in jpg format with a 300 dpi resolution, using any
technique, color or combination of colors.

3. The participating cartoons could not have been previously published or have won awards in any contest or
event.

4. The deadline to submit works is June 30, 2010.

5. Participating cartoons will be emailed to the Festival official address.

6. Each participant will fill out an Entry Form with his/her name, home and electronic addresses, phone number
and country of residence. Each participant will also submit a brief resume and head shot.

7. Participants whose works are chosen to be part of the Festival Salon exhibition will receive a catalogue with all
selected cartoons by mail.

8. The jury will be made up by five prestigious cartoonists from the United States and other countries and their
decisions cannot be appealed.

9. The Cartoon Contest results will be announced on the Festival Opening Gala, on Saturday, August 14, 2010.

10. The submission of the Entry Form implies that the participant accepts these Rules and Regulations, turns
over all rights of his/her cartoons to BOSTOONS and authorizes the Festival organizers to publish them on the
media and/or the Internet. The acceptance of these Rules and Regulations also conveys the turnover of the
aforementioned rights to third parties without limitations. BOSTOONS has the right to exhibit, archive and publish
those cartoons on the media and/or the Internet without limitations.

11. BOSTOONS reserves the right not to exhibit cartoons that may attempt against individual and/or collective
rights.

12. Participation in this contest supposes the acceptance of these Rules and Regulations without reservations.

THE HUMOROUS TEXTS CONTEST (ONLY IN SPANISH)

1. All writers of original humorous texts in Spanish, in any literary or journalistic genre, are invited to take part in
the contest. Participating texts cannot have been published in any media.

2. Each participant can submit up to three texts. Theme is free.

3. The participating texts could not have been previously published or have won awards in any contest or event.

4. The deadline to submit texts will be June 30, 2010.

5. Texts will be emailed to the Festival official address:bostoons@bostoonsfestival.com

6. Participating texts will have no more than 2000 words, typed in Microsoft Office Word, font 12.

7. Each participant will fill out an Entry Form with his/her name, home and electronic addresses, phone number
and country of residence. Each participant will also submit a brief resume and head shot.

8. The submission of the Entry Form implies that the participant turns over copyright of his/her texts to

9. The jury will be made up by three prestigious writers of humorous texts in Spanish from the United States and
other countries and their decisions cannot be appealed.

10. The Humorous Texts Contest results will be announced on the Festival Opening Gala, on Saturday, August

11. The winning text and honorable mentions will be published in EL BUS de Lenguaviva www.elbusdelenguaviva.com

12. Participation in this contest supposes the acceptance of these Rules and Regulations without reservations.

CARTOON CONTEST, COMPLEMENTARY THEME: TED KENNEDY

1. Personal Caricature Award $3000.00

HUMOROUS TEXTS IN SPANISH CONTEST:

1. Humorous Texts Award $1500.00

� The juries will award as many Honorable Mentions as they deem necessary. A Popularity Award, decided by the
public, will be awarded in both cartoon contests. There will be awards from other institutions and organizations. All
Awards and Honorable Mentions will receive trophies and certificates.

� The winners of the Grand Prix and the Awards in the Personal Caricature and Humorous Texts categories will
automatically become Guests of Honor of the II International Humor Festival BOSTOONS 2011 and will have the
opportunity to present their works in that year�s event.
