&lt;b&gt;We judge others/situations every day.&lt;/b&gt;  It&amp;#39;s actually a crucial part of life!&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;b&gt;While we don&amp;#39;t want to be rude in our judgements,&lt;/b&gt; they can help us to stay safe, choose our close friends and to exercise our free will to think about people and situations the way we choose.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
For example...on my roadtrip up to Minnesota last week, I encountered a janitor at a rest stop.  He was cleaning the women&amp;#39;s restroom and to my judgement, he smiled a little creepily and was acting a little weird.  I did my business and went back to my car where I decided to lock my doors.  It was daylight, but there weren&amp;#39;t many people around and I&amp;#39;m a small female so my &lt;b&gt;judgment&lt;/b&gt; or instincts or whatever told me to play it safe.&lt;br&gt;

While I was getting my Pandora set up (thank you God for Pandora on a 6-8 hour trip!!) and responding to text messages before I headed out, I saw that janitor again.  He was doing something with the garbage can right in front of my car.  He saw me looking at him and gave a smile and wave.  Something seemed off, but I did my best to tell myself that he&amp;#39;s just a friendly old man.  &lt;i&gt;Don&amp;#39;t judge him.&lt;/i&gt;  Then he walked up to my car, started rapping on my window, told me to roll it down and asked me where I got my toes done.  (what the what?)&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
I quickly &lt;b&gt;judged&lt;/b&gt; the situation to be unsafe, said &amp;quot;No!&amp;quot; and backed out as quickly as I could.  I really wonder what would have happened had I tried to be polite and roll down my window.  &lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Sometimes judging others is necessary. &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;
But sometimes you just need to
 have all of the facts and then decide how to think about a situation.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Wow where did the last week go?&lt;/b&gt;  I seriously feel like &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/2013/05/wiaw-62-instagrammed.html"&gt;&lt;b&gt;I JUST wrote up a WIAW&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; (or &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/p/what-i-ate.html"&gt;&lt;b&gt;What. I. Ate. Wednesday.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;) post (and painstakingly watched as the bar crept along showing the status of the photo uploads...dang hotel internet!).&lt;br&gt;

I am still hanging out in the twin cities with Dave and we actually went out and explored over the weekend.  Saturday I got a tour around the apartments Dave has his eye on if his company ever gives him the official word about the job.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Speaking of which, apparently the paperwork for the position is just being held up by HR (he does NOT officially have the job)....which if that is really the case, Dave lost out on an apartment that would have been available the 20th of this month and now there aren&amp;#39;t any available until June 6th.  I would love to personally kick someone in the shins for the way they have been jerking Dave (and me) around.  It&amp;#39;s kind of nuts because the guy he&amp;#39;s supposed to be taking over for retired Friday...&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Anyhow in order for us to feel a little better about life, we are basically planning for just in case.  If he does get the job, I plan on going through my summer classes in Nebraska and then joining him up here.  I have been putting off looking into it seriously, such as looking at school programs or work because I already did that when &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/2013/04/mimm-15-birthday-giveaway-chobani.html"&gt;&lt;b&gt;everyone told him he was getting the job in KC&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, but I plan on looking into that today.  &lt;b&gt;Just in case.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;

I got to stop and hang out with my blend &lt;a href="http://www.blog.chimesdesign.com/"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Calee&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; in Ames on the way up where she treated me to some coffee-pressed coffee that I drank on the remaining three hour trip up to the twin cities.  I&amp;#39;m so glad I got to break up the 6 hour road-trip AND that I got some caffeine since my poor timing landed me at Dave&amp;#39;s hotel around midnight.  I need to remember that I take more bathroom breaks than the average person. (Poor Dave...he has to get up at 5am and I woke him up.)&lt;br&gt;

Dave and I also got to hang out with &lt;a href="http://fitfoodiefinds.com/"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Lee&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and her boy last night at the &lt;a href="https://www.facebook.com/thelyndaletaphouse?ref=stream&amp;amp;rf=144482535592323"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Lyndale Taphouse&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; in uptown (like I really know what &amp;quot;uptown means&amp;quot; haha).  I really REALLY hope Dave gets the job here because if you can believe it, Lee is even sweeter in person than on her blog and it would be awesome if we could hang out more often!&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Currently I am holed up in the hotel battling some allergy symptoms (that I will later try to fix with exercise...does that work?  Endorphins or something?), and I thought I&amp;#39;d share some of my favorites from the past &lt;b&gt;few&lt;/b&gt; weeks!&lt;br&gt;

I&amp;#39;ve been really struggling with how to recap this run.  &lt;b&gt;I felt a mixture of pride, surprise and gratefulness upon crossing the finishing line.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;

I was astonished at how well I did for my first race and really don&amp;#39;t think I even deserve to have done as well as I did with the &lt;a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Al_1MaEC2990dGxuSndRcXdhdHpzU0w2WWtDN2U2bEE#gid=0"&gt;&lt;b&gt;lack of training I completed&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;.  It was super emotional and tough, but still fun and exciting at the same time.  It was also the third half marathon I signed up for, &lt;b&gt;but only the first one I actually ran.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Seriously, I love how many people I&amp;#39;ve met through blogging and social media.&lt;/b&gt;  You can meet people from all over, which is quite convenient in this case.  The thing about making these types of friends is that you usually meet over a hobby/passion you have in common, whereas it seems like a lot of other friends you meet through a location you have in common...like going to the same school or working at the same restaurant.  (Anyone get that?)&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Not only did I survive this crazy busy weekend...I survived running 13.1 miles in the chilly 40 degree weather.&lt;/b&gt;  Yes, it is May, but it felt more like a frigid February.  That&amp;#39;s the midwest for ya though! &lt;br&gt;

So I definitely intended to schedule this post last night, however I was running on two hours of sleep and 10pm hit and I fell into a sleep coma.  I slept ten hours, hitting snooze on 3 alarms until they stopped going off.  Wow.&lt;br&gt;

I am so excited that Dave actually sent me a post!  And with so. many. pictures!&lt;br&gt;

Dave is the BF, or the guy I sometimes see now because he&amp;#39;s always gone with his big fancy job.  Hopefully this will be over with soon and I can get some healthy food into him! &lt;br&gt;

First off it needs to be said that I am still at a loss at
how Amanda talked me into typing up a blog post for her WIAW post.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;Secondly it also needs to be mentioned that I
am a Civil Engineer… Math = good, English and Grammar = not so good.&lt;/b&gt; So please bear
with me. As Amanda has said many times, I live on the road out of
hotels about 90% of the time.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It sounds
fun at first but it quickly becomes mentally and emotionally draining.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I never thought I would say it but &lt;b&gt;thank goodness
I work some 65-70 hours a week to take my mind off of it.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;But living on the road has many obstacles
such as living on expenses.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Many bad
food decisions become easier when money isn’t an issue but time is.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;b&gt;This is a topic that we have been talking about in one of my nutrition classes.&lt;/b&gt;  Quite frankly, I got a little depressed when my teacher talked about how she used to be a runner and was very active, but since she didn&amp;#39;t pay attention to her bones, she has osteoporosis.  She walks very slowly with a bit of a limp sometimes and&lt;i&gt; I know she wishes she paid better attention to her bone health when she was younger!&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
So even though you might think you are young and invincible...you should be taking care of your bones today.&lt;br&gt;

Yep.&amp;nbsp; Today I joined instagram.&amp;nbsp; And immediately posted a photo that shows my true food love, Jif crunchy peanut butter.&lt;br /&gt;

I also managed to photograph my unique dinner of butternut squash lasagna with a spinach side salad made with my homemade-ish creamy dreamy dressing.&lt;br /&gt;

For the dressing I just pureed cottage cheese, whole grain mustard and honey-mustard.&amp;nbsp; It's super thick and also works on sandwiches or for a dip (for chicken fingers...yep).&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;b&gt;I am sitting here in my dad&amp;#39;s basement Sunday evening at 11pm, very exhausted, waiting for my laundry to be done and thinking how blessed I am.  And how seldom I believe myself to be so.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;

I got to head to my hometown where I was surrounded by people all weekend. While normally that is overwhelming to me (okay I did take a nap or two), I thouroughly enjoyed it. &lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Friday started off with me and sister Courtney working out together.&lt;/b&gt;  It&amp;#39;s been awhile since we&amp;#39;ve done that (since before Mr. Aaron Sanchez was born!!), so it was great sister bonding time, not to mention I got a good sweat in.  I was actually still sore today from the workout!!&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;It&amp;#39;s crunch time at school and that means I have to shift focus.&lt;/b&gt;  I mean I have finals in all of my classes..&lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;including my nutrition lab&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt; and a stats project our teacher JUST told us about that&amp;#39;s due the Saturday after finals!  (Not cool.)  &lt;i&gt;I adore blogging but it is very time consuming!  &lt;/i&gt;&lt;br&gt;

Thankfully there are some awesome people who are able to guest post for me the next couple of weeks to keep the good content coming. &lt;br&gt;

I wouldn&amp;#39;t say I am the healthiest cereal eater...I often combine full healthy fiber cereal with chocolate for a bed time treat, but there are still benefits!  Even the most sugar-laden cereals are packed with vitamins and minerals.&lt;br&gt;

I don&amp;#39;t think I need to tell you how proud I am that I accomplished this 9 mile run, by myself, on a treadmill.  &lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;Seriously, I still wonder if it actually happened!&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Why?&lt;br&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/b&gt;
&lt;b&gt;I never got sore!&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Not the next day, not two days later...here we are Friday, a whole FIVE days later and I never experienced any kind of malady from running 9 miles on a treadmill.&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Well, the KC trip went a little differently than I had imagined to say the least.&lt;/b&gt;  It was fun, yes.  It was also rough.  I was kind of a train wreck of emotions the past five days to tell you the absolute truth.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
After &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/2013/04/shn-favorites-4-5-13-thoughtful-posts.html"&gt;&lt;b&gt;the chaos of packing and getting the apartment cleaned was accomplished&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, I was already much later than expected, but still pretty optimistic.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Driving up, I was elated to see Dave and excited at the possibility of meeting new friends and learning a lot at the dietetic conference.&lt;/b&gt;  I was feeling super proud that I was taking a step in the right direction for my career and feeling quite excited to wear my new dressy clothes.  Excited to feel my age for the first time in awhile since I am normally surrounded by 19/20 year olds and in sweat pants and gym shoes.&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;On the other hand I was a little nervous about how Dave might be feeling since work has been particularly rough and abundant in unfair office politics lately.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
He did not get the job in KC, instead someone from Denver got the position that Dave has been filling in for the last month.  Not because of his work ethic or his strength as a manager, but due to  
office politics.  It&amp;#39;s not my story to share, but just trust that he is 
 more than deserving of a permanent position.  The position that&lt;u&gt;&lt;b&gt; everyone&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/u&gt;, including bosses strongly suggested he &lt;u&gt;&lt;b&gt;was getting.  &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
To add insult to injury, Dave has to train the new guy this week while Dave continues his life living out of a hotel.  Like I said, rough.  &lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;I do know that God sees all injustices, but it is still difficult being in unfair situations.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Is anyone else baffled that it is Friday?&lt;/b&gt;  Seriously the last 48 hours raced by like the hare raced by the poor tortoise.  Dang smug rabbit.&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Wednesday I packed up anything and everything I could possibly need&lt;/b&gt; to take with me to KC including homework, workout clothes galore, snacks for the hotel room, a cooler with foods that might go bad in the 5 days I&amp;#39;d be gone, 6 pairs of shoes and a dozen mix and match outfits because I could NOT figure out what to wear to the MINK Conference.  I basically brought my whole apartment...except for socks.  And the connecter thing that lets me load pictures from my camera onto my laptop.  I really need to just make a list of basics to bring on trips....&lt;br&gt;

To start off this &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/p/what-i-ate.html"&gt;&lt;b&gt;WIAW or What I Ate Wednesday&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, here is what I&amp;#39;m eating now:&lt;br&gt;

a big bowl of deliciosity.   &lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Or the delicious trifecta:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Peanutbutter Cheerios (must try!), mini semi-sweet chocolate chips and one sliced banana.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;

and that&amp;#39;s only half of it...which is quite embarrassing because a friend from class stayed the night and I even had piles of laundry on my bed at the time.  &lt;b&gt;Good thing she&amp;#39;s the nicest person ever&lt;/b&gt; and just told me how comfy the camping chair in my room was!&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Needless to say, life is a little chaotic right now, and I&amp;#39;m feelin&amp;#39; it, but I really shouldn&amp;#39;t be complaining.  &lt;a href="http://www.semihealthyblog.com/2013/04/mimm-14-easter-2013-excited-for-mink.html#more"&gt;&lt;b&gt;I got to see family this weekend&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, I have a couple of friends at school now and I&amp;#39;m heading to KC to see Dave, go to a dietetics conference, and attend a friend&amp;#39;s bachelorette party.  How crazy is it that those three things are all in KC?? &lt;br&gt;

The phrases we use like &amp;quot;Merry Christmas&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;Happy Thanksgiving&amp;quot; are never meant offensively, at least I can&amp;#39;t think of a reason why someone would try to be rude and say a phrase like that?  Easter is a day that some celebrate out of religion, some celebrate with a fictitious Easter bunny and others don&amp;#39;t observe.&lt;br&gt;

Last week I got to hang out with Dave (the BF) over Spring Break in KC, where he was recently relocated.  Well, he is still living out of a hotel....his technical home still being in Nebraska.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
I was there to keep him company and was hoping to see some KC sites, but goodness he worked long hours!  &lt;b&gt;Out the door by 6am to make his first conference call and back to the hotel about 12 hours later...totally exhausted.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
When we got back to Nebraska Saturday evening, we stopped at his parents to get my car.  His mom asked me, &amp;quot;So what did you do while Dave was working all day?&amp;quot; &lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt; I was a little stumped...what DID I do?&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
I didn&amp;#39;t have much of an answer for her.  It&amp;#39;s so crazy how days can go by like the blink of an eye.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
It bothered me that I didn&amp;#39;t really know what I did over that break, so I got to thinking.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;u&gt;&lt;b&gt;Here is what I came up with:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Slept 8-9 hours a night.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;  Although I was awoken around 5am each morning, I went right back to sleep after Dave left the room.  I mean come on, it&amp;#39;s Spring Break!  A time to relax and rejuvenate!&lt;br&gt;

&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Picked up after Dave.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;  Love him dearly, but I was joking that he was at the hotel long enough to make a mess and leave.  And when you&amp;#39;re spending all day in a small room, you don&amp;#39;t want it looking like a tornado came through. ;)&lt;br&gt;
